Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between levels of anxiety, sleep quality and musculoskeletal pain of university students during the Covid-19 pandemic.Material and Method: The cross-sectional and descriptive study was conducted between February 15-May 15, 2021 with 316 students studying in two health services vocational schools of an university. The research data were collected using a questionnaire form including Personal Identification Form, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, State and Trait Anxiety Inventory, The Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire. The data were analyzed with Spearman correlation analysis and Students’s t test. Findings: The participants' mean State Anxiety score was 40,4±111 (20-76), and Trait Anxiety mean score was 44,8±9,2 (22-57). The mean Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score was 7,9±2,8 (6-10). The areas where students stated most pain and discomfort were back, waist and neck regions. It was found that as the total score of state and trait anxiety increased, sleep quality worsened. It was determined that the state and trait anxiety scores of the students who described pain, soreness and tenderness in the last 12 months in all defined musculoskeletal system regions except the elbows were high. Conclusion: The study showed that the relationship between students' anxiety, sleep quality and musculoskeletal pain levels during the Covid-19 outbreak. This study has a critical value in terms of showing the increase in musculoskeletal problems with the decrease in physical activity and the relationship between this situation and anxiety levels, and also showing that it will be important to determine the anxiety levels of students in the treatment of sleep disorders. In this process, it can be said that arranging desk exercise programs for students can be beneficial for both musculoskeletal problems and anxiety levels, thus improving their sleep quality., Amaç: Bu çalışma, üniversite öğrencilerinin Covid-19 pandemisi sırasında kaygı düzeyleri, uyku kalitesi ve kas-iskelet ağrıları arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemeyi amaçladı. Background: For initiation and continuation of breastfeeding, it is important that women decide on the method of feeding the infant before gestation. Objective: The purpose of the study was to determine the smoking pattern of pregnant womenand its influence on infant feeding attitude. Design And Setting: Cross-sectional study was conducted with pregnant women. Method: Thiscross-sectional study was conducted with 318 pregnant women between 15 August and 31 October 2019 in Turkey. Data was collected by the "Descriptive Information Form" and the "The Iowa Infant Feeding Attitude Scale (IIFAC). Chi-square test and logistic regression analyses were used for data analysis. Results: Young ages, being housewife and not cigarette smoking increased the risk in terms of neutral or negative attitude to breastfeeding. As two thirds of women declared neutral attitude to breast feeding, interventions to increase breastfeeding decisions should target all pregnant women especially at younger ages. Conclusions: Young ages, being a housewife and not cigarette smoking have increased the risk in terms of neutral or negative attitude towards breastfeeding. In this study, although those who smoke before and during pregnancy have a more positive attitude towards breastfeeding, it is recommended that healthcare professionals take into account the smoking factor, which negatively affects the breastfeeding tendency, in their breastfeeding training during pregnancy. Health care related infections are extremely important for health care providers because of the economic burden caused by increasing the morbidity and mortality of patients and increasing the length of hospital stay. They are preventable by taking appropriate control measures. According to the studies, the rate of health care related infection in our country varies between 1% and 16.5%. In some intensive care units this number is increasing. In US hospitals where effective infection control programs were applied, were found to have a 35% reduction in circulatory and surgical site infections, 31% in urinary tract infections, 27% in lower respiratory tract infections, and a total decrease of 32%. Concepts such as “bundle approach”, “standardized infection rate” and “cumulative attributable difference” are important in preventing healthcare related infections. In addition it is also possible to set targets and make comparisons at national level with the standardized infection rate and cumulative attributable difference criteria obtained by effective surveillance practices. In this review, epidemiology and surveillance studies of healthcare related infections are discussed., Sağlık hizmeti ilişkili enfeksiyonlar (SHİE) hastaların morbidite ve mortalitesini arttırıp hastanede kalış süresini arttırmasına bağlı oluşturduğu ekonomik yük nedeniyle sağlık hizmeti sunan kurumlar için son derece önemlidir.

Tartışma ve Sonuç: Ultrasonografi ilesaptanan dolu/boş mesane detrusor kalınlık oranları, mesane disfonksiyonu tanısınacinsiyetten bağımsız olarak katkı sağlamaktadır., Aim: Although evaluating bladder dysfunction in children withultrasonography is feasible, effects of sex differences on the bladder wallmeasurements and diagnosis are still unknown. This study aimed to measurebladder dysfunction parameters in children by ultrasonography and determine thepossible effects of sex on the diagnostic performance. Materials and Methods: The study included 64 children diagnosed withbladder dysfunction (female/male: 46/18; age: 7.8±2.5, 4–16 years) and 11healthy children (female/male: 7/4; age: 9.9±4.4, 4–17 years). The anterior, posterior and both lateral walls of the bladder were measured using US beforeand after urinating. The full-to-empty ratios (FER) of wall thickness were calculated.Statistical data analysis and receiver operating characteristic analysis wereperformed, and the measurements were evaluated for sex-based differences. Results: Intergroup data analysis showed that the FER was consistentlydifferent between the patients and healthy children, but not between the twosexes. The FER cut-off thresholds (with sensitivity and specificity values) foranterior, posterior, right lateral, and left lateral detrusor were 0.321 (75%,73%), 0.401 (70%, 63%), 0.328 (73%, 65%), and 0.321 (75%, 65%) mm, respectively. The detrusor thicknesses varied between females and males within each groupirrespective of whether the bladder was full or empty. The same was also truefor the FER. Discussion and Conclusion: Ultrasound-basedFER measurement of bladder wall thickness is significantly useful in thediagnosis of bladder dysfunction, irrespective of sex.

Anahtar kelimeler: ağızsağlığı, diş sağlığı araştırmaları, diş hekimliği öğrencileri, sağlık anketleriCOMPARISON OF THE INFORMATION, ATTITUDE ANDBEHAVIORS OF DENTAL STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS ON ORAL AND DENTAL HEALTH INDENTAL STUDENTS’ FIRST AND THIRD YEARSAbstractAim: Dental students should be able tocollect their oral and dental health education and transfer them to theirsurroundings, to their families and friends for proper development of oral anddental health consciousness in society. When this situation has been taken intoconsideration, it was aimed to investigate the changes in oral and dentalhealth attitudes and behaviors of dental students and to investigate theeffects of these changes on their families when they progressed from the firstto third years in this study.Material and Methods: In thiscross-sectional study where the same group was evaluated in two differentperiods, questionnaire forms were used as data collection tools. In the firstphase of the study, 23 first year students and 71 households living with thesestudents participated in the study. In the second phase, which took place twoyears later, 15 students and 49 households participated in the research. Aquestionnaire with 49 questions consisting of three parts and a questionnairewith 24 questions consisting of two parts for the households were used. Results: While 69.6% (n = 16) of the studentsthought that oral and dental health information levels were insufficient intheir first year, only 6.7% (n = 1) had seen themselves inadequate when theyadvanced to third years. Whencompared to the first and third years of students and households, floride contentof toothpaste and knowing this, and period of last visit to the dentist havechanged positively and found statistically significant. In addition, the periodof toothbrushing were found to have changed positively in households and foundstatistically significant. Conclusion: In our study, during the educationprocess of the students, positive change in the oral and dental health in thehousehold was determined. This change in households has shown that dentalstudents can contribute to the improvement of health, even when they are intheir third grade, in their most basic state before graduation. Therefore, this study aimed to determine oral health status and OHRQoL in a group of adolescent workers. Methods. This cross-sectional study was conducted in an apprentice training center in western Turkey between December 2016 and January 2017. The study group population was 585, and the sample size was 514 students between 14 and 18 years old. The Decayed, Missing, and Filled Teeth (DMFT) Index, the Turkish version of the Oral Health Impact Profile-14 (OHIP-14), and a form requesting the socio-demographic information of the students were used as data collection tools. Permissions were obtained from the relevant school, parents, students, and ethical committee. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Student's t-test, and the Pearson correlation coefficient. Results. The results showed significant relationships between the tooth brushing frequency, dental visit frequency, dental trauma history, smoking, and the OHIP-14 subdomains (p < 0.05). Conclusion. Poor oral health and a lack of good oral health attitudes may have negative impact on the oral health related quality of life (OHRQoL) of working adolescents. Dental health education programs in collaboration with schools and dental health services may be beneficial for promoting oral health and improving the OHRQoL of working adolescents.
