- Abstract
Effect of Simvastatin on lipid metabolism, platelet aggregation properties and vasoactive eicosanoids content in blood plasma of patients with hypercholesterinemia (dislipoproteinemia II-A, II-B, and IV type) has been studied by the authors. 49 patients with coronary heart disease, stable angina of effort, II-III functional classes by NYHA have been observed. 57.1% of the patients had normal cholesterol levels (less 200 mg/dl) at the end of the therapy, 37.6% of the patients had reached border levels of cholesterol in their blood serum (200 to 240 mg/dl). It was established that beneficial effect of Simvastatin is associated not only with its hypolipidemic activity but also with pleothropic effect of the medication. Positive shifts in morphofunctional state and thrombocytes aggregation indexes have been noted in the process of the treatment.
