The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of drying at different temperatures on the physical properties of the grains; water content, volumetric contraction, the weight of thousand grains, apparent specific mass, length, width, thickness, circularity, sphericity, and comparison of methodologies of soybeans. To evaluate the physical properties, the soybean grain samples with an initial water content of 19.06% b.u. were subjected to the effects of drying air temperatures heated to 40ºC, 55ºC, 70ºC, and 85ºC. The samples were dried in a conventional natural convection oven until reaching 19% water contents, 17%, 15%, 13%, and 11% b.u. Subsequently, the drying curve of soybeans dried under different temperatures was characterized and the physical properties of an apparent specific mass, the weight of one thousand grains, and volumetric contraction were analyzed. It was noted that the increase in temperature affected the three-dimensional axes of the grains, causing them to lose water to the drying air. However, when these grains are dried at high temperatures spending less time, their characteristics are modified. The weight of the grains and the apparent specific mass decreased with increasing temperature during drying. The circularity, sphericity, and unit volume decreased with the increase in temperature during drying, therefore, it is not possible to use the new proposal of digital methodology instead of manual measurement, since the correlation between the two methodologies is close to zero. For the conditions under which the experiment was carried out, it can be concluded that with the increase in the temperature of the drying air, the grains dry faster, and yet the physical dimensions are more preserved, not being intensely reduced throughout the process.

Brazil is one of the largest vegetable producers, which contributes to the creation of jobs for small and medium-sized producers, with emphasis on family farming. The objective of this work was to evaluate the cherry tomato and chili pepper seedlings development adopting the agroindustrial by-product filter cake enriched with rock dust. Two experiments were conducted, one with cherry tomatoes and the other with chili pepper in a greenhouse located at the State University of Goiás, Brazil. For each experiment, a randomized block design with six treatments and six replications was used, totaling 36 experimental plots. Each experimental plot comprised 8 tubes containing one plant in each, totaling 288 tubes and plants in each experiment. The treatments were formed by combining the agroindustrial by-product filter cake and rock dust. The total length of the seedling (TL), aboveground height (Ah.), stem diameter (SD), number of leaves (NL), root length (RL), fresh root mass (FRM), dry root mass (DRM) and dry aboveground mass (DAM) have been evaluated. The pepper and cherry tomato crops morphometric data was submitted to descriptive statistical analysis and principal component analysis (PCA). Only the 80% FC + 20% RD treatment, which did not have a high coefficient of variation (CV) for the plant morphometric variables, characterizing the most efficient treatment for the seedlings morphometric development. It was verified that higher proportions of filter cake (treatment at 100% and 90% of the cake application) resulted in greater variability of the growth and development of pepper seedlings. It was also found that there is a high correlation between RL and TL, with correlation coefficients close to 1. Such behaviour occurred as a result of the co-dependency of these crop systems. The 80% FC + 20% RD treatment showed the best results for the morphometric development of chili pepper and cherry tomato seedlings, which should be recommended for future experiments, as well as to be adopted by small producers.

espanolContextualizacion del tema: el frijol mungo es ampliamente cultivado en Asia y en Brasil, y ha surgido como una opcion para el cultivo en el segundo cultivo en el Centro Oeste de Brasil, especialmente cuando se pretende la rotacion con pastos; sin embargo, la aparicion desigual y lenta de las plantulas de frijol mungo puede conducir a retrasos en el desarrollo del cultivo y perjudicar la posicion final. Vacio de investigacion: algunas de las condiciones que afectan al establecimiento inicial del cultivo son la profundidad de siembra y el tamano de la semilla. Estos factores todavia estan siendo discutidos en el entorno cientifico, especialmente para una cultura recientemente insertada en Brasil. Proposito del estudio: el objetivo fue evaluar el efecto del tamano de las semillas y la estandarizacion de la profundidad de la siembra en el rendimiento de las plantulas de frijol mungo. Metodologia: el ensayo se llevo a cabo en un Latossuelo Rojo, con clima Aw, precipitacion media anual de 1300 mm y distribucion bimodal. El diseno experimental utilizado fue completamente aleatorio, en un esquema factorial de 2 × 3 con 8 replicas de 25 semillas, con un total de 48 parcelas. Los factores analizados fueron de los tamanos de semilla (3 y 4 mm) y tres profundidades de siembra (1, 2 y 3 cm). Se evaluo el indice de velocidad de emergencia (IVE), las plantulas no emergidas, las plantulas normales, la masa fresca, la masa seca y la longitud de las plantulas. Los datos se sometieron al analisis de varianza y, cuando se aplicaba una probabilidad significativa del 5%, se aplico una prueba de Tukey para comparar los medios de los factores en estudio. Resultados y conclusiones: se verifico que, cuando se siembran a 1 cm de profundidad, las semillas de frijol mungo tienen IVE mas bajo; sin embargo, obtuvieron un menor porcentaje de plantulas no relevantes para el estudio, y un mayor porcentaje de plantulas normales emergio a una profundidad de 3 cm. Por lo tanto, la profundidad mas recomendada para la siembra de frijoles mungo fue de 2 cm, independientemente del tamano de la semilla utilizada. Lo tamano de semilla de 4 mm permitio el desarrollo de plantulas con mayor acumulacion de materia seca. EnglishContextualization: The mung bean is widely cultivated in Asia and Brazil, it has emerged as an option for cultivation in the second crop in the Central West Brazil, especially rotation with grasses is intended; however, the uneven and slow emergence of mung bean seedlings can lead to delays in the development of the crop and impair the final stand. Knowledge gap: Some of the conditions that affect the initial establishment of the crop are the sowing depth and the size of the seed. These factors are still under discussion in the scientific environment, especially for a culture recently introduced in Brazil. Purpose: the objective was to evaluate the effect of seed size and sowing depth standardization on the performance of mung bean seedlings. Methodology: The trial was conducted in a Red Latosol, with Aw climate, average annual rainfall of 1300 mm and bimodal distribution. The experimental design used was completely randomized, in a 2 × 3 factorial scheme with 8 replicates of 25 seeds, totaling 48 plots. The factors analyzed were two seed size (3 and 4 mm) and three sowing depths (1, 2 and 3 cm). The emergency speed index (ISE), non-emerged seedlings, normal seedlings, fresh mass, dry mass and seedling length were evaluated. The data were submitted to variance analysis and, when significant at 5% probability, a Tukey test was applied to compare the means of the factors under study. Results and conclusions: It was verified that, when sown at 1 cm depth, the seeds of mung bean have lower ISE, however, they obtained a lower percentage of seedlings not relevant for the study, and a higher percentage of normal seedlings emerged than at a depth of 3 cm. Thus, the most recommended depth for the sowing of mung beans was 2 cm, regardless of the size of the seed used. The seed class of 4 mm allowed the development of seedlings with higher dry matter accumulation.

O sorgo sacarino tem se destacado dentre as culturas bioenergeticas, e a torta de filtro frequentemente tem sido utilizada como biofertilizante, devido seu alto potencial nutritivo para as plantas. Neste contexto, estre trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o efeito da aplicacao de diferentes doses de torta de filtro sob as caracteristicas de altura de plantas, diâmetro de colmo e produtividade de cultivares de sorgo sacarino. O delineamento experimental empregado foi o de blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial 5x2, com 4 blocos, sendo cinco doses de torta de filtro: 0, 15, 30, 45, 60 t ha -1 e duas cultivares comerciais de sorgo sacarino (CVSW 80007 e BRS 506), totalizando 40 parcelas experimentais. Os dados coletados foram submetidos a analise de variância associada ao teste de F a 5% de probabilidade. Para comparacao entre as cultivares utilizou-se o teste de Tukey e para fator doses de torta de filtro a analise de regressao foi empregada. Todas caracteristicas das cultivares de sorgo sacarino estudadas foram influenciadas pela aplicacao de doses de torta de filtro e pela cultivar. A cultivar BRS 506 apresentou melhor desempenho agronomico quando comparada a CVSW 80007. Para todas as caracteristicas estudadas a cultivar BRS 506 apresentou comportamento linear crescente em funcao das doses de torta de filtro aplicadas. Ja a cultivar CVSW 80007 apresentou resposta quadratica para produtividade de massa verde, com dose otima de torta de filtro de 44,74 t ha -1 ,e, tambem para altura de plantas, cuja dose otima foi de 41,25 t ha -1 .

A materia orgânica do solo e considerada um importante indicador de qualidade do solo. E alternativas que incorporam residuos ao solo, como a aplicacao de vinhaca, podem contribuir para uma producao sustentavel. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar os teores de materia orgânica e a acidez ativa em diferentes camadas de um Latossolo cultivado com sorgo sacarino sob niveis de vinhaca. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos casualizados em esquema de parcelas subdivididas 5x2, com tres repeticoes, considerando as parcelas os cinco niveis de vinhaca (0, 25, 50, 75, 100 m 3 ha -1 ) e as subparcelas as duas camadas de solo avaliadas (0-20 e 20-40 cm). As caracteristicas do solo avaliadas foram: materia orgânica do solo (MOS) e acidez ativa medida pelo pH em agua. Para a determinacao da MOS do solo, utilizou-se o teor de carbono encontrado na concentracao de acido sulfurico de 12 mol L -1 , multiplicando-se pelo fator de 1,724 de van Bemmelen. O pH do solo (acidez ativa) reduziu com o aumento das camadas, porem, nao apresentou diferencas em funcao da dose de vinhaca aplicada no solo. O nivel de 100 m 3 ha -1 de vinhaca foi o que promoveu maior aumento do teor de materia orgânica do solo, na camada de 0-20 cm.

A vinhaça é subproduto da produção de etanol que possui uma composição rica em nutrientes como o potássio. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar as características agronômicas e produtivas de cultivares de tomate cereja sob aplicação de níveis de potássio fornecidos via vinhaça e adubação mineral. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial 5x2, sendo 5 níveis de vinhaça: N1 – 100% vinhaça; N2 - 80% vinhaça + 20% da adubação potássica via mineral; N3 - 60% vinhaça + 40% da adubação potássica via mineral; N4 - 40% vinhaça + 60% da adubação potássica via mineral; N5 - 20% vinhaça + 80% da adubação potássica via mineral, e os demais nutrientes foram fornecidos pela vinhaça + adubação mineral e 2 de cultivares de tomate cereja (Carolina e Isla-Pró) com 4 blocos totalizando 40 parcelas. Para análise estatística empregou-se regressão e teste de Tukey a 1 e 5% de significância. A variedade Isla Pró apresentou altura de plantas e diâmetro transversal de frutos de tomate cereja superiores. Já a variedade Carolina foi a que apresentou maior número de flores, cachos e frutos bem como, maior teor de sólidos solúveis totais, independentemente do nível de potássio fornecido via vinhaça. Níveis mais elevados de potássio fornecidos pela vinhaça promoveram maior valor no diâmetro transversal dos frutos e teor de sólidos solúveis totais.

A canola é uma cultura que tem crescido no Brasil, e trata-se de uma fonte produtora de óleo. É uma cultura adaptada a climas frios e o conhecimento sobre o desenvolvimento inicial da canola pode contribuir para um melhor entendimento e estabelecimento destes híbridos em outras regiões. Objetivou-se avaliar o desempenho de plântulas de canola sob variação da profundidade de semeadura e diferentes substratos. Desta forma, foi conduzido um experimento em campo, em ambiente protegido, usando um esquema de parcelas subdivididas 2x2x3, dois substratos (areia e solo), com dois híbridos de canola (Hyola 61 e Hyola 433), em três profundidades de semeadura (1, 2 e 3 cm), com oito repetições, resultando em 96 unidades experimentais. Em cada unidade experimental semearam-se 25 sementes que foram avaliadas por meio da contagem diária da emergência, até o ponto de sua estabilização, que ocorreu no décimo dia. Assim, se iniciaram as avaliações definidas de Comprimento de raiz (CR), Comprimento de plântula inteira (CPI), Altura de plântula (ALT), Plântulas normais (PN), Plântulas anormais (PA), Emergência de plântulas (E), Índice de velocidade de emergência (IVE), Massa fresca de plântulas (MFP) e Massa seca de plântulas (MSP). Observou-se que os híbridos tiveram melhor desempenho em substrato solo, com superioridade do hibrido Hyola 433 na semeadura a 1 cm de profundidade.

To fertirrigation with residual water as to vinasse it can be a viable alternative for nutrition and water supply for Sugarcane. In this sense, or present study as objective, a descriptive analysis on the production of the Sugarcane during 5 harvests in the function of the application of vinasse in a non-Southwest Goiano energy industry. There were pigtails given from the productivity of forty plots different cultivated with sugar cane for 5 years (crops 14/15; 15/16; 16/17; 17/18; 18/19), in each crop were selected four areas with 2nd crops; 3rd; 4th and 5th in the condition of drying and fertigation with vinasse. You are given were analyzed by means of descriptive statistic in the electronic spreadsheet (Excel) with a reliability level of 95%, it was calculated on the average for the cuts and the subsequent calculation or deviation pattern, the were results presented in tables and figures. Comparing the fertirrigated areas with vinasse and dryland, the fertirrigated areas will present higher average producís to the dryland in 7.51; 12.48; 15.29 and 16.43% for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th cut, respectively. Fertigation with vinasse promotes productivity increases for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th cut in relation to the rainfed condition. To sugar cane. The vinasse used via fertigation is recommended to suppress the hydric and nutrient needs, it is essential not to grow sugarcane. La fertilización con aguas residuales como la vinaza puede ser una alternativa viable para la nutrición y el suministro de agua para la caña de azúcar. En este sentido, el presente estudio apunta a un análisis descriptivo sobre la productividad de la caña de azúcar durante 5 cosechas en función de la aplicación de vinaza en una industria azucarera ubicada en el suroeste de Goiás. Se recogieron datos de productividad de cuarenta parcelas diferentes cultivadas con caña de azúcar durante 5 años (14/15; 15/16; 16/17; 17/18; 18/19 cultivos), en cada cultivo se seleccionaron cuatro áreas. 2do cultivos; 3ro; 4 ° y 5 ° en condiciones secas y fertilizadas con vinaza. Los datos se analizaron utilizando estadísticas descriptivas en una hoja de cálculo electrónica (Excel) con un nivel de confiabilidad del 95%, se calculó el promedio de las cosechas y los cortes y la desviación estándar se calculó posteriormente, los resultados se presentaron en tablas y figuras. Comparando las áreas fertilizadas con vinaza y secano, las áreas fertilizadas mostraron una productividad promedio más alta que la de secano en 7.51; 12,48; 15.29 y 16.43% para el 2 °, 3 °, 4 ° y 5 ° corte, respectivamente. La fertirrigación con vinaza promueve aumentos de productividad para el 2 °, 3 °, 4 ° y 5 ° corte en relación con la condición de secano. Caña de azúcar La vinaza utilizada a través de la fertirrigación se recomienda para suministrar el agua y los requisitos de nutrientes esenciales en el cultivo de la caña de azúcar. A fertirrigação com água residuária como a vinhaça pode ser uma alternativa viável para a nutrição e fornecimento de água para a cana-de-açúcar. Nesse sentido, o presente estudo tem como objetivo uma análise descritiva sobre a produtividade da cana-de-açúcar durante 5 safras em função da aplicação de vinhaça em uma indústria sucroenergética localizada no Sudoeste Goiano. Foram coletados dados de produtividade de quarenta talhões distintos cultivados com cana-de-açúcar durante 5 anos (safras 14/15; 15/16; 16/17; 17/18; 18/19), em cada safra foram selecionadas quatro áreas com cultivos de 2°; 3°; 4° e 5° em condição de sequeiro e fertirrigado com vinhaça. Os dados foram analisados por meio de estatística descritiva em planilha eletrônica (Excel) com nível de confiabilidade de 95%, foi calculada a média para as safras e os cortes e posteriormente calculado o desvio padrão, os resultados foram apresentados em tabelas e figuras. Comparando as áreas fertirrigadas com vinhaça e sequeiro, as áreas fertirrigadas apresentaram produtividades médias superiores à de sequeiro em 7,51; 12,48; 15,29 e 16,43% para o 2°, 3°, 4° e 5° corte, respectivamente. A fertirrigação com vinhaça promove incrementos de produtividade para o 2°, 3°, 4° e 5° corte em relação à condição de sequeiro. A vinhaça utilizada via fertirrigação é recomendada para suprir as necessidades hídricas e de nutrientes essenciais no cultivo de cana-de-açúcar.

Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a dinâmica dos fluxos de óxido nitroso (N2O) em solo sob pastagem, em sistema de integração lavoura-pecuária, e sob cerrado nativo usado como referência, bem como identificar os atributos físicos e químicos do solo que influenciam esses fluxos. O estudo foi realizado na Fazenda Capivara, da Embrapa Arroz e Feijão, de 5 de fevereiro a 30 de setembro de 2013. As amostragens de gás foram realizadas com uso de câmaras estáticas manuais. O solo sob pastagem apresentou os maiores fluxos de N2O, com média de 14,12 ng m-2 s-1. Essa área também apresentou maior espaço poroso preenchido por água (EPPA), que, associado à temperatura e ao teor de nitrato no solo, influenciou a produção de N2O. Na época chuvosa, os fluxos apresentaram correlação positiva com o EPPA do solo e, na época seca, com seu teor de amônio e nitrato. A emissão total de N2O na área da pastagem foi de 1.644,19 gha1. No cerrado nativo, não houve emissão de N2O do solo para a atmosfera. Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate the dynamics of nitrous oxide (N2O) fluxes in a soil under pasture, in an integrated crop-livestock system, and in native cerrado as a reference, besides identifying the physical and chemical soil properties that affect the fluxes. The study was conducted at Fazenda Capivara of Embrapa Arroz e Feijão, in the state of Goiás, Brazil, between February 5 and September 30, 2013. Gas sampling was performed using manual static chambers. The soil under pasture showed the highest N2O fluxes with average of 14.12 ng m-2 s-1. This area also showed greater water-filled pore space (WFPS), which, associated with soil temperature and nitrate content in the soil affected the production of N2O. In the rainy season, fluxes showed positive correlation with soil WFPS, and, in the dry season, they were correlated with soil contents of ammonium and nitrate. The total N2O emission in the pasture area was 1,644.19 g ha-1. In native cerrado, there was no soil-N2O emission to the atmosphere.

espanolRESUMEN El estudio de las caracteristicas mecanicas de los productos agricolas es importante para que los equipos puedan desarrollarse y lograr la maxima eficiencia sin comprometer la calidad final de los alimentos. Las grietas y roturas de las semillas se producen cuando estan expuestas a tensiones que exceden la resistencia del material. El objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar algunas pro piedades mecanicas de las semillas de sorgo de sacarina (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) con diferentes contenidos de humedad. Las semillas se cosecharon en el municipio de Santa Helena - GO, Brasil, y presentaron un contenido de humedad inicial de 0.307 base seca (b.s.). Para cada contenido de humedad obtenido (0,307; 0,258; 0,212; 0,170; 0,130 y 0,093 b.s.), las muestras fueron homogeneizadas y luego analizadas. Las pruebas de compresion uniaxial se realizaron en una muestra de 15 semillas para cada contenido de humedad. Para esta determinacion se utilizo la maquina de prueba universal Analizador de textura TA Hdi, con una celda de carga de compresion de 250 N. Nuestros resultados evidenciaron que la fuerza de compresion necesaria para deformar las semillas de sorgo disminuyo con el aumento del contenido de humedad, mientras que los valores del modulo de deformidad proporcional se incrementaron con la reduccion tanto del contenido de humedad como de la deformacion. Ademas, la reduccion del contenido de humedad aumento la fuerza requerida para romper las semillas. EnglishABSTRACT Study of the mechanical characteristics of agricultural products is crucial to the development of equipment that can achieve the maximum efficiency without compromising the final product quality. Seeds crack and break when exposed to stresses that exceed their resistance to rupture. In this study, we aim to assess the mechanical properties of saccharine sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) seeds at different moisture contents. The seeds were harvested in the municipality of Santa Helena - GO, Brazil and indicated an initial moisture content of 0.307 (d.b.). For each moisture content obtained (0.307, 0.258, 0.212, 0.170, 0.130, and 0.093 d.b.), samples were homogenized and subsequently analyzed. Compressive tests were performed through uniaxial tests in a sample of 15 seeds for each moisture content. In these tests, the "TA Hdi Texture Analyzer" universal testing machine was used, with a 250-N compression load cell. Our results indicated that the compressive force required to deform saccharine sorghum seeds decreased with increasing moisture content, whereas values of proportional modulus of deformity increased with both reduced moisture content and deformation. In addition, the reduction in moisture content caused an increase in the force required to rupture the seeds.

The cultivation of sorghum for silage production has gained more space each year because of its satisfactory nutritional characteristics, resistance to water deficit and adaptability to various types of soil. Thus, the use of sorghum silage has been an alternative for periods of low forage production, providing quality food for ruminants. In this context, the objective was to evaluate the fermentation parameters and quality of sweet and biomass sorghum silages added with doses of vinasse. The experiment was a 2 x 5 factorial completely randomized design with three replications of two sorghum species (sweet and biomass) and five doses of vinasse applied to the soil: 0; 50; 100; 150 and 200 m3 ha-1, totaling 30 experimental silos. For silage, sorghum species were harvested in the 105-day cycle, with 30.5 and 32.3 g kg-1 dry matter, for biomass and sweet sorghum, respectively. The results showed that the biomass sorghum silage showed higher dry mass production. However, the sweet sorghum silage presented a lower buffering capacity, NH3-N, and higher concentration of lactic acid. Doses of vinasse increased the content of crude protein, in vitro digestibility of dry matter and ether extract and reduced fiber fractions in both sorghum species, showing that both species can be used for silage production. Vinasse is a promising alternative to organic fertilizer, since the use of 200 m3 ha-1 positively influenced the fermentation parameters and nutritional value of the sorghum silages.

A fertirrigação com água residuária como a vinhaça pode ser uma alternativa viável para a nutrição e fornecimento de água para a cana-de-açúcar. Nesse sentido, o presente estudo tem como objetivo uma análise descritiva sobre a produtividade da cana-de-açúcar durante 5 safras em função da aplicação de vinhaça em uma indústria sucroenergética localizada no Sudoeste Goiano. Foram coletados dados de produtividade de quarenta talhões distintos cultivados com cana-de-açúcar durante 5 anos (safras 14/15; 15/16; 16/17; 17/18; 18/19), em cada safra foram selecionadas quatro áreas com cultivos de 2°; 3°; 4° e 5° em condição de sequeiro e fertirrigado com vinhaça. The objective of this work was to measure the fluxes of N2O‑N and NH3‑N throughout the growing season of irrigated common‑bean (Phaseolus vulgaris), as affected by mulching and mineral fertilization. Fluxes of N2O‑N and NH3‑N were evaluated in areas with or without Congo signal grass mulching (Urochloa ruziziensis) or mineral fertilization. Fluxes of N were also measured in a native Cerrado area, which served as reference. Total N2O‑N and NH3‑N emissions were positively related to the increasing concentrations of moisture, ammonium, and nitrate in the crop system, within 0.5 m soil depth. Carbon content in the substrate and microbial biomass within 0.1 m soil depth were favoured by Congo signal grass and related to higher emissions of N2O‑N, regardless of N fertilization. Emission factors (N losses from the applied mineral nitrogen) for N2O‑N (0.01-0.02%) and NH3‑N (0.3-0.6%) were lower than the default value recognized by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Mulch of Congo signal grass benefits N2O‑N emission regardless of N fertilization. O objetivo deste trabalho foi medir os fluxos de N2O‑N e NH3‑N, ao longo de uma safra de feijoeiro irrigado (Phaseolus vulgaris), influenciados pelo uso ou não de cobertura morta e fertilização mineral. Os fluxos de N2O‑N e NH3‑N foram avaliados em áreas com ou sem cobertura de braquiária (Urochloa ruziziensis) ou fertilização mineral. Os fluxos de N também foram medidos em uma área nativa de Cerrado, a qual serviu como referência. As emissões de N2O‑N and NH3‑N foram positivamente relacionadas ao aumento da umidade e das concentrações de amônio e nitrato na área cultivada, na camada até 0,5 m de profundidade do solo. O conteúdo de C no substrato e a atividade microbiana na camada até 0,1 m de profundidade do solo foram favorecidos pela presença da palhada de braquiária e estiveram relacionadas com maiores emissões de N2O‑N, independentemente da fertilização nitrogenada. Os fatores de emissão (perdas de N a partir do nitrogênio mineral adicionado) para N2O‑N (0,01-0,02%) e NH3‑N (0,3-0,6%) foram menores do que o valor estabelecido pelo Painel Intergovernamental de Mudanças Climáticas. A cobertura com braquiária aumenta a emissão de N2O‑N, independentemente da fertilização com nitrogênio.

The use of irrigation has expanded and favored agricultural productivity in recent years. The mapping through remote sensing has contributed to the monitoring of irrigated areas. In this sense, the objective of this study was to evaluate the central pivotal evolution in terms of location by municipalities, micro basins, soils and slope in the Goian tributary watershed of the Araguaia River State of Goiás. Data were available between 2000 and 2016. Irrigated areas were surveyed through the database available in the Geographical Information System of the State of Goiás (SGEI). The vector and raster data were manipulated using the Qgis v software. 2.18.26 (QGIS Development, 2019). The pivots were counted through the statistical function of the software. From the shape SGEI available in the soil map of classes is generated by categorizes tion of soil types. The declivity map was generated from raster files acquired through the Brazilian Geo morphological Database (INPE, 2017). The slope classes (%) were extracted with slope tool. There is an increase of more than 95% in the number of pivots and irrigated area between the years 2000 and 2016. The central pivots are more concentrated in the central region of the Red and Red-Light basins. The highest concentration of central pivots occurred in the municipality of Jussara. The pivots are located predominantly in an Oxisol area with a slope of 3 to 13%.

Nitrogen fertilization and water supply are determinant factors for production and physical-chemical quality of cherry tomato. The objective of this study is to evaluate the productivity and quality of cherry tomatoes, cultivar Carolina, produced under different irrigation depth and nitrogen treatments. The experiment was conducted in a protected environment in randomized blocks and a 5 × 3 factorial design with three replications. The treatments were integrated by the combination of five irrigation depth consisting of 50, 75, 100, 125 and 150% of replacement of the reference evapotranspiration (ETo), and three nitrogen treatments fertilization (common urea, urea with urease inhibitor and without the application of nitrogen). The productive and qualitative characteristics of tomato fruits were evaluated. Productivity was better responsive with the 125% ETo depth. The 100% ETo depth provided the highest titratable acidity. Nitrogen treatments did not promote differences in productivity and quality of tomatoes.

Soil aggregation and organic carbon accumulation are two intrinsically linked phenomena. Soils under natural vegetation and conservation tillage systems generally have higher aggregation indices and total organic carbon (TOC) stocks in the surface layers than soils under conventional management (ploughing). From the point of view of the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2), C stabilization and loss in the surface layer is relevant. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of no-tillage (NT) and conventional tillage (CT) on TOC stabilization and loss through soil aggregation in the topsoil. Soil aggregation, TOC stocks, and fluxes of CO2 of samples from a Rhodic Ferralsol under NT and CT in a long-term field experiment in Southern Brazil were measured. A natural forest site was also evaluated as reference to the management sites. Emissões antrópicas de gases de efeito estufa no Brasil podem ser provenientes de emissões de óxido nitroso (N2O) dos dejetos depositados em pastagens, e os microrganismos são os principais responsáveis pelas transformações do nitrogênio no solo. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o impacto das excretas bovinas sobre os atributos microbiológicos do solo e as perdas gasosas de nitrogênio em áreas de pastagens sob Integração Lavoura-Pecuária (iLP) em Cerrado. Foram estabelecidas 48 parcelas, em um delineamento experimental de quatro blocos casualizados num esquema de parcelas sub-subdivididas, com três tratamentos (urina, fezes e controle); duas áreas de pastagem (Área 1- pastagem de três anos de Urochloa ruziziensis e Área 2 - pastagem de um ano de Urochloa. brizantha cv. Piatã), duas épocas de aplicação das excretas (seca e chuvosa), em dois anos de aplicações. Nas câmaras com excretas, foram aplicados 0,5 L de urina e 2 kg de fezes, os quais foram distribuídos uniformemente no interior das parcelas. As amostragens de gás foram feitas pelo método da câmara estática fechada. As avaliações ocorreram em sete dias consecutivos após a aplicação das excretas, posteriormente duas vezes por semana, e por fim quinzenalmente, durante 502 dias consecutivos no período seco e 388 durante o período chuvoso. Concomitantemente realizou-se amostragem de solo para verificação do espaço poroso saturado por água (EPSA), teores de nitrato e amônio no solo, e volatilização de amônia (NH3). Para a determinação dos atributos microbiológicos foram coletadas amostras de solo trinta dias após a aplicação das excretas, das quais determinou-se o carbono e nitrogênio da biomassa microbiana (CBM e NBM), carbono (CT) e nitrogênio total (NT), respiração basal, relação NBM:NT, quociente microbiano (CBM:CT) e quociente metabólico (qCO2). Os dados foram submetidos à análise de variância e as médias comparadas pelo teste de Tukey a 5% de probabilidade. A deposição de excretas em pastagens sob iLP aumentou sensivelmente os fluxos de N2O do solo e de NH3 volatilizada, comparado ao controle. Na época seca, os fluxos de óxido nitroso estão associados à maior disponibilidade de amônio. Já na época chuvosa estes fluxos estão associados à disponibilidade de nitrato no solo e EPSA. Áreas com o componente pastagem mais recente no sistema iLP apresentam maiores perdas por volatilização de NH3 e menores de N2O quando a fonte de N é a urina bovina, independente da época do ano. Os maiores fatores de emissão de N2O são observados para a urina (0,32%) e na época chuvosa do ano (0,36%), porém estão bem abaixo do indicado pelo IPCC. As fezes de bovinos em áreas de pastagens sob iLP têm maior efeito sob os atributos microbiológicas do solo que a urina, quando estas são avaliadas trinta dias após a aplicação. Os atributos microbiológicos do solo tendem a aumentar gradualmente com o desenvolvimento do componente pastagem do sistema de iLP, associada à aplicações de excretas bovinas. Anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases in Brazil can be derived from nitrous oxide (N2O) of waste deposited in pastures, and microorganisms are the main responsible for the nitrogen transformations in soil. The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of bovine excretas on microbiological soil properties and gaseous nitrogen losses in pastures under Crop-Livestock Integration (iCL) in the Cerrado. Fourty eight plots were established in four randomized complete block in a split-plot design with three treatments (urine, feces and control), two areas with pastures (Área 1 - Three years of pasture with Urochloa. ruziziensis e Área 2 – One years of pasture with Urochloa. brizantha cv. Piatã), two periods of excreta application (dry and wet seasons) repeated in time (two years of applications). For cameras with excretas, 0.5L of urine and 2 kg of faeces were applied, which were uniformly distributed inside the plots. The gas samples were taken by the method closed static chambers. Assessments were made in seven consecutive days after the application of excretas, then twice a week, and finally every fortnightly during 502 consecutive days during the dry season and 388 during the rainy season. Concurrently, soil sampling was carried out to verify the water filled pore space (WFPS), nitrate and ammonium concentrations and ammonia volatilization emissions (NH3). Soil samples were collected at thirty days after the application of excretas to determine the microbiological properties which were: microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen (MBC and MBN), total carbon (TC) and soil nitrogen (TN), basal respiration, ratio MBN:TN, microbial quocient (MBC:TC) and microbial metabolic quocient (MBC:TC). Data were subjected to analysis of variance and means were compared by Tukey test at 5% probability. The disposal of excretas in pastures under iCL significantly increased the flow of nitrous oxide in the soil and volatilized ammonia, compared to the control. In the dry season, the nitrous oxide flows are associated with greater ammonium availability. In the rainy season these flows are associated with the availability of nitrate in the soil and WFPS. Areas with the latest pasture component in the iCL system have higher losses by volatilization of NH3 and lower losses of N2O when the N source is cattle urine, regardless of the period of year. The largest nitrous oxide emission factors were obtained for urine (0.32%) and during the rainy season (0.36%), but these values are lower than those indicated by the IPCC. The bovine feces of iCL under pasture areas have greater effect on the microbiological soil properties than urine when they are evaluated at thirty days after the application. Microbiological soil attributes tend to gradually increase with the development of the pasture under iCL system, related to the bovine excreta applications.

The authors report a case of subcutaneous mucormycosis in a diabetic patient with verrucous lesions in the fourth finger of the right hand. Initially diagnosed as a fixed cutaneous sporotrichosis case, success was obtained with the use of potassium iodide with healing of the lesion in a period of nearly 5 months. At present the patient remains under clinical observation with no treatment or relapse.

Two cases of cutaneous and ungual phaeohyphomycosis caused by species of Chaetomium are reported. The patients showed no clinical signs of immunodeficiency. In Case 1 there was a small, ulcerated, crusted lesion on the right forearm. Direct microscopical examination of material from this lesion showed light-brown hyphae with thick-walled cells. The fungus isolated was identified as Chaetomium globosum. Case 2 had lesions of the fingernails. Direct microscopy showed dematiaceous septate hyphae in the nail. The isolate from the nails was identified as Chaetomium perpulchrum. Identification of the fungi was based on the classification of Ames (1963) as adapted by Cooke (1986). Such infections due to Chaetomium species are rare.
