2. Cobalt metal-organic framework for low concentration detection of glucose.

Abstract

This work highlights the electrochemical applications of pyridinedicarboxylic acid based Cobalt metal-organic framework (Co-MOF). Cobalt metal-organic framework (Co-MOF), as-synthesized was characterized by the techniques such as ATR-IR, PXRD, SEM, Single crystal XRD, and BET. The Co-MOF electrode was prepared and electrochemical performance was carried out to explore sensing activity of the material for Glucose. The electrochemical sensing experiments were performed in acetate buffer and phosphate buffer separately. An excellent response obtained by the Co-MOF electrode for sensing the Glucose at very low concentrations in acetate buffer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

6. Electrochemical application of zirconium-based metal-organic framework.

Abstract

This work highlights the electrochemical applications of Zirconium metal-organic framework (Zr-MOF). As-synthesized material was characterized by the techniques such as SEM, Single crystal XRD, TGA, and BET. The electrochemical energy storage property of prepared Zr-MOF electrode was investigated in 0.1 M KOH. The cyclic voltammogram studies were carried out to find the electrochemical behavior of Zr-MOF electrode. The clearly separated oxidation and reduction peak implied the battery behavior of Zr-MOF electrode. The constant-current charge/discharge curves with obvious plateaus achieved by Zr-MOF electrode is due to battery act of the material. The Zr-MOF electrode has shown long term stability with higher specific capacity about 1043.2 mAhg−1 in KOH. The Nyquist plot (EIS) study confirms the low solution resistance for Zr-MOF. Abstract

The superplasticized cement paste usually exhibits non-Newtonian characteristics, which depend on the type of superplasticizer and its dosage. Current attempts in the cement paste rheology literature have mainly focused on reducing the data from steady shear experiments to simple constitutive models, and exploring the influence of superplasticizer dosage and type based on these model parameters. In this study, the non-Newtonian behavior of the cement paste is characterized based on more fundamental experimental investigations without recourse to any specific model. Steady shear, creep and recovery, and stress relaxation experiments were conducted on a variety of superplasticizer and cement paste combinations, and the transition from non-linear viscoelastic to non-Newtonian and subsequently to linearly viscous fluid, as the dosage is increased were observed. Additionally, Marsh cone experiments were conducted to determine the optimum dosages and it was found that dosages determined based on Marsh cone were close to the dosages at the transition to the linearly viscous behaviour. � RILEM 2010.

Abstract

The properties of high performance concrete, mainly in the fresh state are governed by the flow behaviour of the paste phase, which is controlled by the dispersion of cement particles by the superplasticizer. In this paper, experimental procedures for evaluating the flow behaviour of cement paste with different types and dosages of superplasticizers are studied. The rheological nature of the paste is represented through the Bingham and Herschel-Bulkley models. It is observed that the Marsh cone flow time, mini-slump spread and the rheological parameters show the same trend with change in dosage of superplasticizer. Also, the rheological parameters increase with time and rate of increase is more significant at dosages less than the saturation dosage, as determined from the Marsh cone test. It is confirmed that the Marsh cone flow time can be predicted using an appropriate model. � 2008 RILEM.
