Present-day curricular designs have to take the pupils' psychological needs in account, thus becoming melodies of mental health and happiness for the next generation. Emphasizing the findings from previous investigations using the research synthesis methodology, the present study has been conducted aiming at achieving some integrative knowledge under the inclusive title of "Mental Health Improvement-based Curricular Content." Goal-oriented homogeneous sampling method was applied in order to select 100 research papers from Iranian scholars on the subject of pupils' mental health improvement using accredited databases between 2005 and 2016. Data analysis using open subject coding encompassing three stages, namely open, axial, and selective coding, indicated that a curriculum with contents in two overall categories of mental health literacy (optimism and positive thinking; socialization; monotheistic life; happiness; self-efficacy; self-awareness and self-actualization & …) and mental health skills (emotions management, interpersonal communication, critical thinking, adaptability, tolerance, and finally & …) has to be designed in order to improve the pupils' mental health.

Background: Patients with chronic diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS) suffer more from psychiatric consequences than others, and their quality of life may be drastically affected, causing syndromes like depression and anxiety. Mindfulness-integrated cognitive behavioral therapy (Mi-CBT) seems to improve stress coping strategies in chronically ill patients, but its effectiveness has been little studied in MS. So, in this study, we aimed to assess its effectiveness on stress coping strategies in women suffering from MS in Mazandaran province, Iran. Methods: In this semi-experimental study, we selected 40 women with MS who had been referred to a neurologist in Mazandaran province, Iran during the year 2016 by convenient sampling and randomly assigned to the Mi-CBT and control group with a one-to-one ratio. Patients in the intervention group were under treatment for eight 120-minutes session, while the control group only stayed on the waiting list. After obtaining the ethics committee's approval (IR.IAU.CHALUS.REC.1397.018) and patient's informed consent, both groups underwent a pre-test assessment with a stress status questionnaire developed by Endler and Parker in 1988. The same assessment was done for both groups two times more, one after compilation of all sessions, and one 45 days later. Repeated measures analysis of variance was done using SPSS Version 24 software. Results: There was a difference between intervention and the control group for avoidanceoriented, and problem-oriented stress coping strategies (p<0.01), but there was not a significant difference for emotion-oriented strategy between groups (P=0.22). Background and Objectives: Early childhood care and education has recently attracted much attention for promoting optimal development of children. The present study was administered to evaluate the effectiveness of early childhood care and education on the intelligence of children 2 to 24 months and their mother's affective capital and parenting stress. Materials and Methods: A total of 25 participants (50 mothers and children) were selected through purposive sampling for each of the groups of 2 to 12 and 13 to 24 months. The Cattell Infant Intelligence Scale, Affective Capital Questionnaire, and Parenting Stress Questionnaire were used to assess independent variables. Each group of mothers and children received early care and education for 6 weeks. Data were analyzed using a paired samples t-test. Results: The results indicated that early childhood care and education significantly improved the intelligence of children 2 to 12 and 13 to 24 months by 1.20 and 1.59, and their mothers' affective capital by 25.52 and 12.47, respectively (P<0.01). The observations also suggested that early childhood care and education reduced the parenting stress among mothers of children aged 2 to 24 months by 103.20 and 37.47, respectively (P<0.01). Conclusions: It is recommended to pay more attention to early childhood care and education in families and kindergartens due to its effectiveness in improving the intelligence of children 2 to 24 months, as well as increasing the affective capital and reducing the stress of parenting in mothers. Background: Given the importance of emotions, the present study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of achievement emotion regulation training package on negative emotions and selfregulation learning strategies (cognitive and metacognitive) among female high school students. Methods: The research method was semi-experimental with pre-test, post-test, and follow-up for two months relative to the control group. The statistical population included female high school students in Tehran in the academic year 2017-2018. A sample size of 50 cases (25 students in each group) was selected using multi-stage random cluster sampling. The experimental group learned how to regulate their achievement emotions in twelve 120-min sessions for two months. The Achievement Emotions Questionnaire (AEQ) and Motivated Strategies Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) were used. Raw data analysis was performed using SPSS V. 22 and an Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). Results: The results showed that regulation of achievement emotions caused a decrease in negative emotions (93.7%) and an increase in the use of cognitive/metacognitive strategies (53.6%) among experimental group members (P<0.001), while these results approximately did not change in the follow-up phase regarding negative emotions reduction (93.5%) and the increased use of cognitive/metacognitive strategies (52.6%). Introduction: Children with cancer need psychological treatment to increase their quality of life along with medical treatments. Accordingly, the aim of this study was to determine the comparing the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral art-play therapy group and the cognitive-behavioral story therapy on health related quality of life among children with cancer. Materials and Methods: The research method was semi-experimental, and research design was three groups with two stages (pre-test and post-test design). From statistical population of 8-12 years old children with cancer in Amir Hospital (Shiraz city, Iran) in the Summer of 2018, 36 children were selected and then randomly assigned in two therapeutic groups (each group with 12 cases) and a control group (with 12 cases). Children Health related Quality of Life Scale (KiD-KINDL-Bullinger & Ravens-Sieberer, 1998) was used to measure the dependent variable in the pretest and post-test. The group of cognitive-behavioral art-play therapy and cognitive-behavioral story therapy received 12 sessions of treatment. The data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance. Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference between cognitive-behavioral art-play therapy and cognitive-behavioral story therapy with the control group in health related quality of life (P<0.001) and their components. However, there was no significant difference between cognitive-behavioral art-play therapy and cognitive-behavioral story therapy in increasing the health related quality of life in children with cancer (P>0.05). Conclusion: It is suggested that cognitive-behavioral story therapy and cognitive-behavioral art-play therapy should be used in educational and therapeutic environments to promote the level of health related quality of life for children with cancer. Objective: Diabetes is chronic and debilitating disease that affects all aspects of a person's life. The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of compassion focused (CFT)-acceptance commitment (ACT) combined therapy with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), on interpersonal forgiveness in women with type II diabetes. Materials and Methods: This was of quasi-experimental study on three groups (CFT-ACT combined therapy, a cognitivebehavioral and a control group) and three stages (pre-test, post-test and follow up). Among diabetic women population, 47 patients were selected purposefully and randomly assigned to three groups. Tow experimental groups (CFT-ACT & CBT) received 120 minutes' sessions of CFT- ACT and CB for10 weeks. The control group did not receive any treatment. Data were analyzed by repeated measures analysis of variance using SPSS-24 software. Results: The results showed that the scores of experimental group participants in the post test of CFT-ACT and CBT improved significantly compared to the control group in all three components of forgiveness, including reconnection and revenge control, resentment control and realistic understanding (P-value: 0/000). The experimental group of the combined therapeutic model was more effective than the CBT group in the two components of resentment control and realistic understanding. Conclusion: Based on the findings, the combination therapy of CFT- ACT and CBT can be used to promote reconnection and revenge control, resentment control and realistic understanding in diabetic patients. Objective: The aim of this study was performed to determine the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on psychological flexibility in obese women in Isfahan, Iran. Materials and Methods: This was a quasi-experimental pre-test, post-test trial with follow-up. The study population was all of the obese women in Isfahan in 2014 (BMI≥30).the sample of study was selected by convenience sampling method. They were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups (15 per group). The Acceptance and Action Questionnaire for Weight-Related Difficulties (Lillis & Hayes, 2008) was the study instrument. The intervention was 8 sessions of 90 minutes. Acceptance and commitment therapy was provided only to the experimental group. Data was analyzed by SPSS. Results: Results of covariance analysis showed a significant increase in psychological flexibility at post-test and follow-up stage (P<0.05). Conclusion: Our findings showed that acceptance and commitment therapy has been effective on psychological flexibility of obese women. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background and purpose: Studies have shown that increasing self-efficacy could predict the treatment success for weight loss. This study assessed the efficacy of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) on weight self-efficacy lifestyle in obese women in Isfahan. Materials and methods: A quasi-experimental pretest/post-test control group design was conducted on all obese women (BMI≥30) in Isfahan in spring 2014. Convenience sampling was performed and 30 obese women were selected according to our defined inclusion criteria. They were randomly assigned either in a control or experimental group (n=15 per group). The Weight Efficacy Lifestyle Questionnaire was completed by the participants in pre-test, post-test and follow-up stages. The experimental group attended ACT classes for 8 sessions/90 min. Results: Significant differences were found in weight self-efficacy lifestyle in all subscales including food availability, social pressure, physical discomfort, negative emotions, and positive activities in experimental group during all stages. Conclusion: According to this study, ACT could improve weight self-efficacy lifestyle as a predicting index of weight loss in obese women. Background: This study assessed the effects of hypnotherapy in conjunction with pharmacotherapy versus pharmacotherapy on the quality of life in patients diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Materials and Methods: This clinical trial used the convenience sampling method to enroll 34 IBS patients. Patients were selected according to Rome III criteria and divided into two groups: i) hypnotherapy plusstandard medical treatmentand ii) standard medical treatment. The QOL-IBS scale assessed patient quality of life at baseline, post-treatment and at the six month follow-up. Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). Results: There were significant differences observed between both groups at the post-treatment and follow-up stages in terms of quality of life (p<0.05).
