Road network, with a high percentage of urban space, is one of the main elements in urban structure and activities, and by making connections between different parts of each city, in addition to the role of connectivity and access, they also have a social and cultural role and are closely linked to urban design. Streets have been used not only as communication lines but also as a space for social interaction whose security is effective in improving the quality of the environment and urban life. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of urban design on road and traffic safety and to compare the views of citizens and urban planning experts on the factors influencing the improvement of road and traffic safety. In the current research that is applied, the descriptive-survey research method is used. The statistical society of this study is Tunalı Hilmi Commercial-Residential Street in Ankara, which random sampling, field, and library studies were used. The questionnaire was used for data analysis. At the end of the research, the AHP method and SPSS and EXPERT CHOICE software were used for data analysis. The results of the distributed questionnaire analysis in the statistical society emphasize urban design intervention to improve the quality of roads at a minimum cost.Keywords: Transport, Urban Accidents, Quality of Urban Space, Road Safety, Responsive Urban Design.

Motorlu araç kullanımı çok eski bir geçmişe sahip olmamakla birlikte, artan kent nüfusu ve genişleyen kentsel mekanların da etkisiyle kentsel hareketlilik günden güne artmakta, bu durum da trafik güvenliğini kentlerin önemli bir problemi olarak karşımıza çıkarmaktadır. Trafik güvenliğinin oluşturulmasında/artırılmasında pek çok faktörün etkisi bulunmaktadır. Bu faktörlerden birisi de kentsel tasarımdır. Kentsel tasarım 20. yüzyılın ilk yarısında genellikle kent estetiğini düzenleme aracı olarak ele alınmışsa da günümüzde; kentteki yaşam kalitesinin yükseltilmesi, sürdürülebilir bir kentsel çevrenin yaratılması, kente kimlik ve özgünlük kazandırılması, kolay erişim ve dolaşımın eşit ve güvenli bir şekilde sağlanması ile kentte toplumsal aidiyet duygusunun yükseltilmesi ilkelerinin ortaya konulduğu bir kavram olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, politika üretici, karar verici ve uygulayıcılara yarar sağlamak üzere, kentsel tasarım uygulamalarının trafik güvenliğine etkilerinin, ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada öncelikle trafik güvenliğine yönelik kentsel tasarım ilkeleri, bileşenleri ve uygulamaları belirlenmiştir. Daha sonra Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi (AHP) yöntemi kullanılarak bu bileşenlerin birbirlerine göre önem dereceleri tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmada ayrıca, trafik güvenliği-kentsel tasarım ilişkisini yol kullanıcı ve uzman bakış açısıyla ortaya koymak üzere Türkiye ve İran’da anket çalışması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma alanı olarak Türkiye’de Ankara-Tunalı Hilmi Caddesi seçilirken, İran’da benzer özelliklere sahip olan Zenjan-Deljoi Caddesi seçilmiş, anket sonuçları SPSS programı ile istatistiksel olarak analiz edilmiş, sonuçlar Türkiye ve İran üzerinden karşılaştırmalı olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Anket sonuçlarına göre; trafik güvenliğinin artırılmasında etkisi olan en önemli faktör, her iki ülke kullanıcılarına göre kentsel tasarım (%34), ikinci önemli faktör ise sürücü yaya ve yolcuların trafik güvenliğine yönelik eğitimleridir (%23,3). AHP sonuçlarına göre ise fiziki alt yapı kriterinde en önemli gösterge Türkiye’de platform ve şerit genişliği iken İran’da şerit sürekliliğidir. Many factors have an effect on the creation / improvement of traffic safety. One of these factors is urban design. Although urban design was generally considered as a means of organizing urban aesthetics in the first half of the 20th century, today it is accepted as a concept in which the principles of improving the life qualities in cities. Such as, creating a sustainable urban environment, giving cities an identity and originality, ensuring easy access and circulation in an equal and safe manner, and increasing the sense of social belongings in the city. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the effects of urban design applications on traffic safety to benefit policy makers, decision makers and implementers. In this study, urban design principles for transportation are determined firstly, and then a survey is carried out in Turkey and Iran to determine the effects of these policies in road users and traffic safety experts. While Tunali Hilmi Avenue in Turkey is elected as the study area, Zanjan-Deljoi Street, which has similar features in Iran is also selected and surveys are applied to road users in these areas. The data which belongs to road users in both countries are analyzed statistically with the SPSS program, Analytical Hierarchy. Process (AHP) method was used in the study with experts. In this study, the relationship between urban design and traffic safety, through Iran and Turkey are evaluated comparatively. First, urban design principles, components and applications regarding traffic safety were identified. Second, important factors of urban design components relative to each other were calculated via analytical hierarchy process (AHP) method. In addition, surveys were conducted both in Turkey and Iran in order to reveal the relationship between traffic safety and urban design with regard to both road users’ and experts’ viewpoint. The study fields in both countries were majorly similar, Ankara-Tunalı Hilmi street in Turkey and Zenjan-Deljoi street in Iran. Datas, collected via the survey, were statistically analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Results were assessed comparatively among data collected from both Turkey and Iran. Survey results suggest that the most important factor, elevating traffic safety according to traffic users of both countries, is urban design (%34)ç. The next important factors are the drivers’, pedestrians’ and passengers’ dispositions towards traffic safety (%23,3). Moreover, AHP results indicated the most significant factors across two countries within the following criteria: (i) psychical substructure, (ii) speed management, (iii) pedestrian transportation, (iv) bicycle transportation and (v) public transportation. These are (i) platform and lane width in Turkey vs. vertical traffic signs in Iran, (ii) speed limits in both countries, (iii) pedestrian signalization in Turkey vs. pedestrianization in Iran, (iv) separated bicycle roads in Turkey vs. bicycle signalization in Iran and (v) access convenience of public transportation stations in both countries.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the sustainable transport strategies ofTehran. A hybrid method based on the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process has beenused to prioritize strategies. The analytical hierarchy process is a structural methodfor organizing and analyzing complex decisions based on mathematics andpsychology. This was developed by Thomas L. Saaty in the 1970s and has beenwidely studied. The designed questionnaire has 6 sections, the sections are asfollows and completed by 44 experts: The main criteria are technical andtechnology, environment, quality, cost, administrative and organizational and time,and 4 solutions in the form of van, taxi, bus and urban train. The priority criteriaare as follows: cost, quality, time, technical and technological, environment,administrative and organizational. Prioritization provided by analytical hierarchy inthe form of urban train, bus, van and taxi. Considering that in developing countries,economic and financial factors are one of the main parameters affecting the entirecountry, the weight of this criterion is expected to be more than 34%. In theprioritization, the quality criterion is 25% in the second place, the time criterion is23% in the third place, the technical and technological is 9% in the fourth place,the environment is 7% in the fifth place and in the sixth place administrative andorganizational is 0%. The first solution is the 37% urban train and the secondsolution is the 18% bus, which reflects the focus on the first two solutions.Key words: Transportation Strategies, Tehran, FAHP, Evaluation

Bu çalışmada kimyasal buhar biriktirme yöntemi (CVD) ile nikel alt-taş üzerinde sentezlenen grafenin saydam iletken elektrot olarak kullanımını incelemek amacıyla ışık geçirgenliği ve tabaka direnci ölçüldü. İlk olarak nikel alt-taş beşer dakika boyunca sırasıyla aseton, deiyonize su ve isopropil alkolde bekletilerek temizlendi, daha sonra ise kaliteli grafen sentezini sağlamak amacıyla herhangi bir organik kalıntının kalmadığından emin olmak için plazma temizliği yapıldı. Plazma temizliğinin ardından iki fırınlı CVD sistemine nikel alt-taş yerleştirilerek sistem vakuma alındı. Daha sonra, alt-taş 60 dak. ısıtma işlemine tabi tutuldu. Isıtma işleminden sonra 30 dak. tavlama işlemi başlatılmış ve hemen ardından 20 dak. büyütme işlemi gerçekleştirildi. Bu işlemler boyunca 20 sccm Argon gazı ve 80 sccm Hidrojen gazı sisteme verildi. Büyütme işlemi esnasında karbon kaynağı olarak metan gazı kullanıldı. Saydam iletken elektrot olarak en uygun olabilecek grafen sentezi için beş farklı büyütme sürecinde farklı değerlerde sisteme verildi. Bu değerler 100 sccm’den 20 sccm’e 20 sccm aralıklarla değiştirildi. Sentezlenen numune setleri öncelikle Raman spektroskopisi cihazında incelenmiş olup, 20 sccm metan gazı değerinde sentezlenen grafenin tek katmanlı olduğu gözlendi. Saydam iletken elektrot olarak grafenin tabaka direnci ve ışık geçirgenliği temassız tabaka direnci ölçüm cihazında ölçülmüş olup, tek tabakalı grafenin ışık geçirgenliği %96,10 olarak bulundu. In this study the synthesis and characterization of graphene as transparent conductive electrodes were investigated via chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technique. Firstly, Nickel substrate was cleaned with acetone, deionized water and isopropyl alcohol for 5 minutes, respectively. Furthermore, plasma cleaning was applied to ensure removing any organic contaminations on the nickel surface. Nickel substrate was loaded to CVD furnace and pumped down. Then, CVD furnace was heated to synthesize graphene using 20 sccm Argon and 80 sccm Hydrogen gases for 60 minutes. Nickel substrate was annealed for 30 minutes with the same gases. Growth time was chosen as 20 minutes with 20 sccm Argon and 80 sccm Hydrogen. Flow rate of methane gas was decreased gradually from 100 sccm to 20 sccm to grow high quality single layer graphene. Sets of samples were fabricated and then they were characterized by Raman Spectroscopy and the graphene grown with 20 sccm Hydrogen was found to be single layer. The electrical and optical properties of the graphene film were measured by using contactless sheet resistance and optical transmittance tester. As a result, transmittance of single layer graphene was found to be 96,10%.

Bu çalışma, atomik katman biriktirme yöntemi ile Si alttaş üzerine farklı sıcaklıklarda büyütülen ZnO, TiO2 ve HfO2 metal oksitlerin karakterizasyonunu ve diyot özelliklerinin incelenmesini kapsamaktadır. Bu amaçla ilk olarak Al2O3 kimyasal yöntemlerle temizlenen Si alttaşlar üzerine yalıtım katmanı olarak ALD ile büyütüldü. Daha sonra bu tez çalışmasında kullanılacak olan metal oksit ince filmlerden ZnO, TiO2 ve HfO2, atomik katman biriktirme yöntemi ile Al2O3 yalıtım tabakasının üzerine büyütüldü ve bu oluşan p-n eklemlerden Schottky diyotlar oluşturuldu. Elde edilen yarı iletken metal oksit ince filmlerin yapısal karakterizasyonları XRD ve XPS ile filmlerin yapısal yüzey morfolojisi AFM ve SEM, spektral tepkileri ve optiksel özellikleri UV- Visible Spektrometre, elektriksel analizleri büyütülen ince filmlerin yüzeyine uygun maske yerleştirilerek gümüş (Ag) kontaklar alınarak akım-gerilim (I-V) ölçümleriyle yapılmıştır. Kaplanan ince filmlerin kalınlık karakterizasyonu elipsometre ile tespit edilmiştir. ZnO ve TiO2 ince filmlerinin elektrisel özellikleri 80°C’de ve 250°C’de başarılı bir şekilde diyot davranışı sergilemiştir. En iyi diyot özelliğinin düşük sıcaklıkta büyütülen filmlerde olduğu görülmüştür. ZnO filminin polikristal yapıda, TiO2 ve HfO2 ince filmlerinin amorf yapıda olduğu görülmüştür. Bu çalışmanın, ALD ile Schottky diyot uygulamaları ve optoelektronik uygulamaları için faydalı bir çalışma olacağına ve ileride düşük sıcaklıklarda daha iyi elektriksel özelliklere sahip diyot üretimi için iyi bir kaynak olacağına inanılmaktadır This study covers the characterization and diode properties of ZnO, TiO2 and HfO2 metal oxides grown on Si substrate by atomic layer deposition method. For this purpose, Al2O3 was first grown by ALD as an insulating layer on Si substrate which were cleaned by chemical methods. Then, ZnO, TiO2 and HfO2 from the metal oxide thin films to be used in this thesis were grown on the Al2O3 insulation layer by atomic layer deposition and Schottky diodes were formed from these formed p-n junctions. Structural characterization of semiconductor metal oxide thin films by XRD and XPS, structural surface morphology of films by AFM and SEM, spectral responses and optical properties by UV-Visible Spectrometer, electrical analyzes were made by applying current-voltage (I-V) measurements by taking silver (Ag) contacts by placing an appropriate mask on the surface of the grown thin films. Thickness characterization of coated thin films was determined by ellipsometer. The electrical properties of the ZnO and TiO2 thin films successfully exhibited diode behavior at 80 °C and 250 °C. It has been found that the best diode property is in films grown at low temperature. ZnO film was polycrystalline and TiO2 and HfO2 thin films were found to be amorphous. It is believed that this study will be a useful study for Schottky diode applications and optoelectronic applications with ALD, and it will be a good reference for diode production with better electrical properties at low temperatures in the future

Nano boyutta ortaya çıkan yüksek yüzey alanı/hacim oranı, yüksek gözeneklilik gibi üstün özellikleri sayesinde biyouyumlu ve biyobozunur nanofiberler, başta biyomedikal uygulamalar olmak üzere birçok endüstriyel alanda kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, kemik ekstraselüler matrisine benzer özellikte yapay bir doku iskelesi elde etmek amacıyla kitosan (CH), polietilen oksit (PEO) ve nanohidroksiapatit (nHAp) kullanılmıştır. Sırasıyla 50:50, 60:40, 70:30, 80:20 ve 90:10, oranlarında CH:PEO çözeltileri hazırlanmıştır ve daha sonra bu çözeltilere 100 mg nanohidroksiapatit eklenerek CH:PEO/nHAp çözeltileri hazırlanmıştır. Ayrıca nanohidroksiapatitin fiber yapısına etkisinin araştırılması için en uygun fiber morfolojisi gösteren 60:40 numunesine 200 mg nHAp eklenmiştir. Hazırlanan çözeltilerden elektroeğirme yöntemi ile nanofiberler elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen nanofiberler SEM, FTIR ve XRD ile incelenmiştir. SEM görüntülerine göre en düzgün, sürekli ve boncuksuz fiber morfolojisi 60:40 numunesine aittir. 60:40 numunesinde aynı zamanda nHAp taneciklerinin yapıya iyi bir şekilde entegre olduğu görülmektedir. (CH:PEO)50:50/100 mg nHAp, (CH:PEO)60:40/100 mg nHAp, (CH:PEO)60:40/200 mg nHAp numuneleri için ortalama çap değerleri sırasıyla 461±17 nm, 195±11 nm, 217±11 nm olarak hesaplanmıştır. Nanofiber spektrumlarında kitosana özgü amit bantlarının dışında geniş hidroksil ve amin grubu bantları, hidroksiapatite ait fosfat grubu, PEO' nun eter grubuna katkıları ve etilen grubuna ait gerilme bantları net bir şekilde görülmektedir. XRD sonuçları üretilen nanofiberler amorf özellik sergilediğini göstermektedir. Aynı zamanda yapıda % 1 ve % 2 oranında bulunan nanohidroksiapatit taneciklerinin en yüksek şiddetli pikleri 2Ɵ=31,7° ve 2Ɵ=32,1°' de nanofiberlerin XRD grafiklerinde ayırt edilebilmektedir. Bu pikler hidroksiapatit taneciklerinin elektroeğirme süreci sonrasında kristal fazını koruduğunu göstermektedir. Biocompatible and biodegradable nanofibers are used in many industrial fields, especially biomedical applications, due to their superior properties such as high surface area/volume ratio and high porosity. In this study, chitosan (CH), polyethylene oxide (PEO) and nano-hydroxyapatite (nHAp) were used to obtain an artificial scaffold similar to the bone extracellular matrix. CH:PEO solutions were prepared in a ratios of 50:50, 60:40, 70:30, 80:20, and 90:10, respectively. Then, 100 mg of nano-hydroxyapatite was added to these solutions to form CH: PEO/nHAp solutions. Besides, 200 mg of nHAp was added to the 60:40 sample which showed the most appropriate fiber morphology to investigate the effect of nano-hydroxyapatite on the fiber structure. Nanofibers were obtained from the prepared solutions by electrospinning. The nanofibers produced were examined by SEM, FTIR, and XRD. According to SEM results, the smoothest, continuous and non-bead fiber morphology belongs to the 60:40 sample. In this sample, ıt seems that nHAp particles successfully ıntegrated to structure of polymeric nanofiber. The average nanofiber diameters for the (CH:PEO)50:50/100 mg, (CH:PEO)60:40/100 mg nHAp, (CH:PEO)60:40/200 mg nHAp samples were determined 461±17 nm, 195±11 nm, 217±11 nm, respectively. Apart from amide bands peculiar to the chitosan, the wide hydroxyl and amine stretching regions, phosphate band that is characteristic of hydroxyapatite, vibration bands of ethylene and contributions of PEO to the region stretching of the ether group are clearly seen in the FTIR spectrum. The XRD analysis shows that the nanofibers are in the amorphous structure. In the XRD graph of nanofibers, at 2Ɵ= 31,7° and 2Ɵ=32,1° were sharp peaks and these peaks represented nano-hydroxyapatite which included at the ratio of %1 and %2 in nanofiber structure. XRD results indicated that the hydroxyapatite particles preserved its crystal structure after the electrospinning process.

Bu çalışmada, Çanakkale ili ve çevresinde yayılış gösteren bazı Ranunculus L. cinsine ait, R. ficaria subsp. ficariiformis, R. pedatus subsp. trojanus, R. marginatus, R. lateriflorus, R. ophioglossifolius, R. rumelicus, R. paludosus, R. peltatus subsp. fucoides, taksonlarının morfolojik incelemelerinde, bitki organlarının biyometrik ölçümleri yapılmış, sonuçlar istatistiksel olarak değerlendirilmiş ve flora kayıtlarından sapmalar belirlenirken, yeni biyometrik ölçümler ile flora kayıtlarına katkı sağlanmıştır. Ranunculus taksonlarının yapraklarında stoma indeksi, tarafımızdan ilk kez yapılmıştır. En yüksek stoma indeksi 159,46 ile R. ficaria subsp. ficariiformis'in alt yaprağında görülürken, en düşük stoma indeksi 21,26 ile R. peltatus subsp. fucoides'in alt yaprağında görülmüştür. Ranunculus taksonlarının anatomik çalışmalarında, bitkilerin kök, gövde ve yaprak kesitleri alınmış ve Ranunculus taksonlarının köklerinin kortekslerinin iri ve farklı şekilli parenkimatik hücreler tarafından oluşturulduğu ve öz kısımları trakeal elemanlar tarafından doldurulduğu görülmüştür. Bütün taksonların tipik özellikleri olarak, genellikle gövdelerindeki iletim demetlerinde trakeler iyi gelişmiş ve floem'in çevresi sklerenkimatik bir doku ile çevrildiği gözlenmiştir. Bütün taksonların yaprakları amfistomatik ve stomaları mezofitik tiptir ve genellikle floem çevresi sklerankimatik bir doku ile çevrilmiştir. Bütün taksonların yapraklarındaki iletim demetlerindeki ksilemde trakelerin gelişimi ileri seviyededir. Araştırdığımız taksonlarından R. ficaria subsp. ficariiformis, R. pedatus subsp. trojanus, R. marginatus'un tıbbi kullanım özellikleri olduğu görülmüştür. In this study, morphological examinations of some Ranunculus L. genus R. ficaria subsp. ficariiformis, R. pedatus subsp. trojanus, R. marginatus, R. lateriflorus, R. ophioglossifolius, R. rumelicus, R. paludosus, R. peltatus subsp. fucoides, of taxa distributed in and around Çanakkale province, biometric measurements of plant organs were made, results were evaluated statistically and deviations from flora records were determined, contributing to new biometric measurements and flora records. The stoma index on the leaves of the Ranunculus taxa was made for the first time by us. The highest stoma index was found on the lower leaf of R. ficaria subsp. ficariiformis with 159.46, while the lowest stoma index was found on the lower leaf of R. peltatus subsp. fucoides with 21.26. In the anatomical studies of the Ranunculus taxa, root, stem and leaf sections of the plants were taken and it was seen that the cortex of the roots belonging to the Ranunculus taxa were formed by large and different shaped parenchymal cells and the essence were filled by the tracheal elements. As typical characteristics of all taxa, it is observed that the trachea are well developed in the conveyance bundles in their stems, and the periphery of the phloem is surrounded by a sclerenchymatous texture. The leaves of all the taxa are amphistomatic and the stomata are mesophytic type and usually surrounded by a sclerenchymatous texture around the phloem. The development of the trachea in xylem in the transmission bundles of all the taxa leaves is advanced. From the taxa we searched, R. ficaria subsp. ficariiformis, R. pedatus subsp. trojanus, R. marginatus have been found to have medicinal properties. 91

Amaç: Sepsis; dünyaüzerinde en sık karşılaşılan ve mortalite oranı en yüksek hastalıktır. Yıllıkölüm nedenleri sıralamasında ilk sırada yer almaktadır. Maliyeti son dereceyüksektir ve her yıl yaklaşık %12 oranında artmaktadır. Sepsis tedavisininmaliyeti, toplam sağlık harcamalarının önemli bir kısmını oluşturmaktadır.Erken tanı, etken patojene yönelik erken antibiyotik başlanması tedavininbaşarısını etkileyen en önemli faktörlerdir. Biz bu çalışmamızda, yoğunbakımdaki sepsis hastalarında kaynaklarına göre maliyet farklarını araştırmayıamaçladık.Gereç ve Yöntem: Ahi EvranÜniversitesi Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Erişkin Genel Yoğun Bakım Ünitesinde(YBÜ) 24 saatten uzun süreyle 01.01.2015-31.12.2015 tarihleri arasında yatansepsis hastalarının dosyaları retrospektif olarak incelendi. Hastalarındemografik verileri, etken patojenleri, yatış süreleri, yoğun bakım sonuçları,kullandığı antibiyotikler, tetkik ücretleri, tedavi hizmeti ücretleri, yatakücretleri, ilaç ve sarf-malzeme ücretleri ayrı ayrı kaydedildi. Bulgular: Dönem içindeYBÜ’sinde yatan 670 hastanın 52’si (%7,8) sepsis tanısı ile yatmıştır. %51,9’u(n=27) kadın ve %48,1’i (n=25) erkektir. Hastaların; yaşlarının 73,2±12,6 [74(27–98)] olduğu bulunmuştur. %65,4’ü (n=34) 70 yaş ve üzerindedir. Saptanan ensık etken patojen Acinetobacter Baumanni’dir [ (n=17) (%32,7)]. Sepsis kaynağıolarak en sık %48,1(n=25) solunum sistemi saptanmıştır. Hastaların; yoğun bakımyatış sürelerinin 13,7±14,3 [10,5 (2–97)], Apache 2 Skorlarının 23,9±7,0 [24(9–39)], mortalite oranının %90,4 (n=47) olduğu bulunmuştur. Sepsis kaynaklarıarasında; yaş, yoğun bakım yatış süresi, Apache 2 skoru, mortalite oranları vetüm maliyet değerleri yönünden istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olmadığıbulunmuştur (p>0,05).Sonuç: Sepsis; kaynağı ne olursa olsunmortalitesi yüksek bir hastalıktır. Fatura toplamının ve ilaç toplam tutarınınönemli bir kısmını antibiyotik giderleri oluşturmaktadır., INTRODUCTION: Sepsis is the commonest disease with the highest mortality rate in the World. It is the leading cause of death annually. It has a high cost and increases by %12 each year. The cost of treatment of sepsis occupies majority of health expenditure. Early diagnosis, and immediate effective treatment against the susceptible pathogen are the major determinants of success in treatment.In the current study we aimed to determine the difference in the cost of treatment of sepsis according to etiological pathogen types in patients treated at intensive care unit (ICU).METHODS: Patients hospitalized in ICU for more than 24 hours at Ahi Evran University Training and Research Hospital between 01.01.2015 – 31.12.2015 diagnosed as sepsis were included in the study. Medical records were retrospectively analyzed. Demographic data, pathogen type, length of stay in hospital, results of ICU stay, antibiotics used, laboratory test costs, treatment maintenance costs, hospitalization costs, drug and medical assets costs were assessed.RESULTS: 670 patients were hospitalized at ICU in the given time period and 52 (7.8%) of them were diagnosed as sepsis. 51.9% (n=27) of the patients were female and 48.1% (n=25) of the patients were male. Mean age of the patients with sepsis was 73.2±12.6 [74(27-98)]. 65.4% (n-34) of the patients were older than 70 years. The most common pathogen isolated was Acinetobacter Baumanni [(n=1, 32.7%)] (Table 1). Respiratory system was the leading source of sepsis.[48.1%, n=25)]. The length of stay at ICU was 13.7±14.3 [10.5(2-97)], Apache scores were between 9 and 39 with a mean of 24 (23.9±7.0) and the mortality rate was 90.4% (n=47). No statistically significant difference was determined between the etiologic pathogen type and age, length of stay at ICU, Apache II score, mortality rate and total treatment cost.(p>0.05) (Table 2, Table 3)DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: Sepsis has a wery high mortality rate independent from the etiological pathogen. Majority of the treatment cost and drug costs are constituted by the antibiotics.
