If unauthorized resource use is prevented, managing marine resources by allocating property rights may match economic and environmental conservation incentives. However, because of the developing exploitation of marine resources and accompanying pollution, species' living conditions in Europe's waters are changing more quickly than before. By considering the roles of fisheries productivity, intellectual property rights, intellectual capital rights, market size, governance, and economic growth from 1990 to 2022, this paper aims to investigate the dynamic effect of property rights factors on the sustainability of the fisheries industry in 27 European countries. At higher quantiles, the findings showed a significant positive association between governance and fisheries sustainability adopting a new method, the MMQR with fixed effects, the Method of Moments Quantile Regression. In addition, in EU27 nations, the impact of intellectual property rights was favorable and statistically significant from the first to ninth quantiles. The findings show that the EU14 developed nations have more excellent governance and intellectual capital rights than the EU13 developing countries, significantly benefiting fisheries sustainability. In the same way that market size and economic growth condense fisheries sustainability in EU14 developed and EU13 developing countries, it has been discovered that intellectual property rights do the same across all quantiles, supporting the growth hypothesis for fisheries‐producing countries. The findings specifically show that the beneficial solid impact of intellectual property rights, market size, and economic development on the sustainability of fisheries is more significant in EU13 developing nations than in EU14 developed countries. These results provide policymakers with helpful information for promoting property rights aspects in EU14 and EU13 nations via effective green technologies in the fisheries sector to meet sustainable development objectives. The task today is for the EU to demonstrate leadership in guiding international ocean governance towards more ocean protection and sustainable management, as the European Green Deal seeks to make the EU a model for marine global sustainability. This paper aims to investigate the dynamic impact of global governance on the sustainability of the fisheries industry in 27 European countries by considering the role of fisheries production and global governance factors over the period 1996–2022. This paper will explore the marine and governance challenges that currently threaten the health of the EU Ocean and living species. The findings showed a substantial positive link between public sector quality, economic growth, economic stability, and the dependent variable fisheries sustainability across all quantiles, and this is achieved by adopting a new method, and this is the Method of Moments Quantile Regression (MMQR) that is in conjunction with fixed factors. Additionally, at the most recent quantiles in the EU27 nations, the impacts of private sector quality and property rights variables on fisheries sustainability were positively significant. However, the effects of individual interest and the sustainability of the fisheries were negatively substantial at the most recent quantiles in the EU27 nations. At the same time, they are having a beneficial, considerable impact on the middle quantiles in EU27 countries, social development, and fisheries sustainability. In particular, the results show that the significant positive effects of economic stability, growth, property rights, public sector quality, and private sector quality on fisheries sustainability are higher in EU13 developing countries than in EU14 developed countries, supporting the growth hypothesis for countries that produce fisheries. Conversely, the findings show that developed EU14 countries have a more significant impact on social development's favorable impact on fisheries sustainability than developing EU13 nations. With the use of effective technology and environmentally responsible investments in the fisheries sector, policymakers may advance marine and ocean governance in the EU14 and EU13 nations and meet sustainable development objectives. Hydropower comes with a lot of inestimable values. It is indubitably an eco‐system‐friendly resource that causes no harm to the natural state of the environment. This creates a better alternative to the heat energy radiating the earth. It is a cost‐efficient source of energy and it offers unique opportunities to have cost‐efficient tourism sector management in the EU region centers. The primary objective of this research is to determine the effect of hydropower output on tourism sustainability in the European Union (EU 27) states from 1990 to 2021. The autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) was adopted for this study. Findings from this study show that a significant increase in the tourism sector growth can occur in EU14 emerging economies using hydropower output and economic growth variables than in EU13 emerging economies. In addition, among other variables captured in this study, population density and good governance were seen to have a higher level of contribution to tourism sector growth in EU14 emerging economies than in EU13 emerging economies. It was also found that a significant increase in the tourism sector growth could be achieved in the EU13 emerging economies due to the high consumption of fossil fuels than in EU14 emerging economies. This finding implies that the EU27 could achieve sustainability in their tourism sector significantly through the substitution of fossil fuel output with hydropower. This will foster the attainment of Energy Union aims by 2030. It is also a good way to combat climate change and environmental pollution. Using the pooled mean group (PMG), mean group (MG), and dynamic fixed effect (DFE) methods, the projected calculations were seen to be valid. The study, therefore, recommended that EU27 countries should prioritize hydropower in their pursuit of renewable energy production as this will help them to achieve sustainability in their tourism sector and become secure in their energy need now and in the future time. The government, Politicians, and all other concerned stakeholders in the EU27 countries should strive towards replacing fossil fuels with hydropower. The Higher-Order Thinking Skill Test Instrument on Quadratic Equations (HOTS-QE) was developed to measure the level of HOTS on the topic of quadratic equations among secondary school students. The HOTS-QE instrument consists of 17 structured subjective items divided into two smaller questions according to the three levels of HOTS, namely applying, analysing, and evaluating. This study proposes a design and development research (DDR) approach via a development research that was done through an organised and systematic process. The DDR-oriented development process comprised seven stages namely source analysis, theory, development, content validity, validation of the HOTS domain accuracy, language validity, and pilot study. The development of the HOTS-QE instrument comprised seven stages, namely source analysis, theory, development, content validity, validation of the HOTS domain accuracy, language validity, and pilot study. The content validity of the instrument was evaluated by five mathematics education experts. The results showed that the item content validity index (I-CVI) value of each item was above 0.70 while the content validation per scale (S-CVI) value was 0.98. Results from the interrater evaluation also showed that the HOTS level accuracy of the instrument items had achieved the Cohen's Kappa coefficient value of 0.63. In addition, findings from the pilot study also showed that the Cronbach's alpha coefficient value was 0.79, the discrimination index value of each item was between 31.11% to 66.67%, and the difficulty index values were between 40.74% to 70.00%. These results suggest that the HOTS-QE instrument has an acceptable level of validity. The development of this instrument provides a more varied learning assessment that can foster students' interests in learning, help them to improve HOTS, and provide opportunities for students to directly apply the knowledge of quadratic equations learned at school in their daily life. Abstract Background Women who develop gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) have an increased risk for the development of type 2 diabetes. Despite this "window of opportunity," few intervention studies have targeted postpartum women with a history of GDM. We sought perspectives of women with a history of GDM to identify a) barriers and facilitators to healthy lifestyle changes postpartum, and b) specific intervention approaches that would facilitate participation in a postpartum lifestyle intervention program. Methods We used mixed methods to gather data from women with a prior history of GDM, including focus groups and informant interviews. Analysis of focus groups relied on grounded theory and used open-coding to categorize data by themes, while frequency distributions were used for the informant interviews. Results Of 38 women eligible to participate in focus groups, only ten women were able to accommodate their schedules to attend a focus group and 15 completed informant interviews by phone. We analyzed data from 25 women (mean age 35, mean pre-pregnancy BMI 28, 52% Caucasian, 20% African American, 12% Asian, 8% American Indian, 8% refused to specify). Themes from the focus groups included concern about developing type 2 diabetes, barriers to changing diet, and barriers to increasing physical activity. In one focus group, women expressed frustration about feeling judged by their physicians during their GDM pregnancy. Cited barriers to lifestyle change were identified from both methods, and included time and financial constraints, childcare duties, lack of motivation, fatigue, and obstacles at work. Informants suggested facilitators for lifestyle change, including nutrition education, accountability, exercise partners/groups, access to gyms with childcare, and home exercise equipment. All focus group and informant interview participants reported access to the internet, and the majority expressed interest in an intervention program delivered primarily via the internet that would include the opportunity to work with a lifestyle coach. Conclusion Time constraints were a major barrier. Our findings suggest that an internet-based lifestyle intervention program should be tested as a novel approach to prevent type 2 diabetes in postpartum women with a history of GDM.
