Bu çalışmada Peucedanum arenarium'un Türkiye'de yetiştirilen iki alt türü subsp urbani ve subsp. neumayeri taksonomik durumu araştırıldı. Türkiye florasında bu alt türün olgun meyveleri bulunmamaktadır. Bu taksonlara ait bitki örnekleri ilk kez toplanmış ve morfolojik, anatomik, DNA dizi analizi ve SEM çalışmaları yapılmıştır. P. arenarium subsp urbani. Moleküler (ITS nrDNA dizileri), morfolojik ve özellikle mikrokarpolojik verileri göre P. obtusifolium Sm'nin aynı dalına aittir. Bu yakınlık morfolojik olarak (meyve yapısındaki benzerlikle) desteklenir. Bu nedenle P. arenarium subsp urbani'nin Taeniopetalum cinsine aktarılmasına ve Taeniopetalum urbani olarak değerlendirilmesine karar verildi. P. arenarium subsp. neumayeri ise Türkiye florası için olgun bir meyve olarak yanlış teşhis edildi. Tip lokalitesinden topladığımız bitkinin olgun meyvesine baktığımızda bu türün aslında Johneria tortusa olduğu belirlendi. Sonuç olarak Türkiye’de, P. arenarium subsp. neumayeri türü yoktur ve P. arenarium subsp urbani, Taeniopetalum urbani'dir.

This research contains the flora of between Ulaş and Kangal (Sivas) region. The research material contains plant samples which have been collected over 18 months. 420 samples have been collected in this period and 218 taxa have been identified. 57 (26,1%) of 218 taxa are endemic to Turkey. The flora of research region consist of 36 families and 128 genera and 218 taxa. 2 out of the total taxon belong to Pteridophyta division, the remaining 216 belong to Spermatophyta division. Angiospermae subdivision has 216 taxon. Respectively, 197 of the taxa are in the Dicotyledoneae class, 19 of the taxa are Monocotyledonea class, which belong Angiospermae subdividion. The scattering ratios of the taxa to the phytogeographic regions are as follows: Irano-Turanian elements 90 (41,3%), Euro-Siberian elements 8 (3,7%), Mediterranean elements 19 (8,7%), cosmopolitans and unknown scatters 101 (46,3%). The largest ten families and taxon numbers are as follows: Asteraceae (46), Lamiaceae (28), Fabaceae (21), Liliaceae (14), Boraginaceae (13), Brassicaceae (12), Caryophyllaceae (11), Papaveraceae (9), Ranunculaceae / Scrophulariaceae (8), Rosaceae (4). The largest ten generea and taxon numbers are as follows: Astragalus (9), Salvia (9), Centaurea (7), Anthemis (4), Allium (5), Papaver (4), Achillea (4), Erysimum (4), Helichrysum (4), Thymus (3)., Bu araştırma, Ulaş – Kangal (Sivas) arası florasını kapsamaktadır. Araştırma materyali, 18 ay süre ile toplanan bitki örneklerinden oluşmaktadır. Bu süre içinde toplanan 420 örnekten, 218 takson tayin edilmiştir. 218 taksonun 57’si (%26,1) Türkiye için endemiktir. The toxicity of acetaminophen (N-acetyl-para-aminophenol (APAP)) is the most frequent cause of drug-induced liver damage. Galium aparine L. (GA) is traditionally used to treat jaundice. We aimed to investigate the hep-atoprotective potential of GA in the APAP-induced hepatic encephalopathy (HE) rat model. Qualitative phyto-chemical characterization of GA was performed by LC/Q-TOF/MS analysis. Wistar rats were pretreated with GA (250 and 500 mg/kg b.wt. per oral) for five days. On the 6th day, the rats were exposed to APAP (1500 mg/kg b. wt. oral gavage) and behavioral tests (open field and passive avoidance tests) were applied on the 7th and 8th days. The animals were killed, and biochemical and histopathological parameters were assessed in blood and hepatic specimens. GA pretreated rats exhibited a significant reduction in APAP-induced liver damage, evidenced by the reduction in liver necrosis and alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and bilirubin (BIL). GA demonstrated an anxiolytic effect, as seen in the acquisition trial and grooming behavior. The short-term memory performances of animals were not changed in all groups, suggesting that APAP intoxication did not affect hippocampal function. These results show that GA extract markedly exerts hepatoprotective ac-tivity, while its effect on hepatic encephalopathy was limited.

Pistacia terebinthus galinin antimikrobiyal aktivitesini tespit etmek için disk difüzyon yöntemi kullanıldı. Standart mikroorganizmalarımız (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853, Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922) brain heart infüzyon brothlar içine alınarak Mc Farland 0.5 eşeline uyan konsantrasyonları hazırlandı. Mueller Hinton agar besiyerlerine steril eküvyon çubuklar kullanılarak ekildi. Bakteriler 35.5-36.5 derecede 24 saat inkübe edildi. İnkübasyon sonrası diskler etrafında oluşan inhibisyon bölgeleri bir cetvel yardımıyla ölçülerek değerlendirmeler yapıldı. P. terebinthus bitkisinin gal özütünün GC-MS analizini yapılmıştır. GC spektrumunda yaklaşık 85 bileşen belirlenmiştir, özütün içerdiği bileşenlerin yanısıra ve dekompozisyon ürünleri de mevcuttur. Özüte ait GC kromatogramı verilmiştir, ayrıca analizi yapılabilen fraksiyonlar üzerlerine belirlenen bileşenlerin isimleri ve olasılık oranları belirtilmiştir. P. terebinthus bitkisinin gal özütü gram (+) bakteriler olan Staphylococcus aureus ve Enterococcus faecalis üzerinde olumlu etkiye sahiptir ve büyük ölçüde bakterileri inhibe etmiştir. Antibiyotiklerin zararları düşünüldüğünde çıkardığımız özütün doğal olması ilaç gereksiniminde özütün kullanılmasının daha avantajlı olacağı düşünülmektedir., Disk diffusion method was used to determine the antimicrobial activity of Pistacia terebinthus gal. Our standard microorganisms (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853, Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922) were taken into brain heart infusion broths and their concentrations were prepared according to Mc Farland 0.5 chart. They were inoculated on Mueller Hinton agar media using sterile swab sticks. Bacteria were incubated at 35.5-36.5 degrees for 24 hours. The inhibition zones formed around the discs after incubation were measured with the help of a ruler and evaluations were made. GC-MS analysis of gal extract of P. terebinthus plant was performed. Approximately 85 components have been identified in the GC spectrum, besides the components contained in the extract and decomposition products are also available. The GC chromatogram of the extract is given, as well as the names and probability ratios of the components determined on the fractions that can be analyzed. Gal extract of P. terebinthus plant has positive effect on gram (+) bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis and inhibited bacteria to a large extent. Considering the harms of antibiotics, it is thought that it would be more advantageous to use the extract in case of drug requirement, since the extract we extract is natural.

Bu araştırmada Prunus laurocerasus bitki yaprakları kullanılarak bitki özütü elde edilmiştir. Bu özütün bitki kök ve gövde büyümesi üzerindeki etkileri araştırılmıştır. Yapılan deneyler iki aşamalı olup üç tekrarlı olacak şekilde kurulmuştur. İlk aşamada buğday tohumu ikinci aşamada ise ekonomik değeri olan fasulye ve nohut bitkileri kullanılmıştır. Bu bitkiler farklı derişimde hazırlanan çözeltilerle sulanmıştır. Daha sonra bu çözeltilerin soğan kökleri üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmış, köklerdeki mitoz bölünme incelenmiştir. En yüksek mitotik indeks (MI) yüzdesi kontrol grubunda tespit edilmiştir. Çözeltinin derişimi artması ile MI yüzdesi arasında ters bir orantının olduğu belirlenmiştir. Yapılan gözlemler sonucunda kullanılan özütün derişim oranı arttıkça bitki büyümesinin de aynı oranda yavaşladığı ve durduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bundan yola çıkarak ülkemizde tarım alanlarında karşılaşılan iklimsel ve çevresel zorluklara karşı canlı yaşamına ve çevreye zarar verebilecek kimyasallar yerine doğal yollarla alternatif çözümler bulmak amaçlanmıştır. In this study, plant extract was obtained by using endemic Prunus laurocerasus plant leaves. The effects of this extract on plant root and stem growth were investigated. The experiments were carried out with two stages and three replicates. In the second stage of wheat seed in the first stage, bean and chickpea plants with economic value were used. These plants are irrigated with solutions prepared at different concentrations. Then, the effect of these solutions on the onion roots was investigated and the mitosis in the roots was examined. The highest percentage of mitotic index (MI) was determined in the control group. It was determined that there was an inverse ratio between the percentage increase of the solution and the percentage of MI. As a result of the observations made, it was determined that plant growth rate slowed down and stopped at the same rate as the concentration rate of the extract used increased. From this point of view, it is aimed to find alternative solutions in natural ways instead of chemicals that can harm the living and the environment against the climatic and environmental difficulties encountered in the agricultural areas in our country.

WOS: 000386867900008, The genus Pimpinella is represented with 26 taxa (8 endemic) in Turkey and 170-180 species in the World. Pimpinella fruits known for two bigger vittae on the commissural side; elliptic, half-round, round and pentagonal mericarps shapes; and papillate, pubescent or puberulous hairs as anatomical. Turkish Pimpinella species have been separated into four groups according to anatomical characters. Based on our anatomical results generally found to be compatible when compared with the Wolff's sections, and molecular data (except some species such as Pimpinella flabellifolia, Pimpinella saxifrage). On the other hand, a revision of the sections is necessary. In addition, an identification key of the groups has been prepared to represent the similarities and differences between the species. Variation in fruit surface is also considerable and allows recognizing nine different ornamentation patterns. However, variation in shape, surface ornamentation and indumentum is not tightly associated since species with similar fruit shapes do not necessarily have similar surface ornamentation. All of the identified taxa belong to Spermatophyta. 34 of the taxa belonging to the Angiospermae subsection are Monocotyledoneae and 222 are classified as Dicotyledoneae. The richest first five families are Asteraceae 42 taxa, Fabaceae 30 taxa, Brassicaceae 25 taxa, Lamiaceae 25 taxa, Liliaceae 20 taxa. The richest five genera are Astragalus 11 taxa, Salvia 9 taxa, Centaurea 7 taxa, Alyssum 6 taxa, Achillea 5 taxa. The distribution of the taxa according to the phytogeographical regions was as follows: 107 (41.8%) Iranian Turanian, 10 (3.9%) Mediterranean elements, 8 (3.1%) European Siberian elements. 131 (51,2%) unknown. 59 taxa (23%) are endemic to Turkey.

WOS: 000309923600007, Rhabdosciadium urusakii E. Akalin sp. nov. (Apiaceae) is described and illustrated. It occurs very locally on scree slopes in Kemaliye (Erzincan), east Anatolia. This slender species is closely related to R. aucheri (Iran) and R. oligocarpum (south Anatolia). It is a very rare and critically endangered species. A key to all Rhabdosciadium species is given in this paper. The new species is characterized by dichotomous branched, long petiolate, pinnate and linear leaves, ovate-lanceolate bracts, a brownish band and hairs on the dorsal side of the petals.

AS extracts were studied for cytotoxicity against the breast cancer cell lines. In vitro apoptosis studies of breast cancer cells were performed by annexin V staining in flow cytometry analyses. AS showed cytotoxicity to three cancer cell lines. Annexin-positive cells level in AS treated cell lines were higher than the untreated control cells. The expressions of caspase-7 protein and TUNEL positive cells were much higher for the rats treated by AS, compared with the untreated control group. The expressions of the Ki-67 decreased in treatment groups compared with the control group. In vivo studies showed that mean tumor volume inhibition ratio in AS treated group was 38 % compared with the untreated rats. Peucedanum ruthenicum, Peucedanum chryseum, Peucedanum palimbioides, Peucedanum obtusifolium ve Peucedanum zedelmeierianum tohumlarının yağ asit bileşenleri gaz kromatografi si (GC) ile analizlenmiştir. Türlerde ana yağ asitlerinin palmitik asit (C 16:0, % 5,78-14,68 ), oleik asit (C 18:1 ?-9, % 31,28-68,06 ) ve linoleik asit (C 18:2 ?-6, % 15,99-33,74) olduğu bulunmuştur. cis-Vaksenik asit (C 18:1 ?-7, % 0,82-1,40) incelenen tüm türlerin tohumlarında eser miktarda belirlenmiştir., The fatty acid compositions of the seeds of Peucedanum ruthenicum, Peucedanum chryseum, Peucedanum palimbioides, Peucedanum obtusifolium, and Peucedanum zedelmeierianum were investigated by gas chromatography (GC). The main fatty acids in the species were found to be palmitic acid (C 16:0, 5.78%-14.68%), oleic acid (C 18:1 ω-9, 31.28%-68.06%), and linoleic acid (C 18:2 ω-6, 15.99%-33.74%). Trace amounts of cis-vaccenic acid (C 18:1 ω-7, 0.82%- 1.40%) were found in the seed oils of all of the species investigated.

The rabbits were divided into three groups each consisting of 6 animals. Group 1 served the as positive control (infected, non-treated), group 2 was the (infected and treated with extract), and rabbits in group 3 was (infected and treated with sulfadimidine). Rabbits in group 2 and group 3 was treated with single oral doses of 100 mg/kg body weight of methanolic extract and single oral doses of 2 g/kg body weight of sulfadimidine. Thymus serpyllum’un metanolik ekstraktı ve sulfadimidinin antikoksidial aktiviteleri deneysel olarak Eimeria ile enfekte edilmiş tavşanlarda karşılaştırılarak çalışıldı. Bu çalışmada sulfadimidin ve Thymus serpyllum’un metanolik ekstraktının oosist atılımı ve canlı ağırlık değişimleri üzerine etkileri gösterildi. Tavşanlar her birinde 6 hayvan bulunan 3 gruba ayrıldı. I. grup pozitif kontrol grubu (infekte, tedavi edilmemiş grup), II. grup ekstrakt grubu (infekte, Thymus serpyllum’un metanolik ekstraktı ile tedavi edilmiş grup) ve III. grup ilaç grubu (infekte, sulfadimidin ile tedavi edilmiş grup) olarak düzenlendi. Bütün gruplardaki tavşanlar 500.000 oosist ile infekte edilirken, grup II oral yolla tek doz 100 mg/kg canlı ağırlık dozda ekstraktla ve grup III oral yolla tek doz 2 g/kg canlı ağırlık dozda sulfadimidinle tedavi edildi.
