Induction of posterior vitreous detachment is an active area of developmental clinical and basic research. Despite exerting an incompletely elucidated physiological effect, ocriplasmin (also known as microplasmin) has been recognized to serve as a well-tolerated intravitreal injection for the treatment of vitreomacular traction and full-thickness macular hole. There are several unexplored areas of intervention where enzymatic vitreolysis could potentially be used (ie, diabetic macular edema). Recent promising studies have included combinations of enzymatic approaches and new synthetic molecules that induce complete posterior vitreous detachment as well as antiangiogenesis. The diagnosis and classification of ERM has traditionally been based on clinical examination findings. However, modern optical coherence tomography (OCT) has proven to be more sensitive than clinical examination for the diagnosis of ERM. Furthermore, OCT-derived findings, such as central foveal thickness and inner segment ellipsoid band integrity, have shown clinical relevance in the setting of ERM. To date, no OCT-based ERM classification scheme has been widely accepted for use in clinical practice and investigation. Herein, we review the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and classification of ERMs and propose an OCT-based ERM classification system. Abstract

Cloud computing is an emerging technology in distributed computing which facilitates pay per model as per user demand and requirement.Cloud consist of a collection of virtual machine which includes both computational and storage facility. The primary aim of cloud computing is to provide efficient access to remote and geographically distributed resources. Cloud is developing day by day and faces many challenges, one of them is scheduling. Scheduling refers to a set of policies to control the order of work to be performed by a computer system. A good scheduler adapts its scheduling strategy according to the changing environment and the type of task. In this research paper we presented a Generalized Priority algorithm for efficient execution of task and comparison with FCFS and Round Robin Scheduling. Abstract

Time synchronization for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) has been studied in recent years as a fundamental and significant research issue. Many applications based on these WSNs assume local clocks at each sensor node that need to be synchronized to a common notion of time. Time synchronization in a WSN is critical for accurate time stamping of events and fine-tuned coordination among the sensor nodes to reduce power consumption. This paper proposes a bidirectional, reference based, tree structured time synchronization service for WSNs along with network evaluation phase. This offers a push mechanism for (i) accurate and (ii) low overhead for global time synchronization. Analysis study of proposed approach shows that it is lightweight as the number of required broadcasting messages is constant in one broadcasting domain., Comment: 12 pages

This paper provides an extensive overview of Radio Frequency Identification technology (RFID) and its applications across different industries, rather than focusing on recent developments alone. Due to the multidisciplinary nature of RFID, proficiency in various engineering fields is necessary to fully comprehend this technology. As the use of RFID continues to expand in various industries, it is imperative to educate engineers and professionals to better understand this technology. An RFID system typically consists of tags, readers, antennae, and software, and various factors such as reading range, frequency range, and environmental considerations must be taken into account when designing such a system. Security must also be a key consideration in the development of an RFID system. To incorporate RFID technology into traditional engineering curricula, this study proposes emphasizing its connection to traditional fields such as electrical, computer, and artificial engineering.

39. A rare case of pleomorphic adenoma.

Abstract

Pleomorphic adenoma (PA) is a benign salivary gland neoplasm. It represents 45% to 74% of all salivary gland tumors and is associated with recurrence, malignant transformation, and metastasis. The risk of malignant transformation in PA increases from around 1.6% in tumors with less than 5 years of evolution to 9.5% for those presenting for more than 15 years. Malignancies arising in PA encompass 3 entities: (1) carcinoma ex-pleomorphic adenoma (CXPA), (2) carcinosarcoma, and (3) metastasizing benign pleomorphic adenoma. CXPA is a rare, aggressive, poorly understood malignancy that usually develops in a primary or recurrent PA. Case Description: A 65-year-old female patient reported a chief complaint of pain and swelling below the lower jaw and around her ears, for 2 years. The patient had a history of swelling at the same site 20 years prior, which was operated on 2 years ago. On clinical examination, the swelling was present on the mandibular left posterior region, extending anteriorly from the lobule of the ear, and posteriorly along the length of the neck down to the supraclavicular notch. Upon palpation, the mass was soft to firm, lobulated, and nodular. Radiographic Imaging. Computed tomographic imaging of soft tissue windows reveals a well-defined predominantly cystic mass. The chest radiographs demonstrate a cannonball appearance. Multiple variable radiolucencies, seen in both lungs, are suggestive of metastasis. Differential Diagnosis. On the basis of clinical and radiographic imaging, the differential diagnosis includes metastasis, Wegner's granulomatosis, and CXPA. Diagnosis and Management: Fine needle aspiration was done, and was reported as CXPA. An excisional biopsy was then taken, and tissue was sent for histopathology, confirming the fine-needle aspiration diagnosis. Clinical Implication. Understanding the underlining complications of pleomorphic adenoma makes us better equipped to render an earlier diagnosis and optimal treatment to the patient. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Driverless Tesla trailers on US National Highways, Zomato, Swiggy and Dunzo getting DGCA’s approval for drone-deliveries, autonomous trains going faster than the speed of a Formula 1 car are all luxurious problems that the Wild West and highly urbanised Indian metropolitan cities have to worry about. When it comes to ensuring sustainable daily supply of salt, spices, milk powder, biscuits, tea leaves, and dairy products, medicines among other essentials, to the most underdeveloped villages of Odisha at optimum lead times and cheap prices, the transport industry of Odisha has a long way to go. This paper aims at finding out the types of transporters for consumer goods in the Odisha market at present the types of services they offer and if and how modern transporters are giving the reputed traditional transporters of the State a run for their money. Modern transporters employ technology and have strong pan-India presence so the local transporters who have historically worked out of one State only primarily are finding it tough to compete with them. While the modern transporters are high on financing their services and tech, the traditional local transporters know their local markets and governing bodies best. However, can Odisha’s own learn and grow from this opportunity or will they succumb to these giants and perish?
