The limit sorption capacity of active carbon layers with grafted ethanolamine, sodium or potassium glycinate derivatives of PVC with different fractions of components formed on a PVC film was measured under sorption of saturated benzene and water vapor. Sorbents are considered as systems with two porous phases chemically bounded at the interface. The compound to be sorbed is absorbed from the outside by the polymer with the formation of molecular complexes with PVC derivatives and through it passes into carbon to establish the equilibrium state of the distribution under conditions of maximum saturation of the polymer. It is shown that the amount of benzene and water in carbon is less than its capacity. It depends on the nature of the radicals in the PVC derivatives.

Aim. This article discusses the possibility of reducing ecological costs and risks during exploration of oil and gas fields. To this end, we propose to reduce the number of exploratory drilling works performed using unjustified non‐productive wells. Such a problem can be solved with the help of innovative seismic‐acoustic methods of direct deposit exploration.Methods. The method of microseismic noise estimation (MNE) in application to hidden hydrocarbon de‐ posits is proposed. When implementing the MNE algorithms, Chebyshev spectroscopy and analysis of the noise in terms of Gaussian distribution were used.Results. The hardware im‐ plementation of the MNE method is presented. The key component of the hardware complex is presented by an autonomous microprocessor 3D seismic module. The seismic module registers signals across the frequency range of 0.5‐40 Hz with a level of spectral density of self‐noise not higher than 0.5 nm×Hz‐1/2. Presented both in land and sea design, the module is compact and mobile.Conclusion. The application of the MNE method in prospecting and exploration allows identification and exclusion of obviously non‐productive wells from drilling, as well as reduc‐ tion of the total number of wells more than by twofold. For the Caspian region, this indicator is expected to be higher. As a result, the method will provide a significant reduction in the envi‐ ronmental consequences of the oil and gas industry as a whole.

Porous layers from activated carbon with macro-molecular cyclic amines based on PVC and modyfied by primary amines were synthesized and its properties were described. Layers were grafted to the surface of a PVC film, cotton medical gauze and asbestos fabric. The nature of benzyl alcohol solvatation and the mechanism of suspension formation within layers of macro-molecular cyclic amines were investigated by methods of IR-spectroscopy and luminescence spectroscopy and described. The structural features of grafted PVC was identified and the influence of the substrate nature on the structure was traced. Upon contact of particles with benzyl alcohol molecules from solvatocomplexes PVC-related aromatic groups replace benzyl alcohol in solvatocomplexes. This leads to non-covalent binding of groups on the surface of the particles. It was shown that sorption of organic molecules does not affect the number of structural types of oxoamines.

The interaction of CuCl and 2-(phenyl-4-chlorophenylacetyl)indandione-1,3 (HL, C23H15ClO3) in a mixed organic solvent (CH3CN, C5H5N, EtOH) gave a solvated crystal complex of copper(II) of composition [Cu(C2H5OH)(L)2]•C2H5OH (I). The isolated compound was investigated by X-ray and IR spectroscopy methods. Lattice parameters of (I): space gr. P21/c, a = 14.982(1), b = 14.558(1), с = 20.608(2) Å; β= 105.176(2)°; Z = 4 (Z′=1). It is established that the structural units in the crystal structure of the obtained compounds are the neutral square-planar coordination spheres of Cu(II) with cis-oriented deprotonated indandionate ligands L. The spheres are located in the space pairwise. One molecule of EtOH is included in the internal sphere of the complex, and the second is a bridge that unites the coordination centers due to the hydrogen bonds between the hydrogen atom of the hydroxo group of the coordinated alcohol and the O-atom of the keto group of the adjacent bis-chelate. This results in a dimer structure. At the same time, in addition to ethanol, molecules of other co-solvents (CH3CN, C5H5N) do not participate in complex formation and do not form solvates. It was found that a copper(II) complex is formed from copper(I) chloride. When using copper(I) iodide as a starting compound in ethanol in the presence of pyridine the formation of the chelate with the deprotonated ligand HL is not observed.

Data on a systematic research of the extraction of nitric and chloride acids from mixed nitric-chloride solutions with neutral oxygen containing compounds – triisoamylphosphate and isoamyldyalkyl (C7–C9) phosphine oxide are presented. The composition of the extracted compounds is determined, the isotherms of the extraction of acids for solutions with different salt composition are obtained. It is shown that from the nitric-chloride mixed solutions of different composition, when used as extractants neutral oxygen containing compounds, in organic phase goes mainly nitric acid.

New meso-tetrasubstituted porphyrins of interest as heterotopic ligands were synthesized. Substances are investigated by methods of electronic and IR-spectroscopy, МALDI-TOF mass-spectrometry, 1 H NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis

This article provides a survey of wet (aqueous) methods for recovery, separation, and purification of uranium from fission products in carbonate solutions during the reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel and methods for removal of radionuclides from alkaline radioactive waste. The main methods such as selective direct precipitation, ion exchange, and solvent extraction are considered. These methods were compared and evaluated for reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel in carbonate media according to novel alternative non-acidic methods and for treatment processes of alkaline radioactive waste.

1H-NMR spectroscopy of lanthanide complexes is a powerful tool for deriving spectral–structural correlations, which provide a clear link between the symmetry of the coordination environment of paramagnetic metal centers and their magnetic properties. In this work, we have first synthesized a series of homo- (M = M* = Dy) and heteronuclear (M ≠ M* = Dy/Y and Dy/Tb) triple-decker complexes [(BuO)8Pc]M[(BuO)8Pc]M*[(15C5)4Pc], where BuO- and 15C5- are, respectively, butoxy and 15-crown-5 substituents on phthalocyanine (Pc) ligands. We provide an algorithmic approach to assigning the 1H-NMR spectra of these complexes and extracting the axial component of the magnetic susceptibility tensor, χax. We show how this term is related to the nature of the lanthanide ion and the shape of its coordination polyhedron, providing an experimental basis for further theoretical interpretation of the revealed correlations.

All-solid-state batteries (ASSBs) are the important attributes of the forthcoming technologies for electrochemical energy storage. A key element of ASSBs is the solid electrolyte materials. Garnets are considered promising candidates for solid electrolytes of ASSBs due to their chemical stability with Li metal anodes, reasonable kinetic characteristics (σLi∼ 10−3–10−4 S · cm−1) and a wide electrochemical window. This study is aimed at the analysis of the experimental data available for garnet thin films, examining the ionic conductivity through the film/substrate lattice mismatch, the elastic properties and the difference in the thermal expansion characteristics of the film and the substrate, the deposition temperature of the film, and the melting point and the dielectric constant of the substrate. Based on the results of this analysis and by introducing the corresponding characteristics involved as the descriptors, the quantitative models for predicting the ionic conductivity values were developed. Some important characteristic features for ion transport in garnet films, which are primarily concerned with the film/substrate misfit, elastic properties, deposition temperature, cation segregation and the space charge effects, are discussed.

The growth of technologies concerned with the high demand in lithium (Li) sources dictates the need for technological solutions garnering Li supplies to preserve the sustainability of the processes. The aim of this study was to use a machine learning-based search for phosphoryl-containing podandic ligands, potentially selective for lithium extraction from brine. Based on the experimental data available on the stability constant values of phosphoryl-containing organic ligands with Li+ and Na+ cations at 4:1 THF:CHCl3, candidate di-podandic ligands were proposed, for which the stability constant values (logK) with Li+ and Na+ as well as the corresponding selectivity values were evaluated using machine learning methods (ML). The modelling showed a reasonable predictive performance with the following statistical parameters: the determination coefficient R2= 0.75, 0.87 and 0.83 and root-mean-square error RMSE = 0.485, 0.449 and 0.32 were obtained for the prediction of the stability constant values with Li+ and Na+ cations and Li+/Na+ selectivity values, respectively. This ML-based analysis was complemented by the preliminary estimation of the host–guest complementarity of metal–ligand 1:1 complexes using the HostDesigner software.

In the present work, we report the synthesis of isomeric heteronuclear terbium(III) and yttrium(III) triple-decker phthalocyaninates [(BuO)8Pc]M[(BuO)8Pc]M*[(15C5)4Pc] (M = Tb, M* = Y or M = Y, M* = Tb, [(BuO)8Pc]2−–octa-n-butoxyphthalocyaninato-ligand, [(15C5)4Pc]2−–tetra-15-crown-5-phthalocyaninato-ligand). We show that these complexes undergo solvation-induced switching: the conformers in which both metal centers are in square-antiprismatic environments are stabilized in toluene, whereas in dichloromethane, the metal centers M and M* are in distorted prismatic and antiprismatic environments, respectively. This conclusion follows from the detailed analysis of lanthanide-induced shifts in 1H NMR spectra, which makes it possible to extract the axial component of the magnetic susceptibility tensor χaxTb and to show that this term is particularly sensitive to conformational switching when terbium(III) ion is placed in the switchable “M” site. This result provides a new tool for controlling the magnetic properties of lanthanide complexes with phthalocyanine ligands.

Binuclear heteroleptic triple-decker terbium(III) phthalocyaninate (Pc)Tb[(15C5)4Pc]Tb(Pc), where Pc2− is phthalocyaninate dianion and 15C5 is a 15-crown-5 moiety, has been synthesized as a solvent-free powder (1) and a well-defined crystal solvate with o-dichlorobenzene (Pc)Tb[(15C5)4Pc]Tb(Pc)⋅6C6H4Cl2 (2). In the crystal structure of 2, the Tb-N(Pc) distances to the nitrogen atoms in the outer and inner decks are 2.350–2.367(4) and 2.583–2.598(4) Å, respectively, and the Tb–Tb distance is 3.4667(3) Å. The twist angle between the outer and the inner decks is 42.6°. The magnetic properties were studied for both 1 and 2. The χMT magnitude of 23.3 emu⋅K/mol at 300 K indicates a contribution of two TbIII centers with the 7F6 ground state. The χMT product increases with decreasing temperature to reach 38.5 emu⋅K/mol at 2 K. This is indicative of ferromagnetic coupling between TbIII spins in accordance with previous data for triple-decker lanthanide phthalocyaninates of a dipolar nature. Both forms show a single-molecule magnet (SMM) behavior manifesting the in-phase (χ′) and out-of-phase (χ″) AC susceptibility signals in an oscillating field of 3 Oe with estimated effective spin-reversal energy barriers (Ueff) of 222(9) and 93(7) cm−1 for 1 and 2, respectively. The compounds show narrow hysteresis loops in the −1 – +1 kOe range, and the splitting between the zero-field-cooling and field-cooling curves is observed below 6 K. Thus, in spite of similar static magnetic characteristics, each form of the Tb(III) complex shows a different dynamic SMM behavior.

The extraction of lithium from aqueous solutions of LiNTf2 and LiCl salts using benzo-15-crown-5 ether (B15C5) as an extractant in [C8mim][NTf2] ionic liquid was studied. The transition of the extractant into the aqueous phase and the distribution of Cl− ions during lithium extraction from LiCl solutions were determined. LiNTf2 complexes with B15C5 with different LiNTf2:B15C5 ratios were isolated for the first time and characterized via X-ray diffraction and IR spectroscopy. Differences in the extraction process of LiCl and LiNTf2 were determined via an infrared spectroscopic study of the extraction systems.

The ability of P(V) phthalocyanines (Pcs) for efficient singlet oxygen (SO) generation was demonstrated for the first time by the example of unsubstituted and α- and β-octabutoxy-substituted P(V)Pcs with hydroxy, methoxy and phenoxy ligands in the apical positions of the octahedral P centre. Variation of substituents in Pc ring and P(V) axial ligands allows careful tuning of photophysical and photochemical properties. Indeed, a combination of BuO groups in the β-positions of the Pc ring and PhO groups as axial ligands provides significant SO generation quantum yields up to 90%; meanwhile, the values of SO generation quantum yields for others investigated compounds vary from 27 to 55%. All the complexes, except α-substituted P(V)Pc, demonstrate fluorescence with moderate quantum yields (10–16%). The introduction of electron-donating butoxy groups, especially in the α-position, increases the photostability of P(V)Pcs. Moreover, it has been shown in the example of β-BuO-substituted P(V) that the photostability depends on the nature of axial ligands and increases in the next row: OPh < OMe < OH. The presence of oxy/hydroxy axial ligands on the P(V) atom makes it possible to switch the photochemical and photophysical properties of P(V)Pcs by changing the acidity of the media.

Detection of nitroaromatic compounds (NAC) is an important task since these substances are hazardous to both the biosphere and the society. Fluorescent sensors developed for NAC detection usually demonstrate a ‘turn-off’ response to the analyte, while ‘turn-on’ sensors are rarely reported. Here, we present a showcase report on new pyrene-imidazoporphyrin dyads that demonstrate an unusual analytic response to NAC with clear ‘turn-on’ behavior followed by an unexpected appearance of a new band, which can be ascribed to exciplex emission. The porphyrin backbone of the dyad also allows registration of its own fluorescence, providing an internal reference signal for ratiometric detection. The association constants in the order of 104 M−1 are reported.

Double- and triple-decker lanthanide phthalocyaninates exhibit unique physical-chemical properties, particularly single-molecule magnetism. Among other factors, the magnetic properties of these sandwiches depend on their conformational state, which is determined via the skew angle of the phthalocyanine ligands. Thus, in the present work we report the comprehensive conformational study of substituted terbium(III) and yttrium(III) trisphthalocyaninates in solution depending on the substituents at the periphery of molecules, redox-states and nature of solvents. Conjunction of UV-vis-NIR spectroscopy and quantum-chemical calculations within simplified time-dependent DFT in Tamm–Dancoff approximation provided the spectroscopic signatures of staggered and gauche conformations of trisphthalocyaninates. Altogether, it allowed us to demonstrate that the butoxy-substituted complex behaves as a molecular switcher with controllable conformational state, while the crown-substituted triple-decker complex maintains a staggered conformation regardless of external factors. The analysis of noncovalent interactions within the reduced density gradient approach allowed to shed light on the nature of factors stabilizing certain conformers.

It was established that isopropyl salicylate can be used similarly to 1,3-diketones as a key component for a new efficient extraction system for selective separation of alkali metal cations. According to DFT modeling of complexes of isopropyl salicylate and 1,3-diketone with alkali metal cations (Li+, Na+, K+), six-membered metallacycles are formed whose stability decreases along the series Li > Na > K, which results in the observed enhanced affinity to lithium. The extraction ability of isopropyl salicylate is manifested in the presence of trioctylphosphine oxide (TOPO). The newly obtained complexes of isopropyl salicylate with alkali metal cations as well as their extracts in a mixture with TOPO are characterized by means of FT-IR, Raman, and NMR spectroscopy. The probable structure of the extracted lithium complex is presumed and the role of TOPO in the extraction process is investigated in detail. Extraction experiments showed extremely high separation coefficients for Li/Na and Li/K pairs in the extraction from a model multi-component solution.

The article presents data on the solvent extraction separation of rare-earth elements (REEs), such as La(III), Ce(III), Pr(III), and Nd(III), using synergic mixtures of methyltrioctylammonium nitrate (TOMANO3) with tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP) from weakly acidic nitrate solutions. Specifically, experimental results on separation of REEs, for the pair Ce(III)/Pr(III) for quaternary mixtures of REEs (La(III), Ce(III), Pr(III), Nd(III)) and for the pair La(III)/Pr(III) for solutions containing La(III), Pr(III), and Nd(III), are presented. It was shown that effective separation for the pair Ce(III)/Pr(III) from a solution containing 219 g Ce(III)/L, 106 g La(III)/L, 20 g Pr(III)/L, 55 g Nd(III)/L, and 0.1 mol/L HNO3, was achieved using 56 steps of a multistage, counter-current solvent extraction cascade with scrubbing, at an organic-to-aqueous phase volume ratio (O/A) equal to 2/1 on the extraction section and O/A equal to 4/1 on the scrubbing section, using 3.3 mol/L solutions of the mixture TOMANO3-TBP with molar ratio 0.15:0.85 in dodecane. Separation for the pair La(III)/Pr(III) could be achieved using a solvent extraction cascade with scrubbing in 32 steps at O/A equal to 2/1 on the extraction section and O/A equal to 2.8/1 on the scrubbing section of the solvent extraction cascade from a solution containing 258 g La(III)/L, 58 g Pr(III)/L, 141 g Nd(III)/L, and 0.1 mol/L HNO3 with 3.0 mol/L solution of the mixture TOMANO3-TBP with molar ratio 0.2:0.8 in dodecane.

Coordination-induced spin crossover (CISCO) in nickel(II) porphyrinates is an intriguing phenomenon that is interesting from both fundamental and practical standpoints. However, in most cases, realization of this effect requires extensive synthetic protocols or extreme concentrations of extra-ligands. Herein we show that CISCO effect can be prompted for the commonly available nickel(II) tetraphenylporphyrinate, NiTPP, upon deposition of this complex at the air/water interface together with a ruthenium(II) phthalocyaninate, CRPcRu(pyz)2, bearing two axial pyrazine ligands. The latter was used as a molecular guiderail to align Ni···Ru···Ni metal centers for pyrazine coordination upon lateral compression of the system, which helps bring the two macrocycles closer together and forces the formation of Ni–pyz bonds. The fact of Ni(II) porphyrinate switching from low- to high-spin state upon acquiring additional ligands can be conveniently observed in situ via reflection-absorption UV-vis spectroscopy. The reversible nature of this interaction allows for dissociation of Ni–pyz bonds, and thus, change of nickel cation spin state, upon expansion of the monolayer.
