AutoML offers significant benefits in solving real-life problems because it accelerates the development of machine learning models. In contexts involving real scenarios like analyzing companies’ environmental, social and governance (ESG), where the dataset presents some challenges, AutoML is anticipated as a promising solution to address these complexities. Although researchers have shown significant interest in exploring Genetic Programming (GP) in AutoML for handling complex datasets, a critical issue that remains unresolved is the comprehensive understanding of GP hyper-parameters that influence machine learning performance. While GP-based AutoML excels in automating many aspects of the modelling, there has been a scarcity of research that provides insight into the significance of individual features and GP population size within the models of GP-based AutoML. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the models’ performance evaluation from multiple facets, including feature selection, GP population sizes, and different machine learning algorithms. Furthermore, this study provides insights into the association between Pearson correlations, machine learning performance, and the importance of machine learning features. The findings demonstrate that incorporating all the determinants as features in GP-based AutoML or relying solely on firm characteristics led to superior performance with an excellent trade-off between True Positive Rate and False Positive Rate. Thus, higher accuracy results exceeding 0.9 of Area Under the Curve (AUC) are presented by the proposed models. The novelty of this study lies in its empirical evaluation of different approaches to GP-based AutoML implementation. These findings provide alternative solutions for business investors to identify companies with strong sustainability practices.

This research is motivated by the importance of social interaction in the development of students at Pondok Pesantren Hidayatul Insan. Healthy social interaction can shape character, enhance cultural diversity understanding, and provide vital adaptability skills in a social environment. However, preliminary studies have shown a lack of adequate group counseling services and insufficient student understanding of the concept of Group Guidance Counseling. The purpose of this research is to identify existing issues and provide constructive solutions to enhance the students' social interaction facilities by developing a Group Guidance Counseling program that involves collaboration with BK (Guidance and Counseling) teachers and students at Pondok Pesantren Hidayatul Insan. The research methodology employed is qualitative research with a field study approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research findings reveal that group counseling services have not been given priority in this school. BK teachers have a limited understanding of group counseling concepts, and the existing programs are still general. This situation creates a gap in students' social interaction skills. In conclusion, the role of BK teachers needs to be strengthened, and group counseling services need to be improved as an integral part of students' social interaction development. It is expected that this will contribute positively to improving students' social interactions, helping them overcome difficulties, and building healthier social relationships at Pondok Pesantren Hidayatul Insan.

Machine learning has been very promising in solving real problems, but the implementation involved difficulties mainly for the inexpert data scientists. Therefore, this paper presents an automated machine learning (AutoML) to simplify and accelerate the modeling tasks. Focused on Python and RapidMiner rapid modeling tools, Tree-based Pipeline Optimization Tool (TPOT) and AutoModel were used. This paper presents a comprehensive comparison between these tools with regard to the prediction accuracy and Area Under Curve (AUC) in classifying real cases of whistleblowing academic dishonesty among undergraduate students of two universities in Indonesia. Additionally, the correlations weight from demographic and Theory of Planned Behavior (TOB) attributes in the different machine learning models are also discussed. All the machine learning algorithms from TPOT and AutoModel are considerable powerful to generate good accuracy level (between 70–93% of AUC) in classifying both cases of whistleblowing and non-whistleblowing on the hold-out samples from the testing process. Generally, based on the validation results of the prediction models, demographic attributes presented more importance than the TBP attributes. The findings of this study will be a great interest of many research scholars to conduct a more in-depth analysis on AutoML for many domains mainly in education and academic misconduct fields. • AutoML is the first of its kind to be empirically compared between TPOT and AutoModel in an application to predict academic dishonesty whistleblowing. • Besides accuracy performances of the AutoML, the proportion of the variance of each attribute from demographic and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) is also presented in the prediction models of academic dishonesty whistleblowing. • AutoML is a convenient and reproducible rapid modeling method of machine learning to be used in many kinds of prediction problem.

Padang has been determined to be a livable city in 2024, according to the Mission of the City Major 2019-2024. Some improvements have been made, such as more BRT corridors, widening the sidewalk, and adding benches along the sidewalks. However, achieving a livable city is far more than just those thingies; we also need to know what people need and what the government is willing to do. This study explores the determinant factors in achieving the livable city criterion for Padang, especially regarding transportation-related variables in the expert views along and public and government interests. The quadrant analysis of Expectation-Performance and Effort-Effect Analysis was used to identify the determinant and priority factors in improving the livability of Padang. The results show that improving some essential elements has satisfied public expectations. Still, more things need to do, such as an integrated transportation system, comfortable public transportation, transportation for disabled persons, and a more environmentally friendly transportation mode. With less effort and high effect, the most priority factors are comfortable and secure pedestrian facilities, improving traffic to reduce travel time, and improving public transport facilities.

This study aims to analyze the registration of hajj at this age in the study of the MUI fatwa No. 002/MUNAS X/MUI/XI/2020 and socio-economic theory studies. This study uses a qualitative research method based on literature study with primary data sources, namely the preamble of fatwa no. 002/MUNAS X/MUI/XI/2020 concerning registration of hajj at an early age and a book on economic sociology by Damsar and Indrayani. Data analysis was carried out using content analysis and description analysis techniques. The results of the study explain that Hajj registration at an early age to get a portion of the Hajj is legal (permissible), provided that the money used to register for Hajj is obtained in a lawful way, does not interfere with other costs that must be met, does not violate the provisions of the legislation. , does not hinder the implementation of Hajj for mukallaf who already have the obligation 'ala al-faur and have registered. Then the research also explains that socially registration for Hajj at an early age has the opportunity to create new social strata, where at an early age a person will be seen as respectable by his participation as a prospective Hajj participant. Whereas in the perspective of economic studies, participation from an early age can only be carried out by people with high economics.

Hand sign language is a medium of communication for people with disabilities (deaf and speech impaired). However, in social practice, persons with disabilities may have to communicate with non-disable persons who do not understand sign language. These problems can be overcome with the help of translators or normal people learning sign language through existing media such as videos. Unfortunately, this method will probably cost a lot of money and time. In respons to this issue, the present study designed a sistem to detect hand gestures based on image processing. The method used is the You Only Look Once (YOLO) algorithm. The YOLO algorithm can detect and classify objects at once without being influenced by the light intensity and background of the object. This algorithm is a deep learning method that is more accurate than other deep learning methods. From this research, the system can detect and classify hand gestures with different backgrounds, light intensity, and distances with an accuracy rate above 90%.

Permasalahan tentang hak-hak sipil pekerja sebagaimana yang akan dijelaskan pada penelitian ini adalah hak-hak pekerja yang tercantum pada beberapa pasal UndangUndang Cipta Kerja Klaster Ketenagakerjaan dan dinilai sangat kontroversial serta kurang memberikan ketegasan sehingga dapat menyebabkan disharmoni pengaturannya. Pasal-pasal tersebut adalah Pasal 79 ayat 2 yang menjelaskan tentang hak istirahat dan cuti panjang dua bulan, Pasal 88b dan Pasal 88c yang menjelaskan tentang upah minimum sektoral yang tidak berdasarkan Kebutuhan Hidup Layak (KHL), Pasal 59 yang menjelaskan tentang periode kontrak, dan Pasal 42 tentang izin TKA yang hanya berdasarkan pengesahan Rencana Penggunaan TKA (RPTKA). Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Hukum Islam Pada Ranah Doktrin (Pemikiran)2, yaitu menganalisa beberapa Pasal Undang-Undang Cipta Kerja Klaster Ketenagakerjaan Dalam Perspektif Kepastian Hukum Muhammad Sa’id Ramadhan al-Buthi. Sebagai temuan dalam penelitian ini, penulis menemukan adanya beberapa pasal Undang-Undang Cipta Kerja Klaster Ketenagakerjaan yang kurang memberikan kepastian hukumnya.

The development of an assistive robot to assist human beings in walking normally is a difficult task. One of the main challenges lies in understanding the intention to walk, as an initial phase before walking commences. In this work, we classify the human gait cycle based on data from an inertial moment unit sensor and information on the angle of the hip joint and use the results as initial signals to produce a suitable assistive torque for a lower limb exoskeleton. A neural network module is used as a prediction module to identify the intention to walk based on the gait cycle. A decision tree method is implemented in our system to generate the assistive torque, and a prediction of the human gait cycle is used as a reference signal. Real-time experiments are carried out to verify the performance of the proposed method, which can differentiate between various types of walking. The results show that the proposed method is able to predict the intention to walk as an initial phase and is also able to provide an assistive torque based on the information predicted for this phase.

A 59-year-old man with a background of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease was diagnosed with a large mixed laryngopyocele that was successfully drained and marsupialized endoscopically using suction diathermy without requiring tracheostomy. Because of the rareness of the case, we performed a systematic review. Of 61 papers published between 1952 and 2015, we reviewed 23 cases written in English that described the number of cases, surgical approaches, resort to tracheostomy, complications, and outcomes. Four cases of laryngopyoceles were managed endoscopically using a cold instrument, microdebrider, or laser. Eighteen cases were operated on via an external approach, and 1 case applied both approaches. One of 4 endoscopic and 10 of 18 external approaches involved tracheostomy. Management using suction diathermy for excision and marsupialization of a laryngopyocele has never been reported and can be recommended as a feasible method due to its widespread availability. In the presence of a large laryngopyocele impeding the airway, tracheostomy may be averted in a controlled setting. SIMILAR CASES PUBLISHED: None specified.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common disease affecting middle-aged patients and is associated with significant cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and metabolic complications. Current evidences show inconclusive association between OSA and insulin resistance (IR). This study aims to examine the possible correlation between OSA parameters and IR. DESIGN AND SETTINGS: This was a cross-sectional study to examine the association between OSA parameters and IR using homeostasis model assessment (HOMA) on patients who underwent polysomnogram (PSG) in a tertiary center between March 2011 and March 2012 (1 year). PATIENTS AND METHODS: A total of 62 patients underwent PSG within the study period, of which 16 patients were excluded due to abnormal fasting blood sugar. Information on patients' medical illnesses, medications, and Epworth sleepiness scale (ESS) was obtained. Patients' body mass index (BMI), neck circumference, and waist circumference (WC) were measured. Blood samples were collected after 8 hours of fasting to measure HOMA–IR value. Overnight PSG was performed for all patients. Data was recorded and analyzed using SPSS, version 12.0 (SPSS Inc, Chicago, USA). RESULTS: The prevalence of IR in OSA patients was 64.3%. There was significant correlation between OSA parameters (apnea-hypopnea index, ESS, BMI, and WC) and HOMA–IR with correlation coefficient of 0.529, 0.224, 0.261, and 0.354, respectively. CONCLUSION: A linear correlation exists between OSA parameters and IR concluding a definite causal link between OSA and IR. IR screening is recommended in severe OSA patients.

This is case where a middle aged gentleman presented with history of progressively worseninghoarseness for 1 year. On further history taking and examination including imaging noted patient had supraglottic mass arising from left ventricle, measuring 2x2cm with smooth surface mimicking a benign lesion. Laryngomalacia is the most common cause of neonatal and infantile stridor. The aim of this study was to assess the outcome of surgical intervention in children with laryngomalacia. Methods: Between January 1998 and December 2008, IS children with laryngomalacia underwent surgical intervention at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre, from which only eight case notes were available. These were retrospectively reviewed for demographic data, symptoms, comorbidities, operative technique, postoperative recovery, complications, length of hospital stay including intensive care unit (ICU) care, and resolution of symptoms. Results: Patients consisted of seven males and one female. One patient underwent three procedures, resulting in a total of 10 procedures for this study. The mean age was 15.6 months (range: 2–39 months). The most common indication for surgery was severe stridor resulting in failure to thrive. Intra-operatively, all patients were found to have short aryepiglottic folds, and four also had redundant arytenoid mucosa. Supraglottoplasty was performed in 10 patients: three by cold instruments and seven by laser. Successful extubation was achieved in the operating theatre in eight patients while the other two were extubated in the ICU on the same day. Postoperative ICU nursing was required in six patients: three for up to 3 days, and three for longer periods because of medical problems. Resolution of stridor was complete in four patients, partial in one, and no difference in five. Two patients defaulted follow-up. There were no postoperative complications from the procedures. The average length of follow-up was IS weeks (range: 12 days to 7 years). Conclusion: Supraglottoplasty remains an effective method to treat severe laryngomalacia. Patients who will benefit most are those with severe laryngomalacia that is uncomplicated by neurological conditions or multiple medical problems. In our institution, early extubation is the norm, and a significant number of patients can be nursed in the normal wards and be discharged within 48 hours of the procedure.

This research studies the diversification of space distribution in selected Sama-Bajau dwellings along the north coast of Sabah: Kudat and Pitas; and east coast of Sabah: Mabul Island. This study investigates the frequency of spatial arrangements in Sama-Bajau coastal houses as a preliminary step in understanding their ideal home based on the existing socio-culture and economic practice. Adjacency Distribution Diagram by Mushtaha et al (2011) is used for simpler and compact visual diagram that explains the space distribution in each house attended. This paper is exploratory and applies a qualitative method. This study suggests that the spatial distribution amongst coastal Sama-Bajau consists of Dynamic interconnectivity (Type A), linear configuration (Type B), Anarchy configuration (Type C and D) and Modernist influence (Type E). The frequency of given types is found to weighs more on Type B, which is a linear configuration from the entrance towards guest area and ending up to the living area.

Understanding the notion of learner’s experiences in the design of physical environment of an architecture design studio is a necessity as it contains certain values of influence. It is due to the unique learning experiences which are accrued particularly in design studio that is continued during professional practice as well. Most architectural campuses in Malaysian Private Higher Education Institutions (MPHEI) are devoid of certain important elements and this issue needs to be looked into seriously. Apparently, most architectural design studios today have different physical settings, and have developed their own learning culture based on the typical space that they have. Reviewing the physical environment and how it contributes to the social environ-ment in MPHEI’s architectural context requires certain understanding on the learner’s psycho-logical needs, expectations and in the same time to meet the educational objective which is never an easy task. Hence, this paper reviewed the studies of the possible physical environment approaches in connecting the learner’s connections in architecture studio learning environ-ment. A questionnaire survey with Likert-scale components, and semi-structured interview on learners of five distinguished Private Architectural schools in Malaysia unveiled several signifi-cant findings that can lead entrepreneurs to upgrade the physical environment of these MPHEIs in order to cope with the demands of the stakeholders.

Currently the problems of some architects issuing fraudulent progress certificates for Malaysia’s housing projects result in many house buyers losing their life savings. Unfortunately, these house buyers still remain contractually responsible for all the associated, present and future financial obligations such as their bank loans. Fraudulent certification is the most frequent incident of complaints amongst the range of problems complained about to the Board of Architects, Malaysia or Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM). This paper highlights the underlying pertinent issues such as when an architect does not fully understand the ramifications, or exercise due care when performing the certifier’s role with its inherent responsibilities under the Housing Development Act (HDA) and Housing Development Regulations (HDR). Also at what stage the architect is legally required to issue progressive work completion certificates, particularly the scope ranging from the inception stage through to the completion stage. This includes the relevant housing laws and regulations that enshrine the architects’ professional status and confers legal certification duties. This is designed to protect the public interest, yet many architects fail to perform this duty inde-pendently, or impartially and fairly to the new house buyers and the public at-large. Recognizing the systemic weakness, the elements that contribute to the fraudulent certification and illustrates how the fraudulent certification exploits the trust of house buyers. In the analysis, a quantitative framework was used to measure, quantify and discuss the best all round outcomes.

Objective: To report two cases of Cardiovocal syndrome (or Ortner’s syndrome) due to cardiovascular disease. Methods: Study Design: Case Report Setting: Tertiary University Hospital Subjects: Two Results: Two patients with cardiovocal syndrome, one due to an aortic saccular aneurysm and the other due to severe mitral stenosis underwent surgery to correct the underlying cardiovascular disease. Post-operatively, the hoarseness resolved completely in the patient with mitral stenosis but persisted in the patient with aortic saccular aneurysm. Conclusion: Cardivascular disease should be considered as a differential diagnosis in a patient with hoarseness. A high index of suspicion is needed to make an early diagnosis, which can lead to surgical correction of the potentially life-threatening, underlying cardiovascular disease. Background and aim: Prolonged glucocorticoid (GC) treatment increases oxidative stress, triggers apoptosis of osteoblasts, and contributes to osteoporosis. Tocotrienol, as an antioxidant, could protect the osteoblasts and preserve bone quality under glucocorticoid treatment. From this study, we aimed to determine the effects of tocotrienol on MC3T3-E1 murine pre-osteoblastic cells treated with GC. Methods: MC3T3-E1 cells were exposed to dexamethasone (150 µM), with or without palm tocotrienol (PTT; 0.25, 0.5, and 1 µg/mL). Cell viability was measured by the MTS assay. Alizarin Red staining was performed to detect calcium deposits. Cellular alkaline phosphatase activity was measured to evaluate osteogenic activity. The expression of osteoblastic differentiation markers was measured by an enzyme-linked immunoassay. Results: Enhanced matrix mineralization was observed in the cells treated with 0.5 µg/mL PTT, especially on day 18 (p < 0.05). The expression of Wnt3a, β-catenin, collagen 1α1, alkaline phosphatase, osteocalcin, low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 6, and runt-related transcription factor-2 were significantly increased in the PTT-treated groups compared to the vehicle control group, especially at 0.5 µg/mL of PTT (p < 0.05) and on day 6 of treatment. Conclusions: PTT maintains the osteogenic activity of the dexamethasone-treated osteoblasts by promoting their differentiation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Advanced work packaging (AWP) is a new strategy for enhanced project delivery in the oil and gas sector and has proven to be effective and efficient. However, not all the stakeholders are fully aware of the guidelines and implementation approaches. On this basis, this work focused on the implementation and challenges that are faced by the stakeholders of the oil and gas sector in Malaysia. Accordingly, a semi-structured interview was conducted with the field experts prior to the development of the questionnaire, which was distributed amongst the companies working in oil and gas following a mixed method. Analytical results showed that the majority of the respondents have heard about the AWP, but they have limited knowledge of its implementation. The foremost challenges that were highlighted are the 'lack of AWP management knowledge', 'risk of miscommunication', and 'late/incorrect front-end deliverables', which require vital attention. Therefore, a conceptual framework has been developed based on the top-ranked factors that will work as a guideline for the industrial stakeholders to understand and implement AWP in a better manner. This study will also help government institutions to foresee where the oil and gas industry is standing at the moment and what reforms are required to boost project delivery. One of the big challenges in machine learning is difficulty of achieving high accuracy in a short completion time. A more difficulties appeared when the algorithm needs to be used for solving real dataset from the survey-based data collection. Imbalance dataset, insufficient strength of correlations, and outliers are common problems in real dataset. To accelerate the modelling processes, automated machine learning based on meta-heuristics optimization such as genetic programming (GP) has started to emerge and is gaining popularity. However, identifying the best hyper-parameters of the meta-heuristics' algorithm is the critical issue. This paper demonstrates the evaluation of GP hyper-parameters in modeling machine learning on house affordability dataset. The important hyper-parameters of GP are population size (PS), that has been observed with different setting in this research. The machine learning with GP was used to predict house affordability among employers with transport expenditure and job mobility as some of the attributes. The results from testing that run on hold-out samples show that GP machine learning can reach to 70% accuracy with split ratio 0.2 and GP PS 30. The demand for halal foods and beverages is increasing globally. While most halal analysis focuses on porcine, this study focuses on assessing residual organic solvents to ensure their halal compliance and wholesomeness, following several Malaysian standards and guidelines. A significant challenge in this study was the volatility of the residual solvents during the preparation of standards and quality control. To address this issue, a gravimetric technique was employed and effectively minimized the difference between theoretical (1,000 ppm) and actual (710 - 892 ppm) concentrations of the residual organic standard stock solution, except for acetone (588 ppm). The aim of this study was to establish a validated, reliable, and accurate method using SIM-headspace GC-MS to identify and quantify residual organic solvents for halal and wholesomeness analysis. Confirmation of each residual organic solvent was achieved by comparing the obtained spectra with the NIST 11 spectral database, containing 70,832 compounds, with similarity ranging from 80.9% to 96.6%, except for acetonitrile at 52.2%. The validation parameters were carried out according to ISO 17025:2017, the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, and the European Guidelines. The parameters included recovery ranging from 95.65% to 95.68%, precision from 10.08% to 19.65% RSD, linearity between 0.996 to 0.999, limit of detection from 0.01 to 0.08 ppm, and limit of quantification from 0.02 to 0.24 ppm. Uncertainty considerations were limited to recovery, precision, and linearity, as other uncertainties were negligible based on the bottom-up approach using in-house validation data. This combination of gravimetric and SIM-headspace GC-MS techniques has provided valuable insights for discussions and collaborations among halal authorities worldwide to establish a consensus analytical methodology for halal and wholesomeness assessment.
