This paper employs artificial neural networks (ANNs) in estimating and controlling the speed of a separately excited DC motor, which is also one of the most essential modern techniques used in control applications and to enhance the effectiveness of separately excited DC motor speed control. For speed control of a separately excited DC motor, the paper compares the performance of the conventional proportional integral (PI) and artificial neural networks (ANNs). A neural network (NNs) based controller is an extremely appreciated technology for accomplishing high-recital speed control. The simulation results are expose to demonstrate the efficacy and advantage of the control system of a separately excited DC motor (SEDCM) using ANNs over the traditional control arrangement. The integration of (ANNs) has shown significant improvements in performance in speed control of DC motors separately excited, chiefly in dynamic response and robustness in contradiction of load variations. This technique leverages the adaptive competences of ANNs to improve traditional control methods. In this manuscript, two controller for speed control of SEDCM are designed and simulated using matlab Simulink program. The first one is the PI controller and the second is the ANN controller, the results of the ANN controller based speed control of the SEDCM give quick response, low overshot, small settling time, zero steady state error when sudden change happened in reference speed or load torque. Although the incidence of chronic mesenteric ischemia (CMI) is uncommon, it could become life threatening. With improvements in diagnostic imaging and endovascular therapy over the past few decades, the treatment of CMI has evolved. Even though endovascular revascularization for CMI is prominent, it is unclear if the early advantages outweigh the long-term patency rates. This study conducts a systematic review and meta-analysis to present comprehensive insights into the validity of endovascular revascularization versus open revascularization as effective therapeutic modalities. Studies up to 2022 were searched in MEDLINE, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Scopus, and Embase. Additionally, references from earlier studies and review papers were manually searched for additional relevant reports. At least two authors examined all the results, making sure they fit the inclusion and exclusion criteria. In the event of disagreement, the authors were able to reach an understanding. Open revascularization is superior to endovascular approaches in maintaining vessel patency and reducing symptoms over the long term. Perioperative problems are more common in patients undergoing open procedures. Each patient's anatomy and physiology call for a different revascularization approach to be applied in treating this condition.

Background & Objective: Toxoplasmosis is a globally prevalent opportunistic zoonotic infection. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease which is manifested as joint inflammation, pain, stiffness, and swelling. The patients may contract toxoplasmosis, especially when receiving antirheumatic immunosuppressive therapy. However conflicting results have been reported on toxoplasmosis in RA patients. We aimed to evaluate Toxoplasma gondii positivity and associated risk factors in patients with RA in Duhok province, Iraq, and to assess the role of antirheumatic therapy in toxoplasmosis and the possibility of its reactivation. Methodology: This case-control study was carried out in Duhok, Kurdistan Region, Iraq, from February 2022 to June 2023. A total of 88 RA patients, with and without concurrent antirheumatic therapy, were recruited. The diagnosis of RA was according to the 2010 American College of Rheumatology/European League. RA-patients were categorized into three groups: Group 1 - no-therapy (n = 14); Group 2 - conventional therapy (n = 49) and Group 3 - biologics in combination with conventional medications (n = 25). Healthy subjects (n = 61) were also selected as controls. Plasma samples obtained from the participants were screened for T. gondii infection using Human anti-Toxoplasma gondii antibody IgG. IgG positive samples were tested utilizing human anti-Toxoplasma gondii antibody IgM ELISA Kit and the avidity T. gondii IgG ELISA kit was used to determine the state of infection. Results: Of the 88 RA patients, with or without antirheumatic therapy, 76 (86.36%) were females and 12 (13.64%) were males. Patients on therapy (n = 74) received several conventional antirheumatic drugs of which methotrexate was the most frequently used one (86.36%). Among biological therapies, etanercept, a TNF-alpha inhibitor, was mostly used (13.51%). The toxoplasmosis was significantly less in the older age group (> 50 y) compared to individuals under 30 y. Gender had no significant effect. Toxoplasma IgG positivity was found to be significantly higher in the three groups of RA patients in comparison with healthy controls. Further assessment of anti-Toxoplasma IgM positivity and Toxoplasma IgG avidity results to identify the state of T. gondii infection in anti-Toxoplasma IgG positive subjects revealed that the frequency of reactivation of toxoplasmosis in RA patient groups was not significantly different from that of the control counterparts. Conclusion: The study showed higher seroprevalence of anti-Toxoplasma antibodies in patients with RA irrespective of therapy; therefore, we could consider toxoplasmosis interaction with RA in the pathogenesis of both diseases. This seroprevalence was higher in younger age groups, but with no significant role of gender, duration of disease, duration of therapy and its type. Gliomas are the most common primary brain tumor and are uniformly lethal. Despite significant advancements in understanding the genetic landscape of gliomas, standard-of-care has remained largely unchanged. Subsets of gliomas are defined by gain-of-function mutations in the metabolic genes encoding isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH). Efforts to exploit mutant IDH activity and/or directly inhibit it with mutant IDH inhibitors have been the focus of over a decade of research. The recently published INDIGO trial, demonstrating the benefit of the mutant IDH inhibitor vorasidenib in patients with low-grade IDH-mutant gliomas, introduces a new era of precision medicine in brain tumors that is poised to change standard-of-care. In this review, we highlight and contextualize the results of the INDIGO trial and introduce key questions whose answers will guide how mutant IDH inhibitors may be used in the clinic. Elderly patients with glioblastoma represent a clinical challenge for neurosurgeons and oncologists. The data available on outcomes of patients greater than 80 undergoing resection is limited. In this study, factors linked to increased survival in patients over the age of 80 were analyzed. A retrospective chart review of all patients over the age of 80 with a new diagnosis of glioblastoma and who underwent surgical resection with intent for maximal resection were examined. Patients who had only stereotactic biopsies were excluded. Immunohistochemical expression of oncogenic drivers (p53, EGFR, IDH-1) and a marker of cell proliferation (Ki-67 index) performed upon routine neuropathological examination were recorded. Stepwise logistic regression and Kaplan Meier survival curves were plotted to determine correlations to overall survival. Fifty-eight patients fit inclusion criteria with a mean age of 83 (range 80-93 years). The overall median survival was 4.2 months. There was a statistically significant correlation between Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS) and overall survival (P < 0.05). There was a significantly longer survival among patients undergoing either radiation alone or radiation and chemotherapy compared to those who underwent no postoperative adjuvant therapy (p < 0.05). Along with power transmission lines' efficiency, another crucial factor in electrical power transmission networks is reliability, which guarantees power transmission stability. One of the crucial and essential tasks for maintaining the continuity and stability of power transmission in transmission networks Capacity without any significant failures is identifying errors and malfunctions in power transmission lines as soon as possible. The goal of this article is to develop and apply ANN technology to overcome the obstacles faced by the electrical power transmission network. In order for the ANN to learn useful patterns and features from raw current measurements, pre-processing and feature extraction techniques are used during the training process. Real-time applications can benefit from the ANN's architecture, which is optimized for high accuracy, quick response times, and scalability. To validate the performance of the ANN-based fault detection system, extensive simulations are conducted using data from different transmission line scenarios, including various fault types that short-circuit. The results demonstrate the capability of the ANN model to accurately detect and classify faults, as well as disconnect the power grid after detect any fault.
