This book deals with air-ground aeronautical communications. The main goal is to give the reader a survey of the currently deployed, emerging and future communications systems dedicated to digital data communications between the aircraft and the ground, namely the data link. Those communication systems show specific properties relatively to those commonly used for terrestrial communications. In this book, the system architectures are more specifically considered from the access to the application layers as radio and physical functionalities have already been addressed in detail in others books. The first part is an introduction to aeronautical communications, their specific concepts, properties, requirements and terminology. The second part presents the currently used systems for air ground communications in continental and oceanic area. Um einen Überblick über die Abweichungen von den von der ICAO vorgeschriebenen Phraseologien zu gewinnen, wurden insgesamt sieben Stunden Sprechfunkverkehr von zwei internationalen Flughäfen (New York JFK und Amsterdam Schiphol) aufgezeichnet und transkribiert. Anschließend wurden die Transkripte hinsichtlich der Abweichungsarten und deren Häufung analysiert. Auf der Basis soziolinguistischer Theorien erfolgte eine Thesenerstellung hinsichtlich deren Ursache. Die Auswertung der Daten deutet daraufhin, dass Lotsen wie Piloten gewohnheitsmäßig von den vorgeschriebenen Phraseologien abweichen. Obwohl Höflichkeitsfloskeln von der ICAO abgelehnt werden, sind Grüße trotzdem in jedem Sprecherwechsel zu verzeichnen. Diese stören jedoch den Ablauf der Interaktion nicht, sie erleichtern im Gegenteil die interkulturelle Kommunikation. Andere Abweichungen jedoch, wie beispielsweise das Weglassen von Maßeinheiten, können dagegen zu schwerwiegenden Missverständnissen führen. Es scheint außerdem so zu sein, dass die Sprechweise des einen Kommunikationspartners die des anderen maßgeblich beeinflusst. In der Arbeit wurden die Ursachen für die identifizierten Abweichungen herausgearbeitet, und es wurde der Frage nachgegangen, auf welche Weise das Risiko, welches damit zusammenhängt, zukünftig vermindert werden kann.
