Objetivo: avaliar o cuidado de Enfermagem prestado ao paciente renal crônico em hemodiálise durante o manuseio do Cateter Duplo Lúmen. Métodos: trata-se de um estudo descritivo, transversal realizado em uma clínica de hemodiálise de uma cidade de médio porte do nordeste brasileiro. Participaram do estudo 14 profissionais de enfermagem. A coleta dos dados ocorreu em setembro de 2016 subsidiada em checklist de adequação as normas vigentes de manuseio do cateter. Resultados: a maioria dos cuidados foi executada pelos técnicos de enfermagem, com 88,9% a 92,0% de frequência. Houveram algumas falhas nos cuidados, e a mais presente foi a falta de higienização das mãos, presente em menos de 30% das observações. Conclusão: o estudo evidenciou que existem lacunas na assistência de enfermagem ao paciente em uso de cateter, e que é necessário do enfermeiro orientação e supervisão constante da equipe para evitá-las.

Nos últimos anos, as infecções sexualmente transmissíveis (IST) vêm aumentando em todo o mundo, principalmente entre adolescentes. Assim, o estudo tem como objetivo investigar o conhecimento que os adolescentes possuem sobre os principais sinais e sintomas das IST. Trata-se de um estudo transversal, descritivo, interpretativo, com abordagem quantitativa. O estudo foi realizado em uma Escola Técnica Pública de Ensino Médio do Nordeste do Brasil por meio de questionário online. Esta análise foi composta por 595 alunos. O estudo mostra que a maioria dos alunos (73,6%) não sabia quais eram os principais sinais e sintomas das IST. As mulheres tiveram mais informações sobre o assunto do que os homens. O artigo demonstra que os alunos não possuem conhecimento adequado sobre os principais sinais e sintomas das IST e isso é preocupante, pois se encontram na fase de iniciação sexual.

Objective: To evaluate, through the literature, the relevance of neonatal care, through professional training in qualified and humanized care, with a view to reducing child mortality. Method: An integrative review of the international scientific literature was carried out, in order to answer the following question: "How does neonatal care, through professional training, have the most qualified and humanized assistance in order to reduce infant mortality?" Eight articles were analyzed, which gave rise to three categories: Assistance aimed at HIV + pregnant women; Alternative breastfeeding and The role of Nursing in the prevention of mother-to-child transmission in the puerperal gravid cycle. Conclusion: Structural actions of promotion and prevention are important measures of health education in the reduction of infant mortality, with nursing having a important role in guaranteeing them.

Introduction: The emergence of multi-disorders in the elderly leads to consumption of considerable amount of medications, not always prescribed by physicians. Objective: To investigate the phenomenon of poly pharmacy in older and factors associated with it. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study conducted with 173 elderly assisted by Family Health Strategy in a Basic Health Unit Family of the Brazilian Northeast capital. The main variables of interest were: socio-demographic profile of the elderly, communication conditions, use of prescription drugs continuously, reported symptoms, medication adherence. Results: It was noticed in the study a more marked number of women 100 (57.8%) 60-69 years old (54.3%), illiterate (47.4%) and married (60.1%). The communication conditions, was found preserved in 92.5% of the elderly. The most consumed drugs were used to treat hypertension (60.7%). The most commonly used therapeutic class was the drugs that act on the cardiovascular system (35.0%). Most of the elderly ingests more than five pills a day (58.4%). In the sample studied prevailed pyrosis (55.49%), nausea and vomiting (47.3%) as major adverse effects experienced. 74.56% of seniors take medications alone. Conclusion : The presence of self-medication and drugs, unfit for unattended use by elderly, was found. It was identified a high vulnerability of the elderly to adverse events by inadequate usage and by identifying self-reported signs and symptoms.
