The research presented in this study focuses on the dielectric properties of complex oxide-filled epoxy, polyurethane, and silicone rubber composites. Specifically, we investigated various compositions of (1-x) CaWO4-xNa2WO4 (x = 0, 0.2, 0.4), in addition to Na0.5Bi0.5Mo0.5W0.5O4 and Bi2Mo0.5W0.5O6. These complex oxide materials were meticulously synthesized through a solid-state reaction, and their distinct phases were confirmed via rigorous X-ray diffraction (XRD) characterization. We then proceeded to create the composites by manually blending these complex oxides with epoxy, polyurethane, and silicone rubber matrices. The central focus of the study was to examine the impact of varying volume fractions of the complex oxide fillers on the dielectric properties of the composites in the frequency range of 4 – 8 GHz.Our observations revealed a direct correlation between the content of the complex oxide filler and the dielectric properties, including the dielectric constant and dielectric loss. Specifically, the addition of 10 % by volume fraction of (1-x) CaWO4-xNa2WO4 (x = 0, 0.4), Na0.5Bi0.5Mo0.5W0.5O4, or Bi2Mo0.5W0.5O6 fillers to the respective polymer matrices led to a significant enhancement in both the dielectric constant and the loss tangent. Promising results were particularly evident in three composite formulations: the 10 % 0.4Na2WO4-0.6CaWO4/silicone rubber composite demonstrated a dielectric constant (εr) of 2.02 ´ 102 and a loss tangent (tanδ) of -4.07 ´ 10-1 at 7.1 GHz; the 10 % Na0.5Bi0.5Mo0.5W0.5O4/epoxy composite exhibited a dielectric constant of 1.37 ´ 102 and a loss tangent of -6.43 ´ 10-1 at 7.22 GHz; and the 10 % Bi2W0.5Mo0.5O6/polyurethane composite displayed favorable properties with a dielectric constant (ϵr) of 8.37x101 and a loss tangent (tanδ) of -3.4 ´ 10-1 at 7.12 GHz.These results suggest the suitability of these composite materials for a wide range of microwave technology applications, including wireless communication, radar systems, and various microwave devices.

BACKGROUND: Selective immunoglobulin (Ig) A deficiency is the most common Ig deficiency in the world. Serum IgA level is reduced, 7 mg/dL (70 μg/mL), thus, associating with a wide range of clinical symptoms and signs that are related directly and indirectly to disturbances in the body immune system. Selective IgA deficiency patients are known to develop antibodies against lacking IgA. Whenever these antibodies are found in an individual's circulating blood, a severe allergic response and anaphylaxis can ensue upon receiving IgA containing blood or blood components. Hence, certain protocols are recommended in populations with increased prevalence of selective IgA deficiency including the use of red blood cell (RBC) washing machines or IgA-deficient blood components. Both measures are costly and require special maintenance procedures. objectives: The aim of this study was to screen for the presence of selective IgA deficiency in a group of blood donors and its probable role in the events of transfusion reactions that frequently occur which may necessitate the application of protocols that involve sophisticated procedures and highly-demanding machines. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: This was a laboratory study that included 300 volunteer blood donors in the National Blood Transfusion Center. They were screened for their serum IgA levels. Related questionnaire was conducted and chemiluminescence immunoassay technique with MAGLUMI 600 series machine was used. This machine is already used by the National Center of Teaching Laboratories for variety of biochemical and immunological assays. Serum IgA levels then were plotted against age, blood group and smoking status. RESULTS: No single case of Selective IgA deficiency was documented. Serum IgA levels showed increased levels with age and smoking demonstrated no significant effect on the Ig levels. CONCLUSION: In light of these results, it does not seem urgent or necessary at this point of time to introduce the highly demanding and expensive RBC washing machines in blood banks in Iraq. We recommend conducting a larger study that is more comprehensive with wider involvement of population, considering age, gender, and ethnicity.

Many risk factors have been listed that predispose to the occurrence of high blood pressure (BP). Although high body mass index (BMI) is a recognized risk factor for hypertension, the cutoff value for the high BMI was not taken into consideration as a predictor risk. There is no clear data on the occurrence of hypertension in Iraq in the highly educated population. Moreover, studies on hypertension in Iraq have been limited to a few studies. To assess and study the prevalence of BP in the academic population of Babylon city, a prospective study of 100 people was conducted. In the course of 3 months, during their work at the university in the morning, the questionnaire was filled out along with the body weight measurement. The receiver operating characteristic curve was used to measure the maximum area under the curve for the BMI score. Outcomes demonstrated that despite the high level of education, the prevalence of hypertension remains unacceptable. Awareness raising about the risk factors should be addressed through ongoing health education in health sectors and media. BMI of more than 25 could be considered a predictable risk value.

BACKGROUND: Endothelial dysfunction is a likely pathogenic mechanism in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy leading to a hypercoagulable state. OBJECTIVE: The present study aims to measure thrombomodulin (TM) in patients with preeclampsia (PE) and gestational hypertension (GH) and compare them with healthy pregnant control and its relation to disease severity and associated hematological parameters. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This cross-sectional study was done for 80 participants, 30 preeclamptic, 30 GH patients, and 20 healthy age-matched pregnant from all TM assays were done in by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Other hematological parameters including complete blood count, prothrombin time, and activated partial thromboplastin time where assessed in these patients. RESULTS: TM level was significantly higher in patients with PE when compared to both women with GH and normal pregnant women (P = 0.009) and (P < 0.001), respectively. Likewise, TM level was significantly higher in patients with GH when compared to healthy pregnant controls (P = 0.034). Plasma TM level was found to be 77% sensitive and 75% specific for the diagnosis of PE (the area under the curve was 0.835) at a 95% confidence interval. CONCLUSION: TM is significantly elevated in pregnant women with PE and GH and is associated with the severity of the disease.

مثل التواجد العسكري في المنطقة الخليجية بعد الانسحاب البريطاني منها عام 1971 أحد اهم ركائز الاستراتيجية الامريكية في الصعود الى سلم القيادة العالمية، اذ وفرت الميزات الجيوستراتيجية التي تتمتع بها المنطقة عوامل تحكم في مصادر الطاقة وطرق التجارة العالمية. وضمنت الولايات المتحدة الامريكية لاوربا الغربية واليابان عملية وصول مصادر الطاقة لها وابعاد خصومها من المنطقة، لاسيما الاتحاد السوفيتي، وتعاظم التواجد العسكري الامريكي في الخليج بعد غزو العراق عام 2003. بالمقابل عاشت المنطقة تناقضات كثيرة منها ما يهدد امنها واستفحال الخلافات بين دولها وظهور ازمات كأزمة الملف النووي الايراني، والازمة القطرية واستمرار الخلافات العربية – الايرانية حول الجزر الامارتية ومشكلة البحرين والتي انتهت بتدخل عسكري سعودي، فضلا عن الحرب في اليمن. كل هذه المشكلات حدثت مع التواجد العسكري الامريكي المكثف في المنطقة، الامر الذي يوحي بوجود علاقة سببية بين الاستراتيجية الامريكية المعتمدة في المنطقة واستمرار عدم الاستقرار الامني. ولذا فان هذا البحث سيتناول بشكل تفصيلي العلاقة بين الوجود الامريكي في منطقة الخليج العربي واستمرار عدم الاستقرار فيها، لا سيما بعد عام 2003.

تنوع بحوث علم الإعلام والاتصال بتنوع المداخل البحثية، سعيا ً للوصول لرؤى متقاربة، مرة مقاربة اجتماعية، ونفسية، وسياسية، واقتصادية، ... واخرى تقنية، الغرض منها استيعاب المتغيرات الجديدة في الوسيلة الاتصالية، ولا سيمابحوث مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، حول منهجيتها وادواتها ونظرياتها. لتطور تطبيقات الاتصال وتنوعها، وتزايد معدلات استخدام الجمهور لها، إذ اصبحت جزء لا يتجزأ من حياتنا، وما يستتبعه ذلك من نتائج التأثير، وتغيير في رؤى الجمهور.ولهذا يتزايد البحث العلمي حولها، والتفكير بالعلاقة الجدلية والتداخل بين الأدوات الرقميّة والعلوم الإنسانية، وقدرة الأدوات على توسيع آفاق البحوث في العلوم الإنسانية، وانتقالها من كونها برامج، إلى قدرة التحليل النصي والصوري.وتطرح الاوراق البحثية تساؤلات عدة حول البحث العلمي المتخصص في مجال تطبيقات مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، ولا سيما إن لكل مجال من هذه المجالات سماته، وتقنياته، وجمهوره، ومحتوياته. اذن نحتاج الى اعادة صياغة المقدمات النظرية والمنهجية، للتفكير في صيغ جديدة تتراكم فيها الدراسات والاجتهادات، في مستوى التأسيس النظري، كمجال معرفي.

تركزت الد ا رسة الميدانية للبحث على دوافع استخدام المحامين للموقع الالكتروني لمجلس القضاء الاعلى، والاشباعات المتحققة من ج ا رء الاستخدام، وسعى البحث لتحقيق عدد من الاهداف نذكر منها: 1. رصد انماط استخدام المحامين للموقع الالكتروني لمجلس القضاء الاعلى. 2. تحديد الاشكال التي يستخدمها المحامون للتفاعل في الموقع الالكتروني لمجلس القضاء الاعلى. ويعد هذا البحث وصفياً من حيث النوع، إذ اعتمد الباحث على )المنهج المسحي( في د ا رسته الجمهور الخارجي )المحامون( مُستعيناً بأداة الاستبانة والمقياس، وتم توزيعها بين عينة أُختيرت بطريقة عمدية، وقوامها) 16 0 ( محامياً من كلا الجنسين، من الذين استخدموا الموقع الالكتروني لمجلس القضاء الاعلى وقد خلُص البحث الى مجموعة من النتائج، نذكر اهمها: أ. أتضح: إن استخدام المحامين الموقع الالكتروني لمجلس القضاء الاعلى تمثل بالأتي: حلت بالمرتبة الاولى )معدل مرتين في الاسبوع(، وتلتها في المرتبة الثانية )ثاث م ا رت في الاسبوع(، وحلت ثالثاً )مرة في الاسبوع(. ب. بينت النتائج ان: الدوافع المنفعية في استخدام المحامين الموقع الالكتروني تمثلت بالاتي: حلت بالمرتبة الاولى ) يجعلني مواكباً للتطور في مجال تخصصي القانوني( ، في حين حلت بالمرتبة الاخيرة )يمنحني الفرصة للتعبير عن أ ريي في القضايا القانونية المختلفة(، اما الدوافع الطقوسية فجاءت بالمرتبة الاولى)يُسهم في نشر النصوص القانونية المفيدة للأخرين(، في حين حصلت فئة )يساعد في التخلص من المشاكل الشخصية ونسيانها والرغبة في اللهو( بالمرتبة الاخيرة.

A diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) in a human often contains more than one test. Calcification of the traverse carpal ligament (TCL) is the common reason why patients seek CTS surgery. However, the determination of calcium (Ca) concentration in the TCL has not been studied. The results of environmental toxicity studies assessing the relationship between Ca and elemental deposition in the TCL are inconsistent. The purpose of this paper was to verify this hypothesis by conducting a chemical analysis of a portion of the released TCL to assess whether there is a relationship between CTS and Ca, measured as the total concentration of Ca, and to measure the precipitation of elements; the most closely related elements associated with Ca are cadmium and lead, which are also toxic. Surgical release of TCL was performed on forty patients. Total concentrations of Ca, Cd, and Pb in the extracted portion of TCL were digested and determined using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and the possibility of using X-ray spectroscopy (XRF) for direct elemental analysis. Ca mineralisation was revealed in some TCLs. In assessing patients’ environmental pollution, it was observed that the Cd and Pb concentrations were significant with a higher Ca concentration, and XRF was useful for direct detection of the elements in samples of the human body. These results indicate that TCL mineralisation by Ca does not characterise CTS, which has important concerns in improving patients’ therapeutic strategies, and Cd and Pb concentrations varied due to different factors.

BACKGROUND: Diagnosis of α-thalassemia can be challenging as it is clinically insignificant in the majority of patients who are presented with one or two α-gene deletion, it cannot be always suspected from the red cell indices, and the confirmatory tests of α-thalassemia are not readily available, applied, and/or provide conclusive results. The importance of diagnosis of α-thalassemia is mainly to identify the patients with α0-thalassemia, hemoglobin (Hb) H disease, Hb Bart's hydrops fetalis, and to identify the ameliorating effect that the coinheritance of α-thalassemia may have on the clinical phenotype of patients with HbS and other structural β-globin chain variants and/or patients with beta-thalassemia. The aim of this study is to evaluate the presentation and diagnosis of patients with α-thalassemia in a cohort of Iraqi patients with hemoglobinopathies. PATIENTS, MATERIALS, AND METHODS: This is a prospective cohort study that included 216 patients diagnosed with different types of hemoglobinopathies from June 2016 to October 2019. For each patient after reviewing the cause of presentation and family history of thalassemia, blood samples were sent for complete blood count, including calculated absolute reticulocyte count, peripheral blood smear, Hb H preparation, serum iron and total iron-binding capacity, sickling test, and if indicated Hb high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) (using BioRad D10). Family study was requested for several patients. RESULTS: Male:female for patients with α-thalassemia is 1:1.25. Consanguinity and family history of α-thalassemia are present in 85.2% and 51.9%, respectively. Out of 216 patients with different types of hemoglobinopathies, 25% are diagnosed with isolated or copresence of α-thalassemia. Low/lower normal HbA2% is the most sensitive parameter for the diagnosis of α-thalassemia. CONCLUSIONS: The most sensitive parameter for the diagnosis of α-thalassemia in this study is the low/lower normal HbA2% in patient with normal iron study. Other parameters such as the presence of golf-ball red cells in Hb H preparation and/or presence of HbH wave in Hb HPLC can be helpful but are only seen in smaller fraction of patients.

Friction crush welding applications (FCW) provides versatile applications in sheet metals welding. In this work, different tool rotational speeds (220, 410, 920, 1500 rpm) and feed rates (20, 43, 80,150 mm/min) were used to weld oxygen-free copper sheets with flanged edges. Evaluation of Cu-Cu joints was performed successfully using optical microscope, vickers hardness and tensile test. The results showed that the microstructure was significantly influenced by welding parameters used. Different defects were recognized in the welding zone. The highest hardness of 63 HV and tensile strength of 105 MPa were obtained at tool rotational speed of 1500 rpm and feed rate of 115 mm/min.

The present work aims to preparation and investigation of the corrosion behavior of recycling Al alloy based metal matrix composite reinforced with nano SiC with weight percentage (2%, 4%, 6%, and 8%) and particle size 52 nm were evaluated. The composites were fabricated using liquid metallurgy (stir casting process). The corrosion rates of composites were calculated using potentiostatic measurements in 3.5% NaCl solution.. The results showed that Al/SiC nanocomposites have higher corrosion resistance than aluminum matrix.The corrosion resistance was found to be increased by increasing of the weight percentage of the nanoparticles The Al/8% nano (SiC)P composites exhibited the highest corrosion resistance among all the investigated nanocomposites. The microstructure indicate that the strong interfacial bonding between the matrix alloy and reinforcement.

G6PD deficiency (G6PDD) is associated with oxidative stress resulting from an imbalance between reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and the body's ability to counteract. In this review, we explore the adverse effects of G6PDD on diverse physiological processes and disease outcomes. Past studies have demonstrated the association between G6PDD and various other diseases, indicating a link between G6PDD to heightened oxidative stress by accelerating virus replication, worsening infection severity, and weakening the body's defense mechanisms. Such stress is critical in the destruction of red blood cells (RBCs) during infections and has a detrimental impact on redox signaling, ultimately impacting cell health and promoting cancer development. Furthermore, it impairs endothelial function by lowering the nitric oxide (NO) level and increasing stress, resulting in detrimental cardiac consequences and reduced myocardial antioxidant capacity. Because ROS contributes to inflammation, this imbalance causes conditions such as early atherosclerosis. It also compromises the functionality of NO-regulated bronchodilators and conditions such as G6PDD exacerbate the risks of kidney damage. Elevated ROS levels can also induce harm in retinal tissues, blood vessels, brain cells, and Beta-cells, hence quickening the progression of diseases like Diabetic Retinopathy. Furthermore, oxidative stress plays a significant role in cerebral ischemic pathogenesis, contributing to neurodegenerative disorders. Additionally, decreased NADPH level is vital for NO synthesis as it can impact blood vessel relaxation and can potentially lead to ischaemic priapism. Investigating the association between G6PDD and other medical conditions is crucial as it helps to identify possible approaches to mitigate oxidative stress, thereby preventing associated complications and diseases, particularly in situations where current treatment options are insufficient. In this research, a laminate composite has been prepared, using unsaturated polyester resin (UP) as a matrix reinforced with Kevlar fibers in different number of layers, glass fibers were added to the optimum product, by replacing one of the layers of Kevlar Fibers with a layer of Glass Fibers. Hand Lay-up method was used to prepare the test samples. To evaluate the composite material properties, tensile, hardness, impact, optical microscope tests were done. The results of composite made of polyester reinforced with Kevlar Fibers show that the mechanical properties (Tensile strength, Modulus of elasticity, Hardness, Impact strength) increase with increasing the number of reinforced layers. The best experimental values ofthe mechanical properties (Tensile strength, Modulus of elasticity, Hardness, Impact strength) were (190 MPa, 1.72 GPa, 79.25, and 68.75KJ/m2) respectively, for composite with three layers of Kevlar Fibers and then followed by composite with the sequence of layers (kevlar-glass-kevlar) and its mechanical properties (Tensile strength, Modulus of elasticity, Hardness, Impact strength) were (175.5 MPa, 1.69 GPa, 80, and 59.1 KJ/m2) respectively, Optical microscope shows welldistribution ofreinforcedlayers in composite.

Fiber reinforced polymer composite is an important material for structural application. The diversified application of FRP composite has taken center of attraction for interdisciplinary research. However, improvements on mechanical properties of this class of materials are still under research for different applications. In this paper we have modified the epoxy matrix by Al2O3, SiO2 and TiO2 nano particles in glass fiber/epoxy composite to improve the mechanical and physical properties. The composites are fabricated by hand lay-up method. It is observed that mechanical properties like flexural strength, hardness are more in case of SiO2 modified epoxy composite compare to other nano modifiers, were physical properties like density, water absorption are more in case of TiO2 modified epoxy composite. This may be because of smaller particle size of silica compare to others.

In the present study, composites were prepared by Hand lay-up molding. The composites constituents were epoxy resin as the matrix, 3% volume fractions of Glass Fibers (G.F) as re enforcement and 2%, 4%, 6% volume fraction of micro powder (Aluminum Oxide Al2O3, Silicon Oxide SiO2 and Titanium Oxide TiO2) as filler. Studied the, hardness test, flexural strength, density, water absorption measurements and tests were conducted to reveal their values for each type of composite material. The results showed that the non – reinforced epoxy have lower properties than nano composites material. Measured density results had show an incremental increase with volume fraction increase and water absorption, hardness, and flexural strength had show an incremental increase with volume fraction increase and with smaller particle size.

The objective of this research is to study GF / EP nano and micro silicon dioxide (SiO2)composites were prepared with different volume percentage of nano and micro SiO2 powder (2,4,and 6 wt.% ). Atomic force microscopy techniques was used to measure the grain size of nano SiO2 powder (average diameter 38nm) and particle size analyzer techniques was used to measure the grain size of micro SiO2 powder (average diameter 6.069µm). Erosive wear behavior of this composite under three different impingement angles 30°, 60° and 90°and three angular silica sand abrasive particle sizes approximately 425, 600 and 850 μm and hardness (shore D) were study.In general the erosion wear of micro composites have lower resistance erosion than nanobased Materialcomposites other. Erosion resistance increase as the volume fraction increase. Nano composites of GF / EP with SiO2 have many advantages over micro composites from the view point of wear and hardness tests. The worn surface features of unfilled and filled G-E composites were examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and results indicates more severe damage to matrix and glass fiber in unfilled composite system as compared to SiO2 filled composites.
