Information and communication technology have revolutionised many aspects of human interactions. One area which has received profound transformation is education and learning. Although technology-enhanced learning has widened access, and improved performance and quality; little has been achieved in many developing countries. The study is aimed at examining the predictors of readiness to accept online learning methods among faculty members (lecturers) in higher education institutions in Nigeria. Following the literature reviews, five factors (online learning attitude, online learning self-efficacy, management support, online content readiness and perceived benefit) were identified as the possible predictors of readiness to accept the online learning method. Using a sample of 277 valid respondents selected through proportional stratified sampling in 3 higher education institutions, it was found that online learning self-efficacy, management support, online content readiness and perceived benefit had statistically significant effects on readiness to accept online learning platforms among faculty members. Online learning attitude has no statistically significant effect on readiness to accept online learning methods. The study implies that faculty members (lecturers) who are confident in their ability to use the online learning method together with management support, institution E-content readiness and perception of benefit would accept the online learning method in teaching and learning.

This is a preliminary research to obtain information to formulate a problem statement for an overall study of the embedding of soft skills in the program courses in higher learning institutions. This research was conducted in the form of single case and multi-case studies. The research data was attained through mixed methods; the quantitative method by utilizing questionnaires and the qualitative method utilizing open-ended questionnaires. Qualitative data were used as supporting data in this research. This research sought to study two main issues; the readiness of lecturers and problems encountered in embedding soft skills into teachers' bachelor's degree courses in the institutes of teacher education in Malaysia. Quantitative data was processed manually to show frequency, while qualitative data was processed according to themes. Research findings indicated that a majority of lecturers are interested and ready to embed soft skills in the core courses. However, lecturers lamented about problems encountered in embedding soft skills in teaching and learning of courses even though the curriculum of the programs have been designed holistically to fulfill the needs to develop soft skills within trainee teachers.

Supervision has become a highlight in higher education in recent years. While striving for the quality of education, the stress in research supervision has become dominant. Excellent research can contribute to the prominent of institutions' image. This paper accumulates the models from expert scholars in students' development regarding supervision issue. The models have their own functions and strengths. This can be proved by revising at the thorough implementation. Most supervision approaches and models have mutual aptitude: (1) The relationship establishment that was built on good communication, expectation and confidentiality; (2)The formulation of student-based, agreed upon aims and outputs; and (3)A systematic training and learning process in relation to the goals. This paper will discuss appropriate models that can be studied in student development.

In the philosophical sense, learning should be enjoyable, fun, dynamic and engaging with access of a lot of sources. While philosophical perspective in the context of this writing is regarded as integral to reflecting the quality of learning in connection to the listening process, it is also an inclination of practice with deep understanding without limitation on the aspect of the learning process itself. The question of traditional classroom and online learning is important in the learning process. To produce high achievers in education, it is important to find out the best type of learning that we can provide for students. It differed on the type of strategy the higher learning institution students used but the frequency of applying the strategy between the groups of traditional classroom and of online learning are the same. The result showed that students that subscribed to traditional classroom performed better than those who subscribed to online learning. This could be due to the fact that less instruction was provided by the teacher in online learning consequently causing the inability within students to perform.

It is important to consider the concepts of traditional classroom and online learning in evaluating effective learning and listening conducted in higher learning institutions. To reach the depth of both concepts, one should understand them in the philosophical point of view. Both traditional classroom and online learning play a role in the learning process. It was investigated by many researchers before and important findings had been revealed. Both play different roles. There are researchers who came out with blended learning as the solution. However, many other factors need to be considered. This study has defined several objectives to investigate the type of learning that can provide high achievement within the students and to determine whether there is any significant difference in metacognitive awareness listening strategies students used in learning listening online and learning listening in a traditional classroom. This study was conducted in Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), a local university in Negeri Sembilan. This university is located in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. 44 students were selected (22 in control group, 22 in experimental group) from the Syariah and Law Faculty as participants of the research. From the pre-test, the student's level of proficiency was the same. After determining on what type of instruments and data analysis procedure to be used, the researcher compared the data using t-test. In listening strategies, based on the findings, there is no significant difference between two groups of approach. The students use the same strategy either online classroom or traditional classroom. It differs on the type of strategy used, but the frequency of applying the strategy between two groups is the same. Because the result showed that traditional classroom performed better result than online, it might have been something wrong with the courseware used by the teacher. The lack of instruction provided by the teacher might be why the students in online learning could not perform in the listening task.

The dynamic changes in today's world have made countries of the world masters of their own destinies. In this light, it has become noted today that "the affluence or penury of nations depends largely on the quality of higher education". This is informed by the fact that higher education systems of a nation is the "machinery of manpower creation" of the nation and as a result nations have to embrace quality on a continuous basis to be able to be in touch with the realities of today's change in technological, sociological and economical dimensions. Quality higher education system will produce quality skills and quality human capacity. Therefore, in adjustment to needs for development countries such as Nigeria should embrace and implement Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), Total Quality Management (TQM) in the universities and Higher Education administration for the purpose of all-round Human Resource Development. TQM and CQI implementation in the university system will go a long way in expanding the skills and capacity of the academic staffs and consequently that of the students. In effect, there will be increase in Human Capital Development across the nation and the attendant economic growth, technological growth, innovation and general Human Resource Development towards National Development. Thus, this article reviewed the literatures on quality administration and management in higher education in Nigeria with the aims of highlighting the implication of human resource development.

Research and supervision have become a vital process in the successful of postgraduate studies. Building an academic career path after Higher National Degree or Bachelor Degree needs intensive training and preparation. This culminates in writing of thesis or dissertation. In this process, the supervisor is designated to facilitate the student's research development based on good resources offered by the institution. At this stage, one of the most common complaints from research students concerns infrequent or erratic contact with supervisors, who may be too busy with administrative or teaching responsibilities, have too many students or be away from the university too often. The main objective of this paper is to expose what are postgraduate students' problems in research and supervision. The paper's thrust will be to highlight the importance of supervisory contribution to graduate study and to propose the best practice of supervisory inputs. Developing skills towards an effective supervision needs to be tackled in various ways. Effective supervision is essential to guide postgraduate students during their progress in postgraduate study.

The embedment of soft skills into education programs in higher education is closely related to the curriculum philosophy brought by the respective institutions. The soft skills are embedded through understanding belief systems and practices among the teacher trainers. Furthermore it provides an insight into the curriculum philosophy on how to implement soft skills embedment. Therefore, this study aimed to understand teacher trainers' understanding and teaching practice in embedding soft skills while teaching core courses for the Bachelor of Teaching Program (PISMP) at the Malaysia Institute of Teacher Education (IPG). This understanding is necessary in order to resolve the misunderstanding that embedding soft skills are burdensome for the teacher trainers and that it is only documented without being practiced. The case study methodology was used through a qualitative approach. Five teacher trainers with different backgrounds and teaching experience participated as respondents. The findings resulted in improved understanding on teacher trainers' understanding about soft skills embedment and how the actual process of embedding soft skills occurred. The results of this study allow those involved in the development of student-teachers' soft skills to generate ideas to develop models for soft skills embedment that are in line with the interpretation of PISMP soft skills.

Objective - This study aims to investigate the relationship between spirituality and restoration in the public sector workplace of civil officials in Malaysia, specifically through the lens of emotional intelligence. The primary objective is to enhance the understanding of emotional wellness among government employees, addressing it as a crucial mental health concern in the context of workplace dynamics. Methodology/Technique - The study utilizes a comprehensive literature review to identify and extract relevant information on emotional wellness, with a specific emphasis on spirituality and recovery. Data collection involves exploring the experiences and perspectives of civil servants through surveys and structured assessments. Findings - The study anticipates shedding light on the intricate relationship between emotional intelligence, spirituality, and restoration in the workplace. By examining existing literature and conducting quantitative analyses, the research aims to provide insights into the specific ways in which spirituality and access to green spaces contribute to emotional wellness. The findings are expected to highlight the importance of integrating these elements into workplace strategies for government employees. This research contributes to the field by emphasizing the role of spirituality and nature in mitigating emotional disturbances among civil servants. The incorporation of therapeutic nature experiences is a novel approach to addressing mental health issues in the workplace. Novelty - The study also explores the concept of self-attachment to nature as a means of alleviating emotional disturbances and fostering a deeper connection with spirituality. By linking emotional wellness to these factors, the research introduces innovative strategies for enhancing the mental welfare of government employees, ultimately contributing to the broader discourse on workplace well-being. This article discusses the goals and challenges of adult education in Malaysia. In addition, it reports on the evaluation of two programmes--Computer Literacy and Civic Development--offered by a government agency called the Community Development Department (KEMAS) to rural communities. In both programmes, the respondents scored high in cognitive and behaviouristic aspects but average in the affective domain. In terms of the teaching and facilities, the participants were less impressed by the teaching methods, resources and infrastructure of the Computer Literacy Programme. Thus, it is suggested that a comprehensive assessment should be conducted by KEMAS in order to keep up with current demands. Finally, it is recommended that government agencies, the private sector, NGOs and the wider community should work together to support adult learning, especially in rural areas.

Past research had shown that only highly unusual graduate research students had successfully completed their research degree programmes while the relationship with their supervisors was poor. There were many factors that had contributed to poor achievement of foreign students and one of the most important critical factors found which contributed to this problem was the weaknesses in supervision they received. This research was to identify the type and level of support given to foreign graduate research students by their supervisors as well as schools/universities. This research was using the quantitative method where the data was collected using on-line questionnaires. As many as 110 foreign Ph.D. students from 45 well-established universities in the United Kingdom were involved in this study. This research managed to expose what the students had expected and what they have received from the supervisor and school. As a result, the research had developed better practices and guidelines for student, supervisor and school.
