This paper aims to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the link between urban planning practices and public health. A triangulated study was conducted to gain a comprehensive understanding of the topic. The first phase consisted of semi-structured interviews with health and urban planning experts, which were analyzed with the aid of Artificial Intelligence tools. The second phase involved an on-site investigation in the city of Algiers, including a survey, site visits, and a thorough analysis of the master plan for land use and urban planning. The findings emphasize the critical importance of a comprehensive health-centric approach to city design, improved governance and management practices, community involvement, and political commitment to prioritize health in urban planning. Furthermore, the results proved a strong correlation between prioritizing public health in urban planning practices and residents’ satisfaction with the city’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In conclusion, it is necessary to consider public health as a priority in urban planning practices and as a need for all stakeholders to work towards a healthier and more equitable urban environment.

The objective of this research is to highlight the factors driving the structural and behavioural contingencies to the adoption of dashboards by small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Cameroonian context. Using data collected from 314 SMEs, we conducted an exploratory analysis, in order to investigate the factors that could have an influence on the use of dashboards and a multiple correspondence factorial analysis in order to identify the characteristics of SMEs using dashboards. On the other hand, a binary logistic regression was done to unveil the factors that stand behind the usage of dashboards in Cameroonian SMEs. Our findings indicate that the formal nature of the SME, the power delegation, the presence of an experienced leader, the pressure of foreign competition, the age of the company, the use of follow-up software in organizational processes and the implementation of a system to reward the employees when they achieve positive results, are the factors that enable the adoption of the dashboard.

The research aims to develop and to test a conceptual model to measure corporate reputation and assesses its impact on altering customers' normal behaviour. The findings add to the existing literature by empirically demonstrating that corporate reputation should be interpreted as a reflective construct that can be measured by the means of 25 items, grouped in seven major factors. The analysis validated a medium‐to‐high impact of reputation on customers' loyalty, word‐of‐mouth, and adoption of new product or service introductions, while the desire to pay a premium price was rejected. This study explains why executive managers should embrace corporate reputation as an imperative for the company's efforts to influence customers' behaviours and ultimately to outpace competitors. It also provides the executive management with an actionable tool to map out the corporate issues that need to be addressed and proved that companies can shorten the path to purchase by means of reputation, without a huge cost.

Our study purpose is to analyze the tobacco industry’s sustainable practices by investigating how and when green human resources management (GHRM) practices influence the development of the organizational citizenship behavior for the environment (OCBE) at the individual level. Therefore, we focus on OCBE as a mediation mechanism (how) and green culture enablers as a serial mediation (when) for the nexuses between GRHM, OCBE, and organizational performance (OP). The employee behavior requires the support of managers (leadership), who serve as enablers to ensure long-term goals and increase organizational resources. Data from 410 respondents in the tobacco industry in Pakistan were analyzed using descriptive analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and the PLS-SEM model. Our results proved that GHRM significantly increased OP. In practice, our findings are helpful for managers as guidelines for the decision-making process related to improving the organizational culture and employee green behavior to improve sustainability in the tobacco industry.

The COVID-19 pandemic has strongly affected tourism and leisure activities worldwide, especially in the hospitality and tourism sectors. Within this context, this study aimed to evaluate the impact of the pandemic on the future attractiveness of the hospitality industry (HI) to young people. The conceptual model underpinning the empirical research proposes a direct relationship between job attractiveness and the spirit of youth adventure. Findings prove that young people are enthusiastic about working in the HI because they can easily practice their creative ideas. Communicating with other people and dealing with clients’ complaints is challenging for them in the pandemic crisis created by COVID-19. The results are of interest to policymakers in terms of suggestions on how to transform the challenges into opportunities by using the constraints imposed by the pandemic crisis that have limited the socialisation between people, enhancing the creativity of young people, and motivating them to work in the HI. Moreover, our research provides managers and other decisionmakers with some motivational factors to increase the attractiveness of their companies to young people and suggestions helpful to scholars involved in HI research to cultivate resilience capabilities by giving them inherent skills.

The paper aims to analyze the digital transformation process’s defining elements in the COVID-19 crisis. Starting from our main objective, which consists of a critical analysis of the defining elements of the digital transformation process in the conditions of the COVID-19 crisis, we formulate the following specific objectives: to analyze the contribution of external organizational factors to put into practice the new opportunities created by the organization’s digital transformation; to evaluate the impact of digital competencies on the digital transformation of organizations; and to analyze the role of new technologies in developing digital competencies. We used the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and the bootstrapped method to evaluate the model fit, and the model was tested by SmartPLS4 software. Our research is based on information from 203 employees with authority for decision making about the digital transformation strategy in their organizations undergoing a digital transformation process. Our findings revealed that organizations, regardless of size, profile, or field of activity, are affected by changes induced by new technologies and the crisis generated by COVID-19. Therefore, formulating a digital transformation strategy must aim to minimize the risks of obsolescence and maximize the results from exploiting new digital resources. However, our results do not prove that COVID-19 crises directly and positively influence the development of digital competencies. This leads us to conclude that developing these competencies is a continuous process unaffected by disruptive factors such as crises. Instead, the development of digital competencies is influenced by new technologies. Therefore, the COVID-19 crisis directly and positively influences organizations’ developing and implementing a digital transformation strategy and new technologies. The theoretical contribution of our research consists of an explanation of the role of perturbator factors, such as the crisis generated by COVID-19, in developing digital competencies and improving digital transformation. The practical contributions are dedicated to managers that should have a different approach to the negative phenomena that will be considered catalytic factors of the digital transformation and disruptive factors of the organizational climate.

The aim of the paper is to identify a set of the key performance indicators (KPIs) in order to provide managers and employees from the healthcare system with recommendations for evaluating, monitoring, and controlling the critical factors that influence the performance of the healthcare sector in Algeria during a pandemic crisis. During February&ndash, August 2020, a cross-sectional survey design was administrated to medical employees from hospitals situated in the northeastern part of Algeria. Our findings proved that the four groups of KPIs correlate to each other, and during this period, the triple relationship among human factor-technology-medication plays a decisive role in reducing the pressure on the medical system and overcoming the crisis. In order to increase the efficiency of the decision-making process, a hierarchy of KPIs is recommended in terms of their impact on the performance of medical staff. The practical importance of our research consists in ranking KPIs on four clusters that support managers to focus on both the human factor (clinical errors, infection rate, and medication errors) and the technical elements of maximum importance (laboratory test time, location of the facility, and sufficient air).

The main purpose of this study is to assess the impact that food delivery mobile applications have on consumers' behaviour in the context of the changes generated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, we aimed to bridge the gap in the literature and practice by studying intrinsic and extrinsic variables that affect 18–50+ years old consumers' decision process. The data set was analysed using the Structural Equation Modelling Part Least Square model because this model has no limitations to integrating more variables into a path model. From a managerial perspective, our results show that food delivery companies should implement customer loyalty strategies, as the users' perceived risk of changing the online food supplier is high. The high degree of visibility of the food delivery applications is positively reflected in the consumers' empathy level and loyalty. Consumer loyalty is also based on the pricing strategy and time saving associated with using this type of applications. The safety value and accessibility represent both consumers' and organisations’ priorities that underline the importance of the strategies of reducing the perceived risks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our research offers to researchers and practitioners a starting point for their future activities. It can help them make decisions considering both periods (during a crisis as generated by pandemic crisis and post-crisis as new normality).

The paper aims to analyze the impact of public investments generated by implementing the Emerging Senegal Plan (ESP) on economic growth and gender inequalities observed in the labor market in Senegal. A dynamic computable general equilibrium modeling was carried out for this purpose using a social accounting matrix (SAM) based on an extensive segmentation of the labor market according to gender and socio-professional category. The results prove that the investments made in priority market sectors led, overall, to a good trajectory of economic growth. Moreover, job creation followed the expansion of sectors of the economy, which increased their demand for labor because of the capital increase. In conclusion, there is a strong demand for qualified women (senior executives and middle executives). We recommend considering positive discrimination in favor of women by implementing public employment programs and the importance of recovery sectors affected by the pandemic.

The aim of this research is to analyse the way young people perceive the food waste process, as well as the determinants and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the responsible behaviour of young people towards food waste. The research design involves a study on a sample of 375 students from Romanian universities and the development and validation of a model using SEM-PLS. Our findings show that the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has led to more people exhibiting food waste reduction behaviour, an increased awareness for the ethics of food waste among young people, and increased awareness of the environmental consequences of food waste. The limits of the paper refer to non-probability sampling technique and sampling structure that is limited to a single country. The practical implications of the study highlight that this pandemic is a good moment to raise awareness among young people about food waste and we discuss possible strategies on this matter. Our research offers a new perspective on food waste in the conditions of current health crisis, and possible anticipated economic recession, in the future.

L’objectif de notre article est d’aborder d’une maniere critique la relation changement-transformation dans l’environnement universitaire roumain et d’analyser le niveau d’optimisation des methodes et des outils de gestion dans le contexte national actuel.Notre etude consiste dans une recherche qualitative menee au sein de la communaute academique de l’Universite de Craiova, tant au niveau des departements qu’au niveau du leadership. Le but de cette approche est de determiner comment les enseignants percoivent, acceptent et soutiennent la transformation. Cette approche permet egalement d’elaborer une serie de recommandations pour rendre plus efficace la relation changement-transformation dans l’environnement universitaire roumain qui apparemment semble souffrir d’un blocage intrinseque.La double approche de la relation changement-transformation renvoie, d’une part, a l’analyse critique des attitudes du personnel enseignant et des fonctions dirigeantes envers ce processus et, d’autre part, a l’evaluation des outils de gestion que l’universite utilise dans ce processus.Les resultats de notre recherche indiquent que l’absence d’une vision integrative de la relation entre le changement et la transformation a des effets negatifs sur les attitudes et les comportements des enseignants. Le manque de direction et des directives pour la transformation au niveau universitaire a de multiples causes a la fois legislatives et organisationnelles. Cette carence a un impact negatif sur la capacite de transformation de l’universite et sur la motivation intrinseque des enseignants.Le principal inconvenient de notre etude est que la recherche a ete menee exclusivement dans une universite roumaine. En revanche, cela ne constitue pas un obstacle a l’extrapolation des resultats de la recherche a l’ensemble de l’environnement academique roumain. Nous avons utilise une approche integrative de deux systemes, en prenant en consideration les elements positifs du passe (les elements du changement) et les elements innovants du futur (elements de transformation).L’originalite et la valeur de notre etude resident dans l’approche critique du processus de changement-transformation, il constitue une contribution a la litterature consacree au sujet. Cette etude est completee par les recommandations et les trajectoires d’action pour comprendre le processus de changement et integrer la transformation dans la strategie generale de l’universite.

The aim of this article is to investigate the relationship between the budget related to corporate social responsibility (CSR), Innovation and Training, defined as sustainable factors, and the financial results of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). The investigation is made by analysing the financial results from a sample of 200 SMEs from the South-West Region of Romania. The findings prove that SMEs can use training and innovation to improve the impact of CSR on their sustainability with a focus on positive financial indicators. The findings prove that corporate social responsibility (CSRBi), innovation (InnovBi), and training (TrainingBi) as sustainable factors are significantly and positively correlated with the following indicators: profit (Profiti), profit per employee (ProfitEi) and total expenditure (Expensesi), and it is negatively correlated with debt ratio (DebtRi).

This study assesses the efficiency of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) regional stock exchange using daily data on its seven (7) sectoral indices from December 31, 2013, to January 4, 2019. To this end, we analyze the market structure and calculate the generalized Hurst index by using the discrete wavelet transformation (DWT) and wavelet leader transformation (WLT) approaches. Our conclusions can be summarized as follows: first, this study highlights the multifractal nature of the WAEMU stock market. Second, the Hurst generalized index reveals a persistent or nonpersistent process depending on the sector, according to the q chosen or the method used (DWT or WLT). The research objectives of the article consist in the identification of the strategic elements which contribute to the transformation of TrU into SmU and of the characteristics of e-learning Tesys platform which improve the performances of the students and professors. In our research we have started from the premises that smart technology is a strategic tool for the development of critical thinking and the Smart curricula and the Smart pedagogy have to be created in order to develop the critical thinking for both students and professors. Our findings revealed that INCESA HUB has the possibility to optimize learning process and to transform the University of Craiova into a modern and SmU. The e-learning Tesys platform plays a very important role, because, through its flexibility, it is able to fulfil the Smart mission of SmU. Finally, we arrived at the conclusion that the solution resides in the involvement of all stakeholders at intern, local, national and international level in order to acquire and share the knowledge.

Taking into account that it is in the nature of the modern corporat ion that risks are distributed over several agents, we discuss in this paper the organisational behaviour as it results from such dispersal of responsibilities for both the principal and the agent. We explore the hypothesis that dispersal of responsibilities could be the result or a cause of a lack of consensus between the principal and the agent. Our findings suggest that a dispersal of responsibilities has a negative impact on the principal-agent relationship and that it represents a foundation for theoretical and empirical approaches to organisational behaviour. We find that agent perceptions of a dispersal of responsibilities are linked to his/her resistance to the principal’s interests, but this relationship is deeper than was suggested by previous research. However, if the sharing of responsibilities does not run parallel to that, we may have as a result what we call an agency problem.
