Abstract This study evaluated the efficacy of tubular constructs containing stem cells and Type I collagen, both independently and in conjunction with low-level laser therapy (LLLT), in repairing the sciatic nerve in a rat model. In this animal study, the right sciatic nerve of 30 male Wistar rats, each weighing 250–300 g, was surgically excised to a length of 8 mm. The rats were then randomly allocated to three groups (n = 10 per group). In Group 1, the excised nerve segment was utilized as an autograft and sutured at the defect site. In Group 2, a tubular construct containing stem cells and Type I collagen was used to bridge the proximal and distal ends of the nerve. Group 3 received the same intervention as group 2, supplemented with 5 weeks of LLLT. After 5 and 12 weeks, rats underwent histological, behavioral, and electrophysiological assessments. Data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), Bonferroni post-hoc test, and Kruskal–Wallis test. At both 5 and 12 weeks, axonal count and nerve repair scores showed no significant differences among the three groups (P > 0.05). Abstract Traumatic brain injury (TBI) frequently leads to cognitive impairments. The toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) ligand, Monophosphoryl lipid A (MPL), has shown promise in modulating neuroinflammatory responses after TBI. We investigated the effects of MPL on spatial memory, passive avoidance memory, neuronal survival, and inflammatory/anti-inflammatory cytokines in rat brain following mild-to-moderate TBI. Rats underwent a learning period in the Morris water maze and shuttle box, followed by TBI induction by controlled cortical impact. MPL was administered into the cerebral ventricle 20 min after TBI. Spatial memory was assessed 7 and 28 days later. Passive avoidance memory was assessed 2 and 6 days after TBI. MPL significantly improved the spatial memory deficit at 7 days but not 28 days after TBI. It also improved impairment of the avoidance memory at both 2 and 6 days after TBI. MPL prohibited the TBI-induced TNF-α increase and IL-10 decrease in the injured region at 7 days post-TBI period. MPL prevented the neuronal loss induced by TBI in the hippocampus. A single administration of MPL shortly after TBI alleviates short-term memory deficits, through anti-inflammatory and anti-cell loss activities. Repeated MPL administration may also inhibit the long-term memory deficits after TBI.

Carbon dots (CDs)-based fluorescence imaging with confocal reflectance effectively localises labelled structures with clear sample visualization. Yet, integrating these modalities into single-fibre cantilever-based endoscopic scanners poses challenges. Thus, we present an endoscopic scanner with a mixed-mode fibre cantilever for dual modalities imaging. The cantilever features two-attached fibre construction for multiple illumination and detection channels without additional optical components. The measured lateral and axial resolutions are 5.81 and 6.52 µm, respectively with field-of-view of 408 × 488 µm. The fluorescence detection capability was first verified using fluorescent microspheres and CD-embedded polymer film, followed by confocal reflectance and CDs-based fluorescence imaging on labelled fibrous network and plant samples. The results demonstrate the complementary strengths of confocal reflectance, which extracts surface profiles, and CDs-based fluorescence, which captures fluorescence signals, leading to precise localization of fluorescence signals within the sample. Switching modality schemes at the scanner’s back-end enables implementation of different modalities.

Objective: The goal of this study is to investigate the potential association between gestational anemia and antenatal depression in pregnant women. Methods: It is a case–control study consisting of 684 pregnant women under 18 years recruited in different tertiary care hospitals, in Lahore, between June 2023 and December 2023. Utilizing an online questionnaire, data collection encompassed demographics, dietary habits, and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). Pregnant women with antenatal hemoglobin (Hb) levels above and below 11.0 g/dL were categorized as a nonanemic and anemic group. Statistical analysis involved Chi-square tests to explore the relationships between gestational parameters and maternal factors. Abstract In the present study, the regime of motion of fullerene molecules on graphene substrate in a specific temperature range is investigated. The potential energy of fullerene molecules is analyzed using classical molecular dynamics methods. Fullerene molecules C36, C50, C60, C76, C80, and C90 are selected due to spherical shapes of different sizes and good motion performance in previous studies. Analysis of the motion regime at different temperatures is one of the main objectives of this study. To achieve this aim, the translational and rotational movements of fullerene molecules are studied independently. In the first step of the investigation, Lennard-Jone's potential energy of fullerene molecules is calculated. Subsequently, the motion regime of different fullerenes is classified based on their displacement and diffusion coefficient. Findings indicate C60 is not appropriate in all conditions. However, C90 and C76 molecules are found to be appropriate candidates in most cases in different conditions. As far as a straight-line movement is considered, the deviation of fullerene molecules is compared by their angular velocities. Although C60 has a lower angular velocity due to its symmetrical shape, it may not move well due to its low diffusion coefficient. Overall, our study helps to understand the performance of different fullerene molecules on graphene substrate and find their possible applications, especially as wheels in nanomachine or nanocarrier structures.

Successful peripheral blood stem cell transplantation depends on infusion of an appropriate number of HPCs to achieve rapid and durable hematologic recovery.Purpose: In this study, we evaluated the use of the Hematopoietic Progenitor Cell count program on the Sysmex XN-3000 hematology analyzer as an effective parameter for enumerating CD34+ cells.Patients and Methods: Whole blood samples from 144 subjects who are either healthy donors or patients scheduled to undergo peripheral blood stem cell collection were collected and hemopoietic stem cells were quantified using CD34 cell enumeration by flow cytometry and XN-HPC by hematology analyzer.Results: The correlation between the two methods was high (r = 0.766; 95% CI: 0.702– 0.818). Passing–Bablok showed an intercept at 3.45 (2.54 to 4.74) with a slope of 0.78 (95% CI 0.69 to 0.89). Residual analysis of this model indicated no significant deviation from linearity (p = 0.360). The receiver operating characteristic curve demonstrated an area under curve to be 0.88 (0.82 to 0.92), with a positive predictive value of 80.3%. The correlation between CD34+ and XN-HPC showed a strong relationship and good agreement with minimal bias.Conclusion: The XN-HPC showed good analytical performance. With the increasing requirements for stem cell transplantation, a technically simple and rapid alternative for stem cell enumeration that is sustainable is highly useful.Keywords: XN-HPC, CD34+, progenitor, leukemia, allogeneic, autologous

Background and Aim: Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious viral disease of cloven-footed animals. It is a major threat to livestock production worldwide, causing significant economic losses. Inactivation of FMD virus (FMDV) is crucial for vaccine development and control of outbreaks. However, traditional inactivation methods can sometimes damage the viral protein, affecting vaccine efficacy. Therefore, finding new inactivating agents that effectively inactivate the virus while preserving the integrity of its proteins is an important research area. This study investigated the optimal materials (0.04% formaldehyde, 0.001 M binary ethylenimine [BEI], or a combination) for inactivating and preserving the specific molecular weight of Serotype O FMDV protein. Materials and Methods: This study used serotype O FMDV isolated from several areas of East Java. The virus was inoculated into baby hamster kidney-21 cells, and the titer was calculated using the TCID50 Assay. The virus was inactivated using 0.04% formaldehyde, 0.001 M BEI, or a combination of 0.04% formaldehyde and 0.001 M BEI. Inactive viral proteins were characterized using sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and western blotting. Results: Serotype O FMDV can be inactivated using 0.04% formaldehyde while preserving specific FMDV proteins, specifically VP0 and VP3 with a molecular weight (MW) of 36 kDa and VP3 with a MW of 24 kDa. Serotype O FMDV can be inactivated by 0.001 M BEI while preserving specific FMDV proteins, specifically VP0 with a MW of 35 kDa, VP3 with a MW of 28 kDa, and VP1 with a MW of 23 kDa. FMDV serotype O can be inactivated using a combination of 0.04% formaldehyde and 0.001 M BEI while preserving specific FMDV proteins, specifically VP0 and VP3 with a MW of 36 kDa and VP3 with a MW of 24 kDa. Conclusion: This study found that 0.04% formaldehyde, alone or in combination with 0.001 M BEI, was effective for inactivating and preserving the specific molecular weight of Serotype O FMDV protein. The limitation of this study was the inactivations of the virus have not yet been tested for their potency on experimental animals. Further research is warranted to investigate the inactivation kinetics of these materials, including their potency on experimental animals. Additionally, a comparison of the inactivation rates between 0.04% formaldehyde alone and the combination with BEI would help to determine the optimal inactivation agent for future applications.

Being one of the most common abdominal surgical procedures, numerous techniques have been adapted to decrease post-operative pain post cholecystectomy. However, the efficacy of intravenous (IV) lidocaine in managing post operative pain after LC is still controversial, according to many recent studies. This study aims to detect the effectiveness of IV lidocaine compared to other medications in managing post-operative pain. PubMed, Scopes, Web of Science and Cochrane Library were searched for eligible studies from inception to June 2023, and a systematic review and meta-analysis was done. According to eligibility criteria, 14 studies (898 patients) were included in our study. The pooled results of the included studies showed that the pain score after 6, 12 and 24 h after the surgery was significantly lower in those who received IV lidocaine as a painkiller (Visual Analogue Scale [VAS] 6H, mean difference [MD] = −1.20, 95% confidence interval [CI] = −2.20, −0.20, P = 0.02; I2 = 98%, VAS 12H, MD = −0.90, 95% CI = −1.52, −0.29, P = 0.004; I2 = 96% and VAS 24H, MD = −0.86, 95% CI = −1.48, −0.24, P = 0.007; I2 = 92%). In addition, IV lidocaine is associated with a significant decrease in the opioid requirement after the surgery (opioid requirements, MD = −29.53, 95% CI = −55.41, −3.66, P = 0.03; I2 = 98%). However, there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of nausea and vomiting after the surgery between the two groups (nausea and vomiting, relative risk = 0.91, 95% CI = 0.57, 1.45, P = 0.69; I2 = 50%). Lidocaine infusion in LC is associated with a significant decrease in post operative pain and in opioid requirements after the surgery.

In this study, residues of chlorpyrifos and diazinon pesticides in 10 apple and 6 grape samples from Maragheh County were analyzed using the GC/MS technique after extraction via the QuEChERS method, known for its convenience, speed, effectiveness, and safety. The study also evaluated the impact of washing treatments on pesticide residue levels and conducted health risk assessments using a Monte Carlo simulation for adults and children. Results revealed the detection of chlorpyrifos and diazinon residues in all 32 apple and grape samples across both washed and unwashed treatments. In 95% (19 samples) and 100% (20 samples) of apple samples, average chlorpyrifos and diazinon residues were below the Iranian maximum residue limit (MRL), whereas 41.67% (5 samples) and 33.33% (4 samples) of grape samples exceeded the MRL. Following washing, chlorpyrifos residues in apple samples decreased by 42.02% and diazinon by 53.84%, while in grape samples, reductions were 39.70% for chlorpyrifos and 46.15% for diazinon. Highest Hazard Quotient (HQ) values for adults and children were observed in apple samples with chlorpyrifos (0.51 and 0.12, respectively) and diazinon (0.45 and 0.105, respectively). Cumulative risk assessment for chlorpyrifos and diazinon pesticide residues indicated no significant health risks for either age group. However, given the widespread use of pesticides, ongoing monitoring is essential to mitigate residues in fruits and vegetables.

PurposeThis research evaluates the combined impact of chemical and biological fertilizers on ‘Zard’ olive trees, aiming to reduce chemical dependency, enhance fertilizer efficiency, and improve nutritional value, yield, and oil quality from 2020 to 2023.MethodA factorial design within a randomized complete block was used, focusing on the first factor, soil chemical fertilizer application (CF) at three levels, 100% (CF100), 75% (CF75), and 50% (CF50) of the fertilizer requirement as determined by soil testing. This was coupled with foliar applications of 20-20-20 NPK fertilizer with micronutrients. The second factor, biological fertilizer application (BF), also comprised three levels: BF0 (control), soil-applied organic fertilizer without biological agents; BF1, which included a soil application of an organic fertilizer mix, mycorrhizal fungi, and the beneficial bacteria Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas fluorescens, supplemented with fulvic acid and amino acids; and BF1+BFF, where trees were treated with both soil and foliar applications of the aforementioned bacterial species, fulvic acid, and amino acids.ResultsThe CF100+BF1+BFF treatment significantly increased fruit length (31.14%), diameter (41.61%), flesh thickness (30.48%), fresh weight (38.76%), dry weight (55.68%), and yield per tree (27.00%) compared to the control (CF100+BF0). Principal Component Analysis (PCA) identified CF100+BF1+BFF, CF75+BF1+BFF, and CF50+BF1+BFF as superior treatments for fruit characteristics, while CF50+BF1+BFF excelled in oil quality indicators.ConclusionThe study recommends the CF75+BF1+BFF and CF50+BF1+BFF treatments for concurrent improvements in fruit and oil quality. The combined use of biological fertilizers with reduced chemical fertilizers is considered the superior and optimal approach for fertilizing ‘Zard’ cultivar olive orchards.

Pneumonia is the leading cause of death in children globally. In low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) pneumonia diagnosis relies on accurate assessment of respiratory rate, which can be unreliable when completed by nurses with less-advanced training. To inform more accurate measurements, we investigate the repeatability of the RRate app used by nurses in Ugandan district hospitals. This secondary analysis included 3,679 children aged 0-5 years. The dataset had two sequential measurements of respiratory rate collected by 14 nurses using the RRate app. We measured agreement between respiratory rate observations while indicating observations' clustering around WHO fast-breathing thresholds. WHO thresholds are 60 breaths per minute (bpm) for under two months (Age-1), 50 bpm for two to 12 months (Age-2), and 40 bpm for 12.1 to 60 months (Age-3). We assessed the repeatability of the paired measurements per user through the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) and calculated an overall ICC value. The respiratory rate measurement took less than 15 seconds for 7,277 (98.9%) of the measurements. Despite respiratory rates clustering around WHO thresholds, breathing classification based on the thresholds (Fast vs normal) was altered between sequential measurements in only 12.6% of children. The mean (SD) respiratory rate by age group was 60 (13.1) bpm for Age-1, 49 (11.9) bpm for Age-2, and 38 (10.1) for Age-3, and the bias (Limits of Agreements) were 0.3 (-10.8-11.3) bpm, 0.4 (-8.5-9.3) bpm, and 0.1 (-6.8, 7.0) bpm for Age-1, Age-2, and Age-3 respectively. The repeatability of the paired respiratory rate measurements was high, with an ICC ≥ 90% for 12 of 14 users and an overall ICC value (95% CI) of 0.95 (0.94-0.95). The RRate measurements were efficient and repeatable. The simplicity, repeatability, and efficiency support its usage in LMICs healthcare facilities, and endorses a more widespread clinical adoption.

This study aims to explore the potential utilization of zakāh funds to meet certain developmental objectives of the state, thereby releasing its available financial resources to reduce state indebtedness. The significance of this research lies in the fact that the indirect role that zakāh can perform in reducing the state’s debt burden has not received much attention and needs further analysis to formulate a mechanism on how zakāh can play an effective role in indirectly supporting the state in reducing its indebtedness. The study employs a descriptive-analytical method to explain the reality of zakāh and assess its use as an indirect tool in reducing the state’s debt burden, drawing on classical jurisprudential sources and contemporary economic studies. The findings indicate that the state cannot be classified among those incapable of settling their debts, as the eligible recipients in this category are individuals. However, the study suggests including infrastructure projects and military spending under the categories of spending in the cause of Allah and on stranded travellers. This approach could alleviate the state's burden in these areas and free up financial resources to reduce indebtedness.

Background: Developing an optimal media for Vero cell lines is crucial as it directly influences cell survival, proliferation, and virus production. The use of serum in cell culture raises safety concerns in biological production. The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency have implemented stricter regulations on the use of animal-derived components in commercial protein manufacturing to ensure patient safety. Objective: This study aims to develop new chemically defined media using peptone hydrolysate as a serum-free alternative. Methods: A rational experimental design was employed to screen and optimize potential serum substitutes. Six types of peptones were tested at varying concentrations to determine the top three candidates. These candidates were subsequently combined into five mixtures to identify the two most effective serum-free media for Vero CCL-81 cells. The evaluation criteria included morphology observation and proliferation assay. The two most promising serum-free formulations were further evaluated for their ability to support virus production and using TCID50 and absolute quantification by RT-qPCR. Results: The results of this study indicate that Mixture 4, consisting of 0.5 g/L Phytone™ Peptone, 0.5 g/L Difco™ Soytone, and 2 g/L Bacto™ Malt, significantly enhanced Vero CCL-81 cell proliferation and produced high viral titers. The developed medium demonstrated comparable performance to commercially available serum-free media. Conclusion: Peptone-based serum-free media provide a robust alternative for supporting Vero CCL-81 cell growth and are suitable for virus production.

Background Glioma is the second most common type of brain tumor, accounting for 24% of all brain tumor cases. The current diagnostic procedure is through an invasive tissue sampling to obtain histopathological analysis, however, not all patients are able to undergo a high-risk procedure. Circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) are considered as promising biomarkers for glioma due to their sensitivity, specificity, and non-invasive properties. There is currently no defined miRNA profile that contributes to determining the grade of glioma. This study aims to find the answer for “Is there any significant miRNA that able to distinguish different grades of glioma?”. Methods This study was conducted to compare the expression of miRNAs between low-grade glioma (LGG) and high-grade glioma (HGG). Eighteen blood plasma samples from glioma patients and 6 healthy controls were analyzed for 798 human miRNA profiles using NanoString nCounter Human v3 miRNA Expression Assay. The differential expressions of miRNAs were then analyzed to identify the differences in miRNA expression between LGG and HGG. Results Analyses showed significant expressions in 12 miRNAs between LGG and HGG, where all of them were downregulated. Out of these significant miRNAs, miR-518b, miR-1271-3p, and miR-598-3p showed the highest potential for distinguishing HGG from LGG, with area under curve (AUC) values of 0.912, 0.889, and 0.991, respectively. Conclusion miR-518b, miR-1271-3p, and miR-598-3p demonstrate significant potentials in distinguishing LGG and HGG.

PURPOSEChemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) poses a substantial challenge in breast cancer (BC) chemotherapy, affecting the patient's quality of life. Recent studies have focused on exploring predictors and patterns of CIPN occurrence. We aimed to develop a prediction model for CIPN occurrence using a classification and regression tree (CART) algorithm.METHODSIn this prospective study of 170 patients with BC undergoing chemotherapy, patient-reported adaptation of the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events version 4.0 was used to assess CIPN occurrence. Multivariable analysis using the CART model was tuned using 10-fold cross-validation to identify baseline predictors for CIPN throughout chemotherapy. A receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was conducted for the CART model. A multivariable logistic regression was conducted from the variables included in the CART model to assess the strength and direction of the association.RESULTSThe prevalence of CIPN was 64.7% (n = 110). The most decisive predictor of CIPN occurrence in the CART model was the subject's C-reactive protein (CRP) level. CRP level >3.91 mg/dL, BMI >21.85 kg/m2, and a marital status of unmarried have predicted a probability of 100% in CIPN occurrence. The CART model showed an accuracy of 65.9%, sensitivity of 51.7%, specificity of 73.2%, and an area under the curve of 0.705. A CRP level of >3.91 mg/dL and a neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) of >2.82 are significantly associated with the occurrence of CIPN (odds ratio [OR], 2.01 [95% CI, 1.01 to 4.01]; P = .046, OR, 2.09 [95%, CI, 1.02 to 4.24]; P = .042, respectively).CONCLUSIONBaseline CRP, NLR, BMI level, and marital status are significant predictors of CIPN occurrence throughout chemotherapy. Our CART model was better at ruling out individuals who would not experience CIPN. The CART model may provide insight into the future development of individualized patient care and prevention strategies.

Abstract Background Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is a debilitating condition, affecting women of reproductive age. It is characterized by severe periodic physical and psychological symptoms, which end after the onset of menstruation. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of emotion-focused therapy (EFT) for PMDD patients. Methods A total of 48 PMDD women, in the age range of 18–44 years, were randomly assigned to two intervention and control groups. The intervention group participated in 16 weeks of EFT treatment, while the control group was selected based on the waiting list (waitlist control group) and followed-up after three months. Forty-four patients finally completed this study. The participants completed the Premenstrual Syndrome Screening Tool (PSST), Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS), and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) in the first premenstrual period before treatment, the first premenstrual period after treatment, and the premenstrual period three months after treatment. Results Based on the repeated measure analysis of variances, the total score of DERS and the total score of PSST decreased significantly (P 0.05). Conclusion Based on the present results, EFT can be an effective treatment for alleviating the symptoms of PMDD. This treatment can reduce the emotion regulation difficulties of women with PMDD and alleviate the symptoms of depression and stress. Background and Aim: The intricate healing process involves distinct sequential and overlapping phases in thermal injury. To maintain the zone of stasis in Jackson’s burn wound model, proper wound intervention is essential. The extent of research on the histoarchitecture of thermal wound healing and the application of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-free-based therapy is limited. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of MSC-secretome-based hydrogel for treating partial-thickness cutaneous thermal burn wounds. Materials and Methods: Eighteen male Wistar rats were divided into three groups, namely the hydrogel base (10 mg), hydrogel secretome (10 mg) and Bioplacenton™ (10 mg) treatment groups. All groups were treated twice a day (morning and evening) for 7 days. Skin tissue samples from the animals were processed for histological evaluation using the formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded method on days 3 and 7. Results: This study’s findings showed that secretome hydrogel expedited thermal burn wound healing, decreasing residual burn area, boosting collagen deposition and angiogenesis, guiding scar formation, and influencing the inflammation response facilitated by polymorphonuclear leukocytes and macrophages. Conclusion: The secretome hydrogel significantly improves healing outcomes in partial-thickness cutaneous thermal burn wounds. The administration of secretome hydrogel accelerates the reduction of the residual burn area and promotes fibroblast proliferation and collagen density. The repairment of histo-architecture of the damaged tissue was also observed such as the reduction of burn depth, increased angiogenesis and epidermal scar index while the decreased dermal scar index. Furthermore, the secretome hydrogel can modulate the immunocompetent cells by decreasing the polymorphonuclear and increasing the mononuclear cells. Thus, it effectively and safely substitutes for thermal injury stem cell-free therapeutic approaches. The study focuses on the microscopical evaluation of secretome hydrogel; further research to investigate at the molecular level may be useful in predicting the beneficial effect of secretome hydrogel in accelerating wound healing.

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in Indonesia continues to develop so that it is effective and relevant to the needs of the times. The priority of the PAI learning approach is to help students understand, internalize, and apply values ​​in everyday life. Jean Piaget's constructivist theory is an approach that is relevant to the phenomenon of PAI learning development. This study examines the relevance of Jean Piaget's constructivist philosophy to PAI in Indonesia. This study is a literature review that explores Piaget's constructivist concepts and their implementation in PAI using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, which involves three stages: planning, execution, and reporting. The findings indicate that Piaget's constructivist principles can be adapted in PAI in several ways: religious knowledge is actively and independently constructed by students, the focus in PAI is on the process rather than the outcome, PAI is student-centered, Islamic religious educators act as facilitators, a supportive environment for knowledge construction is built, and appropriate language is used in the material delivery process. The application of these principles in PAI can make students more active, creative, independent, critical, and innovative in their learning. Abstrak Pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di Indonesia terus berkembang agar efektif dan relevan dengan kebutuhan zaman. Prioritas pendekatan pembelajaran PAI membawa peserta didik memahami, menginternalisasi, dan menerapkan nilai-nilai dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Teori konstruktivisme Jean Piaget sebagai salah satu pendekatan relevan dengan fenomena perkembangan pembelajaran PAI. Penelitian ini mengkaji relevansi pemikiran filsafat konstruktivisme Jean Piaget bagi PAI di Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan yang mengkaji konsep konstruktivisme Jean Piaget dan implementasinya dalam PAI dengan menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) yang melibatkan tiga tahapan: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan pelaporan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prinsip-prinsip konstruktivisme Jean Piaget dapat diadaptasi dalam PAI melalui beberapa cara, antara lain: pengetahuan tentang agama Islam dibangun secara aktif dan mandiri oleh peserta didik, menekankan proses dalam PAI daripada hasil, PAI berpusat pada peserta didik, pendidik agama Islam diposisikan sebagai fasilitator, membangun lingkungan yang mendukung konstruk pengetahuan, dan penggunaan bahasa yang tepat dalam penyampaian materi. Penerapan prinsip-prinsip ini dalam pembelajaran PAI dapat membuat peserta didik lebih aktif, kreatif, mandiri, kritis, dan inovatif dalam belajar.

Background and Aim: Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious viral disease that endangers livestock and the environment with significant economic consequences. This study aimed to validate the inactivation of the Indonesian isolate of foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) with various formaldehyde concentration. Materials and Methods: The experiment started with FMDV being adapted on BHK-21 cells until cytopathic effects (CPE) appeared. The biological titer of the virus was determined using the 50% tissue culture infectious dose (TCID50) assay. The virus was inactivated by exposing the isolate to different formaldehyde (FA) concentrations (0.025%, 0.05%, 0.1%, and 0.2%) at 37°C for 24 h, and residual infectivity was assessed using CPE scoring of reinoculated BHK-21 cells. Results: 72 h post-inoculation, the virulence of the FMDV isolate was indicated by complete CPE on BHK-21 monolayer cells, with a TCID50 value of 109/mL; CPE scoring did not signify significant differences (p < 0.05) among 0.025%, 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.2% FA, and the negative control. All treatment groups showed significant differences (p < 0.05) from the positive control (C+). FA concentrations inactivated the FMDV isolate under the given conditions. 0.025% and 0.05% FA continued to display CPE through the third passage, while 0.2% FA did not significantly differ from 0.1% FA (p > 0.05). 0.1% FA is the optimal concentration for safely and effectively inactivating FMDV. Conclusion: All of the formaldehyde concentrations can completely inactivate the FMDV isolate, with the most optimal and safe concentration being 0.1%.

Complex homeostatic control mechanisms are tools to adjust the food birds eat and their appetite. Birds and mammals differ in several ways considering food intake regulation. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the special effects of the intracerebroventricular (ICV) injection of spexin and its interaction with nitric oxide, serotonin and corticotropin receptors on central food intake regulation in broilers. In the test 1, Broilers received ICV injection of saline, PCPA (p-chlorophenylalanine,1.25 µg), spexin (10 nmol) and PCPA+spexin. In test 2–7, 8-OH-DPAT, SB-242084 (5-HT2C, 1.5 µg), L-arginine (Precursor of nitric oxide, 200 nmol), L-NAME (nitric oxide synthetize inhibitor, 100 nmol), Astressin-B (30 µg) and Astressin2-B (30 µg) were injected to Broilers instead of the PCPA. Industrial investment in Iran, especially in the wake of sanctions’ intensification in the 2010s, decreased significantly. The government implemented fiscal policy which has been associated with uncertainty. In this paper, using a dynamic panel model and generalized method of moments, we examined the effect of fiscal policy uncertainty on investment in 24 industrial groups in Iran over the period 2002-2020. The results indicated that the growth of fiscal level shock,resulted in a low but positive effect on investment directly. However,the coefficient of cross effect between the growth of fiscal level shock and the fiscal policy uncertainty undermined the positive effect on industrial investment. The government has had two effects on industrial investment indirectly through the demand side shock. By creating demand, it has had a positive effect on industrial investment with the cross effect between the growth of the fiscal level shock and industrial sales. However, on the other hand, the growth of the fiscal level shock has been associated with the creation and growth of fiscal policy uncertainty, so that the cross effect between the growth of fiscal policy uncertainty and the growth of industrial sales on industrial investment shows a high negative coefficient. The results of these two effects suggest that due to high uncertainty,the indirect government effect on investment in 24 industrial groups is negative, which happens through the demand-side shock. Moreover, the growth of fiscal policy uncertainty, sanctions, and interest rates, respectively, have had the most adverse effect on investment in 24 industrial groups in Iran.

Optical imaging is crucial for cell examination, but its instruments' bulky optics limit their flexibility, and a single wavelength provides limited sample information. This paper presents a fibre cantilever-based endoscopic scanner for multiwavelength reflectance confocal microscopy. The scanner utilises the dual-core fibre cantilever to produce Lissajous scans while accommodating two distinct wavelengths. Coloured surfaces were imaged at wavelengths of 520 nm, 635 nm and 850 nm, and verified with a colour chart and reflectance spectroscopy. Blue ink-stained plant stem cross-section samples were also imaged and compared. Furthermore, the scanner performed structure morphology imaging on cellular samples. The 520 nm and 635 nm wavelengths create low- and high-contrast images respectively, while the 850 nm wavelength delivers a sharper image while also capturing the surface profile of the target sample. The findings demonstrated the endoscopic scanner’s capability to extract information based on different wavelengths, providing a more diverse view of the sample and enhancing the surface profile. Using 635 nm and 850 nm, the reconstructed images have a contrast enhancement of 67.9% and 90.8% respectively from 520 nm. The smallest feature size measured on the cellular sample is 5 µm. The endoscopic scanner has the potential to study microfluidic and cell morphology.

Turnover is a common occurrence where employees choose to leave an organization. Despite previous research on turnover intentions and job satisfaction, the impact of work experience and perceived alternative job opportunities, especially during economic crises, has not been adequately studied. This study aims to explore the relationship between turnover intentions and job satisfaction, considering factors of work experience and perceptions of other job opportunities. This study was conducted in Lebanon, and 156 educators were surveyed via electronic questionnaires. The data analysis included descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and hierarchical regression modeling. The findings reveal a significant negative correlation between turnover intention and job satisfaction (r = –0.315*, p < 0.05). Perceived alternative job opportunities do not show a significant correlation with job satisfaction (ß = –0.028, p > 0.05), thus having no moderating role. However, work experience significantly moderates the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intentions (ß = –0.052*, p < 0.05). Despite the negative impact on job satisfaction, Lebanon’s economic crisis affects teachers’ decision to stay due to limited job opportunities. In this study, a novel method, Tubular Channel Angular Pressing-Extrusion (TCAPE), is introduced for manufacturing ultrafine microtubes. This method, integrating Tubular Channel Angular Pressing (TCAP) and microtube extrusion (MTE) processes, reduces the number of stages in the fabrication of ultrafine microtubes while achieving favorable mechanical properties. In the TCAPE process, the tube undergoes Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) in the shaping region and is subsequently shaped into the desired geometric dimensions through the extrusion process at the end. To investigate the effect of the number of SPD passes on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the produced microtubes, one-pass and two-pass SPD were applied. Metallography, XRD testing, tensile testing, and hardness measurement were employed for analysis. For a one-pass SPD, the sample was processed only through the TCAPE process (TCAP + MTE), while for a two-pass SPD, the sample underwent the TCAP process first and then underwent TCAPE for the second processing step (2TCAP + MTE). Tensile test results indicate an increase in Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) from the initial value of 73 MPa–103.1 MPa and 148 MPa, and elongation altered from the initial value of 10 to 7.1 and 17.5 after two-pass SPD. Metallography results show a reduction in grain size from the initial value of 160 μm to 15 μm and 3 μm after two-pass SPD. The TCAPE process, due to applying higher strain (1.955) compared to the TCAP process (1.64), exhibits better performance in refining the microstructure and improving mechanical properties. The hardness and ultimate strength of the TCAPE-processed sample are 13.33% and 13.5% higher than those of the TCAP-processed sample, respectively.

Open surgical repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is often regarded as a near-permanent operation with little long-term complications. Reported herein is a case of delayed rupture of an enlarging AAA sac after open repair requiring re-exploration in a patient presenting with flank pain and ipsilateral hydronephrosis. The natural history of a large, excluded aneurysm sac after open AAA repair, hypothesized etiology for this rare occurrence, and proposed diagnostic and therapeutic algorithm are described.

Summary: Background: It is unknown if early COVID-19 monoclonal antibody (mAb) therapy can reduce risk of Long COVID. The mAbs amubarvimab/romlusevimab were previously demonstrated to reduce risk of hospitalization/death by 79%. This study assessed the impact of amubarvimab/romlusevimab on late outcomes, including Long COVID. Methods: Non-hospitalized high-risk adults within 10 days of COVID-19 symptom onset enrolled in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase 2/3 trial of amubarvimab/romlusevimab for COVID-19 treatment. Late symptoms, assessed using a participant-completed symptom diary, were a pre-specified exploratory endpoint. The primary outcome for this analysis was the composite of Long COVID by participant self-report (presence of COVID-19 symptoms as recorded in the diary at week 36) or hospitalization or death by week 36. Inverse probability weighting (IPW) was used to address incomplete outcome ascertainment, giving weighted risk ratios (wRR) comparing amubarvimab/romlusevimab to placebo. Findings: Participants received amubarvimab/romlusevimab (n = 390) or placebo (n = 390) between January and July 2021. Median age was 49 years, 52% were female, 18% Black/African American, 49% Hispanic/Latino, and 9% COVID-19-vaccinated at entry. At week 36, 103 (13%) had incomplete outcome ascertainment, and 66 (17%) on amubarvimab/romlusevimab and 92 (24%) on placebo met the primary outcome (wRR = 0.70, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.53–0.93). The difference was driven by fewer hospitalizations/deaths with amubarvimab/romlusevimab (4%) than placebo (13%). Among 652 participants with available diary responses, 53 (16%) on amubarvimab/romlusevimab and 44 (14%) on placebo reported presence of Long COVID. Interpretation: Amubarvimab/romlusevimab treatment, while highly effective in preventing hospitalizations/deaths, did not reduce risk of Long COVID. Background: The research investigates the application of deep learning models for sentiment analysis on Twitter data related to Indonesia's Sirekap system. Sentiment analysis is crucial for understanding public opinion and enhancing the transparency and reliability of election result recapitulation processes. Objective: The objective of this study is to compare the performance of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and CNN-LSTM models in analyzing sentiments from tweets about the Sirekap system. The study aims to identify the most effective model and preprocessing techniques to improve sentiment classification accuracy. Methods: A comprehensive data preprocessing pipeline was implemented, including cleansing, case folding, tokenizing, normalization, stopword removal, and stemming. To address class imbalance, the SMOTE technique was applied. The models were trained and evaluated using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. Pre-trained word embeddings were used to enhance model performance. Results: The CNN model achieved an accuracy of 85.90%, outperforming the CNN-LSTM model, which achieved 79.91% accuracy. Additionally, the CNN model demonstrated superior precision, recall, and F1-score metrics compared to the CNN-LSTM model. The thorough preprocessing and handling of class imbalance significantly contributed to the enhanced performance of the CNN model. Conclusion: The research emphasizes the effectiveness of deep learning approaches, particularly CNNs, in sentiment analysis tasks. The findings highlight the importance of comprehensive preprocessing and class imbalance handling. The use of pre-trained word embeddings and various evaluation metrics ensures robust model performance. These insights contribute to improving the accuracy and efficiency of sentiment classification, thereby enhancing the reliability and transparency of election result recapitulation processes.

Cascading rotor and stator in axial flux permanent magnet (AFPM) machine is a beneficial concept to increase the power density without increasing the diameter of the machine. Multi-stage AFPM can provide higher torque capability in applications requiring high power density. In this regard single-stator double- rotor (SSDR) and double-stator single-rotor (DSSR) are efficient machines compared to single -stage AFPM. Since SSDR and DSSR are also considered modular units to make multi-stage AFPM, like single-stage AFPM, this paper makes a comparison with analysis between SSDR and DSSR AFPM machines. Based on 3-D finite element analysis (FEA), the air-gap magnetic flux, voltage, current, torque, torque ripple, power and power density, efficiency are comparatively investigated to evaluate their performance. Results show that fully coreless topology only be achieved in SSDR AFPM machine with a higher power density. Finally, a prototype multi-stage coreless generator has been developed using a single stator double rotor (SSDR) configuration to justify the fully coreless concept. This prototype coreless generator eliminates eddy current losses and reduces weight, making it a suitable option for certain portable applications.

Vero cell culture as a platform for producing viral vaccines is an established and standardized process in vaccine manufacture. Generally, Vero cell culture requires media as a source of nutrition with serum supplementation to provide growth factors. However, the serum has several disadvantages including batch to batch variation and adventitious agent. Therefore, chemically defined serum-free media (SFM) are formulated by using standardized growth factors. Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) is one of growth factors that showed adequate mitogenic support in serum-free medium system, especially in Vero cells. In this study, SFM-EGF media was compared with serum supplementation media, namely MEM 10% and MEM 5% FBS supplementation. The cell morphology was observed using an inverted microscope and their proliferation was evaluated using a MTT colorimetric-based assay. Vero E6 and Vero CCL-81 cells morphology did not show any morphological changes. Vero E6 and Vero CCL-81 proliferation in SFM-EGF media on day one to four did not show a significant difference compared to MEM 10% or MEM 5% serum supplementation media. However, the OD values of both Vero E6 and Vero CCL-81 cells given SFM-EGF media produced an average value below MEM 10% but higher than MEM 5% FBS supplementation. As such, this study proved that utilizing SFM-EGF could support the proliferation of Vero E6 and Vero CCL-81 cells.

This study aimed to examine contemporary Islamic politics in Tunisia, specifically the democratic system Post-Arab Spring. The political struggle of Muslim countries triggered the Arab Spring movement, with Tunisia pioneering a Jasmine Revolution from 2010-2011 to obtain global attention. Furthermore, the investigation constitutes a literature review to analyze contemporary Islamic politics in Tunisia, specifically Post-Arab Spring. The influence of Islamic politics is an important issue, specifically in strengthening demands for democracy by analyzing the struggle in Tunisia. Therefore, this study provides the main focus of state democracy, which is a phenomenon of historical studies and political struggles. The analysis process is carried out in four stages, namely source finding, criticism, interpretation, and writing. The results show that there is a harmonious coexistence between Islam and democracy in Tunisia compared to other countries in the Middle East. The principles of democracy are evident in the organization of elections, freedom of speech, religious tolerance, and recognition of gender equality.

Perubahan iklim memengaruhi berbagai kebutuhan dasar kehidupan manusia. Anak-anak lebih rentan dibandingkan orang dewasa terhadap perubahan lingkungan, baik langsung maupun tidak langsung. Hak anak untuk bertumbuh kembang, mendapat pelayanan kesehatan yang baik, kesejahteraan, pendidikan, dan gizi sebagaimana tercantum dalam Konvensi Hak Anak akan dipengaruhi oleh perubahan iklim, krisis pola cuaca, dan dampak jangka pendek dan jangka panjangnya. Kelangsungan hidup anak sebagai generasi penerus menjadi terancam oleh perubahan iklim, terutama, mereka yang rentan akan menanggung beban penyakit yang sangat besar akibat perubahan iklim ini, Kesenjangan sosial dan edukasi di antara negara miskin dan maju sangat menentukan dampak perubahan iklim terhadap anak-anak. Negara paling berisiko terdampak merupakan negara berkembang minim sumber daya dan infrakstruktur untuk menanggulangi perubahan iklim. Anak-anak yang kurang beruntung akan menanggung beban kesehatan yang sangat tinggi dan tidak adil akibat perubahan iklim ini.

The development of curricula is a critical aspect in creating quality education that is relevant to religious values. This study deals with the "Development of Curriculum al-Islam, Kemuhammadiyahan, and Language (ISMUBA)" as a manifestation of the characteristic of education in Muhammadiyah institutions. ISMUBA is not just an abbreviation, but a reflection of the commitment to formulate a curriculum that integrates Islamic values, religion, and language as a holistic unity. This approach creates a holistic and in-depth learning environment, encompassing an understanding of Islamic teachings, the spirit of Muhammadiyah, and the mastery of language as an effective means of communication. The curriculum is designed to build a strong character, good ethics, and language skills that support the development of learners in a global context. ISMUBA also emphasized the active involvement of learners in the development of language skills, both Arabic as the language of the Qur'an and as a means of daily communication. Thus, ISMUBA not only produces graduates who have academic intelligence, but also fosters religious attitudes, humility, and comprehensive language skills. This study details the pedagogical principles underlying ISMUBA, describes the process of curriculum development, as well as gives insight into its impact on character formation and student performance. It is hoped that the implementation of ISMUBA can be an inspiring model for other educational institutions that advance religious values and integrate with general education.

Introduction: Feelings of shame and guilt are seen in a wide range of psychological disorders, and these feelings are of high importance in disorders related to eating and obesity. Aim: The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the Guilt and Shame Questionnaire. Method: This study was applied in terms of aim and in terms of methodology in the field of descriptive-correlation researches of psychometric type, respectively. The statistical population included all individuals with high Body Mass Indexes (BMI > 25) who referred to nutrition clinics affiliated to Iran University of Medical Sciences in 2022, 573 of whom were selected using convenience sampling. Data were collected using External Shame Scales (1994) and Body Image Flexibility Questionnaire (2013) and Guilt and Shame Questionnaire (2022). In order to analyze the findings, the internal consistency method with Cronbach's alpha was performed, and to check the construct validity with confirmatory factor analysis, SPSS version 25 and Lisrel version 8.8 were employed. Results: The results showed that this scale has desirable psychometric properties. There is a significant positive correlation (r=0.66) between the current Questionnaire and the Scale of External Shame, and a significant negative correlation (r=-0.63) with the Scale of Flexibility Body Image. Also, Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the total scale was 0.87. Conclusion: Considering the desirable psychometric features of the Shame and Guilt Scale and the short form of the questionnaire (8 questions), this questionnaire can be used in people with high body mass indexes and people with eating disorders.

Recently, the issue of religious moderation has become quite an interesting issue to discuss, in fact, this issue is expected to become the last bastion in caring for religion and nationality. Because every religion does not teach about violence and destruction, but teaches peace and harmony. Based on this background, researchers want to look at the concept of religious moderation from an Islamic and Buddhist perspective through comparative analysis. Regarding the results of this study. 1) Islam views religious moderation as maintaining balance, justice, tolerance in practicing faith and interacting with other people. Because with moderation, religion can create pillars of harmony, peace and harmony, both moderation in Aqidah, worship and social interaction. 2) Just as Islam teaches religious moderation, this is also the case in Buddhism. This is based on the teachings that Buddha taught containing dimensions of moderation, such as humanity, tolerance, and the teachings of non-violence. Thus, it can be concluded that there are similarities and differences regarding the concept of religious moderation in the two religions. The similarity is that they both have the view that moderate religion is the religious practice desired by both religions. Meanwhile, the difference is that in Islam the basis of religious moderation is balance, while in Buddhism it is love.

Special education teachers encounter considerable occupational challenges, yet there is limited information concerning musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) within this group. Therefore, this study aimed to address this gap by determining the prevalence of MSD, investigating associated factors of MSD, and identifying predictors of MSD among special education teachers. A cross-sectional study was conducted among special education teachers in Kota Kinabalu and Penampang, Sabah. Data were collected through self-administered questionnaires and musculoskeletal fitness assessments. Chi-square tests and independent t-tests were utilized to determine factors associated with MSD, while multiple logistic regression was performed to develop a comprehensive predictive model for MSD, which was then validated and tested for model fitness. A total of 122 individuals participated in the study, yielding a response rate of 95 %. The findings revealed a high prevalence of MSD (77.9 %) among special education teachers, with the lower back, shoulder, neck, knee, upper back, and foot being the most affected regions. The multivariable regression model identified several predictors of MSD, including marital status (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] = 4.78, 95 % confidence interval [CI] = 1.49–15.40), body fat percentage (aOR = 1.06, 95 % CI = 1.00–1.12), teaching in prolonged standing for few days a week (aOR = 3.20, 95 % CI = 0.99–10.29) or every day (aOR = 6.20, 95 % CI = 1.44–26.70), mindfulness (aOR = 0.47, 95 % CI = 0.22–0.98), and back extensor strength (aOR = 5.86, 95 % CI = 1.92–17.92). This study highlights the necessity of implementing interventions focusing on the ergonomic, psychological, and musculoskeletal fitness components to mitigate the prevalence of MSD and improve the overall well-being of special education teachers.

Grapes (Vitis vinifera L.) are a crucial crop globally, particularly in arid regions where water scarcity is a concern. This study investigated the physiological and biochemical responses of several grape varieties to water deficit stress. The research was conducted within the controlled environment in a factorial experiment with a completely randomized setup comprising three replicates. The first variable, irrigation, consisted of two levels: a 15-day water stress and a control group receiving irrigation maintained at field capacity. The second variable was the grape variety, encompassing a total of 15 commercial varieties. Water deficit stress reduced chlorophyll content in all varieties. ‘Bidaneh Sefid’ variety had the highest chlorophyll content (8.76 µg.g-1 FW). Furthermore, this variety demonstrated superior relative water content under stress (79.22%), whereas ‘Keshmesh’ variety exhibited such performance under normal conditions. The results illustrated a proline content range spanning from 48.48 to 61.01 µmol.g-1 FW. Notably, water deficit stress resulted in elevated proline content, with the highest mean observed in the ‘Khalili’ variety under such stress conditions. Water scarcity impacted grape traits significantly: reduced chlorophyll, relative water content, increased leakage, higher proline, carbohydrate, anthocyanin, and phenols, with varying antioxidants. ‘Bidaneh Sefid’ variety had most chlorophyll, ‘Khalili’ highest proline under stress, ‘Maskeh’ variety excelled in carbohydrate. ‘Fakhri’, ‘Filam Seedless’, ‘Shiregi’ varieties topped anthocyanins; ‘Khalili’ variety showed best antioxidant activity. The findings highlight specific grape varieties that exhibit desirable traits under water deficit stress, such as higher chlorophyll content, proline accumulation, and carbohydrate accumulation. These varieties could serve as valuable genetic resources for breeding programs aimed at developing drought-tolerant grape cultivars. Additionally, the identification of varieties with enhanced antioxidant capacity and anthocyanin levels holds potential for the development of grape-based products with possible health benefits.

Abstract Background Previous meta-analyses estimating the prevalence of the post-COVID-19 condition (PCC) were confounded by the lack of negative control groups. This may result in an overestimation of the prevalence of those experiencing PCC, as these symptoms are non-specific and common in the general population. In this study, we aimed to compare the burden of persistent symptoms among COVID-19 survivors relative to COVID-19-negative controls. Methods A systematic literature search was conducted using the following databases (PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus) until July 2023 for comparative studies that examined the prevalence of persistent symptoms in COVID-19 survivors. Given that many of the symptoms among COVID-19 survivors overlap with post-hospitalization syndrome and post-intensive care syndrome, we included studies that compare the prevalence of persistent symptoms in hospitalized COVID-19 patients relative to non-COVID-19 hospitalized patients and in non-hospitalized COVID-19 patients relative to healthy controls that reported outcomes after at least 3 months since infection. The results of the meta-analysis were reported as odds ratios with a 95% confidence interval based on the random effects model. Results Twenty articles were included in this study. Our analysis of symptomatology in non-hospitalized COVID-19 patients compared to negative controls revealed that the majority of symptoms examined were not related to COVID-19 infection and appeared equally prevalent in both cohorts. Uncontrolled and unsafe use of pesticides can lead to acute and chronic toxicity in farmers, with neuropathy being one of the most common symptoms of chronic toxicity. However, the effects of this toxicity on farmers' electroneuromyography (ENMG) are still unclear. To address this, we conducted a cross-sectional study from July to October 2017 in Ngablak District, Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. Eligible farmers who were exposed to pesticides underwent electrophysiology examinations, as well as additional tests such as physical examination and laboratory testing. We collected general information such as age and work history by interview. In total, 64 farmers were included in this study. Out of these, 44 farmers were found to have polyneuropathy, with 41 of them having motor polyneuropathy and 19 of them having sensory polyneuropathy. Our findings showed that low blood cholinesterase was associated with distal latency prolongation (p-value: 0.014). The group exposed to organophosphate/carbamate pesticides was also significantly associated with prolonged distal latency (p-value: 0.012). However, motor polyneuropathy was significantly associated with chronic exposure to organophosphate/carbamate pesticides (p-value: 0.009) and not with low blood cholinesterase levels (p-value: 0.454). The study concludes that chronic exposure to organophosphate or carbamate pesticides could result in polyneuropathy disease, particularly in the motor system.

The present research has been written to assess the capabilities and zoning of the geo-tourism capabilities of Tarom. The research method in the current research is mixed (quantitative-qualitative) with a practical purpose and analytical-exploratory nature; in order to analyze the information, Comanescu’s capability measurement method, Fuzzy Network Analysis Model (ANP-FUZZY), and also GIS software. The research results showed that the geo-sites of Tarom County have high geo-tourism values. Meanwhile, the geo-site of the Valider Sheit River has the highest value, the geo-site of the Ghezel Ozan River ranks second, and the Nokian River ranks third. Also, the investigation of the geo-tourism criteria of Tarom shows that 46.49% of the studied area is suitable for the development of geo-tourism. On the other hand, the geo-sites with high value in the Comanescu Model are consistent with the potential geo-tourism zones resulting from zoning in the county and have an acceptable level.IntroductionGeo-tourism is a sustainable method of tourism that promotes environmental and cultural understanding and conservation of landscapes through the experience of various geological and geomorphological features of this geosphere, and its development can strengthen economic viability, community improvement, and geographic protection of landscape features. Literature ReviewThe concept and approach of geo-tourism developed in the late 1980s after the recognition of geologists' schools, universities, and museums in the UK (Hose, 1995; Hose et al., 2011). The term "geo-tourism" was first coined in 1995 by Thomas A. Hughes, a professor of Earth Sciences at the University of Bristol in England (Antic & Tomic, 2017; Grover & Mahanta, 2018). According to Thomas A. Hose (2005), geo-tourism is: "Ensuring the value and social preservation of geological and geomorphological sites and their resources and providing interpretive facilities and services for the use of students, tourists, and other casual recreationists." This definition clearly shows that the main focus of geo-tourism is interpretation, promotion, and conservation, which are all essential elements for the development of geo-tourism. Newsome and Dowling (2010) have stated that geo-tourism is an arrangement of tourism in natural areas that focuses specifically on landscape and geology and their interpretation, promotion, and protection with the help of education (Jonic, 2018).MethodologyThe research method in the current research is mixed (quantitative-qualitative), with a practical purpose and analytical-exploratory nature. In this regard, first, the geo-sites of Tarom County were identified using interviews and field observations. In the second stage, the values of geo-sites were evaluated using the Comanescu capability measurement method. Finally, the geo-tourism capabilities of this county were evaluated using the Fuzzy Network Analysis Model (FUZZY-ANP) and questioning managers and officials, as well as benefiting from They were zoned based on criteria such as height, slope, land use, distance from communication road, distance from county or village, distance from geo-site, distance from river, distance from cultural sites. The statistical population of the research included the managers and officials of Tarom County, and 15 people were determined as the sample size by using a non-random sampling method.ResultsThe research results showed that the geo-sites of Tarom County have high geo-tourism values. Meanwhile, the geo-site of the Valider-Shit River has the highest value, the geo-site of the Ghezel Ozan River ranks second, and the Nowkian River ranks third. The study of animal behavior, particularly in insects, is crucial for understanding their biological and evolutionary aspects, with wide-ranging applications in agricultural science, pest management, conservation biology, and neuroscience. Investigating cognitive characteristics, specifically aversive learning, plays a pivotal role in comprehending the success of insects. This adaptive ability enables animals to efficiently cope with the stressful factors in their environment. In this study, we investigated the aversive learning capabilities of Bombus terrestris Audax workers, crucial pollinators across diverse ecosystems. Bees were trained and tested in a flight arena using artificial flowers equipped with electric shocks to simulate conditions wherebees could associate punishment alongside food resources with available cues. The result suggested that bees possess the ability to simultaneously detect potential threats and food resources, indicating a dual aversive-appetitive memory. Furthermore, comparing groups trained with aversive (electric shock) and neutral (distilled water) stimuli showed that danger cues led to faster learning and stronger memory formation. This conditioning setup aimed to simulate real-life foraging situations, exploring bee responses when confronted with potential dangers. These findings provide insights into the survival strategies of insects in challenging environments that negatively impact bee populations.

This study proposes a general approach to protect graphs using co-secure domination within jump graphs. In the context of graphs, a dominating set is a group of vertices that are either directly linked or connected to all other vertices within the graph. The minimum cardinality of the dominating set in a graph G is called the domination number γ(G). A set S⊆V of a graph G is called a co-secure dominating set, if, for all u∈S, there exists a node v∈N(u) and in V∖S so that (S∖{u})∪{v} dominates the graph G. γcs(G), the co-secure domination number, is the cardinality of a co-secure dominating set with minimum vertices within the graph G. It is a notable protective strategy in which the nodes that are attacked or damaged in an interconnection network can be replaced with alternative nodes to ensure network security. In a jump graph J(G), the vertices are the edges of G and the adjacency of the vertices of J(G) are given by the condition that these edges are not adjacent in G. This paper explains how γ(G) and γcs(J(G)) are related for the jump graph of various graph classes. The study further determines the exact value for γcs(J(G)) of specific standard graphs. Additionally, the study characterizes γcs(J(G))=2 and a tight bond is identified for γcs(J(G)), particularly for G with specific conditions.

BACKGROUND: In women with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), emotional problems constitute most of their symptoms. This study aimed to identify the emotion schemes of women with PMDD and to determine the core emotional pains at the center of the emotion scheme of PMDD to facilitate the treatment of this disorder using an emotion-focused therapy (EFT) approach. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study was performed using the directed content analysis method by Hsieh and Shannon. The participants were selected by purposive sampling. The Premenstrual Symptoms Screening Tool (PSST) was used for the primary diagnosis of women, and the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5 (SCID-5) was conducted for the final diagnosis. A total of 10 participants were examined via in-depth interviews in this study. The emotion scheme matrix was used as a framework to identify the emotion scheme of PMDD. RESULTS: Based on the emotion scheme matrix, the participants’ experiences were classified into two main themes, four categories, and eight subcategories, with 37 extracted codes. CONCLUSION: Based on the present results, the primary and secondary emotions and behaviors in women with PMDD indicated perceptual-situational, bodily-expressive, motivational-behavioral, and symbolic-conceptual elements in line with the core emotional pains of desperation, despair, and feelings of worthlessness based on the primary maladaptive scheme of shame, which is responsible for different psychological symptoms.

Objective(s): Several lines of research have shown that hepatic fibrosis is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Trans-chalcone is a flavonoid precursor with anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. The present study was conducted to examine the antifibrotic properties of trans-chalcone on bile duct ligation (BDL)-induced liver cholestasis in rats. Materials and Methods: Following the BDL operation, trans-chalcone at doses of 12, 24, and 50 mg/kg was administered orally once a day for 45 consecutive days. Serum levels of liver indices, including alkaline phosphatase (ALP), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), total and direct bilirubin, and lipid profile in addition to blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine, were measured. Additionally, catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities were assessed in liver homogenates. Histopathological evaluations were performed using Masson trichrome (MT) and hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining. Results: The elevated levels of liver enzymes, total and direct bilirubin, BUN, creatinine, cholesterol, triglyceride, and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) induced by BDL were significantly reduced following trans-chalcone administration; while serum level of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) increased. Besides, treatment with trans-chalcone elevated the activities of CAT and SOD in the liver tissues of the animals with BDL surgery. According to MT and H&E staining, BDL-induced histopathological changes, including infiltration of inflammatory cells, hepatocyte necrosis, ductal hyperplasia, and collagen deposition were ameliorated using trans-chalcone administration. Conclusion: It can be concluded from the present study that trans-chalcone, possibly by its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, may exert hepatoprotective and antifibrotic effects in BDL-induced liver fibrosis. v

Abstract This study aimed to produce stable propolis nanoparticles with a size below 100 nm, suitable for various applications in industries such as pharmaceuticals, medicine, cosmetics, food, and packaging. To achieve this, propolis solid lipid nanoparticles (PSLNs) were synthesized using the hot homogenization method, and the optimized nanoparticles were analyzed using Design Expert software. The properties of the synthesized PSLN were characterized using UV–visible spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, PSA, TEM, and zeta potential analysis. The results indicated that PSLNs with a size range of 57 ± 15 nm remained stable in an aqueous medium at pH 7.4. HPLC analysis showed that the active ingredient of phenols and flavonoids in the extract remained stable after the formation of PSLNs. Antioxidant and antibacterial properties of the extract and nanoparticles were also evaluated. The results demonstrated that the biological properties of the extract were effectively preserved in PSLNs, Additionally, the PSLN synthesized exhibited remarkable anticancer properties against the A549 cell line and with IC50 of 0.01 mg/ml after 72 h-treatment. In conclusion, the optimized PSLNs can be utilized as antioxidant and antibacterial additives and have the potential to be used as a drug or drug carrier for the treatment of lung cancer.

In this study, the Cyclic Contraction-Expansion Extrusion (CCEE) process, a novel severe plastic deformation (SPD) technique, is applied to the AZ91 magnesium alloy to enhance its mechanical properties through microstructural refinement. The CCEE method combines cyclic expansion extrusion (CEE) and cyclic extrusion compression (CEC), integrating their advantages while overcoming drawbacks. The CCEE process is capable of inducing substantial plastic strain (3.38) within a single processing cycle, eliminating the need for secondary punches or a synchronized backpressure system. The process is conducted at a temperature of 300 °C, resulting in a bimodal microstructure through the dynamic recrystallization (DRX) mechanism. This microstructure consists of refined equiaxed α-Mg grains with an average size of 2.8 μm, surrounded by a network of newly nucleated α-Mg grains and Mg17Al12 particles with an average size of 500 nm in the two-pass processed sample. Results obtained from the tensile test technique indicate a significant enhancement in the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of the AZ91 alloy, increasing from 139 MPa to 276 MPa and 290 MPa, and a notable improvement in elongation, increasing from 4% to 8% and 12% after two passes of the CCEE process. Macro-texture X-Ray diffraction (XRD) measurements reveal the formation of a pyramidal deformation texture in the one-pass sample, contributing to the UTS improvement. This texture weakens during the second pass, leading to an increase in elongation. Furthermore, microhardness measurements show an increase from HV 62 to HV 85 after the first pass of the CCEE and HV 73 after the second pass.

Abstract Background General Emotion Dysregulation (GED) is increasingly implicated as an underlying factor in personality pathology; however, the regulation of specific emotions, such as shame, has been relatively overlooked in the literature. We aimed to identify distinct clusters of shame-coping/regulation and compare them regarding attachment insecurities, mentalizing deficits, and personality pathology, controlling for GED. Methods A convenience sample of 600 participants (351 females and 249 males) from the general population with ages ranging from 18 to 65 (M = 33.78, SD = 12.80) completed a battery of self-report instruments, measuring shame-coping styles, GED, attachment insecurities, mentalizing deficits, criteria A and B of the alternative model for personality disorders, and borderline personality traits. A two-stage clustering method was employed, with shame-coping styles as the clustering variables. The identified clusters were then compared for their effects on dependent variables using multivariate and univariate analyses. These comparisons were also performed after controlling for GED. Results Multiple determination methods suggested a two-cluster solution: maladaptive and adaptive shame-coping. Attack-self, withdrawal, and attack-other styles were the main discriminators. Compared with the adaptive cluster, the maladaptive cluster was characterized by higher use of maladaptive and lower use of adaptive shame-coping styles. Fungal infections are an evolving public health challenge due to their antimicrobial resistance and the growth of immunocompromised populations. Aquatic environments, the largest ecosystem on earth, are recently considered as a source for the production of bioactive compounds. Marine actinomycetes are considered for their potential to produce novel bioactive metabolites like antifungal compounds. In this study, strain ADR10 was obtained from the sediment sample of the Caspian Sea and its 16S rDNA gene sequence analysis suggested that the isolate belongs to Streptomyces albidoflavus. The preliminary cross-streak and double-layer agar screening revealed that the isolate has potent activity against pathogenic fungi, i.e. Aspergillus niger, Candida albicans, Fusarium oxysporum, and Penicillium crustosum. One-factor-at-a-time and Response surface methodology (RSM) was employed to evaluate the effects of six parameters (carbon source, initial pH, inoculation volume, NaCl concentration, nitrogen source, and temperature) on the production of antibiotics in the basal starch casein broth medium. The maximum antibiotic activity was achieved at the initial pH 7.05, sucrose 1.17 g l-1, malt 0.2 g l-1, temperature 30 ºC, inoculation size 5.0% v/v, and NaCl 1% w/v after 121.1 hours. Through the optimization experiments, antifungal activity was enhanced 2.7-fold. Ethyl acetate showed the highest antibiotic extraction capacity from the fermentation media compared with dichloromethane, hexane, and chloroform. The preliminary purified antibiotic by thin layer chromatography (ethyl acetate/ mobile petroleum phase) showed a more significant growth inhibition zone than nystatin (100 μg mL-1) against Candida albicans. This study underlines the potential of the marine actinomycete for the identification of novel antifungal agents.

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to analyze the moderating role of cognitive flexibility in the relationship between the characteristics of dynamic environments and future wars on the performance of operational commanders in the integrated command and control network of Aja air defense.Research method: The research method is mixed (quantitative and qualitative) and the qualitative statistical population includes 12 experts and the quantitative statistical population includes 234 people, and the Karjesi-Morgan table was used for sampling. The data collection tool was a questionnaire, and the statistical analysis software SPSS24, Amos26 was used to analyze the data.Findings: The model was prepared with 4 dimensions and 30 components. The findings of the statistical tests indicated a good fit of the model and showed that cognitive flexibility positively moderates the relationship between the characteristics of the dynamic environment and future wars on commanders' performance.Conclusion: The results of the present study also showed that the severity of the impact of cognitive flexibility was 0.79, the characteristics of future wars was 0.612, and mission dynamics was 0.587 on performance, and a total of 0.77% of the variance of commanders' performance was explained in the model.

Research has demonstrated the potential efficacy of intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy (ISTDP) in addressing medically unexplained symptoms (MUS). However, the specific application of ISTDP for tension-type headache (TTH), a prevalent and common MUS, has not been extensively studied. In light of this gap in the literature, the current study investigated the effectiveness of intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy (ISTDP) in treating TTH. The study assessed ISTDP's impact on emotion regulation (ER) capacities, levels of anxiety and anger, and TTH symptoms. 30 patients from the neurology clinic at Hazrat Rasool Hospital in Tehran were randomly assigned to either the intervention (n = 15) or control (n = 15) group. Pre- and post-treatment evaluations were conducted, followed by a ten-week follow-up assessment. Data were analyzed using repeated measures analyses of variance. Purpose – The purpose of this research is to analyze the challenges and opportunities of Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) based independent learning curriculum in the scope of PAI. Method – The method in this study employs a qualitative research type with a library research approach. For data analysis, the author uses the guidelines from Miles and Huberman, which include data collection, data reduction, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data is checked using the content check point technique, a method used to verify the accuracy of each piece of information that forms the basis for drawing conclusions. Findings – The results of this study indicate that there are opportunities that can be found in the scope of PAI, including increasing curriculum relevance, the development of clear learning outcomes, emphasizing practical skills, competency-based evaluation, collaborative program development, project-based improvement, using technology in learning, self-evaluation and continuous improvement, integrating soft skills, and improving the quality of graduates. In addition, there are several challenges associated with the implementation of OBE at the tertiary level, including difficulties in finding measurable learning outcomes, paradigm shifts, adjustments to institutional culture, limited resources, difficulties in measuring spiritual and moral competencies, integration with Islamic educational traditions, challenges in developing assessment instruments, difficulties in developing effective learning plans, students' understanding of new approaches, and dealing with student diversity. Research Implications – This research implies that the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in Islamic Religious Education in higher education brings several opportunities that can increase the effectiveness and relevance of Islamic Religious Education.
