Financial planning involves systematical forecasting and calculation of cash and financial flows into and out of the company. Financial planning is the reconciliation of cash inflows and outflows, both in terms of amount and time by forecasting all types of cash inflows and outflows that will occur during the company's operations. It allows to quickly determine the solution process, make analysis, forecasts and strategic decisions. This study aims to develop financial forecasting models using univariate deep learning methods. For this purpose Long Short Term Memory (LSTM), Bi-directional Long Short Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) and Convolutional Long Short Term Memory (ConvLSTM) have been used. The performance of the developed models has been evaluated using Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The dataset includes 464 rows and total inbound and total outbound invoice amount data from June 22nd, 2020 to March 31st, 2022. Forecast models have been developed for 2 different weeks (28.02.2022 – 04.03.2022 and 21.03.2022 – 25.03.2022) and 2 different months (January 2022 and March 2022) randomly selected from the dataset. When the forecast models developed for inbound invoice amount and outbound invoice amount are examined, it is found that satisfactory results have not been obtained for the monthly forecasts. Delivery time refers to the time elapsed from the moment the order is created to the delivery of the product to the final consumer. It is extremely important to predict the delivery time in order to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth logistics processes. The aim of this study is to predict the delivery time using Support Vector Machine (SVM) with and without consecutive look-back and periodic look-back approaches. A sample dataset obtained from Kaggle was used. Mean Absolute Error (MAE) was utilized to evaluate the performance of the prediction models. The models include the non-exercise physiological variables (gender, age, weight and height) and questionnaire data. The predictor variables used to develop prediction models include gender, age, weight, height, treadmill speed, heart rate and stage. The performance of the prediction models have been evaluated by calculating Standard Error of Estimate (SEE) and Multiple Correlation Coefficient (R) and using 10-fold cross validation. By using the Relief-F attribute selection algorithm, the score of each attribute has been calculated. Seven different UBP10 and UBP60 prediction models have been developed by removing the attribute with the lowest score at a time. Maximal Oxygen Uptake (VO2max) is the most siginificant indicator for cardiorespiratory fitness. In this study, Support Vector Machines (SVM) based prediction models have been developed to predict the VO2max of 185 healty subjects to which a submaximal treadmill exercise test has been applied. To form the VO2max regression equation, a dataset including 185 test subjects have been utilized. Using 10-fold cross validation on the dataset, standard error of estimates (SEE’s) and multiple correlation coefficients (R’s) of the models have been calculated. For comparison purposes, VO2max prediction models using Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) and Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) have been also developed. In conclusion, it is observed that SVM-based VO2max prediction models yield lower SEE’s than the ones obtained by using MLR-based and MLP-based predicton models., Maksimum oksijen tüketimi (VO2max), kardiyo respiratuar uygunluğu belirleyen en önemli bileşendir. Bu çalışmada, submaksimal koşu bandı egzersizi uygulanan sağlıklı yetişkinlerin VO2max’ını tahmin etmek için Destek Vektör Makinesi (DVM) tabanlı modeller geliştirilmiştir. VO2max regresyon denklemini oluşturabilmek için 185 denek içeren veri kümesi kullanılmıştır. 10 katlı çapraz doğrulama kullanılarak, modellerin standart tahmin hatası (STH) ve çoklu korelasyon katsayısı (KK) hesaplanmıştır. Karşılaştırma yapabilmek amacı ile Çoklu Doğrusal Regresyon (ÇDR) yöntemi ve Çok Katmanlı Algılayıcı (ÇKA) kullanılarak VO2max tahmin modelleri de geliştirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, DVM tabanlı modellere ait STH değerlerinin ÇDR ve ÇKA tabanlı modellerin STH değerlerinden daha düşük olduğu gözlemlenmiştir.

Piyasa takas fiyatı işlem gören bir varlığın veya malın denge parasal değeridir ve elektrik fiyatlarının hesaplanmasında da önemli bir metriktir. Ülkemizde de firmalar tarafından elektrik fiyatı belirlenirken ve oluşacak fiyat değişimlerinde, piyasa takas fiyatları hesaplanır. Bu çalışmada, saatlik piyasa takas fiyatı verileri kullanılarak bir günlük tahminler yapabilmek amacıyla 24 adet tahminlerden oluşan tahmin modelleri oluşturuldu. The market clearing price is the equilibrium monetary value of a traded asset or good and is an important metric in the calculation of electricity prices. In our country, when the electricity price is determined by the companies and in the price changes, market clearing prices are calculated. In this study, forecasting models consisting of 24 forecasts were created in order to make one day forecasts using hourly market clearing price data. The main objective of this thesis is to estimate the market clearing price of electricity using Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Long Short Term Memory (LSTM), which are machine learning and deep learning methods and to create appropriate models. The performance of the predicted models was evaluated by calculating the Mean Absolute Percent Error (MAPE) value. Accurate prediction of Internet network traffic plays an important role both in academical literature and the Internet network industry. World-known corporations like Internet Service Providers (ISP), hosting companies and all types of web sites can benefit from the prediction of the amount of network data usage by arranging their business plans according to the customers’ needs and preferences. In this thesis, it was aimed to develop a new software that can predict the Internet data traffic using Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) combined with Time Series Analysis. The software has been developed using MATLAB programming language. Two different prediction modes have been integrated into the software, including ‘Predict’ (open-loop prediction) and ‘Forecast’ (closed-loop prediction). The prediction models have been evaluated with respect to their Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) values. Quality control in the fabric industry involves a set of standards or guidelines that help guarantee a product meets certain parameters as well as customer satisfaction. Fabric defect detection (also called inspection) is a quality control process aimed at identifying and locating defects. The aim of this thesis is to build an application based on image processing and deep learning methods to automatically detect the defects on the fabric surface and classify them. Discrete Fourier transform (DFT). Normalized cross-correlations, homogeneity equalization, and Gabor filters have been used in image processing, Faster Region Proposal Networks (Faster-R CNN) has been used in classification. The mean square errors (RMSE’s) has been used for computing the detecting and classification errors. Tahmin modellerine yönelik yöntemlerin, MAPE’lere dayanan performansları bakımından en iyiden en kötüsüne kadar olan sıraları CNN, RNN, LSTM ve ARIMA'dir, modellerin tahmininde ise yöntemlerin uygunluk sırası CNN, LSTM, RNN ve ARIMA olarak görünmektedir. The main objective of this thesis is to develop new accurate models for time series forecasting of currency exchange rates using deep learning methods, namely Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) to forecast closing rates of three currency pairs, which are (USD/TRY), (EUR/TRY) and (EUR/USD) for hourly and daily data sets. Two different prediction approaches created by the development environment, which are prediction models (train-test ratio) and forecasting models (number of forecasts). The performance of all models was evaluated by calculating the values of Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). According to the results obtained, the forecasting models yields better results compared to prediction models for all methods. Generally, CNN based models show better performance than the models developed by other methods. The order of the methods for prediction models in terms of their performance based on the MAPE’s, from the best to the worst, is CNN, RNN, LSTM and ARIMA while for forecasting models the favorability order for the methods appears as CNN, LSTM, RNN and ARIMA. Bu tezin amacı, üçüncü nesil mobil şebekelerin devre anahtarlamalı ses ve paket anahtarlamalı veri trafikleri için ileri yönlü tahminin yapılmasını sağlayan daha akıllı modeller geliştirmektir. Trafik tahmin modelleri ilk olarak makine öğrenimi ile oluşturulmuş ve içerik olarak dört farklı yöntem kullanılmıştır. Bu yöntemler sırası ile Destek Vektör Makinesi (Support Vector Machine - SVM), Çok Katmanlı Algılayıcı (Multilayer Perceptron - MLP), Radyal Tabanlı Fonksiyon Sinir Ağı (Radial Basis Function Neural Network – RBF) ve Rasgele Orman’dır (Random Forest). İlave olarak istatistiki bir yöntem olan Holt-Winters methodu kullanılarak trafik tahmin modeli geliştirilmiştir. Trafik tahmin modelleri üretilirken UMTS şebekesine ait olan dört farklı tipteki gerçek trafik bilgileri kullanılmıştır. Modellerin performansı Ortalama Mutlak Yüzde Hata (MAPE) değeri hesaplanarak değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuçlar, genel olarak SVM tabanlı ve Holt-Winters tabanlı modellerin diğer yöntemlerden daha iyi performans elde ettiğini göstermektedir. The purpose of this thesis is to derive models for traffic characteristics of a 3G network which is commercially deployed in Turkey and predict voice and data traffic by using various machine learning methods. The machine learning methods which were employed are Support Vector Machines (SVM), Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), Random Forest (RF) and Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBF). Additionally, the Holt-Winters method has been applied to develop prediction models as a statistical method. Four different type of UMTS network traffic data have been utilized in order to build traffic prediction models. The performance of the forecasting models for the data sets has been assessed using Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). Finally, the performance of statistical and machine learning regression methods have been compared and the results show that SVM and Holt-Winters based models usually perform better than the ones obtained by the other methods. İlk amaç; maksimal, submaksimal ve anket değişkenlerinin ilk defa ikili ve üçlü kombinasyonlarını kullanarak yeni hibrit nitelik seçme tabanlı maksimum oksijen tüketimi (VO2max) tahmin modelleri geliştirmektir. Model geliştirme için Destek Vektör Makinesi, yapay sinir ağları tabanlı ve ağaç yapılı makine öğrenme yöntemleri ile birleştirilmiş Relief-F, mRMR ve MLFS nitelik seçicileri kullanılmıştır. İkinci amaç ise; Relief-F, mRMR ve MLFS'den oluşan ve önemli VO2max tahmin değişkenlerinin belirlenmesinde daha güvenilir kararlar almak ve daha doğru modeller geliştirmek üzere üç bireysel nitelik seçicisinin konsensüs özelliklerini kullanan yeni bir hibrit nitelik seçici algoritma tasarlamaktır. Modellerin performansı üç farklı veri seti üzerinde 10 katlı çapraz doğrulama kullanılarak, çoklu korelasyon katsayıları (R’s) ve ortalama karekök hataları (RMSE’s) hesaplanarak değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar incelendiğinde, literatürde yer alan ve sadece maksimal, submaksimal veya anket değişkenleri ile oluşturulan nitelik seçme tabanlı normal modellerin sonuçlarına göre, bu tezde önerilen hibrit modellere ait R ve RMSE değerlerinin belirgin bir şekilde iyileştiği görülmüştür. Ayrıca, önerilen hibrit nitelik seçicisine dayalı modellerinin; Relief-F, mRMR veya MLFS’nin bireysel olarak uygulanması ile oluşturulan modellerine göre karşılaştırılabilir veya en iyi durumda ortalama %12.46’ya kadar daha düşük hata oranları ürettiği görülmüştür. Maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) is an essential part of health and physical fitness, and is defined as the highest rate of oxygen consumption attainable during maximal or exhaustive exercise. The knowledge of VO2max is used for many different aims in sport and medical sciences. In sport sciences, it is especially useful as a sign of endurance capacity of an athlete, representing the upper limit for endurance performance. In medical sciences, knowledge of VO2max is utilized to determine the cardiorespiratory fitness level of an individual, which is highly associated with the risk of heart disease, lung cancer, diabetes and many other diseases. During the maximal graded exercise test (GXT), measurement of VO2max is known as the most proper technique for the evaluation of endurance capacity. However, in spite of high level of accuracy, direct measurement of VO2max is related to a number of practical difficulties and limitations. GXT’s require trained staff as well as costly laboratory equipment, and are not convenient for some individuals, as the tests are of strenuous nature which in turn could pose a hazard to older or higher risk individuals. Also, GXT’s are time-consuming, and not suitable for measuring VO2max of large populations outside of the laboratory. The practical limitations of direct testing have given rise to develop various regression models for predicting VO2max rather than measuring it. Within the course of the past decade, numerous VO2max prediction models based on maximal, submaximal or questionnaire variables have been proposed in literature. The purpose of this thesis is to develop new hybrid admission decision prediction models by using different machine learning methods including Support Vector Machines (SVM), Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), Radial Basis Function (RBF) Network, TreeBoost (TB) and K-Means Clustering (KMC) combined with feature selection algorithms to investigate the effect of the predictor variables on the admission decision of a candidate to the School of Physical Education and Sports at Cukurova University. Three feature selection algorithms including Relief-F, F-Score and Correlation-based Feature Selection (CFS) have been considered. Experiments have been conducted on the datasets, which contain data of participants who applied to the School in 2006 and 2007. The datasets have been randomly split into training and test sets using 10-fold cross validation as well as different percentage ratios. The performance of the prediction models for the datasets has been assessed using classification accuracy, specificity, sensitivity, positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV). The purpose of this thesis is to forecast the amount of network traffic in Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) -based networks by using different time lags and various machine learning methods including Support Vector Machines (SVM), Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), Radial Basis Function (RBF) Neural Network, M5P (a decision tree with linear regression functions at the nodes), Random Forest (RF), Random Tree (RT), and Reduced Error Prunning Error (REPTree), and statistical regression methods including Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) and Holt-Winters and compare the performance of statistical and machine learning methods. Two different Internet Service Providers' (ISPs) traffic data have been utilized to build traffic forecasting models. The first 66% of the data sets has been utilized as training sets and the rest has been used as test sets. The performance of the forecasting models for the data sets has been assessed using Mean Absulote Percentage Error (MAPE). Üst Vücut Gücü (ÜVG), kros kayakçıların yarış esnasındaki performanslarını etkileyen en önemli faktörlerden biridir. ÜVG tahmini için bazı çalışmalar bulunsa da, şimdiye kadar, makine öğrenme metotlarıyla çeşitli özellik seçimi algoritmaları birlikte kullanılarak UBP tahmininde ayrımcı özellikleri tanımlamak için hiçbir çalışma bulunmamaktadır. Bu tezin amacı, Relief-F, mRMR ve CFS nitelik seçimi algoritmalarıyla Genelleştirilmiş Regresyon Sinir Ağı (General Regression Neural Network –GRNN), Ağaç Destekleme (Tree Boost), Çok Katmanlı Algılayıcı (Multilayer Perceptron- MLP), Destek Vektör Makinesi (Support Vector Machine - SVM), Radyal Tabanlı Fonksiyon Sinir Ağı (Radial Basis Function Neural Network – RBF) ve Tekli Karar Ağacı (Single Decision Tree - SDT) kullanılarak kros kayak yarışçılarının 10 saniye ÜVG (ÜVG10) ve 60 saniye ÜVG (ÜVG60) tahmini için yeni tahmin modelleri geliştirmektir. Söz konusu regresyon yöntemleri kullanılarak, kros kayakçılarının ÜVG10 ve ÜVG60 tahmini için birçok çeşitli tahmin modeli geliştirilmiştir. Model testleri için 10 katlı çapraz doğrulama uygulanmıştır. Tahmin modellerinin verimliliği, onların çoklu korelasyon katsayıları (R), standart tahmin hataları (SEE) ve mutlak yüzdelik hata ortalamaları (MAPE) ile hesaplanmıştır. Sonuçlar göstermektedir ki, GRNN tabanlı tahmin modelleri diğer regresyon yöntemleriyle üretilmiş olan tahmin modellerinden çok daha iyi performans (en yüksek R ve en düşük SEE) vermektedir. Ayrıca, tahmin değişkenlerinin tamamını kullanmak yerine daha az miktarda tahmin değişkeni kullanmak, benzer hata oranları ile ÜVG10 ve ÜVG60 tahmini için yararlı olabilir. Upper body power (UBP) is one of the most important factors affecting the performance of cross-country skiers during races. Although some initial studies have already attempted to predict UBP, until now, no study has attempted to apply machine learning methods combined with various feature selection algorithms to identify the discriminative features for prediction of UBP. The purpose of this study is to develop new prediction models for predicting the 10-second UBP (UBP10) and 60-second UBP (UBP60) of cross-country skiers by using General Regression Neural Networks (GRNN), Radial-Basis Function Network (RBF), Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Single Decision Tree (SDT) and Tree Boost (TB) along with the Relief-F feature selection algorithm, minimum redundancy maximum relevance (mRMR) feature selection algorithm and the Correlation-based Feature Subset Selection (CFS). Several models have been developed to predict UBP10 and UBP60 of cross-country skiers using two datasets. 10-fold cross validation has been performed for model testing. The efficiency of the prediction models has been calculated with their multiple correlation coefficients (R’s), standard error of estimates (SEE’s) and mean absolute percentage errors (MAPE’s). The results emphasize that GRNN-based prediction models show higher performance than the other regression methods. Also, using less number of predictor variables than the full set of predictor variables can be useful for prediction of UBP10 and UBP60 with comparable error rates. Bu çalışma Ç.Ü. Tahmin modellerini geliştirmek için kullanılan sınıflandırıcılar Destek Vektör Makineleri (SVM), Çok Katmanlı Algılayıcı (MLP), Lojistik Regresyon (LR), Radyal Taban Fonksiyonlu Ağ (RBF), Tekli Karar Ağacı (SDT) ve K-Ortalama sınıflandırmadır. Deneyler sırasıyla 2006 ve 2007 yıllarında Okula başvuranadayların gerçek sınav sonuçlarını içeren iki veri seti üzerinde yapılmıştır. Test ve doğrulama modeli için, 5-kat ve 10-kat çapraz doğrulamanın yanı sıra eğitim / test verilerinin birçok farklı yüzde ayrımları kullanılmıştır. Veri setleri üzerindeki sınıflandırıcı performansları sınıflandırma doğruluğu ve diğer performans ölçütleri hesaplanarak değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuçlar, 10 kat çapraz doğrulama ile SVM’nin sınıflandırma doğruluğunun, 2006 ve 2007 veri kümeleri için 97.90 ve 91.45 ile en yüksek değerlerini verdiğini göstermektedir. The purpose of this thesis is to develop new prediction models to estimate the admission decision of a candidate to the School of Physical Education and Sports at Cukurova University once he knows his scores from the physical ability test. The classifiers used to develop the prediction models include Support Vector Machine (SVM), Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), Logistic Regression (LR), Radial Basis Function (RBF) Network, Single Decision Tree (SDT) and K-Means Clustering. Experimentshave been conducted on two datasets that include real test results of the candidates who applied to the School in 2006 and 2007, respectively. For model testing and validation, 5-fold and 10-fold cross validation as well as several different percent splits of training/testing data have been used. The performance of the classifiers on the datasets has been evaluated by calculating the classification accuracy and several other performance metrics. The results show that classification accuracy of the SVM classifier using 10-fold cross validation achieves the highest accuracy with 97.90% and 91.45% for the 2006 and 2007 datasets, respectively. Bu tezin amacı, nitelik seçme algoritmaları ile birleştirilmiş Destek Vektör Makineleri (SVM) ve Çok Katmanlı Algılayıcı (MLP) kullanarak yeni VO2max tahmin modelleri geliştirmektir. Relief-F ve Korelasyon-tabanlı Nitelik Seçme (CFS) algoritmaları kullanılmıştır. Tüm veri setleri üzerinde Relief-F uygulayarak, niteliklerin sıralaması elde edilmiştir. Her defasında en düşük skora sahip nitelik elenerek, veri setinin boyutu küçültülmüştür. Ayrı olarak, tüm veri setleri üzerinde CFS kullanılarak en iyi nitelikleri barındıran alt kümeler seçilmiştir. Although numerous studies exist to predict VO2max, to date, no study has attempted to apply machine learning methods combined with feature selection algorithms to identify the discriminative features for prediction of VO2max. The purpose of this thesis is to develop new VO2max prediction models using Support Vector Machines (SVM) and Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) combined with feature selection algorithms. Two feature selection algorithms, Relief-F and Correlationbased Feature Selection (CFS), have been considered. By applying Relief-F on the full data sets, the ranking of the features have been obtained. Dimensionality of data sets is reduced by removing the feature with the lowest score at a time before being passed on to the regression method. CFS has been used separately on the full data sets to find out the best subset of features. Using 10-fold cross validation on four different data sets, the performance of prediction models has been evaluated by calculating their multiple correlation coefficients (R’s) and standart error of estimates (SEE’s). The results show that SVM-based VO2max prediction models perform better (i.e. yield lower SEE’s and higher R’s) than the prediction models developed by other regression methods. Bu çalışma Ç.Ü. Farklı veri setleri ve protokol, yaş, cinsiyet, boy, kilo, vücut kitle indeksi (BMI), kalp atım hızı (HR), laktat eşiğindeki kalp atım hızı (HRLT) ve egzersiz süresi değişkenlerinin kombinasyonları ile bir çok UBP ve VO2max tahmin modeli oluşturulmuştur. Veri setleri üzerinde 10 katlı çapraz doğrulama kullanarak, modellerin performansı standart tahmin hatası (SEE) ve çoklu korelasyon katsayısı (R) hesaplanarak değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, SVM-RBF yöntemiyle geliştirilen UBP ve VO2max tahmin modellerinin diğer regresyon yöntemleri ile geliştirilen tahmin modellerine göre daha performanslı (daha düşük SEE ve daha yüksek R) olduğunu göstermiştir. Several UBP and VO2max prediction models have been developed using different data sets and combination of the predictor variables such as protocol, age, gender, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), heart rate (HR), heart rate at lactate threshold (HRLT) and exercise time. By using 10-fold cross-validation on the data sets, the performance of the models has been evaluated by calculating their standard error of estimates (SEE’s) and multiple correlation coefficients (R’s). The results show that SVM-RBF-based UBP and VO2max prediction models perform better (i.e. yield lower SEE’s and higher R’s) than the prediction models developed by other regression methods. Maksimal oksijen tüketimi (VO2max), kişinin yoğun ve maksimal egzersiz sırasında kullandığı maksimum oksijen miktarını ifade eder. Bu tezin amacı, submaksimal ve anket değişkenlerini kullanarak doğru Maksimal Oksijen Tüketimi (VO2max) tahmin modelleri geliştirmektir. VO2max tahmin modellerini geliştirmek için Destek Vektör Makineleri (SVM), Çoklu Doğrusal Regresyon (MLR) ve Çok Katmanlı Algılayıcı (MLP) gibi regresyon yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Tahmin modellerin performansı çoklu korelasyon katsayısı (R) ve standart tahmin hatası (SEE) hesaplanarak belirlenmiştir. Sonuçlar göstermiştir ki, submaksimal ve standart egzersize dayalı olmayan değişkenlere anket değişkenlerinin eklenmesi VO2max tahmin modellerinin doğruluğunu belirgin şekilde arttırmıştır. SVM modellerinin sonuçları MLP ve MLR modellerinden elde edilenler ile karşılaştırılmış ve SVM bazlı VO2max tahmin modellerinin diğer regresyon modellerinden üretilen tahmin modellerinden daha iyi performans gösterdiği görülmüştür (Daha düşük SEE ve daha düşük R). Maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) refers to the maximum amount of oxygen that an individual can utilize during intense or maximal exercise. The purpose of this thesis is to develop accurate VO2max prediction models using submaximal and questionnaire variables. Regression methods such as Support Vector Machines (SVM), Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) and Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) have been used for developing VO2max prediction models. The performance of prediction models has been evaluated by calculating their multiple correlation coefficients (R’s) and standard error of estimates (SEE’s). The results show that the accuracy of VO2max prediction models based on submaximal and standard non-exercise variables could be significantly improved by including questionnaire variables in prediction models. The results of SVM models have been also compared with the ones obtained by MLP and MLR and it turned out that SVM-based VO2max prediction models perform better (i.e. yield lower SEE’s and higher R’s) than the prediction models developed by other regression methods. In this thesis, a congestion control algorithm to improve 64-node, 2-Dimensional (2-D) Simultaneous Optical Multiprocessor Exchange Bus (SOME-Bus) performance is proposed. The congestion control algorithm is tested via simulation under several synthetic traffic patterns using Optimized Network Engineering Tool (OPNET) Modeler. Performance measures such as average processor utilization, average channel waiting time, average input waiting time and average network response time have been collected before and after applying the algorithm. For Client-Server traffic model, the proposed algorithm is able to increase the average processor utilization, between 1.59% and 12.57% with 4 threads, and between 1.21% and 13.91% for 8 threads; decrease the average channel waiting time between 3.47% and 16.17% with 4 threads, and between 6.18% and 25.02% for 8 threads; the average input waiting time between 2.41% and 19.29% with 4 threads, and between 4.38% and 27.85% for 8 threads; the average network response time between 2.85% and 21.07% with 4 threads, and between 4.99% and 30.27% for 8 threads. For Asynchronous Message Passing traffic model, the proposed algorithm is able to increase the average processor utilization between 1.86% and 13.75% with 4 threads, and between 1.04% and 13.91% for 8 threads; decrease the average channel waiting time between 4.26% and 18.07% with 4 threads, and between 10.55% and 29.53% for 8 threads; the average input waiting time between 4.63% and 22.06% with 4 threads, and between 5.67% and 30.22% for 8 threads; the average network response time between 17.53% and 44.71% with 4 threads, and between 31.16% and 52.09% for 8 threads. Bu tezde, 64 düğümlü SOME-Bus ağının performansını arttıracak bir tıkanıklık kontrolü algoritması önerilmiştir. Tıkanıklık kontrolü algoritması, benzetim metodu ve OPNET Modeler kullanılarak birçok yapay trafik modeli altında test edilmiştir. Ortalama işlemci verimi, kanal kuyruğunda ortalama bekleme süresi, giriş kuyruğunda ortalama bekleme süresi ve ortalama ağ cevap zamanı gibi performans kriterleri, algoritmadan önce ve sonra olmak üzere iki durum için de ölçülmüştür. Sunucu-İstemci trafik modelinde önerilen algoritma ortalama işlemci verimini, 4 adet iş parçacığı kullanıldığında, %1.59 ile %12.57; 8 adet iş parçacığı kullanıldığında, %1.21 ile %13.91 arasındaki oranlarla yükseltmiş olup; kanal kuyruğunda ortalama bekleme süresini ise 4 adet iş parçacığı kullanıldığında, %3.47 ile %16.17; 8 adet iş parçacığı kullanıldığında, %6.18 ile %25.02 arasındaki oranlarla düşürmüştür. Giriş kuyruğunda ortalama bekleme süresini 4 adet iş parçacığı kullanıldığında, %2.41 ile %19.29; 8 adet iş parçacığı kullanıldığında, %4.38 ile %27.85; ortalama ağ cevap zamanını ise 4 adet iş parçacığı kullanıldığında, %2.85 ile %21.07; 8 adet iş parçacığı kullanıldığında, %4.99 ile %30.27 arasındaki oranlarla düşürmüştür. Asenkron Mesaj Geçişi trafik modelinde ise önerilen algoritma ortalama işlemci verimini, 4 adet iş parçacığı kullanıldığında, %1.86 ile %13.75; 8 adet iş parçacığı kullanıldığında, %1.04 ile %13.91 arasındaki oranlarla arttırmış olup; kanal kuyruğunda ortalama bekleme süresini ise 4 adet iş parçacığı kullanıldığında, %4.26 ile %18.07; 8 adet iş parçacığı kullanıldığında, %10.55 ile %29.53 arasındaki oranlarla azaltmıştır. Distributed shared memory (DSM) systems present strong advantages in terms of scalability, programmability and cost effectiveness. However, obtaining high performance out of these systems turns out to be much more cumbersome than expected due to the increasing remote memory access latency as the number of processors increase. The underlying interconnection network has taken on an increasingly important role in overall performance of DSM systems. Twodimensional (2D) broadcast-based optical architectures are a popular solution. In this thesis, DSM on 2D broadcast-based optical architecture is simulated by using OPNET Modeler and the performance of the system is improved by message priority and combining techniques under different traffic patterns, including uniform, hot region and bit permutations. The simulated system contains 64 nodes. Each node has a server that processes directory, cache and processor messages, two output channels and two input queues, one for horizontal and the other for vertical dimension. Scenarios are run to measure average network response time, average input waiting time and average channel waiting time for varying values of DSM parameters such as the ratio of the mean channel service time to mean thread run time, probability of a cache block being in modified state and the fraction of write misses. The results show that combining reduces average channel waiting time between 13% and 29%, while priority reduces average input waiting time between 7% and 43% on average. With the application of message priority and combining, between 7% and 40% performance increase for average network response time has gained. Dağıtık ortak hafıza (DOH) sistemleri ölçeklenebilirlik, programlanabilirlik ve maliyet efektifliği açısından güçlü avantajlar sunsa da, bu sistemlerden yüksek performans elde etmek, sistemdeki işlemci sayısı artışı ile artan bellek erişim gecikmeleri nedeniyle beklenenden çok daha zordur. Ara bağlantı ağı mimarisi DOH sistemlerinin performansını belirlemede gittikçe daha da önemli bir hal almaktadır. İki boyutlu yayım tabanlı optik mimariler iyi bir çözüm sunmaktadır. Bu tezde, iki boyutlu optik tabanlı ağ üzerinde DOH sistemi OPNET Modeler benzetim programı kullanılarak modellenmiş ve sistem performansı mesaj öncelik ve birleştirme işlemleriyle normal, yoğun ve bit permütasyon trafik modelleri altında artırılmıştır. Benzetimi yapılan sistem, her biri işlemci, ön bellek ve dizin modüllerine hizmet eden bir sunucu, iki çıkış kanalı ve iki giriş kuyruğu içeren toplam 64 düğüm içerir. Yaratılan senaryolar; ortalama servis süresinin ortalama kanal bekleme süresine oranı, bir ön bellek bloğunun güncellenmiş olma olasılığı ve yazma isteklerinin tüm isteklere oranı gibi çeşitli DOH parametreleri altında ortalama ağ gecikmesini, ortalama çıkış kanalı bekleme süresini ve ortalama giriş kuyrukları bekleme süresini ölçer. Elde edilen sonuçlar, mesaj birleştirme işleminin ortalama çıkış kanalı bekleme süresini %13 ile %29 oranı arasında, mesaj öncelik işlemininse ortalama giriş kuyrukları bekleme süresini %7 ile %43 oranı arasında düşürdüğünü göstermiştir. Yayın tabanlı mimarilere sahip ağlardaki gecikme ve darboğazların etkisini azaltmak için kanal çıkış kuyruğundaki mesajlar diğer tüm orijinal mesajların da verilerini içerecek şekilde birleştirilerek yeni bir mesaj formu oluşturulur. Bu tezde mesaj birleştirme mekanizmasının performansı; 64 düğümlü, düşük gecikmeli, yüksek bant genişliğine sahip yayın tabanlı fiber optik bir ara bağlantı ağı olan 2D SOME-Bus ağı üzerinde mesaj geçişi protokolü çalıştırılarak incelenmiştir. Mekanizmanınperformansı; yoğun bölge (hot-region), düzenli (uniform), mükemmel karışım (perfect shuffle) ve bit ters çevirme (bit-reverse) gibi birçok trafik modeli altında OPNET Modeler kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Ortalama işlemci verimi, ortalama kanalbekleme süresi ve ortalama ağ cevap süresi gibi performans ölçüleri farklı trafik modelleri altında ve T/R’nin (ortalama kanal servis süresinin ortalama işlem süresine oranı) farklı değerleri için bir düğümün çıkış kanal kuyruğunda uygulanan birleştirme mekanizmasından önce ve sonra toplanmıştır. Sonuçlar, birleştirme mekanizması uygulandıktan sonra ortalama ağ cevap süresinin %8.81 ve %20.62, ortalama kanal bekleme süresinin %15.39 ve %28.02 arasında azaldığını, ortalama işlemci veriminin ise %5.12 ve %12.71 arasında arttığını göstermektedir. To minimize the effect of hot-spots and latencies in broadcast-based architectures, messages are combined in the output channel queue to form a new message containing the payloads of all original messages. In this thesis, the performanceof the message combining method is investigated on a 64-node 2D SOME-Bus architecture which is a low-latency and high-bandwidth broadcast-based fiber-optic interconnection network employing the message passing protocol. The performance of the methodis evaluated by OPNET Modeler with various synthetic traffic patterns including hot-region, uniform, perfect-shuffle and bit-reverse. Performance measures such as average processor utilization, average channel waiting time and average network response time have been collected before and after applying the combining method in the output channel queue of a node for varying values of the ratio of the mean channel service time to mean thread run time (T/R) and under different traffic patterns. The results show that average network response times decrease by 8.81% to 20.62%, average channel waiting times decrease by 15.39% to 28.02% and average processor utilization increase by 5.12% to 12.71% after applying the combining method. The purpose of this thesis is to develop accurate VO2max prediction models using maximal and N-Ex variables and show that the accuracy of maximal prediction models can be improved by adding N-Ex questionnaire predictor variables. Machine learning methods such as SVM, ANN, MLR and GRNN are used for developing VO2max prediction models. Two different datasets are used for VO2max prediction. Using 10-fold cross validation, the performance of the models are evaluated by calculating R's and SEE's. It is shown that adding questionnaire to ANN-based prediction models yields 4.25% to 10.81% increments in R's and 27.53% to 35.59% decrements in SEE's for the first dataset and 1.08% to 6.97% increments in R's and 0.53% to 17.97% decrements in SEE's for the second dataset. Also it is concluded that ANN-based prediction models are more accurate than GRNN-based, SVMbased and MLR-based prediction models. Bu tezin amacı, maksimal ve egzersize bağlı olmayan değişkenler kullanarak doğru VO2max tahmin modelleri geliştirmek ve maksimal tahmin modellerinin egzersize bağlı olmayan anket değişkenleriyle geliştirilebileceğini göstermektir. DVM, YSA, ÇDR ve GRSA gibi makine öğrenmesi yöntemleri, VO2max tahmin modellerini geliştirmek için kullanılmıştır. VO2max tahmin için iki değişik veri kümesi kullanılmıştır. Modellerin başarımını ölçmek amacıyla kullanılan KKve STH değerleri 10 katlı çapraz doğrulama kullanarak hesaplanmıştır. Sonuçlar göstermiştir ki, YSA tabanlı maksimal tahmin modellerine anket sonuçlarını eklemek ilk veri kümesi için KK değerinde %4.25 ile %10.81 arasında artışa ve STH değerinde ise %27.53 ile %35.59 arasında bir düşüşe neden olmuştur. İkinci veri kümesinde ise KK değerinde %1.08 ile %6.97 arasında artış,STH değerinde ise %0.53 ile %17.97 arasında düşüş görülmüştür. Bununla birlikte YSA tabanlı tahmin modellerinin GRSA, DVM ve ÇDR tabanlı modellere göre daha doğru sonuçlar ürettiği gözlenmiştir. Bu çalışma Ç.Ü. As these protocols appear only for read requests in literature, the protocols are modified for write requests before evaluating their performances. Bu çalışmada, simülasyon tekniği kullanılarak katı istek-yanıt, aracılı iletim ve cevap iletimi olmak üzere üç farklı dizin tabanlı ön bellek tutarlılık protokolünün dağıtık ortak hafıza (DOH) destekleyen, düşük gecikmeli, yüksek bant genişliğine sahip yayın tabanlı fiber optik bir ara bağlantı ağı olan SOME-Bus üzerinde performans analizi yapılmıştır. Literatürde bu protokoller sadece okuma durumu için tasarlandığından, performans ölçümleri yapılmadan önce protokoller yazma durumu için yeniden düzenlenmiştir. Simüle edilen sistem, her biri bir işlemci, ön bellek denetleyicisi, dizin denetleyicisi ve çıkış kanalı içeren 64 düğümden oluşmaktadır. Simülasyonlar, her bir protokol için ortalama işlemci kullanımını ve ortalama ağ gecikmesini; ortalama kanal servis süresinin ortalama iplik çalışma süresine oranı (T/R), ön bellek bloğunun değiştirilmiş olma olasılığı {P(M)}, yazma ön bellek eksiklerinin (miss) oranı {P(W)} gibi önemli DOH parametrelerinin değişken değerleri için, farklı ağ trafik modelleri altında gerçeklenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, tüm protokollerinin performansının, tüm ağ trafik modelleri altında, P(W), P(M) veya T/R oranının artması ile düştüğünü göstermiştir. P(M)?deki artış, P(W)?nin protokol performansları üzerindeki etkisini kırmaktadır. Cevap iletimi protokolü yüksek P(M) değerlerinde, aracılı iletim protokolü ise yüksek P(W) ile düşük P(M)?nin bir arada bulunduğu değerlerde en iyi performanslarını sergilerler.
