- Abstract
One hundred seventy four gastric cancer patients admitted to our department from 1956 to 1959. The cases surviving over 5 years were 19 patients and the 5-year survival rate in our department was 26.0%. It is not satisfactory to us considering the up-to-date progress in medical science. Between CAT., SAT., and INF. of the new Japanese classification on gastric carcinoma and prognosis, there is found a remarkable correlotion by this survey. Also, there is a close relation between prognosis and lymphnode conditions during operation, carcinoma infiltration state into the stomach wall. We should have many data before the operation to consider and compare with the post-operation data.
