Transfer learning has gained significant attention in recent deep learning research due to its ability to accelerate convergence and enhance performance on new tasks. However, its success is often contingent on the similarity between source and target data, and training on numerous datasets can be costly, leading to blind selection of pretrained models with limited insight into their effectiveness. To address these challenges, we introduce D2NWG, a diffusion-based neural network weights generation technique that efficiently produces high-performing weights for transfer learning, conditioned on the target dataset. Our method extends generative hyper-representation learning to recast the latent diffusion paradigm for neural network weights generation, learning the weight distributions of models pretrained on various datasets. This allows for automatic generation of weights that generalize well across both seen and unseen tasks, outperforming state-of-the-art meta-learning methods and pretrained models. Moreover, our approach is scalable to large architectures such as large language models (LLMs), overcoming the limitations of current parameter generation techniques that rely on task-specific model collections or access to original training data. By modeling the parameter distribution of LLMs, D2NWG enables task-specific parameter generation without requiring additional fine-tuning or large collections of model variants. Extensive experiments show that our method consistently enhances the performance of diverse base models, regardless of their size or complexity, positioning it as a robust solution for scalable transfer learning., Comment: 32 pages

Quantum Physics ,Condensed Matter - Mesoscale and Nanoscale Physics - Abstract
Giant atoms are quantum emitters that can couple to light at multiple discrete points. Such atoms have been shown to interact without decohering via a one-dimensional waveguide. Here, we study how giant atoms behave when coupled to a two-dimensional square lattice of coupled cavities, an environment characterized by a finite energy band and band gaps. In particular, we describe the role that bound states in the continuum (BICs) play in how giant atoms avoid decoherence. By developing numerical methods, we are able to investigate the dynamics of the system and show the appearance of interfering BICs within a single giant atom, as well as oscillating BICs between many giant atoms. In this way, we find the geometric arrangements of atomic coupling points that yield protection from decoherence in the two-dimensional lattice. These results on engineering the interaction between light and matter may find applications in quantum simulation and quantum information processing., Comment: 20 pages, 13 figures

Abstract Menopause marks a key milestone in women’s aging, triggering hormonal, histological, and microbiome changes. This review explores how hormonal shifts during menopause alter the microbiome’s composition, affecting oral, intestinal, and urogenital communities, potentially leading to disease. The microbial metabolism of sex hormones highlights the bidirectional relationship between hormones and the microbiome. Understanding this interplay is crucial for developing personalized interventions to restore microbial balance and improve women’s health during menopause.

Quantum Physics - Abstract
These are the lecture notes of the master's course "Quantum Computing", taught at Chalmers University of Technology every fall since 2020, with participation of students from RWTH Aachen and Delft University of Technology. The aim of this course is to provide a theoretical overview of quantum computing, excluding specific hardware implementations. Topics covered in these notes include quantum algorithms (such as Grover's algorithm, the quantum Fourier transform, phase estimation, and Shor's algorithm), variational quantum algorithms that utilise an interplay between classical and quantum computers [such as the variational quantum eigensolver (VQE) and the quantum approximate optimisation algorithm (QAOA), among others], quantum error correction, various versions of quantum computing (such as measurement-based quantum computation, adiabatic quantum computation, and the continuous-variable approach to quantum information), the intersection of quantum computing and machine learning, and quantum complexity theory. Lectures on these topics are compiled into 12 chapters, most of which contain a few suggested exercises at the end, and interspersed with four tutorials, which provide practical exercises as well as further details. At Chalmers, the course is taught in seven weeks, with three two-hour lectures or tutorials per week. It is recommended that the students taking the course have some previous experience with quantum physics, but not strictly necessary., Comment: Lecture notes from an MSc overview course on quantum computing. 177 pages, 58 figures, 12 chapters, 4 tutorials

We propose a neural network weight encoding method for network property prediction that utilizes set-to-set and set-to-vector functions to efficiently encode neural network parameters. Our approach is capable of encoding neural networks in a model zoo of mixed architecture and different parameter sizes as opposed to previous approaches that require custom encoding models for different architectures. Furthermore, our \textbf{S}et-based \textbf{N}eural network \textbf{E}ncoder (SNE) takes into consideration the hierarchical computational structure of neural networks. To respect symmetries inherent in network weight space, we utilize Logit Invariance to learn the required minimal invariance properties. Additionally, we introduce a \textit{pad-chunk-encode} pipeline to efficiently encode neural network layers that is adjustable to computational and memory constraints. We also introduce two new tasks for neural network property prediction: cross-dataset and cross-architecture. In cross-dataset property prediction, we evaluate how well property predictors generalize across model zoos trained on different datasets but of the same architecture. In cross-architecture property prediction, we evaluate how well property predictors transfer to model zoos of different architecture not seen during training. We show that SNE outperforms the relevant baselines on standard benchmarks., Comment: 23 pages

Leadership ,School Principal ,Quality ,Learning ,Education ,Islam ,BP1-253 - Abstract
The school principal plays a crucial role in leading educational units to achieve their vision and mission, as mandated by Indonesian law. However, challenges persist, particularly in improving learning quality to produce academically accountable graduates. This study examines the leadership of school principals in enhancing learning quality at SDN Cikandang and SDN Citali, Sumedang. Using qualitative methods with a case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Findings reveal that principals significantly impact learning quality by adopting effective leadership strategies, including: (1) having a clear vision and effectively communicating it; (2) fostering open communication and active listening; (3) making decisive and accountable decisions; (4) demonstrating empathy towards team members; (5) upholding integrity to build trust; (6) adapting to challenges without losing focus; (7) nurturing team potential and motivating optimal performance; (8) resolving conflicts constructively; and (9) maintaining a lifelong learning mindset to enhance team capabilities. The success of a principal’s leadership depends on these qualities, combined with the context in which they lead. Such leadership not only addresses existing challenges but also drives schools toward achieving high-quality education.

Waste management in the school environment has significant challenges, especially in creating student participation in solving environmental problems. Based on research, waste produced from human activities can be differentiated between organic and inorganic waste. Effective management involves organizational components, management and operational techniques that comply with national standards. The Healthy School Movement (GSS) program has encouraged schools to be more active in waste management, where the concept of GAMES (Garbage Collection Movement) plays an important role in increasing student participation. Through this program, students are not only invited to collect waste, but also contribute to the processing process, such as recycling plastic waste into valuable works of art. Even though there are physical limitations for some students with special needs, they still participate in this activity, a demonstration that inclusive education can create a positive impact not only on individuals but also on the surrounding environment. The results of this research show that activities that involve students physically and psychologically can strengthen their sense of responsibility towards the environment and increase awareness of the importance of good waste management in schools.

Educational units carry out short-term, medium-term, and long-term planning in order to achieve their goals. Planning is not a simple activity. This is because its formulation requires an understanding of the alignment with the vision and mission of the educational unit. Planning that has been prepared does not always run according to previous provisions. This study aims to describe the planning of the Center of Excellence Vocational School program through the Industrial World and the World of Work so that graduates are competent in their fields. The researcher used a qualitative research method. Meanwhile, the data collection method used observation, interview, and documentation study methods. Sample selection was carried out by purposive sampling. In other words, the samples in this study were the principal, teachers, and students. The research activities were carried out in the 2024 academic year. The results of the study showed: (1) SMKN PP Cianjur has prepared eight programs (planning); (2) SMKN PP Cianjuar collaborates with IDUKA; (3) The positive impact of the Center of Excellence Vocational School program is the creation of competent graduates who are accepted in the world of work.

In the alluvial plains of large rivers, annual flooding is essential for numerous ecosystem services, including flood-based agriculture, biodiversity and groundwater recharge. Remote sensing provides increased opportunities to monitor surface water dynamics across large floodplains that are currently poorly captured by local hydrological monitoring and modelling due to data scarcity and the flat, heterogeneous topography. Combining the advances in earth observations with hydrological modelling and extensive in situ fieldwork, this research seeks to improve our understanding of surface water dynamics and associated agricultural practices in the Senegal river floodplain. 2813 mosaics from Landsat, MODIS and Sentinel-2 earth observations are created to map and monitor surface water variations using a site specific MNDWI classification adapted to complex, wetland environments. Validated against ground truth data, the approach is upscaled using cloud computing across this 2250 km2 floodplain over 1999–2022. Statistical regression models are then developed to estimate flooded and cultivated areas based on upstream flow values since 1950 and analyse trends and exceedance probabilities over time. Results reveal extreme interannual variations in peak flooded areas, ranging from 30,000 ha and 720,000 ha between 1950 and 2022, while annual water modules fluctuate between 210 and 1460 m3/s. After 1994, flooded areas show partial recovery, with 95th percentile reaching 89,000 ha during 1994–2022 compared to 37,000 ha in 1972–1993. Flood-based agricultural practices cover between 13,000 ha and 133,000 ha over the same period, highlighting the pronounced variability faced by local rural communities. Occurrence maps and predictive models for annual flooded and cultivated areas based on upstream flows can support early warning tools, helping to prepare for extreme floods and droughts. These outputs are crucial to assess the impact of future climatic and anthropic changes in the region, including planned dams, on the amplitude of annual floods and their associated environmental benefits.

Described herein are studies toward the core modification of cyclic aliphatic amines using either a riboflavin/photo-irradiation approach or Cu(I) and Ag(I) to mediate the process. Structural remodeling of cyclic amines is explored through oxidative C-N and C-C bond cleavage using peroxydisulfate (persulfate) as an oxidant. Ring-opening reactions to access linear aldehydes or carboxylic acids with flavin-derived photocatalysis or Cu salts, respectively, are demonstrated. A complementary ring-opening process mediated by Ag(I) facilitates decarboxylative Csp3-Csp2 coupling in Minisci-type reactions through a key alkyl radical intermediate. Heterocycle interconversion is demonstrated through the transformation of N-acyl cyclic amines to oxazines using Cu(II) oxidation of the alkyl radical. These transformations are investigated by computation to inform the proposed mechanistic pathways. Computational studies indicate that persulfate mediates oxidation of cyclic amines with concomitant reduction of riboflavin. Persulfate is subsequently reduced by formal hydride transfer from the reduced riboflavin catalyst. Oxidation of the cyclic aliphatic amines with a Cu(I) salt is proposed to be initiated by homolysis of the peroxy bond of persulfate followed by α-HAT from the cyclic amine and radical recombination to form an α-sulfate adduct, which is hydrolyzed to the hemiaminal. Investigation of the pathway to form oxazines indicates a kinetic preference for cyclization over more typical elimination pathways to form olefins through Cu(II) oxidation of alkyl radicals.

Affective Domain ,Online Learning ,Digital Era ,Education ,Islam ,BP1-253 - Abstract
Affective domain assessment is one of the activities carried out by lecturers in order to measure and determine the achievement of learning objectives. The affective domain is related to the attitudes and behavior of students as educated people in interacting with lecturers, other students and their environment. Disharmony between lecturers and students in the lecture process is the problem that is the object of this research. This is concrete evidence of the application of the affective domain. The aim of this research is to find out and describe the extent of the positive contribution of the affective domain in online learning for undergraduate students in the digital era. This research includes qualitative research with a case study approach. Data collection methods use observation, interviews and questionnaires. The number of samples in this research was 35. These samples were students from the Faculty of Economics in the first semester of the 2024 academic year. The results of the research showed that students from the Faculty of Economics Undergraduate Program preferred offline learning or face-to-face learning in class compared to online learning. Students experience a decrease in their caring values for their lecturers because they do not receive direct touch or interaction through in-class (offline) learning.

Competence ,Planning ,Education ,Islam ,BP1-253 - Abstract
The managerial competence of school principals plays an important role in improving the quality of school administration services in the digital era. This is one of the keys to creating information technology (IT)-based school administration services. In other words, utilizing technology is mandatory in order to create a more efficient, transparent and integrated system. This research aims to exploit the managerial competence of school principals as leaders in educational units in preparing information technology-based educational strategic planning and implementing it in the school administration process. Researchers use a case study approach. This approach is one of the qualitative research paradigms. Data collection methods use observation, interviews and documentation methods. The research results show that (1) the managerial competence of school principals is an inseparable part of administrative governance which is supported by information technology so that schools can improve the quality of their education; (2) The existence of information technology-based school administration management has a positive impact on effective and transparent school management; (3) The school principal as a policy and decision maker in the management of school administration feels light and trusted because the results are based on data or based on information technology implemented in his school.

This study aims to evaluate and compare the environmental impacts of stand-alone photovoltaic (PV) systems with storage installed in Burkina Faso using the life cycle assessment (LCA). SimaPro 9.4 software, Ecoinvent 3.7 database, and the ReCiPe 2018 (H) median method were used to assess the environmental impacts. The functional unit considered is “1 kWh of electricity produced in Burkina Faso by a stand-alone PV system”. Four scenarios combining two variables, battery technology (lead-acid and lithium-ion) and end-of-life management (landfill and recycling), were studied to assess 08 environmental indicators. The results show that production and end-of-life management of batteries and PV modules are the main contributors to the environmental impact, with batteries' impact ranging from 73 to 98 % for lead-acid and 50–68 % for lithium-ion batteries. Compared to landfilling, recycling significantly reduces environmental impacts, achieving reductions of 17–77 % for lead-acid batteries (LABs) and 3–99 % for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). The comparison between scenarios indicates that the LABs PV system with landfilling generates significantly higher scores across all impact categories than LIBs PV scenarios. Specifically, it shows scores over 10 times higher for human carcinogenic toxicity, 5 times higher for human non-carcinogenic toxicity, and 2 times higher for freshwater ecotoxicity. Despite extending battery lifespan, the sensitivity analysis revealed that landfill PV systems remain the most polluting, while in recycled scenarios, this extension brings them closer to the environmental performance of LIBs PV systems. The use of LIBs in photovoltaic systems is more environmentally friendly than that of LABs, regardless of the end-of-life scenario.
