This study was performed to improve the effectiveness of dietary education using a food ethics approach. Dietary education is a way of practicing food ethics based on Korean culture. The core values of dietary education and the keywords related to food ethics can be combined into environment · life, health · wisdom, and consideration · happiness. Sustainable dietary life comprises the value system of dietary education based on core values. To reach the ultimate goal of food ethics -sustaining the survival of the human race, the coexistence of humans and nature, the coexistence of humans and humans, and the fulfillment of food requirements are needed. These needs yield certain core principles, including respect for life, environmental preservation, justice, the priority of consumers, dynamic equilibrium, and the priority of safety. The extended ethical matrix with six core principles and three interest groups can be used for an ethical analysis either qualitative or quantitative. Purpose: To evaluate an educational effect of the mammography boot camp (MBC) for radiology residents and analyze affecting factors. Materials and Methods: Between December 2014 and February 2015, radiology residents in 16 institutions performed the MBC program. We compared the educational effect (score difference between pre- and post-camp test) using 25 case series and analyzed the affecting factors including institution, grades of residents, training periods, presence of sub-specialized breast staff, breast density, and types of cases. Results: The mean scores of 92 residents were 52.80 ± 18.10 and 72.50 ± 12.91 in the pre- and post-camp test, respectively (p = 0.001). There was no significant difference of educational effect according to institution (19.70 ± 16.31), grade, or training period. Although the educational effect of non-trainees was superior to that of trainees (28.10 ± 17.55 vs. 15.90 ± 14.22; p = 0.001), the scores of trainees were higher than those of non-trainees. The diagnostic accuracy showed more improvement in a fatty breast and cases with microcalcifications than compared with others. Conclusion: The MBC showed an effective educational result for radiology residents when interpretating a mammography. It was helpful even for non-trainees. The institution, grades training period, and presence of sub-specialized breast staff did not affect the educational effect. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: We analyzed the relationship between meal frequency and nutrition with mental health status, and provide basic data on health promotion for breakfast and dinner skippers compared to non-skippers. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study of 2,114 women aged 20-39 years who participated in the KNHANES in 2010-2012. We compared differences such as marital status, weight change, obesity, and underweightness, smoking, high-risk alcohol consumption, exercise, suicide ideation, stress perception, depression, blood pressure, lipid profile, 25-Hydroxyvitamin-D, and ferritin levels among meal-skipping groups by cross tabulation analysis and general linear model analysis. Results: The proportion of respondent undergoing weight loss efforts was over 50%, and of those roughly 75% were using a specific diet (e.g., fasting, skipping meals, single food diet). The breakfast and dinner skippers tended to be young, unmarried, and, had higher stress perception and suicide ideation than the non-skipping meal group. There were significantly higher incidents of obesity (body mass index ≥25 kg/m2, P=0.004), weight loss efforts, smoking, high-risk alcohol consumption, suicide ideation, and irregular menstruation in dinner skippers. In addition, there were significantly higher levels of under-weightness (P=0.004) and frequent eating out (over 5-6/week, P=0.005) in breakfast skippers. Conclusion: There were more physical and mental problems in dinner skippers in regards to high-risk alcohol consumption, suicide ideation, stress perception, and irregular menstruation. In the future, long-term studies are needed to reveal the correlation of meal frequency and nutrition with mental health status in patients who skip meals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: To compare the effectiveness of percutaneous radiologic gastrostomy (PRG) by using cone beam CT and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG). Materials and Methods: This study retrospectively reviewed 129 patients who underwent PRG (n = 53) and PEG (n = 76) over a 2-years period. The C-arm cone beam CT images were obtained from all PRG patients before the procedure in order to decide the safest accessing routes. The parameters including technical success rates, complication rates and tube migration rates were all analyzed according to statistical methods. Results: The success rate of tube placement was higher in PRG than in PEG (100% to 93%, p = 0.08). Minor complications occurred in 5 patients o f the PRG grᄋ니p (10%; 5/53, 3 wᄋ니nd infection, 2 blood oozing), and occurred in 6 patients of PEG group (7.9%; 6/76, 5 wound infection, 1 esophageal ulcer). Major complications occurred only in 5 patients of PEG group (6.6%; 5/76, 1 panperitonitis, 4 buried bumper syndrome). There were no statistical differences of minor and major complication rates in the two groups (respectively, p = 0.759, p = 0.078). Tube migration rate was lower in PRG than PEG group (7.5% vs. 38.2%, p < 0.005). Conclusion: PRG using cone beam CT is the effective and safe method, the cone beam CT provides the safest accessing route during gastrostomy. Less tube migration occurs in the PRG than in PEG.
