BACKGROUND: The study object is a high-speed drainage submersible electric pump, aimed to water polluted sea and fresh water bailing out of drowned rooms of shipbuilding industry facilities. AIMS: To obtain dependencies of pump cavitation properties on relative diameter of an impeller inlet at the high flow rate modes, to determine the kind of head-capacity and energy properties of a pump for various geometrical ratios of an impeller in the flow rate operational range. METHODS: Main geometrical properties of impellers were determined with use of semi-empirical formulas of various authors methods. For the study of dependencies, three options of impellers were chosen and series of fluid dynamic simulations of three-dimensional flow of viscous fluid with use of the ANSYS CFX software were completed. RESULTS: Head-capacity, energy and cavitation properties of the pumping unit were obtained. The experimental head-capacity curve correlates to the simulated one. The simulation results revealed that using of narrowed impeller inlet leads to generation of wide low-pressure area at the backside of the impeller vane and disruption of operational curves at the high flow rate modes. With the biggest relative diameter of the impeller inlet, the vapor pressure area at the backside of the impeller is absent so there is no disruption of operational curves at the high flow rate modes, however, the pump hydraulic efficiency ratio at the whole range of flow rate is the lowest among all the studied options of impellers. CONCLUSIONS: The method of defining the value of an impeller inlet diameter, optimal with regard to energy and cavitation properties, to ensure cavitation free operation of a high-speed submersible electric pump at the whole range of flow rate is proposed.

The use of International Classification of Diseases 10th revision (ICD-10) and International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) are proposed for objective evaluation of impaired functions. A set of significant clinical and functional factors was identified. The study presents an example of the new disability criteria for children with cardiovascular diseases. To determine the main directions for improving the organizational, legal, and methodological approaches to the establishment of disability in children in the Russian Federation. Data from the state statistics (Rosstat and Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation), current Russian legal documents, provisions of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, ICF biopsychosocial concept of disability, methodological and information materials, experience of federal institutions of medical and social expertise in the Russian Federation were analyzed regarding the disability in children. The use of ICD-10 and ICF was proposed for the objective evaluation of impaired functions. A set of significant clinical and functional factors was identified. An example of new disability criteria for children with cardiovascular disease was presented. To eliminate information barriers in medical and public organizations, among parents, and other interested parties, systematic work information is needed to disseminate knowledge about methodological, organizational, and methodological approaches to establishing disability in children.

BACKGROUND: Down syndrome is common, insufficiently well-studied genetic pathology, which leads to early disability of the childrens population. In this pathology leads neurological disorders of different severity. Currently, the methods of correction of the existing cerebral deficit in such children are actively being developed. Correction of mental function help to socialize children with Down syndrome. AIMS: to study the effectiveness of transcranial micropolarization in the complex therapy of neurological disorders in children with Down syndrome. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Ability using the transcranial micropolarization method by N.Yu. Kozhushko allows reliably to improve the existing cerebral dysfunction in the Down syndrome. RESULTS: According to the results of testing on a 10-point scale for assessing speech function, 6 months after the procedures, there was a significant improvement in the indicators of expressive and impressive speech, speech attention, as well as positive dynamics in the formation and improvement of neatness skills. Undesirable effects were noted in isolated cases and were manifested by a short-term sleep disturbance or arousal after a session of transcranial micropolarization. CONCLUSIONS: The method of transcranial micropolarization adapted by N.Yu. Kozhushko, can be recommended for complex habilitation for patients with Down syndrome. Timely corrected neurological symptoms can improve the quality of life of such children and their families, and contribute to their timely adaptation in society.

2.1. Compilation of information about Kinorhyncha measurements A bibliographic search of taxonomic studies (descriptions of new taxa, redescriptions, et cetera) related to Kinorhyncha since the discovery of the phylum has been carried out. The keywords ‘Kinorhyncha’, ‘kinorhynch’ and ‘mud dragon’, followed by ‘measurement’, ‘measure’, ‘new species’ and ‘description’ were used in Google Scholar and the Web of Science™ for this survey. For each search, the title, material and methods, species description and morphometric tables of corresponding publications were screened to search for measurement definitions and details. The oldest publication that specified how to take a measurement was retained. All relevant papers were carefully consulted to extract all the information on Kinorhyncha measurements. Not all the information about the measurement uptake methods was included in these publications (e.g. preferred anatomical position to take trunk and segment lengths). Taxonomic studies of the phylum Kinorhyncha follow a standardised structure, which is extremely useful in many aspects, such as making it easier to read and compare the different species descriptions. Nevertheless, the morphological measurements methods, essential for formal description of species, may differ according to the authors. In the present contribution, we propose a standardised method of taking and representing the measurements, with the aim of obtaining comparable and repeatable morphometric results. Additionally, we propose an online repository to make the measurements accessible to all researchers in the same format, facilitating future comparisons and studies. Finally, a glossary that compiles and defines all the measurements that may be included in Kinorhyncha descriptions is presented. A new species of echinoderid kinorhynchs, Echinoderes xiphophorus sp. nov. collected from oxidized brown silt at the deepest depression in the Sea of Japan, North-West Pacific, is described and illustrated using light and electron microscopy. This new representative of the most speciose kinorhynch genus is characterized by the unique set of spines and tubes and can easily be distinguished from most of its congeners. The second trunk segment bears three pairs of tubes in subdorsal, midlateral and ventrolateral position in both sexes; one pair of tubes on trunk segment 5 in lateroventral position and on trunk segment 8 in sublateral position; aciculate lateroventral spines on trunk segments 6–9; aciculate middorsal spines on trunk segments 4, 6, 8. This species is well recognized by very long tergal extensions of the posteriormost segment, some of the longest within the family Echinoderidae. Males of Echinoderes xiphophorus sp. nov. are well distinguished from all the congeners by extremely long sword-like appendages dorsally to three pairs of penile spines. The species constitutes the first deep-sea representative of the Echinoderidae in the Sea of Japan and the deepest representative of the Kinorhyncha in this sea.
