Introduction: Fear of progression (FOP) is a significant psychological concern among cancer patients. The Fear of Progression Questionnaire-Short Form (FOPQ-SF) is one of the significant and reliable tools to evaluate FOP. This study aims to validate the psychometric features of the Persian version of FOPQ-SF in Iranian cancer patients. Methods: The translation of the FOPQ-SF was developed using a "forward–backward" approach. This cross-sectional study included 120 cancer patients who completed the questionnaires. The validity and reliability of the FOPQ-SF were evaluated, and the factor structure was examined using both exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Results: The FOPQ-SF demonstrated high test–retest and internal reliability, with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.84. EFA revealed a one-factor structure consisting of 12 items. The FOPQ-SF exhibited high convergent validity, as indicated by significant correlations with anxiety, depression, the total score of HADS, and symptoms. It also demonstrated moderate divergent validity, with negative correlations observed between function and global health. Furthermore, FOP significantly differed among pre-defined groups based on cancer stages. Discussion: The results indicate that the Persian version of the FOPQ-SF is a reliable and valid questionnaire for assessing FOP in 20–60 Iranian cancer patients ages. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A new sensor was fabricated for the determination of ketamine (Ket) in urine samples based on enhanced electrochemiluminescence (EECL) behavior of luminol on a carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified with the conductive molecularly imprinted polymer (CMIP) film. The FESEM technique was applied to demonstrate the rod shape morphology of CMIP. Unlike the common luminol system, EECL signal of luminol no need to addition of hydrogen peroxide and it might find application in efforts to avoid instability of hydrogen peroxide or its interference with the analytes of interest. The EECL emission has been optimized by an investigation of the applied potentials, electrochemical polymerization conditions, template and modifier concentrations, and the pH solution. Under the optimum conditions, the EECL signal depended linearly on the Ket concentration within a range from 0.1 to 1.25 μM with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.08 μM. The sensor exhibited very good recovery percentages ranging from 92% to 101% in urine samples, while precisions were ≤3%. These results suggested that the proposed sensor would be applicable for analysis Ket in complex matrixes without interfering of other drugs (anesthetics) and thus has the potential to be used in clinical application. The content validity ratio (CVR), which is suggested by Lawshe (1975), is a widely used index to quantify content validity. In this study, the Bayesian approach is used to determine the minimum number of experts required to agree an item is essential, and then the CVR is calculated.

Introduction: Intimate partner violence (IPV) against women is a serious public health issue and refers to physically, sexually and psychologically harmful behaviors as well as emotionally controlling behaviors and financial abuse that occur in the form of marriage or cohabitation. Knowing the current situation of the IPV prevalence against women and high-risk areas in the Zanjan city, Iran, can help policymakers to establish better health programs for risk reduction. Methods: This population-based cross-sectional study consisted of married women aged 18-55 years living in Zanjan city in 2021. 760 married women covered by 19 urban comprehensive health service centers (UCHSCs) were selected by the stratified systematic random sampling method. The prevalence of IPV against women was measured in four types: psychological, physical, sexual, and economic. Results: Mean (SD) age of the women was 35.49 (8.76) years. 606 women (79.7%) experienced one type of IPV. The highest and lowest IPV prevalence against women were psychological (76.6%) and economic (12%), respectively. The highest and lowest prevalence of psychological violence were observed in CUHSCs 2 and 17, physical violence in CUHSCs 1 and 14, sexual violence in CUHSCs 2 and 17, and economic violence in CUHSCs 2 and 8, respectively. The severity of violence was higher among self-employment or workers husbands, with low monthly household income, and among younger women. Discussion: The IPV rate in the target population is high, and the highest rate is related to psychological violence. Elevated levels of FOP can be dysfunctional. This study aims to assess the efficacy of an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)-based intervention on FOP, anxiety sensitivity (AS), and quality of life (QOL) in breast cancer patients. Methods: A clinical trial was conducted involving 80 stage I-III active-treatment breast cancer patients with a score greater than 34 on the Fear of Progression Questionnaire-Short Form scale. These patients were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to either an intervention group, which received weekly 70-min sessions of 5-ACT-bsed group-therapy, or a control group that received usual treatment. Variables including FOP, AS, QOL, and ACT-related factors were assessed using ASQ, QLQ-C30, Cognitive Fusion Questionnaire, and Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II at three time points: baseline, post-intervention, and 3-month follow-up. The efficacy of the intervention was evaluated using mixed model analysis across all time-points. Results: The fidelity and acceptability of the ACT-based manual were confirmed using significant methods. A significant reduction in FOP was observed only in the ACT group at post-intervention (P-valueACT < 0.001; Cohen dACT = 1.099). Furthermore, the ACT group demonstrated a more significant reduction in FOP at follow-up. Furthermore, all secondary and ACT-related variables, except for the physical symptoms subscale, showed significant improvement in the ACT group compared to the control group. Conclusions: Our ACT-based manual showed promise for reducing FOP, AS, and improving QOL, and ACT-related variables in breast cancer patients 3 months following the intervention. Given that physical activity can improve health, the present study was conducted to affect education based on the theory of planned behavior on the promotion of physical activity and awareness in the prevention of diabetes in students. This parallel quasi-experimental study with two equal groups of intervention and control was carried out in three stages by multistage sampling method. Students who were physically ill or had absence were excluded from the study. Only the intervention group received the required intervention and the evaluation was done before, immediately after and 3 months after the intervention in both groups. The educational program was implemented in various forms such as oral, pamphlets, brain storming, group discussions, role play for behavior modeling, and written media such as posters, and exercise demonstrations. Data collection was performed in primary schools of Mashhad. The questionnaire was contained; demographic information, diabetes awareness, physical activity based on the theory of planned behavior and physical activity (IPAQ). Data analysis was done by SPSS-16 software using Fisher's exact test, Chi-square, and marginal longitudinal models at the significance level of 0.05. The mean scores of knowledge (p < 0.001), subjective norm (p < 0.001), perceived behavior control (p = 0.015) and physical activity (p < 0.001) immediately after the intervention were higher in the intervention group compared to the control group and the differences were significant. Results of this study supported the effectiveness of education based on theory of planned behavior in the promotion of physical activity and knowledge of students regarding diabetes prevention. Background Asthma is a chronic airway disease characterized by an overreaction of the airways to a wide range of stimuli. Objective To determine the relationship between the incidence and mortality rate of asthma and the levels of PM2.5, ozone, and household air pollution (HAP) from 1990 to 2016 in the world. Materials and methods This ecological study was conducted across 194 countries. The asthma incidence and mortality rates were extracted from IHME Global Burden of Disease databases. Data on average annual population-weighted HAP, PM2.5, and ozone were obtained from the State of Global Air website. A model-based clustering with a finite mixture of matrix-variate normal distributions was used to identify countries with a similar pattern of three air pollution index values. The number of clusters was determined by the Bayesian information criterion, and R software was used for integrated completed likelihood criterion. The random-effects model was applied to evaluate the relationship between asthma incidence in groups and different years by using the SAS software. Results The countries were classified into five clusters in terms of the mean of PM2.5, ozone, and HAP. The incidence rates had a decreasing trend during 1990–2005 and an increasing trend during 2011–2016 in the clusters. The lowest incidence and mortality rates were observed for countries of cluster 3. The highest incidence and mortality rates were observed for countries in clusters 1 and 2, respectively. The incidence and mortality ratio trends experienced an increase in cluster 1 and a decrease in other clusters. Conclusions Depending on the mortality and incidence trends of asthma in countries in each cluster, effective national and international intervention measures are recommended to deal with such pollutants. In some applications, the clustered survival data are arranged spatially such as clinical centers or geographical regions. Incorporating spatial variation in these data not only can improve the accuracy and efficiency of the parameter estimation, but it also investigates the spatial patterns of survivorship for identifying high-risk areas. Competing risks in survival data concern a situation where there is more than one cause of failure, but only the occurrence of the first one is observable. In this paper, we considered Bayesian subdistribution hazard regression models with spatial random effects for the clustered HIV/AIDS data. An intrinsic conditional autoregressive (ICAR) distribution was employed to model the areal spatial random effects. Comparison among competing models was performed by the deviance information criterion. We illustrated the gains of our model through application to the HIV/AIDS data and the simulation studies. The present aimed to examine the effect of the health belief model-based empowerment program on the caring behaviors of mothers with preterm infants. A quasi-experimental study with before-after design was conducted on 40 mothers with preterm infants. They were selected using a convenience sampling method. The intervention was four 30-minute sessions of the empowerment program based on the health-belief model. The instrument for data collection included the demographic data questionnaire, health belief model-based questionnaire, standard self-efficacy questionnaire, and a checklist of mothers' caring behaviors. Data was collected twice at the neonatal intensive care unit and once at the participant's homes. It was found that except for the cues to action and perceived barriers constructs, the empowerment program led to significant changes in the other model constructs including perceived susceptibility (p < 0.003), perceived severity (p < 0.001), perceived benefits (p < 0.005), self-efficacy (p < 0.001), knowledge (p < 0.001) and care behaviors (p < 0.001). The pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) can be accurately estimated, non-invasively, using continuous-wave Doppler (CWD) ultrasound measurement of the peak velocity of a tricuspid regurgitant (TR) jet. During exercise, PASP may increase. The purpose of this study was to examine the responses of PASP by Doppler echocardiography during exercise in normal subject and in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Thirty eight participants in each group, aged 35-65 years old were evaluated using Doppler echocardiography at rest and during treadmill exercise test. PASP was calculated using Bernoulli formula (4 times the tricuspid regurgitant velocity squared). During exercise, PASP increased in both groups with higher values achieved by patients with COPD (27.42 vs 56.10 mm Hg, P< 0.05). None of the normal subjects reached abnormal PASP limit at peak exercise. The systolic pulmonary artery pressure change during exercise increased with age in both group but has no correlation with gender. Also, change of PASP during exercise increase with body mass index in normal subjects but no in COPD patients. COPD patient have higher PASP compared with healthy control subjects both at rest and during exercise. Introduction: Time management skills are essential for nursing students' success, and development of clinical competence. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between time management skills and anxiety and academic motivation of nursing students in Tehran medical sciences universities in 2015. Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out on 441 nursing students in three medical universities in Tehran. Random stratified sampling was done to select the samples. Data were collected using demographic Questionnaire, Time Management Questionnaire (TMQ), Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and Academic Motivation Scale (AMS), which was completed t by self-report. Data were analyzed using SPSS 18 software with descriptive and analytical statistics such as ANOVA, independent t-test, Regression and Pearson Correlation Coefficient. Results: Most participants had a moderate level of time Management skills (49%), State Anxiety (58%), Trait Anxiety (60%) and Academic Motivation (58%). The results also showed a statistically significant negative correlation between the students' TMQ scores and the state anxiety (r= -0.282, p< 0.001) and trait anxiety scores (r= -0.325, p<0.001). Moreover, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the students' TMQ scores and AMS scores (r= 0.279, p< 0.001). Conclusion: Regarding the findings, it seems that it is necessary to plan for improving time management skills in order to enhance academic motivation and reduce anxiety rates among nursing students.
