Carpal tunnel syndrome has long been considered a pathology requiring surgical intervention. Over the years, therapeutic management has become increasingly complex, with improvements observed in patients benefiting from orthopedic, surgical, ergotherapeutic and physiotherapeutic treatments, tailored to individual possibilities. The objective of this case study is to observe whether individualized and adapted kinetic treatment based on specific, nonspecific and comprehensive means, succeeds in optimizing the results within the QuickDASH-Score for a 64-year-old patient following surgical intervention for carpal tunnel syndrome. The QuickDASH analyses physical function, pain and other symptoms associated with various types of upper limb musculoskeletal pathologies and disorders. The initial evaluation score was 47 points, with the physiotherapy program carried out over a six-months period. The main objectives included pain, edema, and inflammation control; enhancing joint range of motion within physiological limits in affected areas; preventing muscle-tendon retractions; and fostering independence in daily activities. The final evaluation had 32 points, signifying a 15-point improvement and achievement of the objective, resulting in enhanced quality of life. Physiotherapy in carpal tunnel syndrome is a meticulously applied treatment that alleviates specific symptoms. Due to the growth of sensor technology, more affordable integrated circuits, and connectivity technologies, the usage of wearable equipment and sensing devices for monitoring physical activities, whether for wellness, sports monitoring, or medical rehabilitation, has exploded. The current literature review was performed between October 2022 and February 2023 using PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus in accordance with P.R.I.S.M.A. criteria. The screening phase resulted in the exclusion of 69 articles that did not fit the themes developed in all subchapters of the study, 41 articles that dealt exclusively with rehabilitation and orthopaedics, 28 articles whose abstracts were not visible, and 10 articles that dealt exclusively with other sensor-based devices and not medical ones; the inclusion phase resulted in the inclusion of 111 articles. Patients who utilise sensor-based devices have several advantages due to rehabilitating a missing component, which marks the accomplishment of a fundamental goal within the rehabilitation program. As technology moves faster and faster forward, the field of medical rehabilitation has to adapt to the time we live in by using technology and intelligent devices. This means changing every part of rehabilitation and finding the most valuable and helpful gadgets that can be used to regain lost functions, keep people healthy, or prevent diseases. The complex treatment applied to breast cancer patients consists of mastectomy, chemotherapy and local radiation therapy and affects the functional level of the upper limb on the side of the mastectomy. Physical therapy plays an important role in increasing the functionality of the upper limb after treatment. The purpose of the study is to verify the effectiveness of an individualised therapeutic exercise programme aimed at increasing the range of motion of the upper limb. Five participants who had undergone mastectomy surgery 6 months earlier were included in the study and each received an individualised rehabilitation programme that was performed twice a week for 6 months. The patients were assessed using three functional tests: test 1 -bringing the hand to the back of the neck, test 2 - touching the scapula with the hand by performing flexion, adduction and internal rotation, and test 3 - touching the scapula with the hand by performing extension, adduction and external rotation. These tests are quantified on a scale of 0 to 4. Early application of an individualised kinetic programme improves the functional capacity of the upper limb on the side of the surgery and contributes to reintegration into daily and socio-professional activities. We consider it important to train patients through educational monthly sessions that address issues such as: maintaining body weight, allowed food and nutritional management for side effects during adjuvant treatment, prevention of chronic diseases. The purpose of this paper is to highlight a less illustrated topic in Romanian bibliographic resources. According to the World Health Organization reports, breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer worldwide. The sequelae of mastectomy are systematised as follows: conditions secondary to the application of local radiotherapy, systemic conditions after oncological treatment and psychosocial conditions. The most common side effect of the treatment applied for breast cancer is lymphoedema and, according to a study carried out in Pennsylvania, 42% of patients develop lymphoedema. Some authors classify it into mild, moderate and severe, but others highlight four stages of lymphoedema development. Physiotherapy has a major role in post-mastectomy recovery and requires various kinetic means, which can be both specific (physical exercise, hydrokinetic therapy, massage, posture) and non-specific (multilayer compression bandage and wearing a compression sleeve). Over time, a lot of clinical studies have been conducted on the implications of physical therapy for post-mastectomy functional recovery. Thus, physical exercise performed during the kinetic programme improves muscle strength, the activity of the cardiorespiratory system and self-esteem. Several authors recommend the practice of aerobic exercise and moderate-intensity exercise twice a week during chemotherapy treatment to prevent the development of lymphoedema. Nowadays, more and more patients limit their recovery period due to lack of time or pain disappearance. But the disappearance of pain is not the end of the recovery program. After a medial meniscus surgery, the time to complete recovery is at least 6 months. Reducing this period can be beneficial to the patient. Purpose: Through our study, we want to highlight the utility and efficiency of the computerised BIODEX System 4 PRO dynamometry in the recovery of medial meniscus surgery, with the significant reduction of recovery time. Subjects and methods: 5 patients aged between 30 and 45 years who underwent medial meniscal surgery were studied. The recovery program was performed using the BIODEX System 4 PRO computer dynamometer for a period of 5 months, with 3 weekly sessions of 90 minutes/session. Results: At the final evaluation, the subjects achieved a 2 to 1 force ratio in favour of extensors and an absolute force of at least 1500 J for the knee extension, indicating the end of the recovery program. It also highlights a reduction in recovery time of at least 20% and the knee stabilisation at optimal parameters. Conclusions: Computerised dynamometer is effectively used in both muscle strength testing and rehabilitation after surgery, reducing the risk of relapse to zero in the case of daily demands. It is challenging to sustain a balanced diet for an active vegetarian in order to ensure the proper nutrients - quantity and quality wise. In the medium and long terms, poorly constructed vegetarian and vegan diets might prompt individuals to macronutrient (protein and also fatty acids such as omega 3) and micronutrient (vitamin B12 and vitamin D; iron, zinc, calcium) deficiencies. Hence, more attention needs to be paid towards planning a vegetarian diet to ensure all the nutrients excluded as a result of eliminating animal products, and if necessary, to supplement the missing elements with proper medication. In aerobic sports, as opposed to strength-building exercises, there is also an increased need for complex slowabsorption carbohydrates to sustain the effort and the meal plans should be tailored to reflect the sport-specific requirements. The current narrative focuses on a vegetarian active female, 38 years old, amateur athlete, engaged in after-work fitness classes, whose lifestyle includes at least 3 aerobic (cardio) sessions per week, while performing a 40 hour-job and 11 hourstudy weekly. The project employs the following instruments: a one-week food diary; a quality assessment of food intake and the necessity for supplementation throughout one day; a one-day meal plan ensuring the necessary macronutrients; nutritional recommendations to manage meatless diets for athletic purposes. Although prone to deficiencies, if appropriately planned, a vegetarian diet can be healthful, nutritionally adequate and can meet all nutrient needs at any stage of life and for any type of activity. Personality is what designates the complex and dynamic reality of each of us. Personality is complex because it includes both anatomical and physiological elements, as well as psychic and socio-cultural elements. It is dynamic because it can take some time to develop its various characteristics. The purpose of our study was to investigate if there are significant differences between third-year students' personality and the personality desired by potential employees, to support a better integration into the workforce for the graduates. A total number of 130 people took part in this study, with ages between 21 and 65: 100 students at the National University of Physical Education and Sports Bucharest and 30 potential employers with interests in Sports Science and Physical Education field. The instrument used was the NEO FFI personality inventory (purchased from TEST CENTRAL), which captures the five major factors: Nevrotism, Extraversion, Openness to Experience, Agreeableness and Conscientiousness. Using the "t" test for independent samples, statistically significant differences were revealed for the five factors of the personality, between the researched samples: "students-men" vs. "employers" (the desired personality) and "students-girls" vs. "employers" (the desired personality). The study shows that a low level of nevrotism and a high level of extraversion, openness to experiences, agreeableness and conscientiousness lead to a better integration of N.U.P.E.S. gratuates in the job market. The World Health Organization estimated in 1994 the existence of a total of 12 million diabetics. It signaled an alarming increase in prevalence worldwide, especially for non-insulin dependent diabetes, with a record of 194 million cases in 2003 and estimates a total of 350 million in 2030. This study aims to highlight the benefits of using therapeutic exercise in maintaining or improving the clinical status of patients diagnosed with non-insulin dependent diabetes. Material and Method. The study was conducted on a number of 157 patients aged between 40 and 50 years and diagnosed with non-insulin dependent diabetes, balanced by restricted diet and oral hypoglycemic agents. The exercise programs were conducted according to the principles of progressivity and individualization initially showed a moderate intensity which was gradually increased and exhausting or high intensity exercises were avoided. The evaluation of metabolic balance (glycemia, cholesterolemia and triglyceridemia) was done in dynamic and included three tests: initial (T0), intermediate (after 3 months) (T1) and final (at 6 months) (T2). Results. The adaptive modifications occur slowly and respond to the adjustments of the physical exercise. Disturbances of the glucose metabolism associated with the lipid one significantly improve between tests demonstrating not only the installation of adaptive process imposed by a graduated and directed exercise program, but also the correct choice of kinetic means with long-term benefits on patients' lives. Conclusions. The association of kinetic means to the classical treatment of diabetes determines an optimal biochemical rebalancing that allows the functional and the psychosomatic adaptation of the body to the effort, which represent a prevention activity in appearance of vascular and neurological complications. Background. Physical exercise imposes ever more biological requests upon the sportsman's organism, as a measure of adapting the possible responses to a superior homeostatic level. Aims. Investigation using the electrolytic circuit for the testing of specific biochemical parameters to highlight the immediate cellular adaptive dynamics, as well as the changes in long term among athletes and cyclists. Methods. The longitudinal experiment, tracking the modifications of variables at different moments of the subjects after exercise was applied. For this purpose, we considered as an absolute variable the specific type of exercise - athletics or cyclism over a distance of 30 km, and as a dependent variable the urinary level of sodium, potassium and chlorine ions. Results. The specific postexercise urinary ions levels after 24, 48 and 72 hours pointed out significant quantity variations, which reflects the recovery ability of the renal function under the pressure of aerobic exercise. A clear example can be shown in cyclists, when the variations in the values are highlighted between the three tests (the average of chlorine was 94.60 mEq/l after 24 hours, 92.27mEq/l after 48 hours and only 0.60 mEq/l after 72 hours). According to the significant level of average diffe-rence (p<0.05), the anion takes different significant values in both groups of subjects (athletes and cyclists). Conclusions. The postexercise ionic variations after 24, 48 and 72 hours are related to the capacity of the renal function, strongly affected by endurance exercise. This type of exercise can turn into a stress factor for the nefron's activity, which changes its filtering degree demanded by plasmatic osmolality and ultrafiltering. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
