Planetary ball milling assisted piezocatalysis for water cleaning application.

The porous ceramic BaTiO3 pellets were synthesized by using polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) as a pore former in 0–30 wt% proportion through solid route reaction method. Further, the synthesized porous BaTiO3 ceramic pellets were poled via pulse poling; a non traditional poling technique and their piezoactivity were examined by means of piezovoltage. There was significant enhancement in piezoelectric coefficient (d33) of porous BaTiO3 ceramic pellets using pulse poling technique. Later on, in the present study a quantitative analysis was done through comparision by degrading an organic dye by using poled/ unpoled porous BaTiO3 sample.

In the present work, the pine needle reinforced epoxy composite was fabricated, and its physical and mechanical properties were investigated by adding the rice husk flour to the composite. In the fabricated composite, the percentage composition of the pine needle fiber was kept constant at 20% by weight, and the composition percentage of the rice husk flour was increased up to 15% by weight with a difference of 5% weight. The hand layup technique was adopted in the fabrication process of the composite. Further, the investigation was carried out on chemically treated fiber reinforced composite. The chemical, sodium carbonate (Na2CO3), with a weight percentage of 10% was used for the treatment purpose. The results were analyzed and compared to the composites having the same composition but reinforced with treated and untreated pine needle and rice husk fibers. The results revealed that the addition of rice husk flour had a significant increase in the water absorption capacity; however, a decreasing trend was observed in the tensile strength, flexural strength, and impact energy. Further, the composite with chemically treated fibers had shown a positive effect on the properties of the composite.

Crowdsourcing enables human workers to perform designated tasks unbounded by time and location. As mobile devices and embedded cameras have become widely available, we deployed an image capture task globally for more geographically diverse images. Via our micro-crowdsourcing mobile application, users capture images of surrounding subjects, tag with keywords, and can choose to open source their work. We open-sourced 478,000 images collected from worldwide users as a dataset "Open Images Extended" that aims to add global diversity to imagery training data. We describe our approach and workers' feedback through survey responses from 171 global contributors to this task.

Technology is getting better and better day by day, Robots is being introduced as an alternative of humans. In this era it is necessary that all parts of the society grow equally either it is space research , medical or automobile same thing applies on the domestic sector nowadays cleaning method is being shifted towards robotic cleaners. This paper presents the design and development of Fully Automated Hybrid Home Cleaning Robot. It can perform tasks like moping and vacuum cleaning without any help of humans.

BackgroundCare provision for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) patients require a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) approach. Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and MND patients often find it challenging to communicate effectively. Communication is particularly difficult and discontinuous in patients with rapidly changing conditions such as MND. Patient Passports (PP) can be used as a tool to improve communication and patient experience. We studied the place of PP in MND care.AimTo explore the views of MND patients and staff involved in MND care regarding the use of PP.MethodsMND patients (n=35) and staff involved in MND care were consulted using semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions.ResultsOverall, themes emerged overwhelmingly favoured the use of a MND passport. These include improvement in communication, standardising healthcare provision across different regions and allowing for greater coordination of care. The emergency care providers and community HCP felt the PP was paramount to communicate with the parent team. However, concern was raised for the need to tailor it to the patient.ConclusionThe PP was recognised as a distinct need. However, to validate the above findings, wider MND patient/carer and HCP survey is necessary.

Thorup and Zwick, in the seminal paper [Journal of ACM, 52(1),2005, pp 1-24], showed that a weighted undirected graph onnvertices can be preprocessed in subcubic time to designa data structure which occupies only subquadratic space, and yet,for any pair of vertices, can answer distance query approximatelyin constant time. The data structure is termed as approximatedistance oracle. Subsequently, there has been improvement in theirpreprocessing time, and presently the best known algorithms [4,3]achieve expected O(n2) preprocessingtime for these oracles. For a class of graphs, these algorithmsindeed run in θ(n2) time. Inthis paper, we are able to break this quadratic barrier at theexpense of introducing a (small) constant additive error forunweighted graphs. In achieving this goal, we have been able topreserve the optimal size-stretch trade offs of the oracles. One ofour algorithms can be extended to weighted graphs, where theadditive error becomes 2·wmax(u,v) - herewmax(u,v) is the heaviestedge in the shortest path between vertices u,v.
