Even though phytoremediation is considered a green technology for remediating heavy metals, there are some problems with the application of this technology, particularly when it comes to managing the biomass that is used. So, processing biomass needs to be given a lot of attention. This study outlined the utilization of extracts obtained from the hyperaccumulator plant Brassica oleracea var. alboglabra to synthesize nickel oxide nanoparticles. Subsequently, the nanoparticle underwent testing to determine its suitability as an absorbent for heavy metals, specifically lead, as well as its efficacy as an antifungal agent against Fusarium sp. strain. The characterization of nickel oxide nanoparticles involved several measurements, such as scanning electron microscopy analysis, high- and low-resolution transmission electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and hysteresis curve acquisition. The research findings indicate that the extract from hyperaccumulators can be utilized for the synthesis of NiO, which exhibits an absorption capacity exceeding 98% and serves as an efficient antifungal agent against Fusarium sp. pathogens. The approach utilized in this study not only prioritizes "green" and sustainability factors but also takes into account the economic aspects associated with the items being manufactured. The research has important implications in two areas. Firstly, it demonstrates the utilization of natural resources (B. oleracea var. alboglabra) in the production of nickel oxide, which serves as a safer and more eco-friendly substitute for dangerous chemicals. Furthermore, it aids in the advancement of novel techniques for effectively managing biomass hyperaccumulators.

An increase in slaughtering animals will have an impact on increasing the liquid waste produced. The resulting RPH liquid waste can damage the environment if it is not treated, so it is necessary to conduct research to reduce pollutant levels so that it is suitable for disposal into the environment. The technique used in processing RPH wastewater is iron sand filtration method. Iron sand filtration is a filtering process using renewable media, namely iron sand. Iron sand is known to contain the mineral magnetite (Fe3O4) which has the ability to absorb colloidal solids, so it has the potential to be used to remove pollutant content of RPH liquid waste. This research objective to determine the effect of variations in the thickness of the filtration media (cm) and grain size (mesh) on pollutant parameters. The thickness variations used were 20, 25, and 30 cm, with grain sizes of iron sand 40, 60 and 100 mesh. The experimental results showed that the iron sand filtration method was able to reduce Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Total Suspended Solid (TSS) levels, increase the Dissolve Oxygen Meter (DO) value, and change the pH value. The highest reduction in COD was in the thickness variation of 30 cm with 100 mesh. the percentage of decrease in the value of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) was 95.05%, the highest decrease in Total Suspended Solid (TSS) value was in the media thickness variation of 30 cm with 100 mesh, the percentage of TSS value reduction was 97.11%, the pH value increased in the thickness variation media 30 cm with a mesh number of 100 from 5.8 to 7.4, and the value of Dissolve Oxygen Meter (DO) increased with variations in thickness of 30 cm with 100 mesh, increased from 1.2 to 15.2. Based on the parameter test results, it was concluded that iron sand filtration is effective in reducing pollutant levels below the quality standard, so that it is expected to be applied directly on a larger scale.

Restaurant liquid waste contains elevated pollutant levels and is commonly discharged directly into the environment, leading to adverse impacts on ecosystems and aquatic life. The traditional methods for processing such wastewater often involve extensive land usage and complicated operations, posing challenges for effective treatment. Therefore, there is a need for a more practical technology to manage restaurant liquid waste, and one promising approach is the utilization of membrane technology for wastewater treatment. In this study, the researchers employed a combination process of multilevel filters with downflow flow and PES membrane ultrafiltration to treat the restaurant liquid waste. The multilevel filter comprised several layers of filter media, including silica sand, activated carbon, zeolite, and gravel, with specific thicknesses on a PVC pipe. For the PES membrane, two different concentrations were tested: 15% and 20% PES. To evaluate the efficiency of the treatment process, pollutant parameters such as pH, TSS (Total Suspended Solids), COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), and turbidity were measured. The results indicated significant pollutant reduction: pH levels could reach 6.9, TSS degradation achieved up to 98.37%, COD degradation up to 88.14%, and turbidity degradation up to 97.03%. Based on the outcomes, the most effective treatment for converting restaurant wastewater into clean water involved the combined use of multilevel filters and a 20% PES membrane ultrafiltration system.

Metode Multi Soil Layering (MSL) adalah metode pengolahan limbah yang memanfaatkan tanah sebagai media dalam penyisihan parameter. Metode MSL sudah banyak digunakan pada berbagai pengolahan limbah cair seperti limbah cair domestik, industri dan lain sebagainya. Namun, belum pernah ditemukan publikasi pengolahan limbah cair industri pembekuan ikan dengan menggunakan metode MSL. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan efektivitas metode MSL dalam menurunkan parameter Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solid (TSS) dan pH pada limbah cair industri pembekuan ikan. Variasi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah variasi 1, 2 dan 3 layer SMB. Penelitian ini menggunakan variasi waktu pengolahan 24, 48 dan 72 jam. Pengolahan limbah cair industri pembekuan ikan menggunakan metode MSL dapat menurunkan kadar COD, TSS, dan menetralkan pH. Hasil dari pengolahan limbah cair industri pembekuan ikan menggunakan metode MSL pada parameter COD senilai 41 mg/l dengan efektivitas penurunannya 90,33%, parameter TSS senilai 49 mg/l dengan efektivitas penurunannya 88,94%, dan mengalami perubahan nilai pH menjadi 7,7 pada variasi 1 layer SMB dengan waktu 72 jam. Metode MSL diharapkan menjadi sebuah alternatif baru pada pengolahan limbah cair industri pembekuan ikan sehingga dijadikan metode dalam mengolah limbah cair yang dihasilkan.

Domestic liquid waste has become the leading cause of aquatic pollution, with a percentage of 60-70%. One of the media that has the potential to process water is coco fibre. This study aimed to analyze the Effectiveness of both media in reducing restaurant waste. The experiment was conducted with variations in the Thickness of coco fibre and activated carbon media of 10, 15, and 20 cm and sand 40 mesh of 10 cm. The addition of sand media proved more effective in meeting quality standards with the Effectiveness of the reduction of Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Chemical oxygen demand (COD), and turbidity, the highest obtained at the Thickness of coco fibre media 20 cm activated carbon 20 cm, and sand 40 mesh 10 cm, which is respectively 95.78, 93.04, and 98.72%, which is influenced by the Thickness and time of contact of waste with the media.

The Company's input pipes contained microplastics, per the preliminary test findings. Microplastics found in the water pose a major risk to living beings if they are consumed. This work aims to characterize the properties, flux, and polyethersulfone (PES) membrane rejection coefficient, which were made utilizing the phase inversion technique with a solvent and additives called N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF). In Sungai Krueng Aceh, titanium dioxide (TiO2) is utilized to filter out microplastics from the water. Results of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) examination of Membrane Morphology demonstrate that the resulting membrane is an asymmetrical membrane of two layers, the upper layer relatively thin and the lower layer porous. When compared to the PES membrane when it was 15% DMF/TiO2, the 20% DMF/TiO2 membrane exhibits a finger-like cross-sectional structure called a macrovoid) with more and larger numbers. Analysis of the microplastic rejection coefficients proved the effectiveness of PES, DMF, and TiO2 membranes in removing microplastics. Results of tests on the effectiveness of rejecting microplastics after undergoing process filtration with a microplastic rejection coefficient of 94% and 14.2 particles/L utilizing a 20% PES/DMF/TiO2 membrane Performance of PES membranes: The PES membrane with 20% DMF/TiO2 has a water flux of 0.467 L/m2.hour compared to 15% DMF/TiO2 0.733 L/m2.hour. This study's findings on membrane Ultrafiltration have the potential to be used as a water filter standard in PDAM.

Abstrak. Limbah binatu yang dibuang ke lingkungan tanpa proses pengolahan berpotensi mengganggu ekosistem lingkungan. Metode fotodegradasi mampu menguraikan polutan pencemar dari limbah binatu dengan bantuan cahaya matahari dan katalis. Katalis dalam bentuk nanopartikel dapat membantu dalam metode fotodegradasi. Pada kajian ini digunakan nanopartikel titanium dioksida (TiO2NP) dan nanopartikel silika dioksida (SiO2NP). Tujuan penggunaan katalis untuk membantu dalam proses pendegradasian polutan binatu karena TiO2NP-SiO2NP mempunyai kemampuan menyerap cahaya ultraviolet yang tinggi. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh dengan penambahan TiO2NP-SiO2NP dapat menurunkan polutan limbah binatu 1 liter, dengan massa dan waktu kontak yang optimum yaitu 1 gram TiO2NP-SiO2NP dengan waktu penyinaran selama 7 jam. Parameter limbah yang dianalisis yaitu pH, COD, TSS, fosfat dan kekeruhan. Hasil efektivitas dari uji parameter didapat untuk COD yaitu 96,77 %, TSS yaitu 83,78 %, fosfat yaitu 95,31 %, dan kekeruhan yaitu 97,72 % dan pH didapat 7,8. Abstract. Waste that is discharged into the environment without a process for managing the environmental ecosystem. The photodegradation method is able to decompose pollutant pollutants from cleaning services with the help of sunlight and catalysts. Catalysts in the form of nanoparticles can help in photodegradation methods. In this study, titanium dioxide (TiO2NP) and silica dioxide (SiO2NP) nanoparticles were used. The purpose of using a catalyst to assist in the degradation process of laundry services is because TiO2NP-SiO2NP has the ability to absorb high ultraviolet light. From this study, it was found that the addition of TiO2NP-SiO2NP can reduce the discovery of 1 liter, with an optimal mass and contact of 1 gram of TiO2NP-SiO2NP with an irradiation time of 7 hours. Waste parameters analyzed were pH, COD, TSS, phosphate, and turbidity. The effective results of the parameter test were obtained for COD, namely 96.77%, TSS for 83.78%, phosphate for 95.31%, and turbidity 97.72% and pH was 7.8.

Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest Au deposited. Gold mining has been the backbone of Indonesia’s economy. However, Indonesia also faces huge problems of Artisanal and Small Scale Gold Mining (ASGM) in a number of areas of Indonesia. A number of problems follow this Au mining method, including environmental, social and economic problems. Green innovation and technologies are needed to solve the problems. To date, Au agromining has been considered as a technology that can solve the numerical problems of Au conventional mining in the sector mentioned before. Gold agromining also has been proposed as a solution for the ASGM problem in Indonesia. However, until now, there have been no reports on the use of Au agromining technology in Indonesia. In fact, agromining research has been very advanced and is considered very prospective. This paper outlines the potentials of Au agromining to be implemented in Indonesia to overcome the social and environmental problems of ASGM.

Abstract : Islamic tradition and science have been going through a long history. The Islamic world centred in the Middle East was once a centre of knowledge that was marked by the birth of prominent Islamic scientists and the development of knowledge and technology. Islamic tradition and science are naturally integrated. For instance, it can be seen from the necessity of Earth science knowledge in Islamic ritual practising. However, the decline of Muslim civilization also had an impact on science, including in the field of geoscience. This paper seeks to explain the relationship between the Tafsir al-Qur’an and geoscience, among of them are about the creation of the earth, the structure of the earth, as well as tectonic and volcanism, wherein al-Qur’an they are delivered in many parts. Abstrak : Tradisi Islam dan sains mengalami sejarah yang panjang. Dunia Islam yang berpusat di Timur Tengah pernah menjadi pusat pengetahuan yang ditandai dengan lahirnya ilmuan Islam terkemuka dan pengembangan pengetahuan dan teknologi. Tradisi Islam dan sains terintegrasi secara alamiah termasuk integrasi antara ilmu kebumian dan peribadatan ummat Islam. Namun, kemunduran Islam juga berdampak pada kemunduran di bidang sains, termasuk pada bidang kebumian. Makalah ini berupaya memaparkan hubungan antara tafsir-tafsir Al-Quran dengan ilmu kebumian, diantaranya penciptaan bumi, struktur bumi, serta tetonika dan vulkanisme, dimana hal tersebut telah disebutkan di beberapa bagian di dalam Al-Quran.

This article presents measurement data using environmental magnetism method on the bulk surface sediments related to the research article entitled “Heavy metal contents and magnetic properties of surface sediments in volcanic and tropical environment from Brantas River, Jawa Timur Province, Indonesia” Mariyanto et al., 2019. Surface sediments were taken from 20 different locations along Brantas River. In the laboratory, a series of magnetic measurements was conducted on sediment samples i.e. magnetic susceptibility, ARM (Anhysteretic Remanent Magnetization) and IRM (Isothermal Remanent Magnetization). These environmental magnetism data were used to characterize bulk surface sediments in the study area. Telah dilakukan perluasan model black hole schwartzchild dengan pendekatan metrik yang gayut waktu. Selain itu, dianalisis pula konsekuensi fisis akibat black hole bergerak dengan kecepatan seragam terhadap pengamat. Hasil yang di luar dugaan adalah ternyata horizon peristiwa terus mengalami perluasan bagi pengamat bila black hole mengalami gerakan dengan kecepatan seragam. Perluasan model ini pada akhirnya menunjukkan terjadinya pergesaran biru (blue-shift).

Air pollution is one of the environmental problems that can have serious impacts on humans and the environment. To prevent these negative impacts from spreading, environmental monitoring efforts can be carried out periodically. The existing monitoring methods basically use chemical methods that are destructive. Therefore, the development and use of fast and non-destructive methods is a much-needed innovation. One of the alternative methods that are expected to be such an innovation is the rock magnetization method. Magnetic rocks have been used to assess climate and environmental changes. The application of this method has been used in the field of biomagnetism or the study of magnetism in living things through the presence of magnetic minerals based on the type, grain size, grain shape, and morphology. This article is an overview of the use of rock magnetization methods to characterize leaves as receptors for atmospheric pollutants.
