Bu makalede Türkiye sularında İskenderun Körfezi'nden bir balık çiftliği çevresinde Aetomylaeus bovinus (E. Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire, 1817) sürüsü rapor edilmektedir. Bu tür bir toplanma muhtemelen ontogenetik yer değiştirmeden kaynaklanmaktadır; ancak aynı zamanda bu sürüde bazı hamile dişilerin ortaya çıkması nedeniyle üreme sürecinden de kaynaklanmaktadır. 25'ten fazla kaydedilen örnek sayısı, türün bölgede hala mevcut olduğunu, ancak k-seçilmiş yaşam öyküleri nedeniyle olası bir yok oluştan korunmak için bir yönetim planına ihtiyaç duyulduğunu göstermektedir., In this study, a shoal of bull rays, Aetomylaeus bovinus (E. Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire, 1817), around a sea-cage fish farm in Iskenderun Bay, Turkey is reported. Such an aggregation is probably due to ontogenetic shift but may also be a factor of reproductive process as some pregnant females were observed. The number of individuals recorded, in all more than 25, shows that the species is still present in the area but needs a conservation plan due to its k-selected life-histories and potential for extinction.

Kılıç balığı, üst çenesindeki kılıca benzer keskin ve çok uzun uzantıdan dolayı adını rostrumundan (gaga) almıştır. Görünüşü ile son derece tehlikeli ve yırtıcı bir özellik gösterir. Tehlike anında kullandığı tek silah kılıcıdır. Bu kılıçla 30 cm kalınlığındaki ahşabı delebilen kılıç balığı, teknelere bile rahatlıkla saldırabilir. Kılıç balığı üzerine yapılan birçok araştırmanın derlenmesinden oluşturulan bu çalışma, kılıç balıklarının bazı ilginç davranışlarını sunmaktadır. Bunlar arasında, yatay-dikey hareketleri, beslenme, saldırı, güneşlenme ve kur yapma davranışları üzerinde durulmuştur.

Bu çalışmada, Ege Denizi boyunca lagün balıkçılığında kullanılan bazı av araçlarının teknik özelliklerini ve hedef türlerini belirledik. 2014-2016 yılları arasında beş dalyanda (Enez, Homa, Karina, Akköy ve Güllük) örneklemeler yapılmıştır. Balık ağlarının teknik planları MS-Visio programı tarafından ağlar için ölçekli, ancak paragatlar için ölçeksiz çizilmiştir. Dalyanlarda toplam 8 adet fanyalı ve 2 adet solungaç olmak üzere toplam 10 adet uzatma ağı ve 3 tip paragat belirlenmiştir. Dalyanda incelenen tüm av araçları için hedef türler, 8 aile ve 15 türden oluşmaktadır. İncelenen dalyanlarda yaygın olarak Dicentrarchus labrax, Chelon auratus, Chelon labrosus, Chelon ramada, Chelon saliens, Mugil cephalus, Sparus aurata türleri görülmüş, Callinectes sapidus, Platichthys flesus türleri sadece Enez dalyanında ve Cyprinus carpio türü ise sadece Güllük dalyanında tespit edilmiştir., In this study, we determined the technical characteristics and target species of some fishing gears, used in lagoon fisheries along the Aegean Sea. The samplings were carried out in five lagoons (Enez, Homa, Karina, Akköy and Güllük) between 2014 and 2016. Technical plans of the fishing gears were drawn by MS-Visio programme with scale for gillnets, but no scales for longlines. A total of 10 type set nets of which 8 trammel nets and 2 gillnets, and 3 type longlines were determined. Target species comprise 8 families and 15 species for all fishing gear examined in the lagoon. Dicentrarchus labrax, Chelon auratus, Chelon labrosus, Chelon ramada, Chelon saliens, Mugil cephalus and Sparus aurata were commonly seen in the studied lagoons. Callinectes sapidus and Platichthys flesus were determined only in the Enez lagoon and Cyprinus carpio was determined only in the Güllük lagoon.

This paper aims to complement and update the data regarding the distribution of rare Pomadasys incisus, specifically by revealing the extension of its distribution in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. On 1 November 2020, a single specimen of P. incisus was captured by an angler on a sandy/rocky bottom at a depth of 3 m in Akyaka, Gökova Bay, in the south-eastern Aegean Sea. This thermophilic fish is still very rare in the eastern Mediterranean Sea (about 142 specimens reported to date). However, it is obvious that populations of P. incisus are gradually expanding towards the northern latitudes of the eastern as well as western Mediterranean basin. © 2021, Historical Society of Southern Primorska of Koper

Tetrapturus belone Akdeniz'e endemik bir türdür ve Akdeniz’in orta kısımlarda daha yaygındır. Levant'ta ise çok nadir kabul edilir. 20 Ekim 2020 tarihinde, Urla, Karantina Adası kıyılarında, 11 m derinlikte, 176 cm (26 kg) bir Tetrapturus belone örneği fanyalı ağla yakalanmıştır. Dokuz yıl önce, bu epipelajik balık, 2011 yılında İzmir Körfezi'nin sığ sularına girmişti. Şaşırtıcı bir şekilde 158 cm alt çene çatal boyu (LJFL)'na sahip bu balık, aynı alanda ve derinlikte ortaya çıkmış ve ayrıca bir fanyalı ağla yakalanmıştı. Bu ihtiyolojik not, Akdeniz kılıcının Urla'nın (İzmir Körfezi) belirli bir kıyı bölgesinde küçük ölçekli balıkçılıktan tesadüfi olarak yeni bir bulunuşunu sunmaktadır., Tetrapturus belone is endemic to the Mediterranean and it is more common in central parts. It is considered very rare in the Levant. On 20 October 2020, a specimen of Tetrapturus belone with 176 cm Lower Jaw Fork Length (LJFL) and weighing 26 kg was captured by a trammel net from the coast of Karantina Island, Urla at a depth of 11 m. This is the second record of the epipelagic T. belone entering the shallow waters of İzmir Bay, nine years after its first record in the same area. This ichthyologic note presents a new occurrence of the Mediterranean spearfish as an incidental catch from the small scale fishery in a certain coastal area of Urla, Izmir Bay.

25 Aralık 2012'de bir Prionace glauca (Linnaeus, 1758) örneği, Fethiye'den 1200 m derinlikte 9 kılıç balığı ile birlikte bir kılıç balığı paraketa av teknesi tarafından yakalanmıştır. Yakalanan örnek TL olarak ölçüldükten sonra tartılarak (kg) fotoğraflanmıştır. Birey 85 cm uzunluğunda ve 7 kg ağırlığındaydı. Önceki çalışmalara göre, mavi köpekbalıkları özellikle Kuzey Ege Denizi'nde bolca gözlenmekteyken, kılıç balığı avcılığının zayıf olarak bölgede var olması nedeniyle çok nadir olarak rastlantısal düzeyde avlandığı kabul edilebilir. Bununla birlikte, mavi köpekbalıkları küresel yüzgeç ticaretinde önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Bu nedenle, bu köpekbalığı türünün nüfus eğilimi hızla azalmaktadır., On 25 December 2012, a specimen of Prionace glauca (Linnaeus, 1758) was caught by a swordfish longliner along with 9 swordfish together off Fethiye at a depth of 1200 m. The specimen caught was measured as TL and weighed (kg), and photographed. The specimen was 85 cm TL and 7 kg. According to the previous studies, blue sharks especially observed abundantly in northern Aegean Sea, and can be accepted very rare incidental catch from the Turkish coasts owing to weak presuppose of swordfish fishery. However, there is an important place of blue sharks in the global fin trade area. Therefore, population trend of this shark species is swift decreasing.

This short paper presents an innovation on the use of a bottom longline with only a single crew on a fishing boat in the Aegean Sea. The mainline was 0.80 mm in diameter and 75 m in length, with branch lines of 0.45 mm in diameter and 70 cm in length. Distance between two adjacent branch lines was 7 m. The total duration of the operation, excluding soak time, was 35 minutes for a total of 40 hooks. Although this small prototype seems to succeed, larger versions may cause operational difficulties. Therefore, we suggest that further handling techniques should be developed in the future for challenging tasks such as baiting and solo using., Bu kısa makale, Ege Denizi'nde tek kişilik (yani solo) bir dip paragatı kullanma yeniliğini sunmaktadır. Bu çalışma, Yenişakran, Çandarlı Körfezi (Ege Denizi)'nde bir kıyı balıkçısının 2017 - 2018 yılları arasında günlük balıkçılık seferleri boyunca balık av kayıtlarını sunmaktadır. Balıkçı, yıl boyunca hem uzatma ağını hem de paragatı kumlu ve deniz çayırlarıyla kaplı tabanda 5-25 m derinliklerde kullanmaktadır. Buörnek Türkiye denizleri boyunca maksimum boyuta sahipti ve Ege Denizi için butürün dördüncü bulgusudur., A female specimen of Alectis alexandrina (710 mm TL) wascaught on 15 July 2019 by an angler from the Bay of Gökova, Muğla, at a depthof 4 m. The specimen has the maximum size throughout the Turkish seas and it isfourth finding of this species for the Turkish Aegean Sea.

Güllük dalyanı, Ege bölgesinde aktif balıkçılık yapılan altı önemli dalyandan (Güllük, Karina, Akköy, Köyceğiz, Enez ve Homa) biridir. Güllük dalyanı, Güllük Körfezi'nin doğusunda 250 hektarlık bir alanda faaliyet yapmaktadır. Dalyan, 1971 yılında kurulmuş 78 kayıtlı üye sayısına sahip S.S. Güllük Su Ürünleri Kooperatifi ve 89 kayıtlı üye sayısına sahip 1996 yılında kurulmuş S.S. Kıyıkışlacık Su Ürünleri Kooperatifi tarafından ortak olarak işletilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, dalyan işletmecisi olan bu iki kooperatifin güncel durumu, dalyan içerisindeki avcılık tipleri ile av araç ve yöntemleri ortaya konmuştur. Güllük Körfezi kıyı alanı içerisinde balıkçılıkta önemli bir yer tutan bu dalyanın av araçlarının teknik özellikleri yerinde gözlemlerle; dalyan balıkçılarının bazı sosyo-demografik özellikleri ile dalyan işletmesinde karşılaşılan sorunlar anketler yoluyla elde edilmiştir. Dalyanda balıkçılık, kooperatif ortaklarının haftanın belirli günlerini paylaşması ile gerçekleşmektedir. Avcılık tek tip uzatma ağı ve pinter kullanan dört tekne ile sürdürülmektedir. Dalyan işletmecilerine göre dalyanın en önemli sorunlarının başında bölgede bulunan fabrikaların atık sularını dalyana deşarj etmeleri ve tatlı su kaynaklarının azalmasına bağlı olarak dalyan alanının gittikçe küçülmesi gelmektedir., Güllük lagoon is one of the six important lagoons (Güllük, Karina, Akköy, Köyceğiz, Enez and Homa) in where the active fisheries have been realizing. To the fishing activities carry out in the 250 hectares of Güllük Lagoon in Eastern Güllük Bay. Lagoon is leading jointly owned by the two Fishery Cooperatives. One of them is Güllük Fisheries Cooperative, founded in 1971 with 78 registered members and the other one is Kıyıkışlacık Fishery Cooperative, established in 1996 with 89 registered members. in this study, the current status of the two cooperatives managing the Güllük Lagoon, fishing gears and fishing methods in the lagoon were stated. Fishing gear types were studied by in situ observations. Socio-demographic characteristics of fishermen in Lagoon and problems concerning with managing of lagoon were obtained through surveys. Fishing cooperatives are following a pattern of sharing the fishing days of a week for fishing in the lagoon. Fishing has been performed with single type of gill net, fyke-net for eel with four fishing boats. According to manager of cooperatives the most important problems are discharging of waste water to the lagoon and increasingly shoaling area of lagoon, depending on the reduction of freshwater.

This study was carried out intermittently in four major fish markets, Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir and Trabzon between 2007 and 2011. A total of 151 employees, randomly selected were taken into consideration via face-to-face interviewing with questionnaire. The questionnaire includes age, marital status, work experience, duty, main job, supplementary work, run time, incomes, social insurance, smoke-alcohol consumptions and job security of the employee, and social conditions, workwear, meals, etc. of the markets. The handling procedures in wholesale fishmarkets are very important issue and these issues are concerning with education, level of knowledge and sociodemographic aspects of employees. Bu çalışmada, Datça-Bozburun Yarımadası’nın kıyı balıkçılık aktiviteleri, hedef balık türleri, balıkçılık sorunları, balıkçı kooperatiflerinin özellikleri, balıkçı tekneleri ve barınakları araştırılmıştır. Örneklemeler iki balıkçı kooperatifi (Datça ve Karaköy) ve 8 balıkçılık barınağında 2005-2006 yılları arasında yürütülmüştür. Bölgede toplam 32 kooperatif üyesi ile yaklaşık 170 balıkçı teknesi kaydedilmiştir. Üye sayılarına göre en büyük balıkçı kooperatifi Datça’dır. Bölgede kıyı balıkçılığı yoğun olarak paragat, sade ve fanyalı uzatma ağlarıyla yürütülmektedir. Uzatma ağı ve paragat balıkçılığında yakalanan balık ve omurgasızlar Ege ve Akdeniz’in yerleşik tipik balıklarıdır. Mullus barbatus, Sphyraena sphyraena, Seriola dumerilii, Pagellus erythrinus, Dentex dentex, Mullus surmuletus, Sarda sarda, Xiphias gladius, Epinephelus aeneus, Loligo vulgaris, Octopus vulgaris vb. ticari avdaki hedef türlerdir. There are total of 32 members in the co-operatives and about 170 vessels were recorded in the region. the biggest fishery co-operative was Datça in terms of members. the coastal fisheries in the region are densely carried out by longlining, gill and trammel netting. the fish and invertebrate species caught from set net or longline fishery were typical of those that inhabit coastal embayments in the Aegean and Mediterranean. Mullus barbatus, Sphyraena sphyraena, Seriola dumerilii, Pagellus erythrinus, Dentex dentex, Mullus surmuletus, Sarda sarda, Xiphias gladius, Epinephelus aeneus, Loligo vulgaris, Octopus vulgaris etc. are target species in the commercial catch. But fishery activities in the region are relatively found to be too weak due to short fishing season, low fishing capacity and a few fishermen.

Bu boyut hem Türk denizleri hem de Akdeniz içinmaksimum boy olarak kaydedilmiştir., A specimen of Boops boops, 402 mm in total length (986 g weight), was caught on 27 March 2018 by gillnet from Güllük Bay on the muddy bottom at a depth of 55 m. This record is the maximum size both forTurkish seas and Mediterranean basin.
