The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted economies worldwide, particularly the supply chains (SCs) of various industries. This research was aimed at investigating the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the manufacturing SC in Malaysia. The study employed an optimisation model to simulate the effects of various movement control orders (MCOs) on the SC. Through an analysis using the SC disruption simulation model, it became evident that an optimal recovery plan depends largely on both the recovery duration and manufacturing capacity. The longer the recovery duration, the longer the optimal recovery plan that is needed if the manufacturing capacity is not considerable. Moreover, the number of backorders and sales lost will increase as well if the disruption cannot be recovered within a short period of time. Based on the simulation results, some suggestions have been proposed to mitigate the impact of an adverse disruption and strengthen the SC. These include having emergency stock to prevent stock-outs and utilising inventory strategies to overcome the issue of raw material shortages. In addition, manufacturers can reduce the total cost of recovery by adjusting the optimal manufacturing capacity to ensure customer demand can be met with minimal losses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The technique for site surveys at telecommunication towers in Malaysia has always been the conventional way rather than the new technique. A Radio Frequency (RF) site survey is arranging and scheming a wireless network to administer a wireless elucidation that will give the necessary circumstances. The results of these RF readings using a spectrum analyser to determine the non-overlapping frequencies when planning for a new RF transmission later. The current RF observation process may be time-consuming, but the safety and accuracy could be improved, affecting cost and quality. There have been many past tests that have used drones as tools to carry tools according to their respective objectives based on previous research, and most carry an improvement. The information gathered on whether the conventional or the new technique is more sustainable, which based on a case study on several similar sites using two distinct techniques, the conventional and a drone, as carrier agents of measurement tools. From the comparison, the RF scanning survey using the drone technique was much faster in execution, cheaper, and collected better data than the conventional method. The objective of this study is to conduct a systematic literature review (SLR) to identify the barriers and critical success factors that influence in the implementation of Lean Supply Chain Management (LSCM) practices in the industry. Through the analysis systematic literature review, it is hoped to identify the main gaps related to LSCM implementation in literature and industry and also discusses the relevance of research in this topic for indicating the future research direction. A SLR method was used, developed and determined. It is about 48 research articles were analyzed. The content of the present literature was reviewed, critically analyzed and synthesized from the perspective of barrier and critical success factors that influence the implementation of LSCM. Based on the extensive systematic review of the literature, we discovered the consistency data between Barriers and Critical Success Factors. This study strengthens the body of knowledge on the issue and consolidates the key LSCM activities, extending previous studies on LSCM barriers and critical success factors associated with its implementation. The clear identification of these topics can allow researchers and practitioners to predict occasional problems and to set the right standards for the implementation of the LSCM. The supply chain is a network that involves organizations, resources, activities and technologies in the creation and sale of products, from suppliers of raw materials to subsequent manufacturers to consumers through delivery. However, supply chains are often vulnerable to risk of uncertainty. Risk in the supply chain is the exposure to the occurrence of a loss or injury that would affect the overall supply chain of the supply chain. In this study, the supply chain is assessed through analysis of the risks occurring in the supply chain in the real industry. The purpose of this study is to identify the existing risks in the supply chain in the food manufacturing industry in Malaysia. This study was conducted through interviews and questionnaires. Information and data obtained are used for risk analysis to identify the types of risks encountered in the supply chain through the Analytical Hierarchical Process Technique (AHP) method. In conclusion, the risk analysis in the supply chain can determine the highest risk types in the supply chain which is the risk of competition among companies (53%) and factors that cause such risks are competition from other manufacturers (86%) as well as market entry (14%). Container Terminal is a specialized port facility for container vessels to load and unload shipping containers. Yard cranes, terminal tractors and quay cranes are used to transport container between wharf and yard and vice-versa. Quay cranes' container handling speed is considered as the performance of container terminals commonly indicated as Moves per Hour (MPH). As such, quay cranes with high reliability and availability is paramount to ensure desired container handling performance is achieved. However, in many container terminals the performance of quay cranes is impacted due to lack of maintenance, spare parts and timely refurbishment, retrofitting or replacement of deteriorating components or the quay cranes itself. This paper attempts to propose the appropriate maintenance activities to be carried out and the performance of the quay cranes are monitored to detect impending performance deterioration and action to be taken. The approach is based on evaluation of 12 months operational data of breakdown frequency, breakdown hours, operating hours, container moves and downtime. The correlation analysis for reliability has good negative correlation (-0.75) with breakdown frequency and breakdown hours has strong correlation (0.93) with breakdown frequency. Cold storage is deemed as one of the foremost components of the cold chain to maintaining the temperature of the perishable food. Each group of perishable food has its particular parameters of storing, which if not maintained are dangerous for the consumers and may result in the withdrawal of batches of goods from the market. This paper aims to show an overview of the optimal temperature for each group of perishable food. The grouping of perishable food is dairy product (4°C), fish and marine product (-18°C), leafy vegetables and citrus fruits (0-2°C), tropical fruits (5-13°C), frozen vegetables (-18°C) and ice cream products (-29°C). The awareness of the optimal temperature for each group of perishable food needs to be better understood by public sector planners and private sector investors to prevent the high cost of operation in maintaining the temperature of the cold storage which will affect the quality of the perishable food.
