Abstract Primary CNS Vasculitis (PCNSV) is a rare, diverse, and polymorphic CNS blood vessel inflammatory condition. Due to its rarity, clinical variability, heterogeneous imaging results, and lack of definitive laboratory markers, PCNSV diagnosis is challenging. This retrospective cohort analysis identified patients with histological diagnosis of PCNSV. Demographic data, clinical presentation, neuroimaging studies, and histopathologic findings were recorded. We enrolled 56 patients with a positive biopsy of CNS vasculitis. Most patients had cerebral hemisphere or brainstem symptoms. Most brain MRI lesions were bilateral, diffuse discrete to confluent white matter lesions. Frontal lobe lesions predominated, followed by inferior cerebellar lesions. Susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) hemorrhages in 96.4% (54/56) of patients, either solitary microhemorrhages or a combination of micro and macrohemorrhages. Contrast-enhanced T1-WIs revealed parenchymal enhancement in 96.3% (52/54 patients). The most prevalent pattern of enhancement observed was dot-linear (87%), followed by nodular (61.1%), perivascular (25.9%), and patchy (16.7%). Venulitis was found in 19 of 20 individuals in cerebral DSA. Hemorrhages in SWI and dot-linear enhancement pattern should be incorporated as MINOR diagnostic criteria to diagnose PCNSV accurately within an appropriate clinical context. Microhemorrhages in SWI and venulitis in DSA, should be regarded as a potential marker for PCNSV.

Patients present with a combination of headaches, seizures, and focal neurological deficits. There is usually a diagnostic delay. Treatment is based on observational studies and expert opinion. Our objective was to identify clinical, laboratory, neuroimaging, pathologic or management-related associations with 2 year outcome in patients with primary CNS vasculitis. We conducted a cohort study at a single tertiary care referral centre of prospectively (2018-2019) and retrospectively (2010-2018) identified individuals with primary CNS vasculitis (diagnosis was proven by either brain biopsy or cerebral digital subtraction angiography). Background: Sialadenosis or sialosis is the asymptomatic symmetric parotid enlargement without inflammation or neoplasia, seen in persons 30–69 years old, often related to chronic alcohol use, endocrine disorders, and obesity. Materials and Methods: This was a case-control study done at Rajah Muthiah Dental College and Hospital from September 2013 to July 2014, comprising 15 patients with alcoholic sialadenosis (Group A) and comparing them with 15 alcoholic patients without sialadenosis (Group B). Parameters monitored for liver and pancreatic functions were their serum levels of AST, ALT, GGT, ALP, amylase, and lipase. Results: Group A had higher mean levels of GGT, AST, and ALT; a slightly increased AST/ALT ratio; and high serum amylase and lipase compared to Group B. Both groups consumed ethanol in excess. Conclusion: Biochemical differences suggest chronic alcohol effects on sialadenosis. Stable hepatic and pancreatic functions indicate that further research into sialadenosis may provide a potential diagnostic marker for liver and pancreatic disorders.

Purpose: The concept of inclusive education is moved from the homogeneous perspective to heterogeneous perspective in developed countries and even in developing countries, the discourses on inclusive education are argued from the diversity perspective. Many scholars (Florian, 2010; Slee, 2010; Meijer, 2003 and; Allan, 2011) who are researching on inclusive education debated and discussed that successful practice of inclusive education depends greatly on teacher competencies, albeit practicing inclusive education depends on many critical factors like attitudes, curriculum, resources, parental involvement, multidisciplinary orientation etc., Projects like 'Teacher Education for Inclusion (2009-2012)' discussed and framed various models of teacher competencies required for the successful practice of inclusive education. In this conceptual paper, the authors reviewed the dimensions /sub scales of emotional intelligence and deliberated its significance associated with teacher competencies that support them to practice inclusive education. Approach: Even though there are various emotional intelligence models, the authors have chosen the Bar-On Model of Emotional Intelligence (2006) considering its wider usage across the country. Further, the author included the conceptual papers/research works accessible via open source for the review. Significance: The present review makes the reader to understand and rationalize the significance of emotional intelligence for teachers (both pre and in-service) to develop their competencies for practicing inclusive education. On one hand, this review justifies the readers that emotional intelligence is related significantly and positively to increased adapted behaviour, higher quality social relationships, longer retention in one's professional life, better coping strategies and leadership skills that enhances individuals' intra and inter personal skills. On the other hand, the paper will deduce that the emotional intelligence in teachers will benefit them to meet the needs of diverse students in their classroom without any doubt.
