To address the issue of low yield in the preparation of nanofiber materials using single-needle electrospinning technology, multi-needle electrospinning technology has emerged as a crucial solution for mass production. However, the mutual interference of multiple electric fields between the needles can cause significant randomness in the morphology of the produced nanofibers. To better predict the influence of electric field distribution on nanofiber morphology, simulation analysis of the multi-needle arrangement was conducted using finite element analysis (FEA) software. Nanofiber-coated yarn was produced continuously with the core yarn rotating. The water bath was utilized as the receiver of nanofibers on self-made water bath electrospinning equipment. The electric field distribution and mutual interference under seven different needle arrangements was simulated and analyzed by FEA software ANSYS Maxwell. The results indicated that when the needles were arranged diagonally in a staggered pattern and directly above the core yarn, the simulated electric field distribution was relatively uniform, with less mutual interference. The produced nanofibers exhibited a finer diameter and the diameter distribution was more concentrated. In addition, the nanofiber coating showed higher crystallinity and better mechanical properties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study investigates the relationship between seating arrangement and academic performance among Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) students at Eastern Samar State University - Guiuan Campus. Employing a descriptivecorrelational research design, the study aims to explore natural associations between seating configurations and academic outcomes, utilizing a survey questionnaire adapted from previous research. Data collection involved administering the questionnaire to 121 BEED students across different academic levels. Statistical analysis, including frequency counts, percentages, and the Pearson Correlation Coefficient, was employed to interpret the data. Findings indicate that students perceive seating arrangements as influential on their academic engagement and performance, particularly highlighting psychological comfort as a significant factor. Results from the survey reveal an overall positive perception towards seating arrangements, with most students agreeing on the effectiveness of their current seating setups. Academic performance, measured through General Weighted Average (GWA), shows a majority of students achieving proficient and very good ratings. Statistical analysis confirms a moderate correlation (r = 0.498, p = 0.059) between seating arrangement and academic performance, suggesting a significant relationship. This implies that while seating arrangement is not the sole determinant of academic success, it plays a noteworthy role in student outcomes. In conclusion, the study underscores the importance of considering seating arrangements in enhancing classroom dynamics and improving educational outcomes. It provides valuable insights for educators and educational policymakers to optimize learning environments. Recommendations include empowering students in seat choice, designing learner-centered seating plans, and enhancing school infrastructure to foster conducive learning environments. Future research directions are proposed to further explore experimental approaches and refine strategies for improving learning quality and processes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Determining the number of pieces after cutting a cake is a classical problem. Roberts provided an exact solution by computing the number of chambers contained in a plane cut by lines. About 88 years later, Zaslavsky even computed the f-polynomial of a hyperplane arrangement, and consequently deduced the number of chambers of that latter. Recently, Forge and Zaslavsky introduced the more general structure of topological hyperplane arrangements. This article computes the f-polynomial of such arrangements when they are transsective, and therefore deduces their number of chambers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ELECTRICAL load ,RENEWABLE energy sources ,STORAGE - Abstract
In the background of the global commitment to low-carbon renewable energy transformation, new energy sources such as distributed wind–solar storage and charging and single-phase loads, such as electric vehicles, are connected to the distribution network. Due to the asymmetric access of load and the randomness of load power consumption, the problem of three-phase imbalance is becoming more and more prominent, and the uncertainty is increasing. In this paper, by analyzing the three-phase load imbalance problem of the distribution network, starting from the cause of three-phase load imbalance, the three-phase imbalance calculation method of the distribution network is deduced. The access mode of a distributed power flow controller in the distribution network and the three-phase imbalance compensation method are studied. The control strategy of the distributed power flow controller for the three-phase imbalance control of the distribution network is proposed. The simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively control the three-phase asymmetry problem of the distribution network, the configuration is more flexible, and the capacity utilization rate is higher. PARTS of speech , *WAGES , *GOAL (Psychology) , *RESEARCH personnel , *LINGUISTS - Abstract
The arrangement seems familiar to the reader in terms of general understanding, but in the procedural approach and understanding the term, it requires careful attention to trace this term and clarify its features to the reader and researcher. Therefore, we tried to begin to understand its meaning through known research mechanisms. The Qur'anicsystems, its weaving, and its arrangement have been studied continuously by commentators and commentators, which has given the Qur'aniceloquence and miracle the vitality of giving and expanding consideration of the text in terms of tracing the aesthetics of the text, and revealing the essence of the semantic relationships of the sequences of sentences and their orders, or the relationship of a group of hierarchical linguistic elements. The commentators have paid attention to the arrangement of the Qur'anic verses. Discourse and explaining the benefits of this arrangement in terms of the regularity of the parts of speech and their connection to each other, which strengthens the connection and improves the image, knowledge of the value of each sentence, and rejection of what does not fall into it, The discourse aims, in order, to achieve a purpose in certain types of aesthetics of style that reveal the relationships and combination of the elements of the composition. Linguists believe that the arrangement of facts and sequences is governed by relationships subject to cognitive principles and consideration of the described conditions, which are: general and specific, part and whole, a complex group... as we usually see the sum of a thing before its parts. The general concept of arrangement does not mean that it is confined to the circle of the material dimension, but rather it has other moral requirements that are no less important than the material conception. Arrangement, composition, and organization are connotations that seek to achieve goals by arranging, composing, or organizing them. They all fall under the general meaning of arrangement and its concept, because the element of arrangement is a major component of any process. Organizational or compositional, and this is confirmed and proven by the linguistic lexical significance of the arrangement, which contains a semantic system that embracesAll of these concepts are expanded upon. ARRANGEMENT (Musical composition) , *MUSIC education , *INSTRUMENTAL music , *POPULAR music , *MUSICAL form , *BAROQUE music - Abstract
The purpose of the research. The paper reveals the features of the approaches of academic musicians to the creativity of ―The Beatles‖ and characterises the musical projects created on the basis of the song heritage of the legendary British group. The research methodology consists in the application of historical cultural, comparative and musical analytical methods, which allowed to reveal the academic potential of ―The Beatles‖ music and outline the ways and directions of academisation of their song creativity. The scientific novelty consists in the fact that for the first time academic interpretations of the songs of ―The Beatles‖ group, carried out by L. Berio, J. Bayless and P. Breiner, were characterised, and two approaches to musical transcriptions of the song heritage of the group were outlined - academic and academicized, the type corresponds to all the parameters of academic music, the second gravitates towards classical crossover as a direction of pop music. Conclusions. Among the numerous cover versions, transcriptions and paraphrases of ―The Beatles‖ music, a number of original musical interpretations are attractive, the authors of which turn to the Baroque style. The vocal cycle ―Beatles Songs‖ by L. Berio (1967), the instrumental albums ―Bach Meets the Beatles‖ (1984), ―Bach Meets the Beatles. Revisited‖ (2004) by J. Bayless and ―Beatles Go Baroque‖ (1993) by P. Breiner have already acquired the status of iconic. Their authors, who received a classical musical education, give priority to academic interpretive versions, where the songs of ―The Beatles‖ group are considered as thematic material, which becomes the basis for academic type compositions with classical musical dramaturgy formed in the instrumental music of the Modern period. A number of compositions, in which the basic features of a song are preserved, gravitate towards academicized type interpretations, approaching a classical crossover, and can represent both academic and pop musical creativity. The narrative and design of Cicero's overlooked collection of letters to his brother Quintus (henceforth, QFr.) demand investigation. Within each book, the constituent letters delineate the trajectory of Cicero's life, transitioning from his political prominence to his increasing irrelevance. This narrative unfolds not only within the micro-narratives of individual books but also across the macro-narrative of the entire collection. Containing only letters from Cicero to Quintus dated between 60/59–54 and featuring a notable resemblance to the Epistulae ad Atticum (henceforth, Att.) Books 2–4, QFr. , it can be argued, functions as both a 'microcosm' of Att. and its supplement. This article addresses these issues and argues that QFr. deserves a place alongside the 'major' Ciceronian collections. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PUBLIC sector ,ARCHETYPES - Abstract
Normative approaches have dominated research on collaborative innovation arrangements in the public sector, but actual practices remain underexplored and uncategorized. We conducted an inductive, in-depth study of 35 collaborative innovation arrangements originating from the public sector and categorized them into overarching archetypes. In creating this empirically grounded typology of collaborative innovation archetypes, we found that public organizations prefer project- and programme-based development archetypes, and focus primarily on co-exploration activities. Moreover, such organizations lack experience using the collaborative arrangements suggested in the recent theoretical literature, but they actively use effectual reasoning, which previous studies largely have overlooked. In order to investigate the propagation characteristics and thermal shock dynamics of multiple explosive sources gas explosion in complex roadways, numerical simulations were conducted using the Fluent software under three types of dual explosive sources arrangements in the H-type tunnel, including the same side, opposite positions, and diagonal positions. It was found that, after the two explosive sources in the tunnel were ignited simultaneously, its prodromic shock wave propagated along the unburned area of the tunnel. When the two shock waves encountered, the pressure superimposed while the impulse canceled out, and the propagation of flame was blocked by the pressure superposition area, resulting in a slowdown or reversal of the speed. Compared to the single source explosion, the dual explosive sources led to a higher pressure in specific areas such as contact lane, center of bifurcation, and sidewalls. Extreme pressure zones occur at the closed end of the roadway under same-side and diagonal arrangement conditions and at the center of the bifurcation under the opposite arrangement condition. Based on an ethnographic investigation, interviews and biographical trajectories, this paper aims to explore the current (re)composition of baking activities, driven by peasant movements. Focusing on the use of sourdough, this text questions the transformations of technical arrangements as they are justified by the category of "living", a major element in the reconfiguration of baking practices. In addition to considerations on the practical realities experienced by bakers-peasants (corporal commitments, processes), these changes lead us to question their relationships with the different materialities that inhabit their bakeries (tools, animate entities).

Abstract Mitochondrial genomes have provided significant insights into the evolution of several insects. A typical mitogenome contains 37 genes, and variations in gene order can indicate evolutionary relationships between species. In this study, we have assembled the first complete mitogenomes of Endecous chape and E. onthophagus and analyzed the phylogenetic implications for the Gryllidea infraorder. We performed DNA extractions and genome sequencing for both Endecous species. Subsequently, we searched for raw data in the Sequence Read Archive (SRA) in NCBI. Using the SRA data, we assembled the partial mitogenome of Dianemobius nigrofasciatus and annotated the protein-coding genes (PCGs) for nine species. Phylogenomic relationships were reconstructed using Maximum Likelihood (ML) and Bayesian Inference (BI), utilizing the PCGs from 49 Gryllidea species. The mitogenome lengths of E. chape and E. onthophagus are 16,266 bp and 16,023 bp, respectively, while D. nigrofasciatus has a length of 15,359 bp. Our results indicate that species within the infraorder exhibit four types of gene order arrangements that align with their phylogenetic relationships. Both phylogenomic trees displayed strong support, and the ML corroborated with the literature. Gryllidea species have significantly contributed to various fields, and studying their mitogenomes can provide valuable insights into this infraorder evolution.

We have designed a 30-T superconducting magnet for important experimental facilities in condensed matter physics research. The critical current of rare-earth barium copper oxide (REBCO) tapes directly or indirectly affects the electromagnetic margin, central magnetic field, hysteresis losses, field homogeneity, and screening current–induced stresses (SCIS) of the magnet. Given the poor critical current consistency of REBCO tapes at 4.2 K and their complex field-dependence, the arrangement of double-pancake (DP) coils is crucial in superconducting magnets. Based on measurements of over 100 REBCO tapes at 4.2 K and under an 8-T perpendicular field, we studied the arrangement of DP coils with different critical currents to assess their impact on the electromagnetic margin, central magnetic field, hysteresis losses, field homogeneity, and SCIS of the 30-T superconducting magnet. The results indicate that, depending on the magnet's requirements for different performance aspects, DP coils wound with higher critical currents should be positioned in locations with lower sensitivity to critical current. This approach serves to reduce the operating factor, screening current–induced field (SCIF), peak hoop SCIS, and losses, respectively. These findings provide valuable insights into the design of ultra-high-field REBCO superconducting magnets and arrangement of DP coils. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Professional musical practice sets new requirements for the development of a musician’s hearing. A strong tendency of today’s musical thinking is laying great emphasis on the timbral element, which now is brought to the foreground as one of the most important expressive and form-developing means. Timbre is an intensively developing sphere of the search of contemporary composition and performance. This, in turn, implies requiring a high developmental level of timbral thinking at performing, composing and perceiving contemporary music. The awareness about the need to teach and develop it among the professional musicians is not yet fully recognized and proved by comprehensive research on these issues. The creation of different timbral arrangements as a traditional method for improving future professional musicians’ musical hearing at sol-fa lessons may be used for the development of their timbral hearing. This study aims to develop the classification of the arrangement types by the nature of relation to the original and levels of mastering instrumental timbral means. Study is concerned with working out the classification of the arrangement types as well as methodological recommendations on creating different arrangements oriented towards developing future professional musicians’ timbral hearing. To achieve the optimal compromise between yield and soil fertility that will help balance two important aspects of agricultural production – high crop yields and long-term soil fertility – it is necessary to understand the impact of changing row spacing on vegetable crop growth and the soil environment. The research aims to determine the adaptive properties of the Pharaoh variety by studying the feeding area and plant density to obtain high-quality chufa nodules in the Kyiv region. The main research methods were field studies and analysis of the variance of morphological traits and economically valuable indicators of chufa. It was found that different plant densities had an impact on the development of vegetative organs of chufa due to competition for resources during the growing season. The variety “Pharaoh” showed a high intensity of aboveground mass formation in sparse crops with a plant density in the range of 28-33 thousand plants per hectare, with the number of leaf bundles reaching 145.2-147.4 pieces, and their average height is 50.4-52.3 centimetres. At the same time, the size of the nodules increased with a lower plant density, since with a larger feeding area, plants formed more powerful ones with thicker leaf bundles. Plants arranged in a 60 × 60 cm spacing (28 thousand plants/ha) formed larger nodules with the largest dimensions: 3.1 cm in length, 1.0 cm in width, and 1.2 cm in thickness. It has been substantiated that chufa of the “Pharaoh” variety was characterised by higher economic and valuable indicators under the schemes of planting 60×50 and 60×60 cm nodules. The high marketable yield of freshly harvested nodules was formed at a plant density of 28-33 thousand units/ha and amounted to 4.2-4.6 t/ha. The highest average yield of nodules after drying was obtained under the plant spacing of 60 x 60 and 60 x 50 cm, which was 3.35 and 2.99 t/ha, which was 20.9 and 7.8% higher than the control, respectively. Chufa is a promising crop in terms of food security and income generation, and precise management of plant placement will help to balance yield and soil fertility

When we talk about João Gilberto we talk about arrangement, versions, recording, revisiting and a refreshing of many songs that were recorded during his career, songs that in most cases are not his original compositions. This paper presents an investigation of João Gilberto’s harmony in his recording of Desde que o samba é samba. This work was made possible through the audition, transcription and comparison of João’s guitar and the first recording of the cited song. The audition, being key to identify aspects of his ideas, the transcription brought us, with detail, each note played by him, and finally, the comparison, being the raw material for the paper, allowed the detailed exploration on the musical ideas behind the recording, bringing theories about João’s concepts on structure, arrangement, harmony and his main instrument, the guitar, being those elements that together characterize João’s style of interpretation and arrangement.

The heat transfer tube is one of the key components affecting the heat transfer performance of automobile radiators. Proposes a new kind of heat transfer tube with ellipsoidal dimples based on the elliptical heat transfer tube. The effects of the arrangement and pitch ellipsoidal dimples on the turbulent heat transfer and flow resistance of the heat transfer tube are further studied by numerical simulation in the range of Reynolds number in 4080-24480. The results show that the ellipsoid dimple arrangement makes the near-wall fluid produce different flow forms, which enhances the turbulence degree of the tube fluid and thus improves the convective heat transfer capacity of the tube. Among them: vertical parallel arrangement (Case 1) causes convergent flow, oblique parallel arrangement (Case 2) causes helical flow, and diagonal symmetrical arrangement (Case 3) causes cross-helical flow. The cross-helical flow causes the most significant degree of turbulence, followed by the helical flow. Furthermore, the arrangement and pitch of the ellipsoidal dimples also have an essential influence on the heat transfer performance and flow resistance of the heat transfer tube. The Nusselt number and friction factor of Cases 1-3 increase successively. But the Nusselt number and friction factor gradually decrease with the rise of the pitch of ellipsoidal dimples. However, under different ellipsoidal dimples pitch, the comprehensive performance of Cases 1-3 is better than that of smooth elliptical tubes. Among them, Case 3 has the best performance when P = 15 mm, and the performance evaluation criteria value is up to 1.39. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Percut Sei Tuan District is one of the sub-districts in Deli Serdang Regency. The position of this sub-district is between Medan City and Batang Kuis District to Kuala Namu Airport. In addition, this sub-district is also one of the centers for the Medindingro development project (Medan - Binjai - Deli Serdang - Karo) as stipulated in RI Presidential Regulation Number 62 of 2011 concerning Medindingro Vision 2027 and is included in the National Strategic Area (KSN).Social and economic problems will arise as the population increases, this requires the development of office facilities, education, health, housing and so on. The challenge is quite complex for the regional government concerned in an effort to build and improve the standard of living and welfare of its people. With the increasing number of activities and dense population, a city can no longer meet the needs of its citizens optimally, so it is necessary to have supporting cities that can accommodate activities that cannot be fulfilled in urban areas. [2] This is done to prevent the development and growth of cities naturally, in other words developing without programmed direction and planning. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out a Study on the Regional Arrangement of Percut Sei Tuan Subdistrict as a guideline for the direction of development for the future, and to avoid uncontrolled forms of development. Creating an integrated urban environment that can increase the efficiency of land use and the carrying capacity of land and can improve the physical quality and appearance of the city. The results of this study are expected to be able to provide directions for regional arrangement in terms of architecture, landscape, regional design in Percut Sei Tuan District, as a guideline for the development and arrangement of urban areas. As a guide for all development actors, both in the design process, space utilization, physical development and in controlling spatial use in Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Tengah Regency.

43. Arrangement, listening, and the music of Gérard Pesson

This thesis develops a critical framework for the study of musical arrangement and its relationship with concepts of listening through interpretations of music by Gérard Pesson (born 1958). It begins by identifying and accounting for persistent interpretative reflexes in existing discussions of arrangement, arguing that arrangement is best understood not as a type of musical object defined by fidelity to an original but rather as a way of listening influenced by this and other concepts. The four case studies that follow explore different implications of this shift in critical perspective, combining close reading and listening, philosophical reflection (in particular insights offered by conceptual metaphor theory and figures including Bergson, Sartre, and Adorno), and studies of reception. The first case study displaces the 'original' as the primary source of an arrangement's significance, arguing that Nebenstück (1998) plays extensively on the meanings of medium, through the manipulation of timbre and noise. The second considers the idea of linear temporal fidelity to a source as an engagement with notions of structural listening, using an examination of Ambre Nous Resterons (2008) to demonstrate that such fidelity is not a condition of arrangement but an ideal from which arrangements might meaningfully depart. The third complicates the relationship between the timbral and temporal aspects of arrangement discussed in the previous two chapters, exploring how Pesson manipulates both aspects in Wunderblock (2005) to suggest the absence rather than re-presentation of a source. The fourth probes the fraught relationship between notions of arrangement, fidelity, and kitsch within the overlapping contexts of modernism and historical 'authenticity', analysing the discourses surrounding Kein Deutscher Himmel (1997) supplied by Pesson himself, the transcription's commercial distribution, and a variety of its listeners. Finally, this thesis considers the extent to which musical arrangements, in particular those of Pesson, might be interpreted as offering 'critical' perspectives on listening.

The following discussion paper approaches the phenomenon of artistic research from the perspective of a music theorist and traditionally trained composer (Satztechniker), setting subjective accents without claiming the elaboration of a general theory. Therefore, I do not address myself exclusively to music-theoretical experts, but to all who are interested in questions of a specifically music-related artistic research and its potentials. Thus, I first attempt to take stock of the current situation by presenting historical and current ‘double connections’ of the discipline of music theory – especially in its capacity as Satzlehre – to the artistic practice of composing as well as to music research. Furthermore, as an example of my own artistic research, I present an analytical recomposition that explores the tonal implications of an ‘atonal’ song by Alban Berg and is intended not only to open up new perspectives on the original work, but also to include my own subjectively justified artistic choices. Finally, I discuss potentials of a ‘new music’ that artistically addresses the exploration of theory and traditional techniques of composition.

The Municipal Government of Padang has changed its policy towards street vendors through city government regulations by placing street vendors as part of the urban economic system that needs to be organized and empowered. So far, the government of Padang City has considered street vendors to be the cause of disorder, so it needs to be organized. This paper will explain what benefits can be obtained by street vendors from changes in the structuring and empowerment of street vendors policies implemented by the Padang city government. The study used a quantitative method with a sample of 100 street vendors. Data was collected using a questionnaire. The research was conducted in the city of Padang. The results of the study concluded that most street vendors still have not benefited from the implementation of the policy of structuring and empowering street vendors by the Padang City government, even though the street vendors see several opportunities that will arise and can be exploited to gain profits from the implementation of the policy. The Municipal Government of Padang needs to revise this policy so that street vendors will benefit more from this policy

The purpose of the research is to theoretically develop methods of characterisation and attribution of the style of arranging a pop-vocal composition. The algorithm of analytical actions in the process of auditory examination of the specifics of the musical language of the arrangement aimed at identifying the genesis of the style profile of a pop-vocal composition is determined. In this regard, the parameters of tempo rhythm and phonism are defined as the basic criteria for recognising the stylistic dominant of the instrumental component of a song genre composition. The research methodology is based on a comprehensive study of the creative specifics of pop-song arrangements using a systematic typological approaches, inductive and structural-functional methods of analysing musical compositions, and also includes a descriptive auditory method and a method of comparative stylistic characterisation of arrangements, carried out on the principle of contrasting comparisons or comparisons based on the similarity of creative methods of instrumentation, form formation, tempo rhythmic, melodic and thematic and harmonic organisation of the musical material of instrumental accompaniments, is a method of identifying the stylistic dominant (genesis) of a song genre work with a particular direction of popular, jazz, folk or academic music. The research resulted in the theoretical development of a methodology for style attribution of arrangements of cover versions of works of popular song genres. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BUILDING information modeling ,POINT cloud ,FLOOR plans - Abstract
We present a novel vectorized indoor modeling approach that converts point clouds into building information models (BIM) with concise and semantically segmented polygonal meshes. Existing methods detect planar shapes and connect them to complete the scene. Some focus on floor plan reconstruction as a simplified problem to better analyze connectivity between planes of floors and walls. However, the connectivity analysis is still challenging and ill-posed with incomplete point clouds as input. We propose ArrangementNet to estimate scene arrangements from an incomplete point cloud, which we can easily convert into a BIM model. ArrangementNet is a novel graph neural network that consumes noisy over-partitioned initial arrangements extracted through non-learning techniques and outputs high-quality scene arrangement. The core of ArrangementNet is an extended graph convolution that leverages co-linear and co-face relationships in the arrangement and improves the quality of prediction in complex scenes. We apply ArrangementNet to improve floor plan and ceiling arrangements and enrich them with semantic objects as scene arrangements for scene generation. Our approach faithfully models challenging scenes obtained from laser scans or multiview stereo and shows significant improvement in BIM model reconstruction compared to the state-of-the-art. Our code is available at https://github.com/zssjh/ArrangementNet. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In smart factories, where humans collaborate with robots and machines, productivity can be optimized by minimizing the distance traveled by workpieces and workers. Previous studies on this subject have largely focused on the movement of the workpieces. Therefore, this study expands on this work by accounting for the movement of the workers. In this study, the facility layout of smart factories is optimized by minimizing the distances traveled by the workpieces and workers, which is accomplished through the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. In this algorithm, each arrangement of the factory elements constitutes a unique particle, and initial particles are generated randomly using rules to be used as seeds for optimization. PSO is then executed to generate a layout that minimizes the distances traveled by the workpieces and workers. This method produces layouts that are more optimal than those in which only the distance traveled by the workpieces is considered. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Mangroves are crucial for protecting coastal areas against extreme disasters such as tsunamis and storm surges. An experimental study was conducted to determine how mangroves can mitigate the tsunami wave propagation. The test was performed in a flume, where mangrove models were installed on a slope, and dam-burst waves were used to simulate tsunami waves. To study how mangrove forests reduce the impact of tsunamis, this paper measured the heights of the incoming waves under different initial conditions (tsunami wave intensity and initial water depth) and plant factors (arrangement and distribution density) and described the reduction process. The results show that, after passing through the mangrove, the tsunami bore height will decrease within a certain range as the initial water depth increases. However, there is no correlation between the increase of inundation level and the drop of water level. The bore height attenuation is more significant at higher density of mangroves, but after tsunami passing through the mangroves, the relative bore height will decrease. When the distribution density of mangroves is constant, the wave attenuation at different locations (before, on and after the slope) shows different relationships with the initial water depth and wave height for different models. The transmission coefficient (K
i ) shows a parabolic correlation with its density. The proportion of the energy loss caused by the mangrove resistance to the total energy (Eb ) is defined as Cm2 . The variation trend of Cm2 corresponds to the tsunami wave energy attenuation rate (Ca ) and Ki . [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published
