In this study, the removal of Malachite Green (MG) dye from the aqueous solution by the adsorption method onto Sesame Shell (SK) was investigated. The effects of solution pH, the initial concentration of the dye, adsorbent amount and contact time on the adsorption process were determined. The adsorption kinetic was modeled using first order and second (pseudo) order kinetic models. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were applied in this study. All of the experiments were carried at the room temperature (25°C) and at solution volume of 30 mL. The optimum results had been noticed at the following parameters pH 8, initial concentration of 20 mg/L, the adsorbent amount of 0,3 g and contact time was 40 minutes. The adsorption of MG onto SK was found to be more suitable for the second (pseudo) order kinetic model with correlation factor of R2= 0, 9998. The result was fitted with Langmuir isotherm (R2=0, 9997). The adsorbent capacity was determined to be 1,58 mg/g, the removal efficiency of MG onto SK was 93,45%. In this study, the SK was used as an adsorbent for MG removal and based upon the obtained results it is found to be an effective choice. On the other hand, it was concluded that the calorific value of 4122 Cal/g determined for the contaminated adsorbent was an attractive waste for incineration plants for the disposal of the contaminated adsorbent.

Penis küçüklüğü Peyronie hastalığı, priapizm, radikal prostatektomiye ikincil gibi çeşitli etiyolojik faktörlere bağlı olarak meydana gelmektedir. Penis büyütme ya da uzatma tarih boyunca üzerinde çalışılan bir konu olmuştur. Erkeklerin çoğunda penis boyutu normal sınırlar içerisinde olmasına rağmen kendi penislerinin küçük olduğunu düşünmüşlerdir. Penis uzatma ya da büyütme girişimleri için başvuran erkek olguların çoğunluğunu dismorfofobi olarak adlandırılan bu grup oluşturmaktadır. Günümüzde penis büyütme için çeşitli cerrahi girişimler, dolgu maddeleri uygulamaları yapılmaktadır. Ancak bu cerrahi girişimler ile ilgili standart bir uygulamanın olmadığı, başarı kriterlerinin tam olarak ortaya konulamadığı anlaşılmaktadır. Bu derlemenin amacı penis boyutlarını arttırmak için uygulanan cerrahi yaklaşımların değerlendirilmesidir., Small penis size occurs due to congenital or acquired factors such as Peyronie’s disease, priapism or secondary to radical prostatectomy. Penis enlargement or lengthening has been a subject studied throughout history. Most men think that their penis is small, although penis size is within normal limits. This group, called dysmorphophobia, constitutes the majority of male cases who apply for penile lengthening or enlargement attempts. Nowadays, various surgical interventions and filling materials are applied for penis enlargement. However, it is understood that there is no standard practice regarding these surgical interventions and the success criteria are not fully revealed. The purpose of this review is to evaluate the surgical approaches applied to increase penile size.

Bu çalışmada sulu çözelti içerisindeki Malachite Green (MG) boyar maddesinin, adsorban olarak Susam Kozası (SK)'nın kullanıldığı adsorpsiyon yöntemiyle giderimi araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada adsorpsiyona etki eden parametreler olarak çözeltinin pH değeri, başlangıç boyar madde konsantrasyonu, adsorban miktarı ve adsorpsiyonun temas süresi incelenmiştir. MG boyar maddesinin SK üzerine adsorplanma hız değişimlerini bulmak amacıyla birinci dereceden ve ikinci dereceden (yalancı) kinetik modelleri hesaplanmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen veriler Langmuir ve Freundlich izoterm modellerine uygulanmıştır. Deneyler oda sıcaklığında (25 0C) ve 30 mL'lik çözeltilerde gerçekleştirilmiş olup yapılan optimizasyon çalışmaları sonucunda optimum parametreler olarak pH 8, başlangıç boyar madde konsantrasyonu 20 mg/L, adsorban miktarı 0,3 g ve adsorpsiyonun temas süresi 40 dakika (dk) olarak belirlenmiştir. Adsorpsiyonun ikinci dereceden (yalancı) kinetik modele daha uygun olduğu görülmüş (R2=0,9998) ve elde edilen denge verilerine bakılarak Langmuir izotermine göre hesaplamalar yapılmıştır (R2=0,9997). Yapılan hesaplamalar sonucunda adsorban kapasitesinin 1,58 mg/g, boyar madde giderim veriminin ise % 93,45 olduğu belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlara göre tarımsal bir atık olan SK'nın sulu çözelti içerisindeki MG boyar maddesinin gideriminde kullanılabilecek etkili bir adsorban olduğu ortaya konulmuştur.
