Experimental and numerical studies of combustion process in a vortex flow device have been developed. The modelling part of the study has been performed by means of ANSYS Fluent package. Fuel droplet trajectories and the flow pattern on their motions have been modeled by the function ?injection?. The combustion process utilized the k-? turbulence model. A special trend on the effect of the vortex generator blade orientation on the gross process has been developed. It has been established that optimal process performance (high air excess ratio and low NOx emissions) could be attained with an angle of the vortex generator blade orientation, especially with respect to the minimization of NOx emissions.

Metal plate heating by new microflare burner has been studied experimentally and by CFD simulations, additionally, concentrations of NOx were measured to compare conventional and microflare burners. In addition, the article provides a numerical simulation of the combustion of a microflame burner. It has been demonstrated that microflare burners are more efficient and allows more uniform heating of metal plates. The comparison of NOx concentrations of conventional and microflare burners indicate better performance of the latter.

The issues of combustion processes and the organization of the combustion workflow in diesel engines are relevant in view of the tightening of economic and environmental requirements for them. The problem of saving liquid fuels remains one of the most acute in the provision of fuel and energy resources. The development of highly efficient methods for organizing work processes when burning natural gas in a compressed or cryogenic state in the cylinders of internal combustion piston engines and determining ways to further reduce toxic emissions, increase fuel efficiency and reliability in promising gas engines is an urgent task. Mathematical modeling of liquid fuel combustion is a complex task, since it requires taking into account a large number of complex interrelated processes and phenomena. The article presents a simple 3-D model of cylinder diesel tractor engine D 144, the re- sults of numerical simulation of combustion of liquid and gaseous fuel in the cylinder of the diesel engine D-144. The article presents the results of modeling, including graphs of the dependence of nitrogen oxides, particles in outgoing gases, depending on the consumption of gaseous fuel in the form of pure methane. Additionally, tempe- rature and velocity contours are shown. The corresponding conclusions are made.

The article presents the research results related to the influence of turbulence on the efficiency of the combustion chamber of gas turbine. An artificial increase in the intensity of turbulence is considered as a way to improve the formation of a fuel-air mixture. Turbulent flow is formed due to the installation of guide swirlers at the entrance to the device for creating a fuel-air mixture ? a micro module. The angle of rotation of the swirler blades is selected. Theoretical research, mathematical software modelling, as well as an aerodynamic experiment have been carried out. As a result, design solutions are provided that significantly increase the efficiency and reliability of the gas turbine combustion chamber. In the course of the study, guide vanes were selected, and their design was established. The recommended swing angle of the swirler guide vanes is 40?. The recommended depth of the fuel injector inside the chamber is 1.0 gauge.

The results of laboratory studies carried out to identify the possibility and effectiveness of technologies for the complex recycling of components of flue gases and wastewater from thermal power plants and industrial boilers are presented. The following factors were investigated: the degree of saturation of water solutions with carbon dioxide, the efficiency of using these solutions for the regeneration of cation exchangers, the properties of regeneration solutions intended for the regeneration of cation exchange filters prepared using components of flue gases obtained from the combustion of organic fuel in the laboratory by saturating water of various compositions, the degree of saturation of condensate and waste water with components of flue gases, as well as the degree of regeneration of cation exchangers with such regeneration solutions. After research in the laboratory, a laboratory installation was created in an industrial environment to determine the properties of solutions obtained from wastewater and flue gases obtained after production processes at a power plant. The technologies were developed for the complex recycling of flue gases and waste water from thermal power plants with the production of carbon dioxide with a purity of 99.9%, technical nitrogen with a purity of 95%, special solutions for the regeneration of cation exchangers in water purification plants of industrial enterprises. The results obtained make it possible to minimize the volume of emissions into the atmosphere and the volume of waste water from thermal power plants

In recent years, the gas turbine power plant has been increasingly used in various industries in Kazakhstan. The reasons for this are: thermal efficiency; simplicity of the thermal scheme and design; small mass per power unit; high maneuverability; low toxicity; relatively simple automation of operation. This paper presents the experimental study results of a two-tier air burner as the part of the gas turbine engine combustion chamber at burning liquid fuel. ? new design of a microflame device was developed. Two-tier burner makes possible the combustion process in a number of discrete zones, i.e. microflame combustion. During the experiment, the installation angles of the blades of the external and internal registers, as well as the ratio of the coefficients of excess air in the tiers, were changed. The experimental studies of a two-tier burner confirmed the possibility to increase fuel combustion efficiency, a low degree of temperature field unevenness and to decrease NOx emission.

Experiments on fuel effects flame stabilization processes, NOx generation and temperature at combustion chamber outlet when using a group of three V-gutter flame holders have been reported.
