A number of thermometer, anthropometric and psychophysiological characteristics in women with anancast accentuation of character in comparison to a similar group of women without this accentuation is investigated. It has been shown that a group of anancast women had a lower body and skin temperature, had a more hardy types of the nervous system (by tapping-test), asthenic and normostenic body type and a lower average body weight compared to a group without of this accentuation.

A number of thermometer, anthropometric and psychological characteristics of adult women of Slavic ethnicity is investigated. It is shown that mesendomorphiс index is positively correlated with body weight, massiveness of the skeleton of the lower extremities. There is a positive correlation between the mesendomorphiс index on one side and a score on a scale of cyclothymic and exalted accentuation on the other. At the same time on a scale giperthimic, unbalanced and emotive accentuation correlated with the mesendomorphiс index negative. The mezendomorfic index is positively correlated with the temperature of the skin surface of the pads of the fingers and earlobes, which indicates a higher level of microcirculation in these parts of the body in people whose somatic closer to endomorphically.

This paper presents new records of six species of moths and butterflies from Kunashir Island. We report on the first records of Nymphalis (Kaniska) canace (Linnaeus, 1763), Araschnia levana (Linnaeus, 1758) (Nymphalidae), Archiearis parthenias (Linnaeus, 1761) (Geometridae), Bastilla maturata (Walker, 1858) (Erebidae), Xylena (Lithomoia) solidaginis (Hübner, 1803), and Orthosia aoyamensis (Matsumura, 1926) (Noctuidae) from Kunashir Island.

The author reviews the publication of the master’s thesis of Archpriest Sergius Pravdolyubov The Great Canon of St. Andrew of Crete (History. Poetics. Theology), defended in 1987. The first half of the review describes the contents of the book and the second one contains critical remarks. The book itself is devoted to the reconstruction of the biography and creative heritage of St. Andrew of Crete, as well as his main work — the Great Canon. The saint’s life path is scrupulously reconstructed and the features of his homiletic and hymnography heritage are analyzed. The book under review consists of a preface, five chapters, research results, conclusions, a list of abbreviations, a list of the works of St. Andrew of Crete, a bibliography, an index of the shelfmarks of the mentioned manuscripts, an index of names, a table of contents of the volumes of the original dissertation and the contents of the book under review. This edition is a reproduction of the original dissertation, with the exception of a few minor changes. In the first chapter, Archpriest Sergius examines the biography of the saint and briefly characterizes his legacy. The second chapter describes the history of the genre of the hymnographic canon and the putative role of St. Andrew in it. The third chapter discusses poetics and various rhetorical techniques used in the Great Canon. The fourth chapter of the book examines intertextuality in the Great Canon. In the fifth chapter, Archpriest Sergius describes the history of the inclusion of the Great Canon in the divine services, as well as related texts: the kontakion and ikos, troparia to St. Mary of Egypt and St. Andrew of Crete, troparia at the “Beatitudes”, and other elements. The book ends with an extensive reference apparatus and an extremely valuable “List of the works of St. Andrew of Crete”. This list contains all known homilies, full canons, two-ode and three-ode canons, as well as stichera authored by, or spuriously attributed to the saint. The critical part of the review is mainly focused on the problem of the history of the canon genre in the Ancient Iadgari, which is not touched upon at all in the presented book. The remaining remarks are devoted to various unaccounted by Fr. Sergius old and recent studies on the legacy of St. Andrew of Crete: for example, the “List of the Works of St. Andrew of Crete” is supplemented with positions from AHG and CPG.

Relevance. Ensuring the development of the country regions on the principles of environmental and economic balance, taking into account the national development goals of Russia until 2030.This article models the relationship between economic development and environmental progress. The relationship between investment in innovation and uncontrolled emissions in certain regions of Russia in the period from 2010 to 2022 is explored. Aim. To study the intensity of innovation influence on the ecological footprint, as well as the efficiency of functioning of environmental-innovative activities, in regions of different types using the example of the Siberian Federal District and the Volga Federal District. Methods. Panel regression with fixed effects, correlation analysis, DEA method, cluster analysis, analysis of variance. Results and conclusions. Using the example of 24 Russian regions, it is shown that the intensity increase of the research and development of regional companies does not always lead to an increase in the environmental footprint and an increase in emissions intensity. The obtained results indicate that the economic and environmental dimensions of sustainable development contradict each other and suggest that regional governments should consider the negative environmental externalities of economic development when designing policies to promote regional growth. It is noted that the growth of investments in the research and development of more developed regions reduce the emissions intensity level. Large industrial centers of Siberia and the Volga regions are investing in innovation to increase the intensity of emissions. The hypothesis about the high degree of the economic space heterogeneity in terms of the influence of the research and development intensity of regional companies on the degree of environmental pollution in the regions of the Russian Federation is confirmed. The necessity is emphasized to take into account the regional specifics of the industrial structure of the economy. A highly significant heterogeneity was revealed in the efficiency of environmental-innovative activities functioning in the regions of the Siberian Federal District and Volga Federal District. Moreover, the effectiveness of environmental-innovative activities of the regions is insignificantly correlated with the identified imbalance of this activity.

This publication offers the first Russian translation of the kontakion of St. Romanos the Melodist “My soul, O my soul, rise up! Why are you sleeping?”, accompanied by an introductory article. The Kontakion itself consists of one prooemoeon and twenty-three oecoi. It is dedicated to the events of the last days of the life of the Savior through the eyes of the devil and his minions. The devil enlists his servants’ help in his intrigues against Christ, but the Jews have anticipated his plans, bringing Christ to judgment and death. The delighted devil boasts of this in his dialog with Death, but Death does not share his joy, remembering the miracles and resurrections performed by Christ during His lifetime. The devil then learns from the Jews about the death of the Righteous One, but loses confidence in his power after they tell him that the thief hanging on the cross addressed Christ, Who, in this way, acquires a new disciple for Himself even on the Cross. As can be seen from this description, the Kontakion does not have a penitential character, so the existing opinion about its function is incorrect. The introductory article provides a brief overview of the editions and translations of this Kontakion into different languages, and lists the main titles under which various publishers issued the Kontakion. The history of the monologue and dialogue between the infernal forces is described in some detail in the context of the plot of the Savior’s Descent into the Hell according to Christian writing: the Gospel of Nicodemus, the works of the Persian sage Aphrahat, St. Ephraim the Syrian, Eusebius of Alexandria, as well as other kontakia of St. Romanos the Melodist, where monologues and dialogues of the forces of evil are also used. The prooemoeon and oecos of the Kontakion are used in the worship of the Orthodox Church as part of the Great Penitential Canon of St. Andrew of Crete. The appendix contains the text of the translation into Russian with comments explaining the biblical passages that inspired St. Romanos, as well as clarifying the meaning of certain words and expressions. The translation is based on the edition of the Greek text by Grosdidier de Matons in the Sources Chrétiennes series.

This article presents the first records of five species of moths and butterflies from Kunashir Island. We report on the first records of Lampides boeticus (Linnaeus, 1767), Macroglossum saga Butler, 1878, Ampelophaga rubiginosa Bremer & Grey, 1853, Catocala electa (Vieweg, 1790), and C. praegnax Walker, 1858 from Kunashir Island. Additionally, we provide commentary on the distribution of Bombyx mandarina (Moore, 1872), Caligula japonica Moore, 1862, C. jonasii (Butler, 1877), Macroglossum stellatarum (Linnaeus, 1758), M. pyrrhosticta Butler, 1875, Agrius convolvuli (Linnaeus, 1758), Catocala dula Bremer, 1861, C. lara Bremer, 1861, C. dissimilis Bremer, 1861, C. deuteronympha Staudinger, 1861, C. nupta (Linnaeus, 1767), C. fraxini (Linnaeus, 1758), Lymantria mathura (Moore, 1866), and Orgyia thyellina (Butler, 1881).

The snow leopard population has been monitored on the Chikhacvhev Ridge for 10 years since 2011 using camera traps. In 2021, a male was recorded. We recorded several concurrent predatory species, like red fox, Pallas’s cat, wolverine, and brown bear, and prey species Altai marmots. The snow leopards performed visual and olfactory marking at their area. We concluded that snow leopards in this transboundary mountain area were active at temperatures up to 3°C in summer period.

This article is devoted to the description of translations and poetic transcriptions of the Great Penitential Canon of St. Andrew of Crete into Russian. In view of their large number, the article is limited only to the period from the end of the 18th century (when the first poetic arrangements appeared) to the 19th century. In total, seven translations and poetic transcriptions were published during this period: four full-fledged poetic transcriptions of the entire Canon (“The Great Canon, the Creation of St. Andrew, Archbishop of Crete, Translated in Verse” by S. Rindovsky and F. Lenkevich, “The Pious Occupation of Those Fasting, or the Canon of Andrew of Crete, Resident of Jerusalem, Translated in Verse by the Blind Gavriil Pakatsky, Priest of the Church of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Sovereigns Constantine and Helena, Which is at the City Almshouses”, “Songs of Repentance, or the Great Canon of St. Andrew of Crete, Accompanied by Live Stories of the Saints of God: Andrew of Crete and Mary of Egypt, in Verse” by S. Izvolsky, and “The Canon of Our Venerable Father Andrew of Crete, the Jerusalem Resident, Translated into Verse by Hieromonk Gerontiy Levitsky, a Member of the Beijing Ecclesiastical Mission”), one poem-imitation of several troparia of the Canon (from the poem “A Year in the Monastery” by A. N. Apukhtin), and two prose translations (one by Archpriest M. I. Bogoslovsky and the “Liturgical Canons in the Greek, Slavonic, and Russian Languages” by E. I. Loviagin). Translations of the Great Canon began to appear at the end of the 18th century, when the process of the separation of the Russian literary language from Church Slavonic took place. The poetic form of the transcriptions can be explained by the popularity at this time of the genre of verses, a variety of poems of ecclesiastical or secular content. The transcriptions and translations themselves were intended for cell use. This article examines the history, structure, degree of accuracy to the original meaning of the canon of the translations, as well as, in case it is a poetic arrangement, the poetic structure and number of lines. In the course of the study, it was found that many of the translations and transcriptions were actively reprinted in pre-Revolutionary times, and that the metrical structure of the poetic transcriptions of the canon was iambic. The number of lines in them varied — from couplets to twenty-nine verses. The meaning of the troparia of the Great Canon is conveyed correctly in most translations and transcriptions. In this article, two poetic arrangements are described and introduced into scientific circulation for the first time: those of F. Lenkevich (1799) and S. Izvolsky (1871). F. Lenkevich’s arrangement is published in the appendix to the article.

Aim. To clarify the spring aspect of the faunistic composition of Lepidoptera insects in the Republic of Dagestan as one of the most poorly studied regions of the European part of Russia.Materials and Methods. The collection of material was carried out in six localities of the Republic of Dagestan at light sources and with a butterfly net. The material was determined using modern guides.Results. We have determined 210 species of the families: Coleophoridae, Pterophoridae, Pyralidae, Crambidae, Drepanidae, Geometridae, Sphingidae, Saturniidae, Notodontidae, Erebidae and Noctuidae. Thirteen species are indicated for the fauna of Eastern Caucasus for the first time: Trypostela machinopis (Meyrick, 1936), Multicoloria vibicigerella (Zeller, 1839), Casignetella ancistron (Falkovitsh, 1976) (Coleophoridae), Gymnancyla gilvella (Ragonot, 1887) (Pyralidae), Hypena obesalis (Treitschke, 1829) (Erebidae), Clostera pigra (Hüfnagel, 1766) (Notodontidae), Cleora cinctaria ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775), Chlorissa pretiosaria (Staudinger, 1887), Acasis viretata (Hübner, [1799]), Earophila badiata ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775), Pareulype berberata ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775), Eupithecia assimilata (Doubleday, 1856) and Eupithecia intricata (Zetterstedt, 1839) (Geometridae).Conclusion. It seems very perspective to study the entomofauna of the Republic of Dagestan, especially in non‐standard periods: in spring and autumn.

High-energy particle accelerators have been crucial in providing a deeper understanding of fundamental particles and the forces that govern their interactions. To increase the energy of the particles or to reduce the size of the accelerator, new acceleration schemes need to be developed. Plasma wakefield acceleration1-5, in which the electrons in a plasma are excited, leading to strong electric fields (so called 'wakefields'), is one such promising acceleration technique. Experiments have shown that an intense laser pulse6-9 or electron bunch10,11 traversing a plasma can drive electric fields of tens of gigavolts per metre and above-well beyond those achieved in conventional radio-frequency accelerators (about 0.1 gigavolt per metre). However, the low stored energy of laser pulses and electron bunches means that multiple acceleration stages are needed to reach very high particle energies5,12. The use of proton bunches is compelling because they have the potential to drive wakefields and to accelerate electrons to high energy in a single acceleration stage13. Long, thin proton bunches can be used because they undergo a process called self-modulation14-16, a particle-plasma interaction that splits the bunch longitudinally into a series of high-density microbunches, which then act resonantly to create large wakefields. The Advanced Wakefield (AWAKE) experiment at CERN17-19 uses high-intensity proton bunches-in which each proton has an energy of 400 gigaelectronvolts, resulting in a total bunch energy of 19 kilojoules-to drive a wakefield in a ten-metre-long plasma. Electron bunches are then injected into this wakefield. Here we present measurements of electrons accelerated up to two gigaelectronvolts at the AWAKE experiment, in a demonstration of proton-driven plasma wakefield acceleration. Measurements were conducted under various plasma conditions and the acceleration was found to be consistent and reliable. The potential for this scheme to produce very high-energy electron bunches in a single accelerating stage20 means that our results are an important step towards the development of future high-energy particle accelerators21,22.
