The Bosphorus mansions were mostly used as the summer residences of sultans during the Ottoman Empire. Therefore, no warming was required. Each mansion had their own land, starting from the sea and rising up the hill. Thanks to the grove and plan type of the mansions, there was no ventilation and cooling problem.However, today the mansions have started to be used in four seasons. Due to the developing technology, comfort and air conditioning problems arise due to the fact that the needs are at the maximum level and that the mansions do not have the groves and lands anymore. In this study, the effects of the air conditioning systems of the Şerifler Mansion, which has been restored in 1970, on the interior will be investigated. At the same time the view of the relevant institutions on the mechanical project of the Şerifler mansion will be evaluated and the physical benefits of renovation projects will be investigated. The Şerifler mansion is a 1st degree registered building and is located in Sarıyer, Emirgan. It is also one of the most beautiful mansions the Bosphorus has. Today, it is used by the Association of Historical Cities and ÇEKUL Foundation., Yalılar, Osmanlı’da daha çok sultanların yazlık konutları olarak kullanılmıştır. O nedenle ısınmaya ihtiyaç duyulmamış, denizden başlayıp tepeye kadar yükselen arazilerinde, kendi korusu içinde karnıyarık plan tipi ve sofası sayesinde havalandırma ve soğutma sorunu da yaşanmamıştır. Ancak günümüzde dört mevsim kullanılmaya başlanması, gelişen teknoloji nedeniyle ihtiyaçların maksimumda artması ve artık kendi koru ve arazilerine sahip olmamaları gibi nedenlerle konfor ve iklimlendirme problemleri ile karşı karşıya kalınmaktadır.Bu çalışmada, Boğaziçi’nin eşsiz yalılarından biri olan, Sarıyer Emirgan’da günümüzde Tarihi Kentler Birliği ve ÇEKUL Vakfı tarafından kullanılan 1. Derece tescilli Şerifler Yalısı’nın 1970 yılı restorasyonunda iç mekânda uygulanan iklimlendirme sistemlerinin yapıya aplikasyonu ile iç mekân tasarımı ve kullanımı açısından değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır. Bununla birlikte, yapılmış olan iklimlendirme ve mekanik projelerine ilgili kurumların bakışı değerlendirilerek yenileme projelerinde sağladığı fiziksel faydalar araştırılmıştır.

Geçmişimizden bize emanet edilen, günümüzde ise gelecek kuşaklarımıza bırakma borcumuz olan mimari eserleriaraştırmak, onları yaşatmak hepimizin görevidir. Restorasyon konusunda çeşitli örnek mimari yapıları bulunanTaraklı geçmişten günümüze kadar gelen, Osmanlı mimarisine ait örnekleriyle kültürel mirasımızın var olduğuönemli bir yerleşim birimidir. Taraklı’nın sahip olduğu anıtsal ve sivil yapıların etkin bir restorasyonu için fizikselyapısı, tarihsel mimari değerleri ve çevresiyle ile birlikte ele alınıp incelenmiştir. Ali Pektaş Evi’nin rölöve analizçalışmaları yapılarak restitüsyon önerisi doğrultusunda restorasyon çalışmaları proje ve resimlerle desteklenmiş,uygulama aşamasında uygulanan tekniklerle birlikte yapının özgünlüğü bozulmadan gerekli denetim altındakontrolleri yapılarak çalışmalar tamamlanmıştır., It is our duty of all of us to investigate and keep alive the architectural works that have been entrusted to us in ourpast and which we owe to our future generations. Taraklı, which has various examples of architecturalconstructions regarding restoration, is an important settlement unit where the cultural heritage is present withexamples belonging to Ottoman architecture coming from the past to the present day. The physical structure ofTaraklı for the effective restoration of monumental and civil structures is studied and studied together with itshistorical architectural values and surroundings. Ülkemizin 20.yy başlarından itibaren mimarisinde çeşitli değişimler yaşanmıştır. 19.yy sonlarında dünyada betonarmedeki buluşlar, bu değişimlerde etkin rol oynamıştır. Osmanlı Devleti’nde ilk olarak 1800’lerin sonunda liman yapılarında kullanımı öngörülen beton 1900 başları itibarıyla sivil mimaride de kullanılmaya başlanmıştır. Betonun, bu dönemin ünlü mimarları tarafından kagir yapılardan esinlenilerek tercih edildiğini söylemek mümkündür. Ahşap yapıların dünyanın farklı ülkelerinde hem kırsalda hem kent merkezlerinde tercih edildiği görülmektedir. Kuzey Amerika’da yapılar 6 kata kadar geleneksel yöntemlerle ahşap strüktürlü inşa edilebilmektedir. Bunu ülkemiz için de düşündüğümüzde 3 büyük kentlerimiz olmak üzere diğer birçok kentimizdeki mevcut apartman yapılarının geleneksel yöntemlerle ve birtakım eklemelerle dönüştürülebilir olduğu ortaya çıkmaktadır. Az katlı yapılarda ise ahşap yapı zaten betonarme yapıya göre daha ideal bir çözümdür. Özetle ülkemizde 100 yıla yakındır betonarme odaklı mimari ve kent politikaları beton yığılmalarına neden olmuş ve geleneksel mimariden uzaklaştırmıştır. Bu durum, ülkemizin ve sosyal hayatımızın her alanında etkilerini göstermektedir. Betonarmenin getirdiği tek tip mimari ülkemiz için sürdürülebilir olmaktan çıkmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında betonarme ve ahşap yapıların, çevresel etkileri incelenmiş olup betonarme yapıların çevre ve kent politikaları açısından olumsuzluklar içerdiği ifade edilmiştir. Ülkemizde son derece yaygın olan betonarme yapım tekniğine alternatif olarak ahşap yapı önerisi ABD’deki örnekler ile sunulmuştur. Betonarme yapım tekniği temelli olan kent politikalarının sürdürülemez olduğu istatistikler kullanılarak ifade edilmiştir., There have been changes in the architecture of our country since the beginning of the 20th century. At the end of the 19th century, inventions in reinforced concrete played an active role in these changes. Reinforced concrete, which was first intended to be used in harbor structures in the late 1800s in the Ottoman Empire, started to be used in civil architecture in the early 1900s. It is possible to say that reinforced concrete was preferred by the famous architects of this period, carrying a breeze from masonry structures. It is seen that wooden structures are preferred both in curtain and city centers in different countries of the world. In North America, sites can be built with wooden structures up to 6 floors using traditional methods. Considering this for our country, it is revealed that apartment-style buildings in many other cities, including our 3 metropolitan cities, can be transformed with traditional ones, perhaps with some additions. In low-rise buildings, wooden construction is already an ideal solution compared to reinforced concrete. In summary, the architectural and urban policies focused on reinforced concrete in our country for almost 100 years have caused urban agglomeration and moved it away in the afternoon. This situation is in its own sphere of our country and our personal lives. The uniform architecture and lifestyle brought by reinforced concrete has emerged for our country. Within the scope of the study, the environmental effects of reinforced concrete and wooden structures were examined and it was understood that reinforced concrete structures were an unsustainable building system in terms of environmental and urban policies. As an alternative to the reinforced concrete construction technique, which is very common in our country, the wooden construction proposal is presented with examples in the USA. Using statistics, it is expressed that urban policies based on reinforced concrete construction technique are unsustainable.

Tarihte Sümer, Hitit, Yunan ve Roma gibi pek çok medeniyetin tesiri altında kalmış olan Anadolu coğrafyası 11.y.y la birlikte Asya'dan gelen Türk kavimlerin göçü, ile karşılaşmıştır. 7.yy da doğan İslam inancı çoğunluğu Müslümanlığı kabul etmiş olan Türklerin Anadolu'ya gelişi ile Anadolu coğrafyasında hızlıca yayılmıştır. Bu yayılmanın tesirleri kültürden, günlük yaşama ve mimarlığa değin pek çok noktada hissedilmiştir. Anadolu'da bu dönemde İslam inancının getirdiği cami yapılarının inşa edilmesine başlanmıştır. Selçuklu Devleti ve Beylikler Dönemi'nde başlayan Osmanlı Dönemi'nde de devam eden cami mimarisi incelendiğinde, sistemi oluşturan taşıyıcı elemanlarda ve yardımcı yapı elemanlarında ahşap kullanımı dikkati çekmektedir. Geleneksel Anadolu cami mimarisinde ahşabın yapısal kullanımı; başlangıcından 20. Y.Y başlarına kadar Anadolu'nun çeşitli bölgelerinde sürmüştür. Bu bağlamda bu çalışmada geleneksel Anadolu cami mimarisinde ahşabın yapısal kullanımının araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında; Selçuklu ve Beylikler Dönemi'nin öncü yapıları ile büyük bir çoğunluğu Karadeniz Bölgesi'nde bulunan Osmanlı Dönemi yapılarından ulaşılabilen örnekler ele alınmıştır. The Anatolian geography, which had been under the influence of many civilizations such as Sumer, Hittite, Greek and Roman in history, faced with the migration of Turkish tribes coming from Asia start with the 11th century. When we focus the mosque architecture which is start with Seljuk State and then continuing with the Ottoman Empire period, is examined, the using of wood in the auxiliary building elements that construction system. Structural usage of wood continue in traditional Anatolian mosque architecture; From starting to the beginning of the 20th century AD. In this context, in this study, it is aimed to investigate the structural use of wood in traditional Anatolian mosque architecture. Scope of work; The pioneer structures of the Seljuk and Beylik Periods and a great majority of the examples that can be reached from the Ottoman Period constructions in the Black Sea Region were discussed. Tez (Yüksek Lisans) -- İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2013, Thesis (M.Sc.) -- İstanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, 2013, Bu çalışmada, deprem yükleri etkisindeki Osmanlı mimarisine sahip büyük ölçekli ahşap yalıların Sait Halim Paşa Yalısı örnek alınarak yapısal analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Analizler; DBYBHY 2007 esas alınarak Mod Birleştirme Yöntemi’ne göre 3 boyutlu, Eşdeğer Deprem Yükü Yöntemi’ne göre 2 boyutlu ve UBC 97 uyarınca Eşdeğer Deprem Yükü Yöntemi’ne göre 2 boyutlu modeller oluşturularak 3 farklı yöntemle yapılmıştır. En elverişsiz sonuç 2 boyutlu analizlerde oluştuğu görülmüştür. Analiz sonucu ahşap taşıyıcı elemanlarda oluşan gerilme kontrolleri TS 647 ve National Design Spesification (NDS) standartlarına göre kontrol yapılmıştır. Her iki standarda göre de ahşap elemanlardaki gerilmelerin statik olarak yeterli olduğu gösterilmiştir. Analiz sonucu oluşan en elverişsiz duruma göre mevcut çivili birleşimler NDS standardına göre kontrol edilmiş ve statik açıdan yetersiz olduğu sonucuna varılmışır. Aynı standart kullanılarak yetersiz bulunan bağlantılara bulon ve dairesel çelik kayma kaması birleşim elemanları ile iki farklı güçlendirme metodu uygulanmış ve sonuçlar karşılaştırılmıştır. Hesaplar sonucunda dairesel çelik kayma kamalı birleşimin, bulonlu birleşime göre daha fazla kuvvet aktarabildiği sonucuna varılmıştır., In this study using the the seismic behavior of large scale mansions of traditional Ottoman architecture was investigated. The lateral forces that are applied to the structure are the seismic forces. Both the Linear-Dynamic, Modal Superposition Method (Response Spectrum Method) and the Linear-Static, Equivalent Static Force Method were used based on the Turkish Seismic Code 2007. In addition, Equivalent Static Force Method from the UBC 97 standard was also investigated in the seismic analysis. The resulting internal stresses on the members were compared to the allowable values in TS 647 and National Design Spesification (NDS). These stresses were not exceed in allowable values in these standarts. Existing connections with nails were checked in NDS based on most critical analysis result. These connections were statically insufficient and needed strengthening. Different two types connection elements were used for strengthening which are bolt and shear plate. These elements were compared as efficiency and showed that connections with shear plate were more effective than bolted connections., Yüksek Lisans, M.Sc.

Bu çalışmada, ahşap yapı restorasyonu uygulamalarında mevcut olan sorunlarının belirlenerek bu sorunların çözümüne yönelik önerilerinin geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaca uygun olarak geliştirilen kapsamlı bir anket yardımı ile Türkiye’nin farklı illerinde ahşap yapı ve yapı elemanları restorasyonu alanında faaliyet gösteren 47 adet işletmenin uygulamada karşılaştıkları sorunlar belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, küçük ölçekli işletmenin %80’i, orta ölçekli işletmenin %78’i ve büyük ölçekli işletmenin %89’u kültür varlıklarına ilgi duydukları için restorasyon alanında faaliyet göstermekte olduklarını bildirmişlerdir. İşletmelerin %63’ü restorasyon işlerinin niteliğine uygun personel bulamada zorluk yaşamakta olup, en yüksek düzeyde (%51) oyma, kakma, kündekari bilgi ve becerisine sahip kalifiye iş gücüne ihtiyaç duymaktadırlar. İşletmelerin %55’i restorasyonda kullanılan istenilen boyut, tür ve rutubette ahşap malzeme temininde zorluk yaşamaktadır. Ahşap yapıların/eserlerin %40’ında çürüme, %55’inde çatlama, %30’unda renk değişimi, %36’sınde boyutsal değişim, %30’unda çarpılma ve %47’sinde ise koruyucu katman deformasyonu meydana geldiği belirlenmiştir. Ankete katılan işletmelerin vermiş olduğu bilgilere göre, tarihi yapıya/esere kullanıcısı tarafından bilinçsiz uygulanan koruma yöntemlerinin oranı %92 olup, bu uygulamalarının %21’i telafisi mümkün olmayan, %43’ü telafisi mümkün ama önemli maddi kayıplara yol açan, %13’ü ise yapının/eserin korunmasına bir süre yardımcı olabilecek niteliktedir. Restorasyon uygulamalarının %61,7’sinde öngörülemeyen sorunlar ile karşılaşıldığı tespit edilmiştir.

Taraklı geçmişten günümüze kadar gelen, Osmanlı mimarisine ait örnekleriyle kültürel mirasımızın var olduğu önemli bir yerleşim birimidir. Taraklı'nın sahip olduğu anıtsal ve sivil yapıların etkin bir restorasyonu için fiziksel yapısı, tarihsel mimari değerleri ve çevresiyle ile birlikte ele alınıp incelenmektedir.Bu tez çalışmasında tarihsel gelişim süreci içerisinde eserlerin yapımında kullanılan malzemeler temin edilerek inşa edildiği ve değişim koşullarının bu eserlere tesiri ilke olarak belirlenmiştir. Sivil yapıların kişisel amaçlara uygun mimari yerleşimi, iç mekân düzenleri, yapım sistemleri, çatılarının özellikleri, kat sayıları ile çevreye uyumu özgün niteliktedir. Anıtsal yapılar ise toplumsal nitelikli büyük eserler olup bu yapılarda toplumun tarihi öyküsü vardır.Çalışma konusu seçilen Halim Düzgün Evi'nin rölöve ve restorasyon projeleri hazırlanıp özgün dokusu bozulmadan gerekli koruma müdahaleleri doğrultusunda ele alınıp incelenmiştir. Fakat bu yapı tez çalışma döneminde uygulama aşamasına geçmediği için çalışmada örnek uygulama olarak Ali Pektaş Evi gösterilmiştir.Ali Pektaş Evi'nin restorasyon çalışmaları, proje ve resimlerle desteklenmiş analiz çalışmaları yapılarak uygulama aşamasında uygulanan tekniklerle birlikte yapının özgünlüğü bozulmadan gerekli denetim altında kontrolleri yapılarak çalışmalar tamamlanmıştır. Ayrıca Ali Pektaş Evi'nin mimari, yapısal ve strüktürel analizi yapılarak doğal yöresel malzemelerin kullanılması, onarım tekniklerinin de bu ilkeler ışığında ele alınması maliyetin düşmesini ortaya çıkarmıştır. Yapılacakgüçlendirmelerde Betonarme yapıların onarım ve güçlendirmesinde yaygın olarakkullanılan fiber takviyeli plastikler (FRP) kullanılarak yüksek dayanıma sahip,korozyona uğramayan, hafif, uygulanması kolay, ahşap görünümü bozmayacak birgüçlendirme yapılması mümkündür.Bu çalışmada; ahşap yapı konstrüksiyon sisteminde, çekmeye çalışan yapıelemanlarının lif sürekliliğinin sağlanması hedeflenmektedir. Bu amaçla, fiberlerlegüçlendirilmiş kavelalı ve kavelasız kertmeli boy birleştirmelerin, birleşimbölgelerinin mekanik performansları incelenmiştir.Deney numuneleri yapı sektöründe bol miktarda bulunan ve ahşap yapıuygulamalarında kullanılan sarıçamdan hazırlanmıştır. Yapılan deney numunelerininperformans değerlendirilmelerinin yapılabilmesi için şahit numunelerle birlikte,yapıştırmalı birleştirme, kavelalı birleştirme, CTP'li birleştirme, kavela + CTP'libirleştirme şeklinde, 10 farklı tipte 5 er adet deney numuneleri hazırlanmış ve çekmedeneyine tabi tutulmuştur. Numunelerin hazırlanmasında Teknobont 200 epoksisikullanılmıştır.Çalışmanın sonucunda çekme mukavemeti, kavelalı kertmeli boy birleştirmede camfiberlerle güçlendirilmiş numunelerle, yapıştırılmış birleştirme numunelerinden %200 daha yüksek çekme dayanımına ulaşılmıştır. Uygulanan güçlendirme tekniğisonucunda elde edilen en yüksek çekme mukavemeti tek parçadan oluşan masifahşabın (şahit numunenin) çekme direncinin %70 ine kadar ulaşılmıştır. Inorder to obtain both durability and originality of the timber structures it is necessaryto strengthen them especially in the connecting places. The main purposes of thestrengthing in the connecting places are to decrease the tension stress, to eliminatefiber transitoriness and to remove shear surfaces.In recently, it has been increased the strengthing for timber buildings like reinforcedconcrete buildings by using Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP). Because FRP has highstrength, light weight corrosion resistance and is also very easy to apply to thestructures.In this study it has been aimed to gain the fiber continuity of timber constrictionssystems. In this reason, it has been investigated mechanical performances of theconnecting places built both with wooden nail and without wooden-nail. Experimentshave been done in the laboratory to investigate the mechanical performance of theconnecting places. The specimen used for experiments have been chosen fromyellow pine timber, which is very abundant in the building sector.In order to investigate performances of the specimen used in the experiments, somepre-experiments have been done before the main experiments. 5 specimens in 10different types have been prepared and tested subjected tensile strength.Epoxy Teknobont 200 has been used for preparing the specimen. The out comesdemonstrate that the tensile strength of the specimen, which was connected withwooden nail, has higher than stickle specimen and this ratio is about 200 %. Inaddition the tensile strength ratio have reached 70 % of the to pre-experimentspecimen tensile strength. 114

Günümüz yapı sektöründe ahsap, önemli bir mühendislik malzemesi haline gelmekte ve ahsap yapıların üretilme yogunlukları gelismis batılı ülkelerde gittikçe artmaktadır. Teknolojik gelismeler ile ahsap yapı malzemelerinin karekteristik sorunlarına ve genel anlamda ahsap yapıların sorunlarına çözümler getirilerek zengin tasarım imkanlarıyla beraber ahsap konut üretimi yapılabilmektedir. Kaynagı yenilenebilen bir malzeme olarak ahsabın bilinçli kullanımı ve ormanların gençlestirilmesi, Dünya'da yasanmakta olan çevre ve enerji sorunlarının çözümüne katkıda bulunmakta ayrıca, dogal dengelerin korunmasını da saglamaktadır. Türkiye'deki genel insaat çevresine farklı bir bakıs açısı ve kaynak olusturması amaçlanan bu çalısmada, ahsap yapı malzemelerinin genel özellikleri, Almanya'da ahsap konut üretiminin durumu ve ahsap konut üretim sistemleri üzerinde durulmaktadır. Giris bölümünde, konuya hazırlayıcı bilgiler verilerek çalısmanın amacı, önemi, kapsamı ve faydalanılan kaynaklar açıklanmaktadır. kinci bölümde, ahsap yapı malzemelerinin genel özellikleri açıklanarak ahsap malzemelerin yapıdaki davranısları, karekteristiginden kaynaklanan sorunların nasıl giderilmesi gerektigine ve ahsap konut üretiminin önemine deginilmektedir. Üçüncü bölümde, ahsap sektörünün gelisimi, Almanya'daki orman varlıgı ve tüketilmesi, Almanya'da ahsap yapı ve konut üretiminin mevcut durumu anlatılmaktadır. Dördüncü bölümde ise, günümüzde ahsap konut üretiminde kullanılan ana sistemler sekillerle açıklanarak bu sistemlerin faydaları ve sorunları üzerinde durulmaktadır. Sonuç bölümünde ise, anlatılan bilgiler ısıgında bir degerlendirme yapılarak ahsap yapı malzemeleri kullanımının ve ahsap konut üretiminin önemi ve de dikkat edilmesi gereken noktalar açıklandıktan sonra Türkiye açısından önemine deginilmektedir., Today, timber in building sector is becoming as an important engineering material and the production intensity of timber buildings in the developed countries is increasing. The production of timber housing can be done by means of technological developments together with advanced design facilities by introducing solutions to the problems of timber buildings in general and specifically. The rational usage of timber, as a material whose sources can be renewed, and the renewing of forests contribute the solutions of environment and energy problems observed in the world, and also ensure the preserve the natural balances. This study, which aims to form a different approach to the general building sector of Turkey and source, comprises the general characteristics of timber building materials, the conditions of the timber housing production in Germany, and also the production systems of timber housing. In the introduction chapter, the aim of the study, its importance, boundaries and its sources utilised are explained by giving some preparing information. The second chapter deals with the general characteristics of timber building materials, their performances in buildings, the problems resulting from its character and their solutions, and the importance oh timber housing production. The third chapter introduces the development of timber building sector, the existence and consumption of forest in Germany, and also the timber building and present situation of housing production in Germany. The fourth chapter, which is the main section of the study, explains the main building systems used in the present timber housing production, their advantages and disadvantages by using several detailed pictures or drawings. The final chapter concludes the study by evaluating the information given beforehand. In this section the importance of usage of timber building materials and timber housing production, and also some important points in terms of Turkey have been dealt with.

Öneri, yapıların sağlamlaştırılmasının yanı sıra, niteliksiz eklerin ve malzemenin temizlenmesi, yok olmuş mimari elemanların tamamlanması ve yapıya uygun yeni bir işlevin getirilmesi maddelerini de içermektedir. Çalışmanın son aşaması olan restorasyon önerisine ulaşana kadar yerleşmenin mimari dokusunu oluşturan yapılar ve işlevleri incelenmiş, ahşap ve kerpiç yapıların yoğunlukta olduğu yerleşmede mekansal kurguların gelişiminde halkın geçim kaynağı olan zeytincilik ve ipekböcekçiliğinin etkileri saptanmıştır. Bu bağlamda Umurbey Beldesi çevresindeki yerleşmeler, benzerlik ve farklılıkları gözlemleyerek karşılaştırma yapmak amacıyla incelenmiş ve sonuçları restitüsyon ve restorasyon çalışmalarına yansıtılmıştır. Çalışma konusu olan Çırganlar Evi nin yerleşmenin en eski ve özellikli yapılarından biri olduğu görülmüş, korunması ve belgelenerek gelecek nesillere aktarılması gerektiğine karar verilmiştir., In this study, a restoration project is suggested for the Çırganlar House which is made of timber frame, and located in the town of Umurbey. The content of the project is improving the structural condition of the house, taking out the supplementary pieces, cleaning the materials, reconstructing the lost parts and suggesting a new function for the Çırganlar House. In the first stage of the study, the useful data is obtained by researching traditional civil architecture in town and nearby towns. It is seen that working with olive, olive oil and silkworm has effects in the development of physical and social environment. The results of this study is used in restitution and restoration projects. The Çırganlar House is one of the oldest and the most important houses of the town of Umurbey.
