Kimyasal tarım ilaçları yani pestisitler; hastalık, zararlı ve yabancı otlarla mücadelede kısa sürede yüksek etkili olmaları nedeniyle üreticilerin en çok tercih ettiği ürünlerdir. Pestisitlerin kontrolsüz ve bilinçsiz kullanımımı ise gıdalardaki kalıntıları nedeniyle başta insan sağlığı olmak üzere tüm canlılar üzerinde olumsuz etkilere neden olabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada kullanılan Dimethoat organofosfatlı bir pestisittir. Ferulik asit ise antioksidan özellikte bir bileşiktir. Bu çalışmada subakut olarak dimetoat düşük (1/100LD50) ve yüksek doz (1/10 LD50) olarak iki ayrı dozda ratlara oral gavaj yoluyla verilmiştir. Bir antioksidan olan ferulik asit, yine oral gavaj yoluyla 30 mg/kg dozda her gün uygulanarak ratların testis dokuları üzerindeki etkileri incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla oksidatif stres etkilerini ölçmek için glutatyon peroksidaz (GPx), süperoksit dismutaz (SOD), glutatyon-S-transferaz (GST), katalaz (CAT), enzimleri ile lipid peroksidasyon belirteci olan malondialdehit (MDA) seviyesi araştırılmıştır. Aynı zamanda ışık mikroskobu ile histopatolojik incelemeler yapılmıştır. Bu amaçla, deney hayvanları 6 gruba ayrılmıştır: Kontrol, ferulik asit, düşük doz dimethoat, yüksek doz dimethoat, ferulik asit ve düşük doz dimethoat, ferulik asit ve yüksek doz dimethoat gruplarıdır. Bu deneysel çalışma için Gazi Üniversitesi Hayvan Deneyleri Yerel Etik Kurulundan etik kurul onayı alınmıştır (G.Ü. ET-17.004). Hayvanlara uygulama işleminin ardından her bir gruptaki sıçanlardan testis dokuları alınarak sıvı azot içinde dondurulmuş ve -80°C derin dondurucuda muhafaza edilmiştir. Dokulardaki antioksidan enzim ve MDA düzeylerinin ölçülmesi çeşitli metotlara göre spektrofotometrik olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sonuçlara göre kontrol ve ferulik asit uygulanan ratların testis dokularında tüm parametrelerde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık görülmemiştir. Kontrol ve ferulik asit ile düşük/yüksek doz dimethoatın uygulandığı gruplar karşılaştırıldığında SOD, CAT, GPx, GST enzimleri ve MDA düzeyinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı artışların olduğu görülmüştür. Ferulik asit ile birlikte düşük ve yüksek doz dimethoat uygulanan gruplarda kontrol grubuna göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı artış gözlenirken düşük ve yüksek doz dimethoat uygulamalı gruplara göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı azalmalar görülmüştür. Histopatolojik incelemeler neticesinde dimethoat uygulanan gruplarda bazı toksik değişiklikler gözlenirken ferulik asit uygulanan gruplarda daha az toksisiteye rastlanmıştır. Sonuç olarak dimethoatın verdiği oksidatif hasar üzerinde ferulik asitin kısmen iyileştirici rolü olduğunu söylemek mümkündür. Chemical pesticides, pesticides, disease, pests and weeds are the most preferred products of the manufacturers because of their high impact in a short time. Uncontrolled and unconscious use of pesticides may cause negative effects on all living organisms, especially human health, due to their residues in food. Dimethoate used in this study is an organophosphate pesticide. Ferulic acid is known to have antioxidant properties. In this study, subacute dimethoate was given to rats in two different doses as low (1/100 LD50) and high dose (1/10 LD50) by oral gavage. Ferulic acid, an antioxidant, was also administered by oral gavage at a dose of 30 mg / kg each day to examine the effects of testicular tissues on rats. For this purpose, the levels of glutathione peroxidase (GPx), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione-S-transferase (GST) catalase (CAT), and lipid peroxidation marker malondialdehyde (MDA) were investigated to measure oxidative stress effects. Histopathological examinations were performed with a light microscope. For this purpose, experimental animals were divided into 6 groups. The control groups are ferulic acid, low dose dimethoate, high dose dimethoate, ferulic acid and low dose dimethoate, ferulic acid and high dose dimethoate. Ethics committee approval was received from Gazi University Animal Experiments Local Ethics Committee for this experimental study (G.U. ET-17.004). Following administration to animals, testicular tissues were taken from rats in each group, frozen in liquid nitrogen and stored in a -80°C freezer. Antioxidant enzyme and MDA levels were measured spectrophotometrically according to various methods. According to the results, no statistically significant difference was observed in all parameters in testicular tissues of rats who were administered control and ferulic acid. When the control and ferulic acid and low / high dose dimethoate were compared, it was observed that there was a statistical significant increase in SOD, CAT, GPx, GST enzymes and MDA levels. There was a statistically significant increase in ferulic acid and low and high dose dimethoate groups when compared to the control group, while a statistically significant decrease was observed in low and high dose dimethoate groups. As a result of histopathological examinations, while some toxic changes were observed in dimethoate applied groups, less toxicity was observed in ferulic acid applied groups. As a result, it is possible to say that ferulic acid has a partially healing role on the oxidative damage caused by dimethoate

Bisfenol A (BPA) endokrin bozucu özelliğe sahip bir kimyasaldır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, BPA’nın sıçanince bağırsak dokusunda meydana getirdiği toksik etkiye karşı taurin ve kurkuminin olası koruyucu etkilerini incelemektir.Bu amaçla, kırk iki erkek albino sıçan yedi eşit gruba ayrılmıştır bunlar: kontrol, yağ, taurin(100 mgkg-1 vücut ağırlığı), kurkumin(100 mg kg-1 vücut ağırlığı), bisfenol A (130 mg kg-1 vücut ağırlığı), BPA+taurin veBPA+kurkumin. Uygulamadan dört hafta sonra ince bağırsak dokuları histopatolojik incelemeler için alınmıştır.BPA ince bağırsak dokusunda önemli histopatolojik değişimlere sebep olmuştur, taurin ve kurkumin ise tamamenkoruyucu etki oluşturmamıştır., Bisphenol A (BPA) has endocrine-disrupting properties. The present study aimed to examine thepossible protective roles of curcumin and taurine against BPA-induced small intestine toxicity in rats. For thispurpose, forty-two adult albino male rats were divided seven equal groups: control, olive oil, curcumin (100 mgkg-1 daily), taurine (100 mg kg-1 daily), BPA (130 mg kg-1 daily), curcumin+BPA, taurine+BPA. After four weeks ontreatment small intestine tissues were examined for histopathological examinations. BPA caused seriously toxicityon small intestine tissues, but curcumin and taurine did not have completely protective effects of this damage.

Bendiocarb is a carbamate insecticide which causes general toxic effects on mammalian. This study aimed to examine the possible ameliorative roles vitamins E and C and their combination against effect of bendiocarb small intestine toxicity in rats. For this purpose, forty-eight adult albino male rats were divided like: vitamin E, control, vitamin C, vitamins (C and E), bendiocarb, bendiocarb+vitamin E, bendiocarb+vitamin C, and bendiocarb+vitamin C+vitamin E groups. After four weeks of treatment small intestine tissues were examined for histopathological alterations. Bendiocarb induced toxicity on small intestine tissues, vitamins had not protective effects of this toxicity.

WOS: 000434277000006 In this study, we investigated that the histopathological changes of rat kidney and liver tissues after cisplatin administration and potential beneficial effects of morin and hesperidin administration. Wistar rats were randomly divided in 7 groups: control, morin (M), hesperidin (H), cisplatin (CP), cisplatin+morin (CP+M), cisplatin+hesperidin (CP+H), cisplatin+morin+hesperidin (CP+M+H). Kidney and liver tissues were collected at the end of the experiment and were evaluated histopathological changes. Various histopathological changes in kidney and liver tissues of cisplatin-induced group were revealed. However, pre- and co-treatment of morin and/or hesperidin partially prevented these hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic changes in cisplatin-induced groups.
