In today's society, where the presence of large middle class ensures its stability and is a symbol of resolution of hidden economic problems, education is an integral part of formation and reproduction of the middle class. This article presents part of results of the sociological study conducted under the project “Kazakhstan model of education: international experience and national traditions” supported by the Foundation of the First President of Republic of Kazakhstan - Leader of the Nation to determine the ratio of students to the transformations of the educational system. The authors conclude that the Kazakhstani system of education, passing through the transformation processes, improving the quality of educational programs and trying to correspond to the international standards, not yet in full range, but begins to perform important functions in the formation of the middle class.

The problem of middle class formation is in the focus of politicians and academic discussion (sociologists, political scientists and economists) in contemporary Kazakhstani society. Assuming that belonging to the middle class is not inherited, but is achieved in the course of life, it is easy to assume that the most important factor of “middle classiness” is education. Higher education is the source of the formation and main guarantor of the preservation and reproduction of the middle class. The more high quality and diversified this system is, the more quality, diverse and sustainable will be the middle class. This article presents some of the main findings of the focus group research on young scientists conducted in 2012 in the cities of Almaty and Astana.

Young scientists, active participants in research and education process are potential representatives of professional middle class. Its presence is an indicator of positivity of current economic, social and educational reforms. Education in modern world provides socio-economic progress of society and is an important source of motivation of human behavior; it's a mainstay in solution of social problems. However, in modern society, where presence of large middle class is a symbol of solution of hidden economic problems, education is an inalienable part of formation and reproduction of middle class. The article presents results of sociological research, conducted in 2012 and aimed at assessing the content of professional activity of young scientists in terms of compliance with international standards and priorities for research activities.

To carry out fixed butt welding, it is necessary to provide for the directed transfer of the electrode metal into the weldpool and to keep the pool for the welded metal in position different from the bottom one. To automate this process using the pulse feed of the welding arc, a criterion parameter is needed to make it possible to provide for stable transfer and weld forming. While the voltage on the arc can provide useful information, the velocity of voltage change on arc during break should be used as a criterion parameter to fix the oscillations of weldpool and especially the velocity of the liquid metal displacement. Feedback introduction by the velocity of the voltage change during the break gives a series of positive moments.
