Buaraştırmada 1700 m rakımdaki Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Botanik Bahçesi’ninilk etabı olan “Geofit ve Gül Bahçesi”’nin 2020 yılında Üniversite yönetimitarafından tahsis edilen ve Üniversite master planına işlenen alanda hazırlananve peyzaj planı çerçevesinde geliştirilen botanik bahçesindeki deneyimlerverilmiştir. Habitatlarındapopulasyon durumu çok iyi olan taksonlardan 50’şer adet ve popülasyon durumuzayıf olan taksonlar ile endemik ve nadir taksonlardan 10’ar adet BotanikBahçesine getirilmiştir. Bugüne kadar Türkiye genelinde 22 İl ve 66 ilçeyebağlı 280 köy ve mahallede 114 günlük arazi çalışmaları kapsamında TürkiyeFlorasında kayıtlı Rosa (güllerin)’lardan üçü endemik olmak üzere toplam27 takson toplanıp ve hepsinden çelik alınmış, daha sonra bu çeliklerdenüretilen fidanlar ilgili parsellere dikilmiştir. Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’ndeağırlıklı olmak üzere Türkiye genelinde toplanıp getirilen 87 Geofit taksonunaait 2.500 adet geofit (soğan, yumru, rizom) Botanik Bahçesine ekimleriyapılarak adeta bir vitrin gibi sergilenmektedir. Peyzaj projesi kapsamında parsellereayrılan ve bilgisayar ortamından da kayıt edilen süs ve peyzaj alanındakullanılan modern ve kültür Güllerinden 1.000 adet ve Geofitlerden de 4.091adet alana dikilmiştir. Ayrıca bu süreçte Doğa Koruma ve Milli Parklartarafında bölgede kaçak olarak toplanarak ele geçirilen bitkilerin diasporalarıilgili parsellere dikilmiştir. Botanik bahçesine getirilen gerek geofit gereksede güller başta olmak üzere tüm taksonların herbaryum örnekleri alınmış veteşhisleri yapılarak herbaryum materyali haline getirilerek VANF Herbaryumunakayıt edilen bitkiler aynı numarayla belirlenen parsellerde yetiştirilmektedir.Bu yolla özelde Gül ve Geofitleri genelde diğer bitkileringen kaynaklarını ex-situ korumak, bitkileri öğrencilere ve halka tanıtmak,araştırma ve öğretim hizmetlerine katkıda bulunmak, bölgede bitkilerinkorunduğu doğal korunma alanları oluşturmak, halkın bitkisel doğal kaynaklarınkorunması konusunda duyarlılık ve bilinç düzeylerini artırmak amacı ile DoğuAnadolu Bölgesinin tek Botanik Bahçesinde yetiştirilmektedir.

Growing globalization along with rapidly advancing demographic, technological, and economicmotions affects the image of many cities in today’sworld. High-rise growing, in the world has beenclearly seen since the last two decades. In recentyears, the city landscape has been impacted by modern high-rise buildings and has become a major matter from the point of the landscape conservation of acity like Istanbul with a historical peninsula silhouette. In this article, which argues the aesthetics of themanmade environment, assorted elements have beenassessed by the users based on the formal aestheticmeasure in the 4th Levent area, where high-risebuildings are intense. In this context, this article aimsto specify the elements that can enhance user preferences, quality of urban landscapes, and the approachof different social groups towards the place. Visualsurvey methodology, which is applied here to determine the user's perception of the place, is the mainmethod of the study based on visual landscape evaluation techniques. 95 individuals participating in thesurvey were asked to assess formal aesthetic factorsconsisting of building facade effect, building aesthetics, sovereignty, diversity, prestige, background,trust and superiority for 15 chosen high-rise commercial buildings. One-way ANOVA, correlationand regression tests were applied on the data whichcollected through questionnaire. With the regressionmodels to be created, formal aesthetic variableswhich were meaningfully predictable in the perceptions of the urban area were determined. The findings and results are expected to supply substantial resources to the relevant city stakeholders in future urban landscape studies.&nbsp

Today, some ornamental plants are used in soil reclamation and erosionprevention activities, targeting different landscape restoration purposes.Naturally occurring erosion can be exacerbated by humaninterventions, especially in vegetation. For this reason, afforestationand improvement of the existing vegetation are of great importance inplanning areas where landscape restoration works are needed such aspreventing erosion, soil rehabilitation and reducing the toxic effects ofenvironmental pollutants. With this study, the willow plant, which hasan important place in sustainable environment and landscaperestoration studies, has been evaluated. Willow is a very valuable plantin terms of natural resources in the world.In particular, this plant species is a valuable plant that varies accordingto the conditions and geographical location of each region in terms ofnumber and diversity, many species are found naturally on thewaterfront, resistant to extreme climatic conditions, and mostly solitaryin landscape design works other than repair.&nbsp

Üniversite kampüsleri birer eğitim kurumu olmalarıyla birlikte önemli sosyal ve kültürel mekânlardır. Bu alanlar; farklı kültür, sosyal ve etnik yapılara sahip öğrencilerin eğitim süreçleri boyunca ders dışı zamanlarının büyük dilimini geçirdikleri mekânlar olup eğitimciler ve çalışanlar için de sosyal etkileşim açışından büyük önem taşımaktadırlar. Bu nedenle üniversite yerleşkelerinin planlamalarında birçok faktörü göz önünde bulundurmak gerekir. Peyzaj planlama, Avrupa Peyzaj Sözleşmesi tanımına göre; peyzajların geliştirilmesi, iyileştirilmesi ve oluşturulması amaçlı geleceğe yönelik güçlü eylemlerdir. Buna paralel olarak, çeşitli başlıklar altında peyzajların sürdürülebilir planlanmasının öneminden söz etmiştir. Bu çalışmada Van ilinde, Van Gölü’ne kıyısı olan Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi kampüs sınırlarında kıyı alanında seçilen bir alanın kıyı kullanım ilişkilerini inceleyerek peyzaj planı önerisinde bulunulmuştur. Bu anlamda kampüs alanının kullanım amaçları, kullanıcı beklentileri, kıyı kullanımına ilişkin olumlu-olumsuz faktörler gibi konular ele anılarak yapılan değerlendirmeler sonucu peyzaj planı geliştirilmiştir. Bu model kıyı peyzaj planlamasına yol gösterici birer araç olarak kullanılması düşünülmektedir., Along with university campuses are educational institutions, they are important social and cultural places. Parallel to this, he mentioned the importance of sustainable planning of landscapes under various titles.In this study, a landscape plan was proposed by examining the coastal use relations of an area selected in the coastal area of the Yüzüncü Yıl University campus in the province of Van, on the coast of Lake Van. In this sense, the landscape plan was developed as a result of the evaluations made by discussing the usage purposes of the campus area, user expectations, positive and negative factors regarding the use of the coast. This model is thought to be used as a guiding tool in coastal landscape planning.

Kentlerin en önemli parçalarını oluşturan kamusal açık mekanlar, toplumsal ilişkilerin kurulduğu ve topluma çevresel, sosyal ve ekonomik faydalar sağlayan mekanlardır. Kış kentlerinde genelde uzun süreli soğuk hava koşulları, rüzgâr, kar, don, buz, azalan gün ışığı miktarı gibi olumsuz hava koşullarının yarattığı etkiler sonucunda kamusal açık mekanların kullanımının büyük ölçüde kısıtlanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda kış kentlerinde bireylerin fiziksel ve psikolojik olarak, kentlerin ise yaşanabilirliliği olumsuz anlamda etkilenmektedir. Bu bağlamda çalışmada dünyadan ve Türkiye’den bir kaç kış kentin kentsel peyzaj tasarım çerçevesinde kamusal açık alanlarında yapılan çalışmalar ve uygulamaların incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda kış kentlerinde daha yaşanabilir ve peyzaj açısından görsel kalitesi yüksek mekanlar yaratabilmek amacıyla tasarım öğelerinin kullanımları kriterleri incelenmiştir. Bu kentlerin ekolojik koşullarını göz önünde bulundurarak peyzaj tasarım elemanları olan bitkisel tasarım öğeleri (Softscape) ve yapısal tasarım öğeleri (Hardscape) ile çeşitli görsel alternatif çözüm önerileri geliştirebilmesi düşünülmektedir., In winter cities, the use of public open spaces is severely restricted as a result of the effects of long-term cold weather conditions, wind, snow, frost, ice, and adverse weather conditions such as a reduced amount of sunlight. In this context, the physical and psychological effects of individuals in winter cities and the livability of cities are negatively affected. Studies conducted in the framework of public open space in the urban landscape design work in this context, many winter cities from around the world and in Turkey, and aimed to examine the application. In this direction, design criteria were examined in order to create more livable spaces with high visual quality in terms of landscape in winter cities. Considering the ecological conditions of these cities, it is planned to develop various visual alternative solutions with landscape design elements (Softscape) and structural design elements (Hardscape).

In today's world, more than half of the population lives in cities, and the amount of solid waste increasesin parallel with the worldwide population increase. Cities face the problem of waste and recycling, whichaffects their image and causes visual pollution for the landscape, and efforts are being made to solve thisproblem. Conscious societies go from large scale to small scale solutions, from trash exchanges fromother countries to modifying trash cans in the city. In order to maintain awareness, as well as adults, theeducation of environmental awareness of today's children who are adults of the future should be givengreat importance.In the study; BeTo kit was designed as a product concept based on sustainable awareness philosophy inorder to provide solutions to these problems and to reduce visual pollution. This kit, which will bedistributed to elementary classes, is a fun way to teach elementary school students how to sort and recyclegarbage with gamification technique in collaboration with Retake Rome. Retake Rome is a movementof citizens, non-profit and non-party, engaged in the fight against degradation, in the enhancement ofpublic assets and in the diffusion of civic sense in the territory. In the operation of the system, BeTo kitwill be distributed to schools and waste will be separated and collected. The kit is designed to improvethe sustainability of the livable environment and the visuality of the landscape. The kit designed for thisapplication will contribute to product designers, environmental engineers, landscape architects,ecologists, primary school educators and other related disciplines in the studies to be conducted on thebasis of improving the sustainability of the habitable environment and the visuality of the landscape inurban areas. In addition, it is thought that the proposed application will serve as a basis for municipalitiesand other city stakeholders for physical, social, and ecological studies in urban areas in the future.

Bu çalışma literatür taraması yapılarak, kentlerin kimliklerinin nasıl ve ne şekilde oluştuğu, nasıl algılandığı araştırılmıştır. Tümden gelim yöntemi ile kavramsal ve kuramsal yaklaşımlar incelenmiş, kent kimliğinde etkin rol oynayan parametrelerin yanı sıra, kimlik öğelerinin tespitinde kullanılan yöntemler de incelenerek elde edilen bilgilerin derlemesi şeklinde oluşturulmuştur. Çalışmada Kentlerin kimliklerini oluşturan doğal ve yapay bileşenler incelenmiş, insan tarafından algılanan en baskın kimlik öğesinin yapay bileşenlerden tarihi kentsel peyzaj olduğu görülmüştür. Bu bağlamda tarihi kentsel peyzaj ile kent kimliği ilişkisi üzerinde durulmuştur. Kenti oluşturan ve değiştiren temel özne insandır ve kent kullanıcılarının zihninde oluşan algı kent imgesini oluşturmaktadır. Kullanıcıların zihnindeki ortak imgeler de kent kimliğini oluşturmaktadır. Kent imgesi bireylerin çevrelerini algılama süreciyle ilgilenmektedir. Bireyin bir mekânı algılama sürecinde somut öğelerin görsel anlatımı ön plana çıkmaktadır. Nitekim güncel kent tariflerinde kentlerin panoramik görünümleri, siluetleri gibi görsel anlatı etkin rol oynadığından kimlik öğeleri görsel peyzaj değerlendirme kavramı ile açıklanmıştır. Ancak kentsel kimliği sadece gözle görülür somut öğelere ve görme duyusuna bağlamak tek yönlü bir yaklaşım olmaktadır. Bu nedenle mekânların tarihsel derinlik içinde katmanlaşarak biriktirdiği değerler olarak tanımlanan aynı zamanda kimliğe dördüncü bir boyut kazandıran “yerin ruhu (genius loci)” göz ardı edilmemelidir. Çağımızın büyük problemlerinden olan küreselleşme, kentlerde kimlik unsurunu ne yazık ki yok etmektedir. Kentsel kimliğin korunması geçmişin geleceği için önemlidir. Yaşanmışlığı barındıran tarihi kentsel peyzaj alanları hızla yok olmaktadır. Toplumların hafızasını ve genetik kodlarını barındıran bu peyzajlara sahip çıkılması gerekmektedir ve sadece kentlilik bilinciyle mümkündür. birçok yerli ve yabancı kaynakların çok yönlü incelenmesiyle araştırmacılara rafine bilgi sağlaması ve toplumsal öz bilinç oluşturması amaçlanmaktadır., In this study conducted by literature review method to search about how the identities of the cities are formed and how they perceived and the study is formed as a compilation of the informations that obtained. Deductive method is used to examine the conceptual and theoretical approaches and to determine the elements of the urban identity as well as the parameters that play an active role in urban identity. In this process the natural and artificial components that make up the identities of cities was examined, and that the most dominant element of identity perceived by man was found as one of the artificial components that historical urban landscape. In this context, the relationship between the historical urban landscape and the urban identity has been emphasized. The main subject that creates and changes the city is human, and the perception that forms in the minds of city users constitutes the image of the city. Common images in the minds of users also constitute the identity of the city. Urban imagery is concerned with the process of individuals perceiving their surroundings. The visual expression of concrete elements comes to the fore in the process of the individual's perception of a place. As a matter of fact, in the current city descriptions, the elements of identity are explained with the concept of visual landscape evaluation as the visual narrative plays an active role, such as the panoramic views and silhouettes of the cities. However, linking urban identity to only visible tangible elements and the sense of vision is a one-way approach. Therefore, the “spirit of the place (genius loci)”, which is defined as values accumulated by layering within the historical depth of spaces, also gives a fourth dimension to identity, should not be ignored. Globalization, which is one of the great problems of our time, unfortunately destroys the identity element in cities. The preservation of urban identity is important for the future of the past. The historic urban landscape areas that contain the habitats are rapidly disappearing. These landscapes, which contain the memory and genetic code of societies, need to be taken care of and are only possible with the awareness of urbanity. it is aimed to provide researchers with dense information and to create social self-consciousness through the multifaceted study of many domestic and foreign sources.

Residential gardens; increasing the quality of urban landscape by increasing the agricultural skills of thepeople of the city, providing economic gain, being one of the most effective methods of combating food,improving air quality, contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions and temperature, enabling socialactivities, recreation and leisure time opportunities has positive effects. The detached house gardens inthe city of Van are characterized by multifunctionality, which gives people different advantages as inother cities. The aim of this study is to determine the place, properties and importance of residentialgardens in urban life in urban area. In the study, detached house gardens, which are important traditions,were found in the neighborhoods of Tusba in Van. The literature on the subject has been searched,geographic information system software has been used to determine the available area uses and on-siteobservation and analysis methods have been used. As a result, the neighborhood with the highest numberof residences with gardens was identified as Altıntepe Quarter with 893 residences. At the end of thestudy, the aim of this study is to develop the suggestions for the sustainability of the garden culture byrevealing the role of detached house gardens in the city which existed throughout history and whoseexamples are decreasing today

Plants in cities; help to keep the balance ofthe ongoing interaction between the environment and the human system by itsvisual and functional effects . It is possible to develop alternativesolutions to eliminate visual pollution by evaluating the color, texture, form,size and similar properties of plant materials and the potential properties ofthe composition with other inanimate materials such as highlighter, backgroundforming, harmonizing and concealer. The number of ornamental plant species thatgrow in cold climates is less than in warm climates. Forthis reason, especially in the landscaping works of urban spaces, it isdifficult to create the desired visuality with aesthetically qualified plantsthat are suitable for the ecology of the area, without creating monotony, withcolor variety.Inthis study, the importance of plant and plant compositions in the solution ofvisual problems in urban environments in cold climatic conditions isemphasized.Thepotential of ornamental plants that can be used for this purpose in preventingvisual pollution is given. It has been shown how to use prominent features ofthese ornamental plants such as size, form, texture, and vegetation periods toimprove visual landscape in urban spaces in a long time. In addition to thedesign group disciplines that have activity on planning or application basis inthe city and its surroundings, Landscape Architecture discipline can providevisual improvement of the studies to be carried out in detail in terms ofplanting design. Inaddition to the design group disciplines that are effective on planning orapplication basis in the city and its surroundings, the studies to be carriedout in detail in terms of planting design as a discipline of LandscapeArchitecture can provide visual improvement. Kıyı alanları özenle korunması ve en verimli şekilde uygun amaçlar için kullanılması gereken doğal kaynakların parçalarıdır. Bununla birlikte kıyı kentleri her zaman insan kullanımları yönünden odak noktası oluşturmaktadır. Sürekli artan nüfusu ile peyzajı şekillendiren faktörlerden biri olan insan, kıyı kaynakları üzerindeki beklentileri çeşitlilik göstermiş ve değişimlere neden olmuştur. Van kalesinin güney batı cephesindeki alan doğal ve kültürel peyzaj açısından zengin olmasına karşın mekânsal anlamda insanların rekreason için tercih ettiği bir durumda değildir. Bu çalışmada, Van Gölü kıyısında Van Kalesinin güney batı cephesinde yer alan yaklaşık 2,002 km uzunluktaki kıyı şeridi ve yakın çevresindeki mevcut kullanımlar incelenerek rekreasyonel kullanım potansiyeli ortaya konulmuştur. Çalışmada yerinde inceleme ve araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Konu ile ilgili yayınlardan yararlanılmış, alan araştırması yapılmış, ilgili kişi ve kurumlarla sözlü görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Bu doğrultuda Van kent merkezi ile yakın mesafede yer alan kıyı alanı için sürdürülebilir kıyı turizmi ve rekreasyonuna yönelik öneriler getirilmiştir. Öneriler belirlenirken koruma-kullanma dengesi gözetilerek alternatif alan kullanımları üretilmiştir. Çalışma sonunda adı geçen alan için kıyı alanı yönetimi çerçevesinde önerilen peyzaj tasarım projesi hazırlanmıştır. Öneriler ışığında, bu alan görsel peyzaj değerleri sunabilen ve çeşitli sosyal aktivitelere olanak sağlayan, ilgi çekici bir rekreasyon alanına dönüştürülebileceği düşünülmektedir.

Kentlerinfiziksel yapısını biçimlendiren ve ortaya koyan temel alan kullanımlarındanbiri olan açık ve yeşil alanlar kentin planlaması ve tasarımında diğer alan kullanımlarınıbir denge unsuru olarak bütünleştirmektedir. Kentler hem doğal hem insankaynaklı tehditlere karşı oldukça kırılgan olan, karmaşık ve öğeleri birbirinebağlı sistemlerdir. Bu çalışmada 2011 Yılının Ekim ve Kasım aylarında Van’dayaşanan yıkıcı depremden sonra peyzaj dönüşüm kapsamında yeni yapılan ikiparkın mevcut durum analizi yapılmıştır. Bu bağlamda depremden sonra dönüşümprojesinin kentsel açık mekan sistemleri kapsamında hasar gören iki kamu binasıyerine inşa edilen İpekyolu Parkı ve Milli Egemenlik parkının nitelik venicelik durum analizi yapılmış, görsel izlenimler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Buamaçla iki parkın büyüklük, donatı elemanı varlığı, alan kullanımları, bitkiselve yapısal tasarım ilkeleri bakımından uygunlukları görsel izlenimlere dayalıdeğerlendirmelerle yapılmıştır. Bu değerlendirme kamu kurumları ve özelsektörde çalışan 5 peyzaj mimarı tarafından yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonucundayapılan puanlama tablosu ve yüzdelik değerler incelendiğinde en yüksek değerinİpekyolu parkına ait olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu doğrultuda Milli Egemenlikparkının iyileştirilmesine yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur. Yapılan incelemeler,kentsel nüfusun mahalle düzeyinde yeşil alanlardan faydalanma olanaklarınınetkin ve yerinde kullanılabilirliğine ve ileriye yönelik kentsel yeşil alansisteminin planlama-tasarım ilkelerinin belirlenmesine katkı sağlayacaktır., The open and green space, which are one of the main uses that shape andreveal the physical structure of cities, integrate other uses of space in theplanning and design of the city as an equilibrium element. The complexes arecomplex and interdependent systems that are highly fragile against both naturaland human threats. In this study, after the devastating earthquake in Van inOctober and November 2011, the current situation analysis of the two new parkswithin the scope of landscape transformation has been made. In this context,the quality and quantity status analysis of Ipekyolu and Milli Egemenlik parks,which were constructed instead of two public buildings damaged by the urbanopen space systems after the earthquake, were carried out and visualimpressions were realized. For this purpose, the suitability of the two parksin terms of size, reinforcement element presence, field uses, vegetative andstructural design principles were made by evaluations based on visualimpressions. This evaluation was made by 5 landscape architects working inpublic and private sectors. When the scoring table and percentage values ​​wereexamined, it was found that the highest value belongs to Ipekyolu Park. In thisdirection, suggestions for improvement of the Milli Egemenlik Park werepresented. The examinations will contribute to the effective and on-siteavailability of the urban population's opportunities to benefit from greenareas at the neighborhood level and to the planning-design principles of theurban green space system in the future.

The stress caused by the daily and monotonous urban life increases the recreational needs of societies. These recreational activities are shaped in relation to the social, economic, and cultural opportunities of the individuals within the society. In relation to these opportunities, the preference for these recreational areas is based on various factors like their accessibility and utilization, and the services they provide. Based on this fact, whether a recreational area is comparatively preferable for masses can be revealed beforehand, using a method known as "recreational potential analysis".

Nowadays rapid improvements in technology and science fields have increased significantly the human’s effect which is converter and sometimes destructive on nature and its extension that natural and cultural landscaping. For this reason the cities which lose characteristics of rural, local, traditional and leave from naturalness gradually transform towards homogeneous spaces. The Cittaslow union (Slow City Union) has emerged with seeking again the features which the city man lost. Cittaslow union receive memberships with evaluating 72 criteria under seven policies titles broadly. Van (Turkey) which contains within rich historical processes, different ethnic communities and cultural landscape varieties is a significant city thathas an important place at local, national and international scales. Also the town of Van, Gevaş has an important place with conveying richness of cultural heritage from many civilizations from Urartu to until today. In this study; basically in which proportion Gevaş will provide the criteria to be a member of Cittaslow Union is revealed. If this town provides necessary criteria to be a member of Union, this town which offers slow life opportunities, does not have erosion in social values, protects its nature and culture is going to provide new alternatives and aspects as being the center of new culture, recreation, tourism and gastronomy.&nbsp

Bitkilerdoğanın önemli bir parçası olduğu gibi süre gelen yaşamları boyunca kültürel veinanç değerler doğrultusunda kullanımlarıyla da öne çıkmaktır. Kültürlerianlamanın en önemli yollarından biri de bir toplumun geride bıraktığı bahçemimarisini incelemektir. Bahçe kullanımı içinde su öğelerinin önemli yeriolmasına rağmen bahçe tasarımlarının temel taşını süs bitkilerioluşturmaktadır. Yapılan bitkisel tasarımlarda inanç ve kültür etkisiylebitkilerin kullanımı da değişiklikler göstermektedir. İran bahçe sanatıDünya’da önemli yere sahip olduğu gibi etkisi komşu ülkelerde de görülen birbahçe stiline sahiptir. İran’da yaşayan kavimler, ağaç, çiçek ve sebzetürlerinden çoğunu eski dönemlerden beri yetiştirmektedirler. Değişen inançlarve kültürler sonucunda İran’da her bitkinin bir anlamı ve kullanım amacı ortayaçıkarmıştır. Bu çalışmada İran bahçe sanatı ile ilgili taranan literatürlerışığında; İran bahçe sanatında geçmişten günümüze bitkilerin anlamı vekullanımı incelenerek İran bahçe sanatında bitki kulanım kültürü irdelenmiştir.
