Resumen Introducción: En 2020, la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) declaró la emergencia de salud pública por SARS-CoV-21; el 11 de marzo de 2020 se notificó la pandemia global por COVID-19 y el gobierno colombiano decretó para todas las ciudades el aislamiento preventivo obligatorio2. Para el mes de mayo, Cali reportó 1635 casos de COVID confirmados y 85 fallecidos por un virus con un 4,95% de letalidad3. Lo anterior influenció de forma importante las rutinas alimentarias de las familias durante el primer trimestre del periodo de confinamiento. Considerando que esta situación era atípica en el país, era necesario describir la percepción del comportamiento alimentario durante este primer trimestre de aislamiento preventivo obligatorio en la ciudad de Cali, considerando las normas de bioseguridad establecidas para el periodo mencionado. Objetivo: Describir el comportamiento alimentario de 1814 familias en Cali durante el primer trimestre de aislamiento preventivo obligatorio. Metodología: Estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo transversal, con técnica de encuesta. Se aplicó un instrumento virtual compuesto por 28 ítems, que indagó el comportamiento alimentario de las familias. Discusión: Se encontró que el 95,1% de los hogares percibió escasez y aumento de precios en alimentos que componen la canasta alimentaria familiar, y el 67,2% de las familias estuvieron preocupadas por la alimentación. Hubo un aumento en el consumo de alimentos y se modificó el número de tiempos de comida/día. Los hábitos alimentarios, ingesta de refrescos y consumo de alcohol también se modificaron durante confinamiento. Conclusiones: Se puede afirmar que durante el primer trimestre de cuarentena por COVID-19 en Cali se modificó el comportamiento alimentario de las familias encuestadas, una de las razones estuvo relacionada con un cambio en los ingresos económicos, que afectó la cantidad de dinero disponible para alimentos. Durante este periodo se modificaron también los tiempos de comida y la variedad en la ingesta de alimentos. En general, se describieron aspectos que afectaron la seguridad alimentaria de las familias. Abstract Introduction: In 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a public health emergency due to SARS-CoV-21. On March 11, 2020, the global pandemic due to COVID-19 was declared, with which the Colombian government decreed mandatory preventive isolation in the country2. In May, Cali reported 1,635 confirmed COVID cases and 85 deaths from a virus with a 4.95 % case fatality rate3. This situation affected families eating routines during this period. Considering that this situation was atypical in the country, it was necessary to describe the perception of feeding behavior during this first trimester of mandatory preventive isolation in the city of Cali, considering the biosafety standards established by the national government. Objetive: To describe the feeding behavior of 1,814 families in Cali during the first trimester of mandatory preventive isolation. Methodology: Cross-sectional, descriptive and quantitative study. A virtual instrument composed of 28 items was applied, which investigated the feeding behavior of the families. Convenience sampling. Results: The results show that the economic income of families, as well as the distribution of expenses within the home, were affected in the evaluated period. In addition, it was found that 95.1 % of households perceived shortages and price increases in foods that make up the family food basket; 67.2% of families were concerned about food. There was an increase in food consumption and the number of perhaps consider, meals per day was modified. Eating habits, soft drink intake and alcohol consumption also changed during confinement in the evaluated time. Conclusions: It can be affirmed families modified their feeding behaviors during the first quarter of quarantine due to COVID-19. Because the economic income of families was affected, the money available for food purchases was affected as well. During this time, perhaps consider: meal frequencies and, in general, the variety in food intake was also modified. Finally, the results suggest perhaps consider: a negative effect in the food security of families.

Resumen El objetivo del trabajo fue determinar la incidencia de la profundidad de muestreo sobre el contenido de carbono y nitrógeno en suelos del municipio de Zona Bananera del departamento del Magdalena (Colombia). BackgroundInformation on tuberculosis (TB) and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is still limited. The aim of this study was to describe the features of the TB/COVID-19 co-infected individuals from a prospective, anonymised, multicountry register-based cohort with special focus on the determinants of mortality and other outcomes.MethodsWe enrolled all patients of any age with either active TB or previous TB and COVID-19. 172 centres from 34 countries provided individual data on 767 TB-COVID-19 co-infected patients, (>50% population-based).ResultsOf 767 patients, 553 (74.0%) out of 747 had TB before COVID-19 (including 234 out of 747 with previous TB), 71 (9.5%) out of 747 had COVID-19 first and 123 (16.5%) out of 747 had both diseases diagnosed within the same week (n=35 (4.6%) on the same day). 85 (11.08%) out of 767 patients died (41 (14.2%) out of 289 in Europe and 44 (9.2%) out of 478 outside Europe; p=0.03): 42 (49.4%) from COVID-19, 31 (36.5%) from COVID-19 and TB, one (1.2%) from TB and 11 from other causes. In the univariate analysis on mortality the following variables reached statistical significance: age, male gender, having more than one comorbidity, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease, chronic renal disease, presence of key symptoms, invasive ventilation and hospitalisation due to COVID-19. The final multivariable logistic regression model included age, male gender and invasive ventilation as independent contributors to mortality.ConclusionThe data suggest that TB and COVID-19 are a “cursed duet” and need immediate attention. TB should be considered a risk factor for severe COVID disease and patients with TB should be prioritised for COVID-19 preventative efforts, including vaccination.

Acceso Abierto El Mercado Amazonas se encuentra ubicado en la ciudad de Ibarra, provincia de Imbabura, es el lugar m?s representativo del comercio de la ciudad, se desarrollan varias actividades econ?micas de comercializaci?n de productos que demanda tener un capital de trabajo para poner en marcha los negocios; este tipo de vendedores han sido atendidos en su mayor?a por el cr?dito informal. La investigaci?n propone un producto crediticio a trav?s del Banco VisionFund Ecuador, que genere fondos para que el comerciante pueda incrementar la oferta de productos en su negocio; que minimice los riesgos que representan el cr?dito informal y apoyando a mejorar del giro del negocio, de manera que la metodolog?a solidaria de grupos, garantice entre ellos las operaciones. Se aplicaron herramientas como las encuestas que se ejecutaron en los puestos de trabajo de los vendedores para identificar la necesidad desde este grupo productivo, los resultados obtenidos determinaron: la problem?tica de los vendedores de la falta del capital de trabajo frente a su giro del negocio en el Mercado Amazonas, la informalidad en la obtenci?n de cr?ditos, la falta de educaci?n financiera para acceder a entidades que se encuentran bajo el control de la Superintendencia de Bancos en el Ecuador y la facilidad endeudarse y sobre endeudarse con altas tasas de inter?s a pagar. La Propuesta del producto de Microcr?dito y Ahorro Comunal se desarrolla en varias etapas que contemplan el proceso de implementaci?n y aprobaci?n por el Banco y la oferta del producto a los Vendedores del Mercado Amazonas considerando: la investigaci?n del mercado, la promoci?n del producto, la organizaci?n de los grupos comunales, la capacitaci?n y la aprobaci?n hasta el desembolso del cr?dito, el producto que establece ciclos claramente definidos para atenci?n a los clientes que se encuentren inmersos en actividades comerciales. La metodolog?a para ofertar el producto Microcr?dito queda abierta para la atenci?n a otros nichos de mercado asociados que oferta el Banco VisionFund Ecuador, contribuyendo a la inclusi?n financiera y mejora de la calidad de vida de este sector comercial.

RESUMEN El presente estudio analiza las propiedades psicométricas propuestas por Balaguer, Castillo, Duda y Tomás (2009) para la versión en español del Cuestionario de Clima en el Deporte (S-SCQ) en hombres y mujeres deportistas universitarios. La muestra total fue de 432 universitarios deportistas de Chihuahua, México, 169 mujeres y 263 hombres, con edades comprendidas entre 18-26 años (M = 20.40; DE = 1.89). La estructura factorial del cuestionario se analizó mediante análisis factoriales confirmatorios. Los análisis, muestran que una estructura unifactorial es viable y adecuada tanto para la muestra total como para las poblaciones de hombres y mujeres. La estructura de un solo factor, atendiendo a criterios estadísticos y sustantivos, ha mostrado adecuados indicadores de ajuste de fiabilidad y validez. Además, la estructura factorial, las cargas factoriales y los interceptos se consideran invariantes de acuerdo al género; sin embargo, se encontraron diferencias a favor de los hombres deportistas en cuanto a su percepción sobre el apoyo a su autonomía por parte de su entrenador o entrenadora. ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to analyze the psychometric properties proposed by Balaguer et al. (2009) for the spanish version of Sport Climate Questionnaire (S-SCQ) in university athletes mens and women. The total sample has been composed by 432 university athletes, 169 women and 263 mens from Chihuahua, Mexico, with ages from 18-26 years (M = 20.40, SD = 1.89). The factor structure of questionnaire has been analized through the confirmatory factor analysis. This analysis shows that a one factorial structure is viable and adequate for the total sample and the populations of mens and woman. The one factor structure, according to statistical and substantive criteria, has shown adequate indicators of reliability and validity adjustment. On the other hand, the factorial structure, the factorial loads and the intercepts are considered invariant according to the variable gender; however, differences were found in favor of male athletes in terms of their perception of support for their autonomy on the part of their coaches. RESUMO O presente estudo analisa as propiedades psicométricas propostas por Balaguer et al. (2009) para a versão espanhola do Sports Climate Questionnaire (S-SCQ). Amostra total foi de 432 universitários atletas de Chihuahua, México, 169 mulheres e 263 homens com idades entre 18-26 anos (M = 20.40; DE = 1.89). A estrutura fatorial foi analisado com anàlises fatorial confirmatòrias. Os analises mostran que uma estrutura unifatorial e factível e adequado para a mostra total e para ambas as populações, homens e mulheres. A estrutura unifatorial, em resposta a criterios estatísticos e materiais tem mostrado indicadores de ajuste adequados de confiabilidade e validade. Além disso a estrutura de fatores, cargas fatoriais e intercepto são considerados invariantes de acordó com o gênero; porém, se encontraram diferenças no grupo de homens atletas em seu percepção de apoiar a seu aotonomia respeito a seu treinador.

Background: Choline status has been associated with stunting among young children. Findings from this study showed that an egg intervention improved linear growth by a length-for-age z score of 0.63. Objective: We aimed to test the efficacy of eggs introduced early in complementary feeding on plasma concentrations of biomarkers in choline pathways, vitamins B-12 and A, and essential fatty acids. Design: A randomized controlled trial, the Lulun (“egg” in Kichwa) Project, was conducted in a rural indigenous population of Ecuador. Infants aged 6–9 mo were randomly assigned to treatment (1 egg/d for 6 mo; n = 80) and control (no intervention; n = 83) groups. Socioeconomic data, anthropometric measures, and blood samples were collected at baseline and endline. Household visits were made weekly for morbidity surveillance. We tested vitamin B-12 plasma concentrations by using chemiluminescent competitive immunoassay and plasma concentrations of choline, betaine, dimethylglycine, retinol, essential fatty acids, methionine, dimethylamine (DMA), trimethylamine, and trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO) with the use of liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry. Results: Socioeconomic factors and biomarker concentrations were comparable at baseline. Of infants, 11.4% were vitamin B-12 deficient and 31.7% marginally deficient at baseline. In adjusted generalized linear regression modeling, the egg intervention increased plasma concentrations compared with control by the following effect sizes: choline, 0.35 (95% CI: 0.12, 0.57); betaine, 0.29 (95% CI: 0.01, 0.58); methionine, 0.31 (95% CI: 0.03, 0.60); docosahexaenoic acid, 0.43 (95% CI: 0.13, 0.73); DMA, 0.37 (95% CI: 0.37, 0.69); and TMAO, 0.33 (95% CI: 0.08, 0.58). No significant group differences were found for vitamin B-12, retinol, linoleic acid (LA), a-linolenic acid (ALA), or ratios of betaine to choline and LA to ALA. Conclusion: The findings supported our hypothesis that early introduction of eggs significantly improved choline and other markers in its methyl group metabolism pathway. This trial was registered at clinicaltrials.gov as NCT02446873.
