The purpose of this secondary analysis was to examine sexual health beliefs, self-efficacy, and knowledge of resources among sexual and gender minority youth (SGMY) participants. Sexual health education policy is inconsistent throughout the United States, especially in socially conservative regions of the U.S. Reach One Teach One North Dakota (ROTO-ND) was developed as an evidence-based and community implemented sexual health education program. Our results demonstrated improvement across the outcomes of interest among SGMY following the educational intervention. Multivariate analysis offers context of predictor variables post-education. Our findings underscore the importance of inclusive education for SGMY.

Background: School-based programs are widely implemented to address childhood obesity. Despite the promise of these programs, evidence on their effectiveness is mixed. Adopting a dissemination and implementation (D&I) science focus utilizing mixed methods can provide a broader understanding and more robust details about these programs. The goal of this evaluation is to understand how implementation factors and teacher experience influence implementation success and outcomes of the Integrated Nutrition Education Program (INEP), an elementary school-based nutrition program, using a mixed-methods design. Methods: Reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, maintenance (RE-AIM) framework guided the development of the evaluation and multiple methods were deployed. Hierarchical linear regression was used to assess the association between D&I construct variables within levels of influence and teacher perception of INEP impact from a quantitative end-of-year teacher survey. Follow-up qualitative interviews with teachers were analyzed using constant comparison analysis. Results: Workload and burden emerged as significant factors related to implementation in the quantitative analysis. The follow-up qualitative data collection identified other factors teachers found important to the adoption, implementation, and maintenance of INEP. Conclusion: Results of this evaluation can be used to inform program improvement efforts for INEP and provide information on ways to promote reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, and maintenance of similar school-based health promotion programs.

School-based programs are widely implemented to combat childhood obesity, but these programs have mixed results. Dissemination and implementation science approaches to evaluation using qualitative methods can provide more robust details about program functioning that may be able to help explain the variation in the impact of these programs. Fourteen in-depth interviews were conducted with classroom teachers implementing a school-based program, the Integrated Nutrition Education Program (INEP), to explore their experience. Factors related to organization, individual and intervention levels emerged as facilitators and barriers to program implementation. Key factors were school culture at the organization level, individual perception and belief in the intervention at the individual level and program content, perceived complexity and adaptability at the intervention level. Socioeconomic status of the community and family involvement were contextual factors identified across all levels. Findings from this qualitative evaluation can be used for the quality improvement of INEP, but beyond this these can also be informative for other school-based programs to promote adoption, implementation and maintenance.

The sexual health of adolescents globally and in the USA remains a significant public health challenge. No evidence-based sexual health education programs exist that specifically target refugee adolescents. The purpose of this exploratory study was to describe the impact of an evidence-based sexual health education program previously demonstrated effectiveness in nonrefugee populations on refugee adolescents' sexual health attitudes, beliefs, intentions and behaviors using minor adaptations to the curriculum. This analysis used a subsample of adolescents from refugee or immigrant backgrounds who participated in a community-based sexuality education program, Reach One Teach One-North Dakota (ROTO-ND). Previously validated scaled survey items were used to assess participants' sexual health beliefs, self-efficacy, knowledge of sexual health resources, and behaviors. Summary statistics were calculated for sociodemographic characteristics categorized by length of time living in the USA. Bivariate unpaired comparisons demonstrated significant differences in the entire cohort on pre- to post-intervention scores on all outcome measures and scales while controlling for program attendance. Participant (n = 103) mean age was 16 and the majority were male (58%). The present study provides evidence that existing evidence-based interventions not intended to target refugee youth may contribute to meeting the unique sexual health education needs of refugee youth with minor adaptations.

Abstract Background More than half of adolescents have jobs in summer or sometime during the year. While employers are ultimately responsible for their safety, parents are often important in helping their children navigate the work environment. Our study examines the attitudes, beliefs and types of involvement parents have in their children’s work. Methods We modeled a telephone survey of 507 English-speaking parents of working adolescents in Ontario, Canada on a US study and examined their perspectives, comparing to earlier findings from the U.S. parents. Results Most Ontario parents helped their teens consider questions to ask about work, for example, work hours (90.7%) and job tasks (78.2%) and fewer about workplace safety (57.9%). Parents overall were concerned about their teens, especially younger teens, getting behind on schoolwork (69.3%), being rushed on the job (60.1%) and doing hazardous tasks (58.3%) or working alone (51.9%), or being at work during a robbery (74.5%). Parents of 14–17-year-old daughters were more concerned about their child being assaulted than were parents of sons (62.4% vs. 51.4%), particularly if the teen was in the 18–19 age group (74.3% vs. 52.5%). Half the parents indicated 10–19 h per week was the right amount of work time for their teen, and most agreed that laws should limit the number of hours of youth work. Conclusions Overall, Ontario parents appear to be more concerned about the safety and also more involved in the work of their adolescent children than U.S. parents previously surveyed. Parents are engaged with their children about their work and may serve as valuable assets to helping to advocate for safe work policies and environments.

Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan santri mengenai nyeri kepala dan pemanfaatan akupresur mandiri sebagai pilihan untuk mengurangi keluhan nyeri kepala.. Metode pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah edukasi dalam bentuk kuliah interaktif dan praktek akupresur mandiri. Edukasi meliputi definisi dan pencegahan nyeri kepala, definisi akupresur, manfaat, dan cara melakukannya..Santri juga mendapatkan praktek cara penentuan titik akupunktur dan melakukan akupresur mandiri dengan bimbingan tutor. Hasil pengabdian ini adalah para santri mendapatkan materi nyeri kepala, akupresur, dan keterampilan melakukan akupresur mandiri terhadap dirinya dan orang lain. Pengabdi juga melakukan pemantauan hasil pelatihan melalui kuesioner setelah tiga bulan kegiatan. Santri dapat mengenali dan mencegah timbulnya nyeri kepala serta melakukan akupresur mandiri untuk mengurangi gejala tersebut.

In fact, it is a romance novel whose sentimentality has received little attention or was squarely belittled. This article analyses what is at stake in this sentimental writing by studying Jean Veneuse’s relationship to women and the evolution of their portrayal in the different versions of the text. Un homme pareil aux autres is the novel of a sentimental dandy in which certain sexist prejudices are expressed whereas, on the other hand, certain racist prejudices are fought against. Veneuse fails to express the condition of black women or white women, all seen in the light of the idealized image of the beloved Andrée Marielle. Another white woman, Clarisse, remains in the shadows as she witnesses the indefensible behavior of the narrator who presents himself as a bashful lover. Her status is as ambivalent as the one of the African women characters and remains awkward in the various versions of the novel.

Un homme pareil aux autres by René Maran is a novel known for its love story and its autobiographical inspiration. But it is also a text that had been constantly rewritten since the 1920s until its final version in 1947 by Arc-en-ciel editions. This novel has known several printed lives and several titles since the publication of an extract from the Roman d'un nègre in the journal Je sais tout of November 1924 the 15th, the edition of Journal sans date in the literary periodical Œuvres libres in June 1927 and Défense d’aimer published in the Feuillets littéraires by Arthème Fayard in 1932. The work of rewriting, obvious in the different printed versions, and the access to the author’s manuscripts prompt us to consider the novel from a genetic critical point of view. This article aims to take stock of the history of the text by presenting a genetic file made up of undated manuscripts that we have attempted to classify.

The problem that occurs in this convection is the lack of product recommendation services to customers. Another problem is that if there are customers who order products that are not in accordance with their needs, the customer will rarely order products at Monstreation. The solution used is to provide services that match the characteristics of the customer, for example by giving product recommendations. Product recommendations are also needed considering this type of business is a business that has many business rivals. The steps taken in this study begin by collecting customer transaction data, then the data is transformed into RFM criteria data. After being transformed, the data is weighted using AHP, after that the RFM data is weighted then grouped / clustered. The grouping results are validated with DBI. From the experiments conducted it is known that the number of cluster 3 is the optimal number of clusters in product grouping. After it is ranked based on the value of the total weight. From the experiments conducted, it is known that the results of the 3 customer clusters, the customers who have the highest weight value are customers in cluster 1. The results of this study are a product recommendation that is an association of product history of customers who have a cluster similarity and a product recommendation information system.

BackgroundAttention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common neurodevelopmental disorder characterised by inattention and hyperactivity-impulsivity that can affect people throughout their life course. A social gradient exists in the prevalence of ADHD in the UK. Studies in other countries have shown that social gradients also exist in the receipt of medication for ADHD. Socioeconomic position is potentially an unrecognised and modifiable factor in children and young people's receipt of medication for ADHD in the UK.AimThe aim of the study was to investigate if socioeconomic position could explain in part whether or not children and young people in Sheffield are receiving medication for ADHD.MethodWe used multivariate logistic regression modelling to investigate whether socioeconomic position could explain variation in receipt of medication for ADHD in children and young people in a cross-sectional study. We collected data from 1354 children and young people with a diagnosis of ADHD across three Sheffield centres between January and December 2016. Elementary school students in today's urban classrooms face many life circumstances at home and in their communities that contribute to stress and coping needs. These stressors are often brought into the classroom, which impact learning, behaviors, and overall academic performance. Mindfulness has been used in classroom settings, particularly with older children and adolescents to help with behavioral and academic outcomes in school. The purpose of this pilot study was to test a 10-week Mindfulness program that was integrated daily at the morning homeroom check-in with a classroom of 4th graders, and compared to a matched comparison classroom. Teachers provided pre-intervention and post-intervention data on student behavior and academic performance; students gave qualitative feedback about the program. While there were no significant differences on the Mindfulness measures, teachers reported significant differences in prosocial behaviors, emotional regulation, and academic performance within group and across comparison groups. Students also reported high satisfaction with the curriculum and gave examples of how they used Mindfulness for emotional regulation and in classroom. Findings support the use of Mindfulness in urban classroom settings as a feasible option for students to help with personal stress and coping, as well as emotional and behavior regulation in schools and at home.

Despite the fact that a large number of research studies have been conducted in the field of search and rescue robotics, significantly little attention has been given to the development of rescue robots capable of performing physical rescue interventions, including loading and transporting victims to a safe zone—i.e., casualty extraction tasks. The aim of this study is to develop a mobile rescue robot that could assist first responders when saving casualties from a dangerous area by performing a casualty extraction procedure whilst ensuring that no additional injury is caused by the operation and no additional lives are put at risk. In this paper, we present a novel design of ResQbot 2.0—a mobile rescue robot designed for performing the casualty extraction task. This robot is a stretcher-type casualty extraction robot, which is a significantly improved version of the initial proof-of-concept prototype, ResQbot (retrospectively referred to as ResQbot 1.0), that has been developed in our previous work. The proposed designs and development of the mechanical system of ResQbot 2.0, as well as the method for safely loading a full-body casualty onto the robot’s ‘stretcher bed’, are described in detail based on the conducted literature review, evaluation of our previous work, and feedback provided by medical professionals. We perform simulation experiments in the Gazebo physics engine simulator to verify the proposed design and the casualty extraction procedure. The simulation results demonstrate the capability of ResQbot 2.0 to carry out safe casualty extractions successfully.
