The present study aimed to determine and compare the hidden curriculum of two institutions that provide undergraduate nursing education in two different regions of Türkiye. The descriptive and cross-sectional research was conducted with 319 nursing students. Data were collected with the Introductory Information Form and Hidden Curriculum Evaluation Scale in Nursing Education (HCES-N). While the mean score of the HCES-N total score of the nursing students attending the university in the West of Türkiye was 163.31 ± 21.69. The HCES-N total mean score of the nursing students attending in the East of Türkiye was calculated as 145.50 ± 25.81. While the HCES-N total score, school atmosphere, and professional achievement scores of the nursing students attending the university in the West of Türkiye were statistically higher than the nursing students attending the university in the east, the student-teacher-school interaction score was statistically lower. It was determined that the perceptions of the students participating in the study towards the hidden curriculum were moderate, while the perceptions of the students studying in the West of Türkiye were better. This study was conducted to find out the relationship between death anxiety and religious coping styles in patients diagnosed with COVID-19. This cross-sectional and relational study was carried out with snowball sampling technique between May 15 and June 15, 2021. It was found that the participants had a mean Death Anxiety Scale total score of 10.42 ± 2.77 , they had a mean positive religious coping sub-scale score of 23.44 ± 2.66 and a mean negative religious coping sub-scale score of 12.82 ± 3.08. Statistically significant positive association was found between Death Anxiety Scale and Religious Coping Questionnaire's both positive and negative coping sub-scale scores (p <.05). It was found that patients diagnosed with COVID-19 had high level of death anxiety and positive religious coping styles. It was also found that death anxiety levels increased in the patients as their use of positive and negative coping increased. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: This study was carried out to adapt "COVID-19 Patients Social Stigmatization Scale" into Turkish and to determine its validity and reliability. Methods: This methodological study was conducted on healthcare professionals who were reached online between December 01 and 20, 2020. Results: As a result of the evaluations and analysis conducted, Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the scale was found as 0.74 for the total scale. Results of the EFA and CFA confirmed the three factor structure of the scale(discrimination, acceptance and fear). Conclusions: Turkish version of "COVID-19 Patients Social Stigmatization Scale" is a valid and reliable measurement tool to evaluate healthcare professionals' stigmatization levels for COVID-19 patients. This study was conducted to determine the effect of internships on nursing students' clinical decision-making skills and professional values. This descriptive study used a pre/post-test design with a single group. The study sample consisted of 100 nursing students. A significant difference was found between the interns' Nurses' Professional Values Scale total (pre-test=113.55±22.39; post-test=125.56±20.47). No significant difference was determined between the Clinical Decision Making in Nursing Scale total (pre-test=138.98±16.13; post-test=137.97±16.24) pre-test and post-test mean scores (p>0.05). It was concluded that nursing internships positively affected nursing students professional values, but did not affect their clinical decision-making skills. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: This study was carried out to determine the awareness of nurses on the use of music in nursing care. Method: 218 nurses working in a university hospital in Turkey were included in this descriptive and cross-sectional study. The data of the study were collected between May 1 and July 15, 2017 using the data collection form consisting of two parts which was prepared by the researchers. Descriptive statistics were used in the evaluation of data. Results: While 90.8% of the nurses participating in the study stated that they did not receive any education on the use of music in nursing care, 92.7% of them stated that they found the use of music in care useful, and 52.3% and 54.1% of them stated that music could be used in intensive care patients and in relieving stress, anxiety and worry, respectively. Furthermore, 59.2% of the nurses stated that they did not know the effects of the types of music/maqam on mood, 75.7% of them stated that they did not know at what times of the day they would make it listen and 73.4% of them stated that they did not know on which problems it was effective. Objectives: This study has been performed as definitive in order to investigate the nursing students’ perceptions of spirituality and spiritual care. Methods: This study has been carried out at Atatürk University Faculty of Health Sciences between August 2015 and September 2015. Population of this study has been constituted by the Ataturk University Faculty of Health Sciences nursing first, second, third and fourth class students completely. (n=780). Study has been completed without choosing a sample group with the participation of 305 students who accepted to attend the investigation. Introductory information forms and Spiritual Care-Giving Scale have been used during the data collection. Percentage, arithmetic mean and standard deviation, analysis of variance, Kruskal Wallis, Mann Whitney U, And T test has been used while evaluating the data. Results: In this study, following results has been founded: Average of nursing students is 21.02±175, 62 % of them are female, perceiving of their spirituality and spiritual caring is good level (X±SS =143.60 ±16.10). It has been determined that perceiving of nursing students’ spirituality and spiritual caring has been affected from lessons about the spiritual caring, finding the spiritual care involved with nursing care, choosing the nursing job by willingly and perceiving the students’ their own spiritual conditions (p<0.05). But It has been also determined, students’ spirituality and spiritual caring perceive is not affected of sexuality, marital status, economical condition and settlement. (p>0.05). Conclusion: It has been determined with this study that; there is a close relation between acknowledge level of students about spiritual care and students’ perceptions of spirituality and spiritual care. Accordingly integration spirituality and spiritual subject to the nursing lessons of students could be advised in order to increase their awareness for spirituality and spiritual caring. Aim: This study aims to identify the spiritual orientations and hopelessness levels of the patients diagnosed with COVID-19., Method: In this study designed as cross-sectional and correlational research, the sample was comprised of 199 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 at a research hospital located in eastern Turkey. Data were collected between December 2020 and January 2021. The research data were collected online by using survey form, the Spiritual Orientation Scale, and Beck Hopelessness Scale to reduce face-to-face interaction due to the isolation policy. The collected data were analyzed via descriptive statistics, the t-test, the Kruskal-Wallis test, and the Mann-Whitney U test., Results: The mean scores obtained by the participant COVID-19 patients from the Spiritual Orientations Scale and the Beck Hopelessness Scale were found, respectively, as 96.13 ± 20.16 and 6.15 ± 4.59 points. It was determined that the participants of the study had a high-level of spiritual orientations and low-level hopelessness, and there was a negative correlation between them (p < .05)., Conclusion: In this study, it was identified that the participant patients diagnosed with COVID-19 had high-level spiritual orientations and low-level hopelessness. It was found that as the participant COVID-19 patients had higher spiritual orientation levels, their hopelessness levels fell. Spirituality can reduce hopelessness by strengthening the coping mechanisms of COVID-19 patients. It can increase the psychological resistance of patients by increasing positive thoughts.
