The Canadian government has succeeded to maintain its political stability by implementing middle-ways approach to face the separatism movement. Parti Quebecois has been the biggest promoter of Quebec sovereign movement. This political party has held referendums to be independent from the central government and managed to gain public attention. This paper aimed to figure out how the series of Quebec sovereign movements affected Canadian domestic politics. It used constructivist approach to explain why the Quebec struggle for independent and how its strategies influence the Canadian domestic structure. The data obtained from library research. This paper examines the effort of Quebec movement consist of (1) creating a political discourse of “self-determinantion”. The social movement transforms into Québécois political party and it visioned to gain territory of the province since the decade of the 1960s; (2) social construction dealing with the issue of French identity as non-Canadian culture. The supports of the idea embedded in the several forms of regulations and propaganda in the public sphere.

Under the new law and regulations, private higher education institutions (PTS in Indonesian term) are now given ample opportunities to manage their own institutions without necessary intervention from Directorate General of Higher Education (DGHE). With greater freedom from DGHE control, Universitas Islam Indonesia (best known as UII) in its effort to improve performance, has decided to redesign its organization, arguing that the existing design does not fit with the changing environment.

The development of information technology has changed the business model of firms in the industry that are in contact with technology. One of them is in the music industry, which currently has penetrated the online platform with a series of accompanying issues. This study uses a conceptual approach to Technology Acceptance Model to understand this relationship. Although in fact similar research has been carried out by a number of researchers, this topic remains an interesting object to study considering that technology acceptance cannot be separated from the environment in which consumers are located. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach to test the research hypotheses using data obtained from questionnaires distributed to 102 respondents spread across the Yogyakarta area. This study found that perceived usefulness and perceived price do not have a significant influence on perceived value. On the other hand, perceived playfulness and perceived ease of use have a significant influence on perceived value. This finding emphasizes that the online music business is more in touch with entertainment products. With respondents who are dominated by young people in a developing country, it is shown that pleasure is a highly prioritized part of overcoming other considerations, especially price and usability. Another finding is that the greater the perceived value of online music, the higher the intention in purchasing the product would be. This study adds to the literature and information about how consumers respond in different regions (Yogyakarta, Indonesia) as one the developing countries on the factors that affect the perceived value and purchase intention, thus it can be used to test the generality of the results of previous studies. Methane-oxidizing bacteria are ubiquitous in the environment and are globally important in oxidizing the potent greenhouse gas methane. It is also well recognized that they have wide potential for bioremediation of organic and chlorinated organic pollutants, thanks to the wide substrate ranges of the methane monooxygenase enzymes that they produce. Here we have demonstrated that the well characterized model methanotroph Methylococcus capsulatus (Bath) is able to bioremediate chromium(Vl) pollution over a wide range of concentrations (1.4-1000 mg L-1 of Cr6+), thus extending the bioremediation potential of this major group of microorganisms to include an important heavy-metal pollutant. The chromium(VI) reduction reaction was dependent on the availability of reducing equivalents from the growth substrate methane and was partially inhibited by the metabolic poison sodium azide. X-ray spectroscopy showed that the cell-associated chromium was predominantly in the +3 oxidation state and associated with cell- or medium-derived moieties that were most likely phosphate groups. The genome sequence of Mc. capsulatus (Bath) suggests at least five candidate genes for the chromium(Vl) reductase activity in this organism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
