However, there has been no bibliometric analysis of the global application and emerging trends of tuina performed for NP. Therefore, this study aimed to provide an overview of the current state and future trends in the field. Articles about tuina for NP, published from January 1, 2013, to January 1, 2023, were searched in the Web of Science Core Collection database. CiteSpace (6.1.R6) and VOSviewer (1.6.18) software were used to analyze annual trends in literature posts, countries, institutions, authors, cited references, and knowledge graphs of keyword co-occurrence, clustering, and burst using standard bibliometric indicators. The final analysis comprised 505 valid documents. The results demonstrate that the number of articles in the field of tuina therapy for NP has gradually increased over the years, showing the most active countries, institutions, journals, and authors. There were 323 keywords in the field, 322 research authors, and 292 research institutions, with the USA having the most publications (n = 140). The most published institution is Vrije University Amsterdam, and the most published journal is the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews. Peter R Blanpied is the most influential and most-cited author. Interventions (dry needling, massage therapy, and muscle energy techniques), common treatment sites for NP (upper trapezius), and complications (cervicogenic headache) are the top three frontiers mentioned in the field of tuina research for NP. The bibliometric study showed the current status and trends in clinical research on treating patients with NP using tuina, which may help researchers identify topics of interest and scope for future research in this field.Keywords: tuina, neck pain, CiteSpace, VOSviewer, knowledge graph analysis

Abstract Obtaining a fine approximation of a black-box function is important for understanding and evaluating innovative materials. Active learning aims to improve the approximation of black-box functions with fewer training data. In this study, we investigate whether active learning based on uncertainty sampling enables the efficient approximation of black-box functions in regression tasks using various material databases. In cases where the inputs are provided uniformly and defined in a relatively low-dimensional space, the liquidus surfaces of the ternary systems are the focus. The results show that uncertainty-based active learning can produce a better black-box function with higher prediction accuracy than that by random sampling. Furthermore, in cases in which the inputs are distributed discretely and unbalanced in a high-dimensional feature space, datasets extracted from materials databases for inorganic materials, small molecules, and polymers are addressed, and uncertainty-based active learning is occasionally inefficient. Based on the dependency on the material descriptors, active learning tends to produce a better black-box functions than random sampling when the dimensions of the descriptor are small. The results indicate that active learning is occasionally inefficient in obtaining a better black-box function in materials science.

Introduction: Although the association between Alzheimer's disease (AD) and constipation is controversial, its causality and underlying mechanisms remain unknown. Objectives: To investigate the potential association between slow gut transit and AD using epidemiological data and a murine model. Methods: We conducted a bi-national cohort study in South Korea (discovery cohort, N=3,130,193) and Japan (validation cohort, N=4,379,285) during the pre-observation period to determine the previous diagnostic history (2009–2010) and the follow-up period (2011–2021). To evaluate the causality, we induced slow gut transit using loperamide in 5xFAD transgenic mice. Changes in amyloid-beta (Aβ) and other markers were examined using ELISA, qRT-PCR, RNA-seq, and behavioral tests. Results: Constipation was associated with an increased risk of AD in the discovery cohort (hazard ratio, 2.04; 95% confidence interval [CI], 2.01–2.07) and the validation cohort (hazard ratio; 2.82; 95% CI, 2.61–3.05). We found that loperamide induced slower gut transit in 5xFAD mice, increased Aβ and microglia levels in the brain, increased transcription of genes related to norepinephrine secretion and immune responses, and decreased the transcription of defense against bacteria in the colonic tissue. Conclusion: Impaired gut transit may contribute to AD pathogenesis via the gut-brain axis, thus suggesting a cyclical relationship between intestinal barrier disruption and Aβ accumulation in the brain. We propose that gut transit or motility may be a modifiable lifestyle factor in the prevention of AD, and further clinical investigations are warranted.

Abstract There have been several reports of skin manifestations in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, it is unclear whether severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) RNA can be detected on the skin surface, including the sebum, of these patients. In this study, SARS-CoV-2 RNA was detected using real-time reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assay of skin surface lipids (SSLs) collected using an oil-blotting film from the faces of hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Human transcriptome analysis was also performed using the same samples. In facial SSLs of patients with COVID-19, the RT-PCR positivity rate was 84.6% (11/13 samples) within 5 days and 30.4% (7/23 samples) by 6–10 days of symptom onset. In the transcriptome analysis, the most characteristic SSL-RNA profile was the upregulation of interferon-stimulated gene (ISG)-related genes, such as ISG15, IFITM1, and MX1. This study presents an alternative technique using SSLs for non-invasive SARS-CoV-2 RNA detection and simultaneous analysis of human molecular pathogenesis in patients with COVID-19.

Abstract After traumatic events, simple cue-threat associative memories strengthen while episodic memories become incoherent. However, how the brain prioritises cue associations over episodic coding of traumatic events remains unclear. Here, we developed an original episodic threat conditioning paradigm in which participants concurrently form two memory representations: cue associations and episodic cue sequence. We discovered that these two distinct memories compete for physiological fear expression, reorganising overnight from an overgeneralised cue-based to a precise sequence-based expression. With multivariate fMRI, we track inter-area communication of the memory representations to reveal that a rebalancing between hippocampal- and prefrontal control of the fear regulatory circuit governs this memory maturation. Critically, this overnight re-organisation is altered with heightened trait anxiety. Together, we show the brain prioritises generalisable associative memories under recent traumatic stress but resorts to selective episodic memories 24 h later. Time-dependent memory competition may provide a unifying account for memory dysfunctions in post-traumatic stress disorders.

Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of teriparatide compared to other treatments for postmenopausal osteoporosis. Methods: A review of studies from 2000 to January 2023 analyzed randomized controlled trials on postmenopausal women treated with teriparatide (PTH 1–34), comparing it to placebo or other osteoporosis treatments. The analysis focused on bone mineral density (BMD), bone turnover markers, and clinical outcomes, employing Review Manager 5.4.1 and the RoB 2 tool for bias assessment. Results: Our analysis of 23 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) found that PTH (134) treatment significantly increased lumbar spine BMD (mean difference (MD) = 0.02, 95% CI: 0.01–0.03) and femoral neck BMD (MD = 0.01, 95% CI: 0.00–0.01). However, there were no significant changes in total hip and radial bone BMD among the 3536 and 2046 participants, respectively. We also found that PTH (1–34) increased P1NP in a larger cohort (n = 1415) when compared to osteocalcin (n = 206). Although the risk of adverse events increased (relative risk (RR) = 1.65, 95% CI: 1.32–2.07), the incidence of fractures decreased significantly (RR = 0.57, 95% CI: 0.45–0.072), with no significant difference observed in mortality rates between treatment and control groups. Conclusion: Teriparatide improves lumbar spine and femoral neck BMD in postmenopausal women. Particularly notable is the novel finding regarding its effect on radius BMD, an area less explored in previous research. Despite an uptick in adverse events, the marked decrease in fracture incidence confirms its clinical utility for high-risk osteoporosis patients, highlighting the necessity for ongoing investigations into its full skeletal effects.

Increased competition in the craft industry and reduced activity in the surrounding community have caused a significant decline in the number of MSMEs, which is indicated by internal and external factors. Rajapolah crafts are increasingly popular with consumers because they prefer modern products compared to crafts made in Rajapolah. Wicker is considered old-fashioned and out of date, especially by the millennial generation. This research aims to analyze how price and product quality influence consumer buying interest in Rajapolah craft products. This research can be expanded as quantitative research with a sample size of 100 respondents. Based on the results that have been carried out, price and product quality have a significant effect on buying interest in Rajapolah handicraft MSME products. It can be concluded that producers, in increasing purchasing interest, need to look at the price and quality aspects of their products.

Introduction: Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is an autoimmune disorder that principally targets the central nervous system, specifically the spinal cord and optic nerves. NMOSD is often associated with thyroid pathologies such as Graves’ disease or Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. Thyroid eye disease (TED) is an autoimmune condition characterized by inflammation and hypertrophy of the extraocular muscles. Dysthyroid optic neuropathy (DON), a critical complication of TED, may lead to irreversible visual loss. We report a case of DON complicated by NMOSD. Case Presentation: We report a case of an autoimmune disease presenting as DON in a 44-year-old Japanese woman with a history of Graves’ disease, who experienced reduced visual acuity and orbital pain. Brain magnetic resonance imaging disclosed hypertrophy of the rectus muscles, compressing the optic nerve bilaterally. Consequently, she was diagnosed with DON and underwent three courses of steroid semi-pulse therapy and left orbital decompression surgery, alleviating optic nerve compression. Nevertheless, the visual prognosis remained poor. A subsequent serological test showed positive for aquaporin-4 antibody. Treatment with satralizumab, an interleukin-6 receptor monoclonal antibody, was initiated in conjunction with steroids to suppress the autoimmune response and reduce NMOSD relapse risk. Following this treatment, no NMOSD recurrences were reported. Conclusion: This case highlights the necessity of considering the possible coexistence of DON and NMOSD in patients with autoimmune diseases.

Abstract Some RNAs such as 28S rRNA, U1 small nuclear RNA (snRNA), and Y RNAs are known to be cleaved during apoptosis. The underlying mechanism, functions, and biological significance of RNA degradation in apoptosis remain elusive. Y RNAs are non-coding RNAs widely conserved from bacteria to mammals, and are major components of Ro ribonucleoprotein (RNP) complexes which contain the 60 kDa Ro protein (SS-A) and the 50 kDa La protein (SS-B). The autoantigenic Ro and La proteins were identified by autoantibodies present in the sera from patients with Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and Sjögren’s syndrome (SjS). We previously identified novel, functional small RNAs named AGO-taxis small RNAs (ASRs) that are specifically bound to Argonaute protein 1 (AGO1), which are processed from Y RNAs. Cell-free analysis combined with fractionation methods revealed that the apoptosis-specific biogenesis of ASRs or cleavage of Y RNA was induced by truncation of polypyrimidine tract-binding protein 1 (PTBP1), which is an endoribonuclease inhibitor of Y RNAs by caspase 3. Caspase 3-resistant PTBP1 mutant protected cleavage of Y RNAs in apoptosis induced by staurosporine. Furthermore, caspase 3-resistant PTBP1 mutant knock-in mice showed elevated cytokines, dysregulation of the germinal center formation compared to the wild-type mice at LPS stimulation, and high positivity of antinuclear antibody. Those results suggest that cleavage of Y RNAs or biogenesis of ASR during apoptosis has critical biological functions and their deregulation result in immune dysregulation and the formation of autoantibody, possibly leading to the development of autoimmune diseases.

Abstract Targeted protein degradation is a groundbreaking modality in drug discovery; however, the regulatory mechanisms are still not fully understood. Here, we identify cellular signaling pathways that modulate the targeted degradation of the anticancer target BRD4 and related neosubstrates BRD2/3 and CDK9 induced by CRL2VHL- or CRL4CRBN -based PROTACs. The chemicals identified as degradation enhancers include inhibitors of cellular signaling pathways such as poly-ADP ribosylation (PARG inhibitor PDD00017273), unfolded protein response (PERK inhibitor GSK2606414), and protein stabilization (HSP90 inhibitor luminespib). Mechanistically, PARG inhibition promotes TRIP12-mediated K29/K48-linked branched ubiquitylation of BRD4 by facilitating chromatin dissociation of BRD4 and formation of the BRD4–PROTAC–CRL2VHL ternary complex; by contrast, HSP90 inhibition promotes BRD4 degradation after the ubiquitylation step. Consequently, these signal inhibitors sensitize cells to the PROTAC-induced apoptosis. These results suggest that various cell-intrinsic signaling pathways spontaneously counteract chemically induced target degradation at multiple steps, which could be liberated by specific inhibitors.

Abstract This study aimed to develop and validate a machine learning (ML) model tailored to the Korean population with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) to provide a superior method for predicting the development of cardiovascular disease (CVD), a major chronic complication in these patients. We used data from two cohorts, namely the discovery (one hospital; n = 12,809) and validation (two hospitals; n = 2019) cohorts, recruited between 2008 and 2022. The outcome of interest was the presence or absence of CVD at 3 years. We selected various ML-based models with hyperparameter tuning in the discovery cohort and performed area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) analysis in the validation cohort. CVD was observed in 1238 (10.2%) patients in the discovery cohort. The random forest (RF) model exhibited the best overall performance among the models, with an AUROC of 0.830 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.818–0.842) in the discovery dataset and 0.722 (95% CI 0.660–0.783) in the validation dataset. Creatinine and glycated hemoglobin levels were the most influential factors in the RF model. This study introduces a pioneering ML-based model for predicting CVD in Korean patients with T2DM, outperforming existing prediction tools and providing a groundbreaking approach for early personalized preventive medicine.

Abstract Background The economic crisis that began in 2008 has severely affected Southern (Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain) Western European (SWE) countries of Western Europe (WE) and may have affected ongoing efforts to eliminate viral hepatitis. This study was conducted to investigate the impact of the economic crisis on the burden of HBV and HCV disease. Methods Global Burden of Diseases 2019 data were used to analyse the rates of epidemiological metrics of HBV and HCV acute and chronic infections in SWE and WE. Time series modelling was performed to quantify the impact of healthcare expenditure on the time trend of HBV and HCV disease burden in 2000–2019. Results Declining trends in incidence and prevalence rates of acute HBV (aHBV) and chronic HBV were observed in SWE and WE, with the pace of decline being slower in the post-austerity period (2010–2019) and mortality due to HBV stabilised in SWE. Acute HCV (aHCV) metrics and chronic HCV incidence and mortality showed a stable trend in SWE and WE, whereas the prevalence of chronic HCV showed an oscillating trend, decreasing in WE in 2010–2019 (p

Abstract This retrospective observational study aimed to investigate the difference in 4-year outcomes of ranibizumab or aflibercept therapy for macular neovascularization (MNV) with high myopia between pathologic myopia (PM) and non-PM. This study was conducted at Kyoto University Hospital and included consecutive treatment-naïve eyes with active myopic MNV, in which a single intravitreal ranibizumab or aflibercept injection was administered, followed by a pro re nata (PRN) regimen for 4 years. Based on the META-PM study classification, eyes were assigned to the non-PM and PM groups. This study analyzed 118 eyes of 118 patients (non-PM group, 19 eyes; PM group, 99 eyes). Baseline, 1-year, and 2-year best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) were significantly better in the non-PM group (P = 0.02, 0.01, and 0.02, respectively); however, the 3-year and 4-year BCVA were not. The 4-year BCVA course was similar in both groups. However, the total number of injections over 4 years was significantly higher in the non-PM than in the PM group (4.6 ± 2.6 vs. 2.9 ± 2.6, P = 0.001). Abstract Background Transgenic (Tg) mice are widely used in biomedical research, and they are typically generated by injecting transgenic DNA cassettes into pronuclei of one-cell stage zygotes. Such animals often show unreliable expression of the transgenic DNA, one of the major reasons for which is random insertion of the transgenes. We previously developed a method called “pronuclear injection-based targeted transgenesis” (PITT), in which DNA constructs are directed to insert at pre-designated genomic loci. PITT was achieved by pre-installing so called landing pad sequences (such as heterotypic LoxP sites or attP sites) to create seed mice and then injecting Cre recombinase or PhiC31 integrase mRNAs along with a compatible donor plasmid into zygotes derived from the seed mice. PITT and its subsequent version, improved PITT (i-PITT), overcome disadvantages of conventional Tg mice such as lack of consistent and reliable expression of the cassettes among different Tg mouse lines, and the PITT approach is superior in terms of cost and labor. One of the limitations of PITT, particularly using Cre-mRNA, is that the approach cannot be used for insertion of conditional expression cassettes using Cre-LoxP site-specific recombination. This is because the LoxP sites in the donor plasmids intended for achieving conditional expression of the transgene will interfere with the PITT recombination reaction with LoxP sites in the landing pad. Results To enable the i-PITT method to insert a conditional expression cassette, we modified the approach by simultaneously using PhiC31o and FLPo mRNAs. We demonstrate the strategy by creating a model containing a conditional expression cassette at the Rosa26 locus with an efficiency of 13.7%. We also demonstrate that inclusion of FLPo mRNA excludes the insertion of vector backbones in the founder mice. Conclusions Simultaneous use of PhiC31 and FLP in i-PITT approach allows insertion of donor plasmids containing Cre-loxP-based conditional expression cassettes.

Background The Direct Oral Anticoagulant (DOAC) Score can predict bleeding risk in patients with atrial fibrillation taking DOACs; however, it lacks external validation. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the association between the DOAC Score and bleeding events in patients with atrial fibrillation who underwent transcatheter aortic valve replacement. Methods and Results This retrospective multicenter cohort study included patients with atrial fibrillation who underwent transcatheter aortic valve replacement, as registered in a Japanese multicenter registry. The primary end point was the incidence of bleeding. Patients were categorized based on their DOAC Score: low and moderate‐ (≤7 points), high‐ (8–9 points), and very high‐risk (≥10 points) groups. Among 1230 patients (mean age 84.6±5.1 years; 457 men), 465 (37.8%) received a vitamin K antagonist, and the remaining patients received DOACs. The low and moderate‐, high‐, and very high‐risk groups included 380 (30.1%), 497 (40.4%), and 353 patients (28.7%), respectively. Background The Clinical Frailty Scale (CFS) is a useful frailty marker for predicting clinical outcomes in patients undergoing invasive therapy. However, the clinical impact of CFS after transcatheter edge‐to‐edge repair in patients with mitral regurgitation (MR) remains unclear. This study aimed to elucidate the association between the baseline frail status defined by the CFS and clinical outcomes with or without postprocedural MR ≥2+ (post‐MR ≥2+) after transcatheter edge‐to‐edge repair. Methods and Results Based on a Japanese multicenter registry (OCEAN [Optimized Catheter Valvular Intervention]‐Mitral), data from 2078 patients with MR who underwent transcatheter edge‐to‐edge repair were analyzed. The patients were classified into 5 groups: CFS 1 to 3, 4, 5, 6, and ≥7. The procedural and clinical outcomes and post‐MR ≥2+ were compared among the groups. All‐cause mortality for up to 2 years was explored using Cox proportional hazards regression analysis. BackgroundWorldwide, cardiovascular diseases are the primary cause of death, with hypertension as a key contributor. In 2019, cardiovascular diseases led to 17.9 million deaths, predicted to reach 23 million by 2030. ObjectiveThis study presents a new method to predict hypertension using demographic data, using 6 machine learning models for enhanced reliability and applicability. The goal is to harness artificial intelligence for early and accurate hypertension diagnosis across diverse populations. MethodsData from 2 national cohort studies, National Health Insurance Service-National Sample Cohort (South Korea, n=244,814), conducted between 2002 and 2013 were used to train and test machine learning models designed to anticipate incident hypertension within 5 years of a health checkup involving those aged ≥20 years, and Japanese Medical Data Center cohort (Japan, n=1,296,649) were used for extra validation. An ensemble from 6 diverse machine learning models was used to identify the 5 most salient features contributing to hypertension by presenting a feature importance analysis to confirm the contribution of each future. ResultsThe Adaptive Boosting and logistic regression ensemble showed superior balanced accuracy (0.812, sensitivity 0.806, specificity 0.818, and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve 0.901). The 5 key hypertension indicators were age, diastolic blood pressure, BMI, systolic blood pressure, and fasting blood glucose. The Japanese Medical Data Center cohort dataset (extra validation set) corroborated these findings (balanced accuracy 0.741 and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve 0.824). The ensemble model was integrated into a public web portal for predicting hypertension onset based on health checkup data. ConclusionsComparative evaluation of our machine learning models against classical statistical models across 2 distinct studies emphasized the former’s enhanced stability, generalizability, and reproducibility in predicting hypertension onset.

Objective: Although thyroid disease is a common condition, there is limited research examining the prevalence of thyroid disease over a long period of time, including both before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, we aimed to investigate sociodemographic aspects that might be associated with thyroid disease and how its prevalence has varied during the pandemic. Methods: We assessed the prevalence of thyroid disease among Korean adults by using data from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 1998 to 2021. We evaluated weighted prevalence and β-coefficients with 95 % CI for factors such as age, sex, residential area, education level, household income, perceived stress level, weight change, occupation category, and body mass index groups. Results: From 1998 to 2021, the prevalence of thyroid disease among 159,896 Korean adults (88,120 females [55.1 %]) aged 20 years and older exhibited an overall increasing trend. The weighted prevalence in the general population rose from 1.52 % (95 % CI, 1.41–1.64) in 1998–2005 to 3.84 % (3.30–4.39) in 2021, with a higher likelihood of thyroid disease exposure as age increased. In addition, females, individuals with lower education levels, those with high levels of perceived stress, those who gained weight, and those classified as overweight or obese emerged as vulnerable groups for thyroid disease. For the majority of subgroups, the change amid the effect of the pandemic on prevalence was minimal. However, the aged ≥60 years group showed a greater increase in prevalence during the pandemic than before the pandemic (βdiff: 0.52 [95 % CI, 0.37–0.68]). Conclusions: A nationwide representative study in South Korea revealed an increasing trend in the prevalence of thyroid disease over 24 years, particularly among the older population. Despite the minimal variation during the pandemic, our findings emphasize the need for targeted thyroid disease policies and further research, especially for specific subgroups such as the older population.

BackgroundSeveral machine learning (ML) prediction models for neurodegenerative diseases (NDs) in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) have recently been developed. However, the predictive power of these models is limited by the lack of multiple risk factors. ObjectiveThis study aimed to assess the validity and use of an ML model for predicting the 3-year incidence of ND in patients with T2DM. MethodsWe used data from 2 independent cohorts—the discovery cohort (1 hospital; n=22,311) and the validation cohort (2 hospitals; n=2915)—to predict ND. The outcome of interest was the presence or absence of ND at 3 years. We selected different ML-based models with hyperparameter tuning in the discovery cohort and conducted an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) analysis in the validation cohort. ResultsThe study dataset included 22,311 (discovery) and 2915 (validation) patients with T2DM recruited between 2008 and 2022. ND was observed in 133 (0.6%) and 15 patients (0.5%) in the discovery and validation cohorts, respectively. The AdaBoost model had a mean AUROC of 0.82 (95% CI 0.79-0.85) in the discovery dataset. When this result was applied to the validation dataset, the AdaBoost model exhibited the best performance among the models, with an AUROC of 0.83 (accuracy of 78.6%, sensitivity of 78.6%, specificity of 78.6%, and balanced accuracy of 78.6%). The most influential factors in the AdaBoost model were age and cardiovascular disease. ConclusionsThis study shows the use and feasibility of ML for assessing the incidence of ND in patients with T2DM and suggests its potential for use in screening patients. Further international studies are required to validate these findings.

BackgroundAlthough previous studies have investigated trends in unmet health care and dental care needs, most have focused on specific groups, such as patients with chronic conditions and older adults, and have been limited by smaller data sets. ObjectiveThis study aims to investigate the trends and relative risk factors for unmet health care and dental care needs, as well as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on these needs. MethodsWe assessed unmet health care and dental care needs from 2009 to 2022 using data from the Korea Community Health Survey (KCHS). Our analysis included responses from 2,750,212 individuals. Unmet health care or dental care needs were defined as instances of not receiving medical or dental services deemed necessary by experts or desired by patients. ResultsFrom 2009 to 2022, the study included 2,700,705 individuals (1,229,671 men, 45.53%; 673,780, 24.95%, aged 19-39 years). Unmet health care needs decreased before the COVID-19 pandemic; however, during the pandemic, there was a noticeable increase (βdiff 0.10, 95% CI 0.09-0.11). Unmet dental care needs declined before the pandemic and continued to decrease during the pandemic (βdiff 0.23, 95% CI 0.22-0.24). Overall, the prevalence of unmet dental care needs was significantly higher than that for unmet health care needs. While the prevalence of unmet health care needs generally decreased over time, the β difference during the pandemic increased compared with prepandemic values. ConclusionsOur study is the first to analyze national unmet health care and dental care needs in South Korea using nationally representative, long-term, and large-scale data from the KCHS. We found that while unmet health care needs decreased during COVID-19, the decline was slower compared with previous periods. This suggests a need for more targeted interventions to prevent unmet health care and dental care needs.

Abstract Previous studies have examined the prevalence of allergic diseases in adolescents 1–2 years after the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, more data is needed to understand the long-term impact of COVID-19 on allergic diseases. Thus, we aimed to examine the trend of the atopic dermatitis prevalence in Korean adolescents before and during the COVID-19 pandemic across 14 years. Additionally, we analyze the risk factors of atopic dermatitis (AD) based on the results. The Korean Disease Control and Prevention Agency conducted the Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey from 2009 to 2022, from which the data for this study were obtained. Prevalence trends were compared across subgroups, and the β difference (βdiff) was calculated. We computed odds ratios to examine changes in the disease prevalence before and during the pandemic. This study included a total of 917,461 participants from 2009 to 2022. The prevalence of atopic dermatitis increased from 6.79% (95% CI 6.66–6.91) in 2009–2011 to 6.89% (95% CI 6.72–7.05) in 2018–2019, then decreased slightly to 5.82% (95% CI 5.60–6.04) in 2022. Across the 14 years, middle school student status, low parent’s highest education level, low household income, non-alcohol consumption, non-smoker smoking status, no suicidal thoughts, and no suicide attempts were associated with increased risk of atopic dermatitis, while female sex, rural residence, high BMI, low school performance, low household income, and no feelings of sadness and despair was associated with a small increase. This study examined the prevalence of atopic dermatitis across an 18-year, and found that the prevalence increased in the pre-pandemic then decreased during the start of the pandemic and remained constant throughout the pandemic. This trend could be explained mainly by the large scale social and political changes that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract Considering the significant burden of post-acute COVID-19 conditions among patients infected with SARS-CoV-2, we aimed to identify the risk of acute respiratory complications or post-acute respiratory sequelae. A binational population-based cohort study was conducted to analyze the risk of acute respiratory complications or post-acute respiratory sequelae after SARS-CoV-2 infection. We used a Korean nationwide claim-based cohort (K-COV-N; n = 2,312,748; main cohort) and a Japanese claim-based cohort (JMDC; n = 3,115,606; replication cohort) after multi-to-one propensity score matching. Among 2,312,748 Korean participants (mean age, 47.2 years [SD, 15.6]; 1,109,708 [48.0%] female), 17.1% (394,598/2,312,748) were infected with SARS-CoV-2. The risk of acute respiratory complications or post-acute respiratory sequelae is significantly increased in people with SARS-CoV-2 infection compared to the general population (acute respiratory complications: HR, 8.06 [95% CI, 6.92-9.38]; post-acute respiratory sequelae: 1.68 [1.62-1.75]), and the risk increased with increasing COVID-19 severity. We identified COVID-19 vaccination as an attenuating factor, showing a protective association against acute or post-acute respiratory conditions. Furthermore, while the excess post-acute risk diminished with time following SARS-CoV-2 infection, it persisted beyond 6 months post-infection. The replication cohort showed a similar pattern in the association. Our study comprehensively evaluates respiratory complications in post-COVID-19 conditions, considering attenuating factors such as vaccination status, post-infection duration, COVID-19 severity, and specific respiratory conditions.

Abstract A 53-year-old woman with the dilated phase of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy underwent orthotopic heart transplantation. The donor heart was evaluated as normal preoperatively without mitral regurgitation or the left atrium dilation, transplanted using the modified bicaval technique. Although the heart beat satisfactorily after aortic declamping, massive mitral regurgitation was observed without any prolapse or annular dilation. Because of the difficulty in weaning from cardiopulmonary bypass, a second aortic cross-clamp was applied, and we detached the inferior vena cava and the right side of the left atrial anastomosis to approach the mitral valve, obtaining a satisfactory exposure. No abnormalities were observed in the mitral valve leaflets, annulus or subvalvular apparatus. Subsequent in vivo mitral annuloplasty using prosthetic full ring successfully controlled the regurgitation, and the patient was easily weaned from cardiopulmonary bypass. She discharged to home with good mitral valve and cardiac functions. And the patient has been doing well without any recurrence of MR or heart failure for over a year after surgery.

Abstract Lipid-mediated inflammation is involved in the development and malignancy of cancer. We previously demonstrated the existence of a novel oncogenic mechanism utilizing membrane lipids of extracellular vesicles in Epstein–Barr virus (EBV)-positive lymphomas and found that the lipid composition of lymphoma cells is skewed toward ω-3 fatty acids, which are anti-inflammatory lipids, suggesting an alteration in systemic lipid composition. The results showed that arachidonic acid (AA), an inflammatory lipid, was significantly reduced in the infected cells but detected at high levels in the sera of EBV-positive patients lead to the finding of the blockade of extracellular AA influx by downregulating FATP2, a long-chain fatty acid transporter that mainly transports AA in EBV-infected lymphoma cells. Low AA levels in tumor cells induced by downregulation of FATP2 expression confer resistance to ferroptosis and support tumor growth. TCGA data analysis and xenograft models have demonstrated that the axis plays a critical role in several types of cancers, especially poor prognostic cancers, such as glioblastoma and melanoma. Overall, our in vitro, in vivo, in silico, and clinical data suggest that several cancers exert oncogenic activity by maintaining their special lipid composition via extracellular blockade.

Abstract Prior research has predominantly focused on the overall effects of the tobacco tax increase and the COVID-19 pandemic on adolescent smoking behavior. However, there is a need to examine both the immediate and sustained associations of these two factors on subgroups of adolescents, employing an interrupted time-series model. We aimed to investigate the immediate and sustained association of tobacco tax increase and the COVID-19 pandemic on adolescent smoking prevalence. This study utilized data from the Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey to analyze the prevalence of current smoking among all participants (CSP) and the prevalence of daily smoking among current smokers (DSP) of Korean adolescents (n = 1,159,995; mean, age 14.99; male 51.5%) over 18 years from 2005 to 2022. The study examined 18-year trends in CSP and DSP among Korean adolescents, emphasizing the influences of the 2015 tobacco tax increase and the COVID-19 pandemic, using β coefficients and their differences (βdiff) from an interrupted time-series ARIMA model. While CSP exhibited a decreasing trend, DSP exhibited an increasing trend. Tobacco tax increase was associated with both the short and long terms in smoking prevalence, however, the short-term association on prevalence (CSP, − 3.076 [95% CI, − 3.707 to − 2.445]; DSP, − 4.112 [95% CI, − 6.488 to − 1.735]) was stronger. The pandemic was associated with an immediate increase in DSP (9.345 [95% CI, 5.285–13.406]). These effects were strongest among adolescents from low economic status and those exposed to familial secondhand smoking. Supportive programs for adolescents in low-income families will help overcome the effects associated with the pandemic. As a tobacco tax increase was associated with a reduction in smoking prevalence, this could be one method to overcome the effects of the pandemic.

Abstract Several studies have evaluated immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) for metastatic uveal melanoma; however, the efficacy of ICIs in the previous studies varied greatly. In this systematic review, we searched for prospective or retrospective studies on single or dual-ICIs for metastatic uveal melanoma treatment. A random-effect model meta-analysis with generic inverse-variance was conducted, and 36 articles representing 41 cohorts of 1414 patients with metastatic uveal melanoma were included. The pooled outcomes were as follows: objective response rate (ORR) was 5.6% (95% confidence interval [95%CI] 3.7–7.5%; I2, 36%), disease control rate (DCR) was 32.5% (95% CI 27.2–37.7%; I2, 73%), median progression-free survival was 2.8 months (95% CI 2.7–2.9 months; I2, 26%), and median overall survival (OS) was 11.2 months (95% CI 9.6–13.2 months; I2, 74%). Abstract As mounting evidence suggests a higher incidence of adverse consequences, such as disruption of the immune system, among patients with a history of COVID-19, we aimed to investigate post-COVID-19 conditions on a comprehensive set of allergic diseases including asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, and food allergy. We used nationwide claims-based cohorts in South Korea (K-CoV-N; n = 836,164; main cohort) and Japan (JMDC; n = 2,541,021; replication cohort A) and the UK Biobank cohort (UKB; n = 325,843; replication cohort B) after 1:5 propensity score matching. Among the 836,164 individuals in the main cohort (mean age, 50.25 years [SD, 13.86]; 372,914 [44.6%] women), 147,824 were infected with SARS-CoV-2 during the follow-up period (2020−2021). The risk of developing allergic diseases, beyond the first 30 days of diagnosis of COVID-19, significantly increased (HR, 1.20; 95% CI, 1.13−1.27), notably in asthma (HR, 2.25; 95% CI, 1.80−2.83) and allergic rhinitis (HR, 1.23; 95% CI, 1.15−1.32). This risk gradually decreased over time, but it persisted throughout the follow-up period (≥6 months). In addition, the risk increased with increasing severity of COVID-19. Notably, COVID-19 vaccination of at least two doses had a protective effect against subsequent allergic diseases (HR, 0.81; 95% CI, 0.68−0.96). Similar findings were reported in the replication cohorts A and B. Although the potential for misclassification of pre-existing allergic conditions as incident diseases remains a limitation, ethnic diversity for evidence of incident allergic diseases in post-COVID-19 condition has been validated by utilizing multinational and independent population-based cohorts.

Background Variations in the aortomitral positional anatomy, including aortic root rotation appear to be related to variations in the location of the conduction system, including the bundle of His. However, little is known about their clinical significance. Methods and Results This study included 147 patients with normal ECGs who underwent mitral valve surgery. The aortomitral anatomy was classified using preoperative 3‐dimensional transesophageal echocardiography, and postoperative conduction disorders, including atrioventricular block and bundle branch block, were analyzed. Variations classified as aortomitral appearance were designated as having a center appearance (85.7%, n=126/147) or lateral appearance (14.3%, n=21/147) on the basis of whether the aortic root was located at the center or was shifted to the left fibrous trigone side. Subsequently, those with a center appearance, aortic root rotation was classified as having a center rotation (83.3% [n=105/126]), in which the commissure of the left and noncoronary aortic leaflet was located at the center, lateral rotation (14.3% [n=18/126]), rotated to the left trigone side, or medial rotation (2.4% [n=3/126]), rotated to the right. The incidence of 3‐month persistent new‐onset conduction disorder was higher in the lateral appearance than the center appearance group (21.1% versus 5.0%; P=0.031) and higher in the lateral rotation than in the center or medial rotation groups (29.4% versus 1.0% versus 0.0%, respectively; P

IntroductionThis case study aimed to demonstrate how cooking class activities held in collaboration with the Ajinomoto Foundation (TAF) and a consumer cooperative after the Great East Japan Earthquake contributed to the resilience of the affected community.MethodsWith reference to the logic model, evaluation indicators for the case study were established. We focused on the Iwate Seikatsu Kyodo Kumiai (Iwate Co-op). We organized 120 continuation cases out of the eight-and-a-half-year activity records of the project owned by TAF (April 2012 to March 2020). The Iwate Co-op was one of the 120 continuing cases and had special features, including awareness that its members were responsible for the community.ResultsThe collaboration revealed three effects. First, owing to the encounter and collaboration with TAF, the cooking class was continuously conducted even after TAF withdrew from the disaster-affected areas. Second, the Iwate Co-op trained some of its members as food support staff to run the cooking class independently and was actively involved in obtaining the necessary budget for the operation, consequently leading to the independent activation of member activities. Third, they developed a cooking class project in inland areas other than disaster-stricken areas, assuming that they could incorporate the project into their existing activities, as food problems affected people beyond disaster victims.ConclusionThe collaborative food support project of the Iwate Co-op and TAF contributed to the resilience of the affected people and communities by strengthening bonds and solidarity among residents and organizations. The key to success was the fusion of a traditional sense of independence in the co-op with TAF’s mission and technical know-how. The partnership between the Iwate Co-op and TAF allowed the former to aim toward developing food support activities in the affected areas, accelerating the resilience of the community in the Iwate Prefecture.

Popliteal vein entrapment syndrome (PVES) is a rare subtype of popliteal entrapment syndrome that leads to symptoms of chronic venous stasis. We report a case of isolated PVES in a young patient associated with an accessory slip of the lateral head of the gastrocnemius muscle. The patient underwent resection of the anomalous muscle, and the symptoms were relieved postoperatively. PVES should be considered in young patients with unexplained symptoms or signs of venous stasis. Surgical resection of the causative lesion compressing the popliteal vein is indicated for selected patients.

BackgroundUnderstanding the association between hypertension prevalence and socioeconomic and behavioral variables during a pandemic is essential, and this analysis should extend beyond short-term trends. ObjectiveThis study aims to examine long-term trends in the prevalence of participants diagnosed with and receiving treatment for hypertension, using data collected by a nationally representative survey from 2009 to 2022, which includes the COVID-19 pandemic era. MethodsA nationwide, population-based, cross-sectional study used data collected from the South Korea Community Health Survey between 2009 and 2022. The study sample comprised 3,208,710 Korean adults over a period of 14 years. We aimed to assess trends in the prevalence of participants diagnosed with and receiving treatment for hypertension in the national population from 2009 to 2022, with a specific focus on the COVID-19 pandemic, using weighted linear regression models. ResultsAmong the included 3,072,546 Korean adults, 794,239 (25.85%) were aged 19-39 years, 1,179,388 (38.38%) were aged 40-59 years; 948,097 (30.86%) were aged 60-79 years, and 150,822 (4.91%) were aged 80 years or older. A total of 1,426,379 (46.42%) were men; 761,896 (24.80%) and 712,264 (23.18%) were diagnosed with and received treatment for hypertension, respectively. Although the overall prevalence over the 14-year period increased, the upward trends of patients diagnosed with and receiving treatment for hypertension decreased during the COVID-19 pandemic era compared with the prepandemic era (β difference for trend during vs before the pandemic –.101, 95% CI –0.107 to –0.094 vs –.133, 95% CI –0.140 to –0.127). Notably, the trends in prevalence during the pandemic were less pronounced in subgroups of older adults (≥60 years old) and individuals with higher alcohol consumption (≥5 days/month). ConclusionsThis nationwide representative study found that the national prevalence of participants diagnosed with and receiving treatment for hypertension increased during the prepandemic era. However, there was a marked decrease in these trends during the prepandemic era, compared with the pandemic era, particularly among specific subgroups at increased risk of negative outcomes. Future studies are needed to evaluate the factors associated with changes in the prevalence of hypertension during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Purpose: Zoledronic acid can inhibit the activity of osteoclasts, and thus, may slow or inhibit bone loss. The purpose of this study was to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of zoledronic acid in the treatment of osteoporosis. Methods: Four databases, PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science, were systematically searched up to December 26, 2022. The primary outcomes included bone mineral density (BMD), carboxy-terminal cross-linked telopeptide of type 1 collagen (CTX), bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (BSAP), procollagen type 1 N-terminal prope-ptide (P1NP), adverse events, and fracture. Secondary outcomes included serum sclerostin level, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score, and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI). Results: A total of 22 randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis. Meta-analysis results showed that zoledronic acid was effective in increasing BMD of the lumbar spine, femoral neck, trochanter and serum sclerostin level; and reduced CTX, BSAP, P1NP, VAS score, and ODI in patients with osteoporosis. Regarding safety, zoledronic acid could reduce the incidence of fractures but had relatively more adverse events. Conclusion: Zoledronic acid can significantly improve BMD of the lumbar spine, femoral neck and trochanter, and effectively reduce incidence of fracture in patients with osteoporosis, thereby significantly improving patients' quality of life. However, the incidence of adverse events was higher than that of patients treated with placebo.

Abstract Although functional dyspepsia (FD) is a common functional gastroduodenal disorder with a high socioeconomic burden, little is known about its global prevalence. Thus, we performed a comprehensive study to estimate long-term trends in the prevalence of FD. We searched PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, and Google Scholar from 1990 to 2022 for population-based studies that reported the prevalence of FD in adults (≥ 18 years old) according to Rome I, II, III, or IV criteria. The prevalence of FD was extracted from included studies to obtain pooled prevalence with 95% confidence intervals (CI) and 95% prediction intervals. Subgroup analysis was performed according to certain characteristics, including geographic region. A total of 44 studies met the eligibility criteria, including 256,915 participants from 40 countries across six continents. The overall global pooled prevalence of FD was 8.4% (95% CI 7.4–.9.5). The prevalence was the highest in Rome I (11.9%; 95% CI 5.1–25.4) and lowest in Rome IV (6.8%; 95% CI 5.8–7.9). Developing countries showed a higher prevalence than developed countries (9.1% versus 8.0%), and prevalence was higher in women, irrespective of the definition used (9.0% versus 7.0%). The pooled prevalence gradually decreased from 1990 to 2020 (12.4% [8.2–18.3] in 1990–2002 versus 7.3% [6.1–8.7] in 2013–2020). The prevalence of FD differs by country, economic status, geographical region, and sex, and the global prevalence has been gradually declining. Despite the heterogeneity of sample population, our study estimates the current global burden of FD and provides information to heath care policy decisions.

Abstract Mobile phone applications (“apps”) are potentially an effective, low-burden method to collect patient-reported outcomes outside the clinical setting. Using such apps consistently and in a timely way is critical for complete and accurate data capture, but no studies of concurrent reporting by cancer patient–caregiver dyads have been published in the peer-reviewed literature. This study assessed app engagement, defined as adherence, timing, and attrition with two smartphone applications, one for adult cancer patients and one for their informal caregivers. This was a single-arm, pilot study in which adult cancer patients undergoing IV chemotherapy or immunotherapy used the DigiBioMarC app, and their caregivers used the TOGETHERCare app, for approximately one month to report weekly on the patients’ symptoms and wellbeing. Using app timestamp metadata, we assessed user adherence, overall and by participant characteristics. Fifty patient–caregiver dyads completed the study. Within the one-month study period, both adult cancer patients and their informal caregivers were highly adherent, with app activity completion at 86% for cancer patients and 84% for caregivers. Caregivers completed 86% of symptom reports, while cancer patients completed 89% of symptom reports. Cancer patients and their caregivers completed most activities within 48 h of availability on the app. These results suggest that the DigiBioMarC and TOGETHERCare apps can be used to collect patient- and caregiver-reported outcomes data during intensive treatment. From our research, we conclude that metadata from mobile apps can be used to inform clinical teams about study participants' engagement and wellbeing outside the clinical setting.

Abstract Despite drastic cellular changes during cleavage, a mitotic spindle assembles in each blastomere to accurately segregate duplicated chromosomes. Mechanisms of mitotic spindle assembly have been extensively studied using small somatic cells. However, mechanisms of spindle assembly in large vertebrate embryos remain little understood. Here, we establish functional assay systems in medaka (Oryzias latipes) embryos by combining CRISPR knock-in with auxin-inducible degron technology. Live imaging reveals several unexpected features of microtubule organization and centrosome positioning that achieve rapid, accurate cleavage. Importantly, Ran-GTP assembles a dense microtubule network at the metaphase spindle center that is essential for chromosome segregation in early embryos. This unique spindle structure is remodeled into a typical short, somatic-like spindle after blastula stages, when Ran-GTP becomes dispensable for chromosome segregation. We propose that despite the presence of centrosomes, the chromosome-derived Ran-GTP pathway has essential roles in functional spindle assembly in large, rapidly dividing vertebrate early embryos, similar to acentrosomal spindle assembly in oocytes.

Abstract Background To which extent physical activity is associated with depression independent of older adults’ physical and cognitive functioning is largely unknown. This cohort study using harmonised data by the EU Ageing Trajectories of Health: Longitudinal Opportunities and Synergies consortium, including over 20 countries, to evaluate the longitudinal association of physical activity (light-to-moderate or vigorous intensity) with depression in older adults (aged ≥ 50 years). Results We evaluated 56,818 participants (light-to-moderate models; 52.7% females, age 50–102 years) and 62,656 participants (vigorous models; 52.7% females, age 50–105 years). Compared to never, light-to-moderate or vigorous physical activity was associated with a lower incidence rate ratio (IRR) of depression (light-to-moderate model: once/week: 0.632, 95% CI 0.602–0.663; twice or more/week: 0.488, 95% CI 0.468–0.510; vigorous model: once/week: 0.652, 95% CI 0.623–0.683; twice or more/week: 0.591, 95% CI 0.566–0.616). Physical activity remained associated with depression after adjustment for the healthy ageing scale, which is a scale that incorporated 41 items of physical and cognitive functioning (light-to-moderate model: once/week: 0.787, 95% CI 0.752–0.824; twice or more/week: 0.711, 95% CI 0.682–0.742; vigorous model: once/week: 0.828, 95% CI 0.792–0.866; twice or more/week: 0.820, 95% CI 0.786–0.856). Conclusions Physical activity, of any intensity and weekly frequency, was a strong protective factor against depression, independent of physical and mental functioning. Health policies could stimulate the incorporation of lower physical activity intensity to protect against depression, which might be more feasible at the population level.

Abstract Background Numerous interventions for irritability in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have been investigated. We aimed to appraise the magnitude of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for irritability in ASD without any restrictions in terms of eligible interventions. Methods We systematically searched PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science until April 15, 2023. We included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with a parallel design that examined the efficacy of interventions for the treatment of irritability in patients of any age with ASD without any restrictions in terms of eligible interventions. We performed a random-effects meta-analysis by pooling effect sizes as Hedges’ g. We classified assessed interventions as follows: pharmacological monotherapy, risperidone plus adjuvant therapy versus risperidone monotherapy, non-pharmacological intervention, and dietary intervention. We utilized the Cochrane tool to evaluate the risk of bias in each study and the GRADE approach to assess the certainty of evidence for each meta-analyzed intervention. Results Out of 5640 references, we identified 60 eligible articles with 45 different kinds of interventions, including 3531 participants, of which 80.9% were males (mean age [SD] = 8.79 [3.85]). For pharmacological monotherapy, risperidone (Hedges’ g − 0.857, 95% CI − 1.263 to − 0.451, certainty of evidence: high) and aripiprazole (Hedges’ g − 0.559, 95% CI − 0.767 to − 0.351, certainty of evidence: high) outperformed placebo. Among the non-pharmacological interventions, parent training (Hedges’ g − 0.893, 95% CI − 1.184 to − 0.602, certainty of evidence: moderate) showed a significant result. None of the meta-analyzed interventions yielded significant effects among risperidone + adjuvant therapy and dietary supplementation. However, several novel molecules in augmentation to risperidone outperformed risperidone monotherapy, yet from one RCT each. Limitations First, various tools have been utilized to measure the irritability in ASD, which may contribute to the heterogeneity of the outcomes. Second, meta-analyses for each intervention included only a small number of studies and participants. Conclusions Only risperidone, aripiprazole among pharmacological interventions, and parent training among non-pharmacological interventions can be recommended for irritability in ASD. As an augmentation to risperidone, several novel treatments show promising effects, but further RCTs are needed to replicate findings. Trial registration PROSPERO, CRD42021243965.

Abstract Although food labeling on food packages is crucial for promoting a healthy diet, limited research has been conducted on how the COVID-19 pandemic (hereinafter “the pandemic”) has affected food labeling awareness. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the changes in trends in food labeling awareness, comprehension, and usage in South Korea during the pandemic. We utilized a nationwide, large-scale, and long-term dataset provided by the Korea Community Health Survey (KCHS) from 2014 to 2022 (total = 1,756,847 participants). This allowed the researchers to assess the long-term trends in the prevalence of food labeling awareness, comprehension, and usage. Furthermore, we investigated the factors associated with awareness specifically related to the pandemic. In total, 1,756,847 adults (54.19% women) participated in this study. The upward slope in overall food labeling awareness became less pronounced and even exhibited a downward slope during the pandemic (βdiff − 1.759; 95% CI − 1.874 to − 1.644). The upward slope in food labeling comprehension and usage became more pronounced during the pandemic (comprehension: βdiff 0.535; 95% CI 0.436–0.634; usage: βdiff 0.693; 95% CI 0.601–0.785). The vulnerability factors associated with lower food labeling awareness during the pandemic included older age, male, obesity, residing in rural areas, lower household income, lower educational level, smoking, and increased alcohol consumption. This study analyzed the 9-year trend in the prevalence of food labeling awareness, comprehension, and usage based on nationally representative data of adults in South Korea from 2014 to 2022. Our findings suggest that personalized nutrition strategies are needed to recognize vulnerable groups with risk factors and improve food labeling awareness among Korean adults during the pandemic.
