Rainfall prediction is a challenging task and has extreme significance in weather forecasting. Accurate rainfall prediction can play a great role in agricultural, aviation, natural phenomenon, flood, construction, transport, etc. Weather or climate is assumed to be one of the most complex systems. Again, chaos, also called as “butterfly effect,” limits our ability to make weather predictable. So, it is not easy to predict rainfall by conventional machine learning approaches. However, several kinds of research have been proposed to predict rainfall by using different computational methods. To accomplish chaotic rainfall prediction system for Bangladesh, in this study, historical data set-driven long short term memory (LSTM) networks method has been used, which overcomes the complexities and chaos-related problems faced by other approaches. The proposed method has three principal phases: (i) The most useful 10 features are chosen from 20 data attributes. (ii) After that, a two-layer LSTM model is designed. (iii) Both conventional machine learning approaches and recent works are compared with the LSTM model. This approach has gained 97.14% accuracy in predicting rainfall (in millimeters), which outperforms the state-of-the-art solutions. Also, this work is a pioneer work to the rainfall prediction system for Bangladesh.

Early rice disease detection is vital in preventing damage to agricultural product output and quantity in the agricultural field. Manual observations of rice diseases are tedious, costly, and time-consuming, especially when classifying disease patterns and color while dealing with non- native diseases. Hence, image processing and Machine Learning (ML) techniques are used to detect rice disease early and within a relatively brief time period. This article aims to demonstrate the performance of different ML algorithms in rice disease detection through image processing. We critically examined different techniques, and the outcomes of previous research have been reviewed to compare the performance of rice disease classifications. Performance has been evaluated based on the criteria of feature extraction, clustering, segmentation, noise reduction, and level of accuracy of disease detection techniques. This paper also showcases various algorithms for different datasets in terms of training methods, image preprocessing with clustering and filtering criteria, and testing with reliable outcomes. Through this review, we provide valuable insights into the current state of ML-based approaches for the early detection of rice diseases, and assist future research and improvement. The amount of human action video data is increasing rapidly due to the growth of multimedia data, which increases the problem of how to process the large number of human action videos efficiently. Therefore, we devise a novel approach for human action similarity estimation in the distributed environment. The efficiency of human action similarity estimation depends on feature descriptors. Existing feature descriptors such as Local Binary Pattern and Local Ternary Pattern can only extract texture information but cannot obtain the object shape information. To resolve this, we introduce a new feature descriptor, namely Edge based Local Pattern descriptor (ELP). ELP can extract object shape information besides texture information and ELP can also deal with intensity fluctuations. Moreover, we explore Apache Spark to perform feature extraction in the distributed environment.
