The interesting g-C3N4 nanosheet morphology has drawn huge attention in photocatalytic applications because of its special features. Nonetheless, the relative activity of these nanosheets is still controversial due to the low available active sites and the high recombination probability of photo-induced charge carriers. In this work, in situ sol–gel approach was applied to synthesize holey g-C3N4 nanosheets/hydroxyapatite (HAp) nanospheres with plentiful in-plane holes. Herein, the presence of Ca2+ plays a key role in the formation of holey defects on 2D g-C3N4. In-plane holes provide nanosheets with more active edges and diffusion channelsv, resulting in a tremendous enhanced mass and photo-induced charge transfer speed. Moreover, the holes make highly numbered boundaries, which lead to the prevention of aggregation. On the other hand, distributed nano-HAp spheres on these nanosheets can form effective heterojunctions having high photo-degradation ability of pollutants. Intrinsic O-vacancies inside HAp unit cells mainly affect the capture of photogenerated electrons, pollutant molecules, and O2 gas. The synergistic presence of O-vacancies and holey defects (C-vacancies) on 2D g-C3N4 plays a key role in raising the photocatalytic performance of holey g-C3N4/HAp. It can be concluded that the proposed preparation method is a promising approach for simultaneous synthesis of holey g-C3N4 and surface heterojunctions of Ca-based materials. This new structure has shown significant degradation ability of bisphenol A, a prominent pollutant, with a low amount (0.01 g) and short time.

AIM To describe the findings and recommendations of the general health assessment (GHA) of newly resettled refugee children in Denmark. METHODS This cross-sectional study included children (aged

The municipality of Copenhagen offers general health assessment (GHA) to all newly resettled refugees, conducted at the Section of Immigrant Medicine, Hvidovre Hospital. This study described their disease burden and sociodemographic characteristics.In this cross-sectional study, all adult individuals assessed from 1 January 2017 to 30 January 2019 were included. Doctors performed the GHA, including a structured questionnaire, clinical examination and blood testing.In total, 160 refugees were included. Few suffered from communicable diseases (e.g., 1% hepatitis B virus) or other somatic diseases (4% diabetes Type 2). However, deficiencies such as vitamin D deficiency (76%), vitamin B12 deficiency (31%) and anaemia (12%) were frequent. The majority reported headache (54%) or other pain (53%). Furthermore, signs of post-traumatic stress disorder were frequent (33%) and significantly associated with experience of torture, prison and persecution.The population presented with pertinent health issues such as vitamin deficiencies, mental health issues and symptoms of pain. Few suffered from non-communicable or communicable diseases. Our results suggest that an offer of specialised services at municipality level for all newly resettled refugees may be beneficial. Furthermore, the study underlines the need for more research within the field of refugee health.None.Ethical approval was obtained from the Capital Region of Denmark and the Danish Patient Safety Authority.

Purpose: Health analysis of environmental quality requires available and special indices matched completely with reality which can provide the possibility of full recognition of studying community. In fact, it tends to present a new methodological framework by applying expert surveys. Methods: Therefore, 153 indices including 21 ecological indices, 21 economic indices, 50 social indices and 61 physical indices are applied to assess and evaluate health sustainability. Identifying the related components and indices to the assessment of health environmental quality in the rural areas to determine if the identified components and indices are able to measure the health of environmental quality in the rural areas. Lorestan province in Iran with 11 cities (divisions) was selected as a sample. Results: The findings from the field findings indicate that the designed components and indices could evaluate the health status of environmental quality in rural areas. The findings from single-sample T test show that descriptive T and the health of environmental quality test are in an undesirable level in term of components like (economic, physical, social and ecological). Conclusion: Besides, the findings from utility Radar indicate that 18 villages are in a complete bad situation, while 12 ones are in a fairly weak situation in terms of all aspects of environmental quality health; none has a moderate and complete optimistic status.

The adsorption behavior of amino acid cysteine over the pure B 12 N 12 nano-cluster has been investigated using density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) calculations. Interaction between the cluster and the amino acid has been explored through all the four functional groups; hydroxyl (-OH), carboxyl (-COOH), amine (-NH 2 ), and thiol (-SH) of the acid. The zwitterionic form of the amino acid has also been taken into consideration while studying the adsorption of amino acid on the cluster surface. The nature of interaction between the two has been exhaustively explored in terms of adsorption energy, nearest atom distance, optical and electronic properties as well as vibrational frequencies analysis. The affinity of cluster to bind more than one amino acid has been established for amino acids that are present as dippetide as well as for two distinct cysteine molecules.

Background : Adolescence is one of the most critical growth periods in the human's life. Eating disorder is one of the most common nutritional-psychological disorders in this period, which can lead to acute and chronic physical and mental problems. Therefore, regarding the importance of the topic, the present study was designed to determine the prevalence of weight – controlling attitude and eating disorders, and their association with anthropometric indices in female adolescent school students. Materials and Methods: The present study was a cross-sectional descriptive analytical study. 594 high school adolescent girls were selected using multi-stage random sampling method. Nutritional attitude was assessed by use of a nutritional attitude questionnaire. Another specific questionnaire was used to gather demographic and anthropometric information. Data analysis was done using SPSS software, independent t- test and Chi-square (P˂0.05). Results: The information shows that 80% of the studied population are at risk of eating disorders. The number of the obese , over weight and underweight students were significantly more in the group with nutritional attitude disorders. Conclusion: Due to the high prevalence of eating disorders in adolescent girls, and the concomitant obesity and underweight with these disorders, the correction of these attitude could be mentioned as a health priority in this city

Background: Kidney stone is a common and costly disease, but it may be improved by a healthy diet. The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between dietary intake and stone formation in patients with urinary stones in Shiraz. Methods: In this cross sectional study, 110 patients with kidney stone were selected from Faghihi hospital, Shiraz. Demographic information was collected, and anthropometric indices, disease-related variables, physical activity (using IPAQ), and dietary intake (using food frequency questionnaire, analyzed by Nut 4 software, to estimate micro and macro nutrients) were evaluated. Independent sample t test and one-way ANOVA were used to compare the quantitative variables between the 2 groups and multi groups, respectively. Chi square test was also used to compare qualitative variables. The correlation between variables was determined using Pearson test. Results: Out of 110 participants in this study, 37 (33.6%) were female, with the mean BMI of 27.0 ± 4.68 kg/m2, and 73 (66.4%) were male, with the mean BMI of 24.21±2.96 kg/m2. The mean intake of calcium-containing foods (p=0.02) and high-fructose beverages (p=0.03) was significantly greater in patients with calcium stones compared to those with uric acid stones. The mean intake of high-purine foods was significantly higher in patients with uric acid stones than in those with calcium stones (p=0.007). The mean intake of vitamin A (p=0.02), beta-carotene (p=0.03), and fructose (p=0.03) was significantly higher in patients with calcium stones than in those with uric acid stones, while caffeine intake was significantly higher in patients with uric acid than in those with calcium stones (p=0.01). There was a significant correlation between consumption of high-oxalic beverages (p=0.005, correlation coefficient = 0.26) and high-fructose (p=0.048, correlation coefficient = 0.18) with spontaneous stone expulsion. Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between consuming vitamin A, beta-carotene, and foods containing calcium, purine, fructose, and oxalate and formation of kidney stones. Therefore, adopting a healthy diet and increasing physical activity may be effective in the treatment of kidney stones.

Introduction: The present study aimed to find an appropriate method to inform senior high school students to correctly select their academic field of study and their intentions. Methods: This is a descriptive-analytic and cross-sectional study. A verified questionnaire was given to a total of 2600 students selected by stratified random sampling method (ten different colleges and entrance year from the 1st to 4th are considered as the strata). The position of the present field of study (major) among the list of the fields in the entrance exam was asked. The students’ methods of familiarity with different fields of study in Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (SUMS), the reasons for their selection, the students’ motivation and insistence on studying in the same field and university were asked in the questionnaire. Data were analyzed using independent two samples t-test, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Chi-Square test. Results: The most significant references for university field selection were high school teachers, the students' parents and the adjacency of university to one's living place. Also, the results revealed the good reputation of SUMS in the first year and its downward trend during the following years. 59.4% of the 1st year students were satisfied with their field of study and SUMS. 31.8% were satisfied with the university but not with their fields of study. 6.4% were dissatisfied with the university but not with their fields of study. 2% of the students were dissatisfied with both their fields of study and university. Dissatisfaction with SUMS and field of study increased little by little so that the results obtained among the students who had entered the university earlier (in the 4th year of their study) showed nearly 16.3% dissatisfaction with both the university and the study fields. Conclusion: The methods for introducing the university are recommended to be revised.

Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry was applied for uranium isotope ratio measurement. Even high resolution spectrometers cannot resolve small isotopic shift between 235U and 238U emission lines. Multivariate calibration techniques are useful tools for overcoming spectral overlap. The emission spectra of natural and depleted uranium samples were modelled by the laboratory written PLS-2 program (according to PLS algorithm). Four factors were selected as the optimum number of factors. The PLS model was applied on an independent test set. The results were validated by thermal ionization mass spectrometry (TIMS). A good agreement between the predicted results from the PLS-2 model and the TIMS results were obtained.
