GEOGRAPHIC boundaries - Abstract
In this study, in order to analyze the background of companies leaving Daejeon, we investigated the sensitivity of local conditions that affect companies' business activities rather than locational advantages. Areas, where innovation value spreads, require explanatory power beyond cost, and innovative companies need a location with abundant knowledge, technology, and market accessibility. Therefore, companies learn through systematic interactions and policy proposals that increase embeddedness in a specific region, and regional identity and regional economic systems are incorporated into the company's strategic plans. However, in the case of IT companies, the concentration and dispersion of business activities are not limited by geographical boundaries. Companies can also create core-peripheral relationships between regions by forming business activities that cross regional boundaries. For example, the company still utilizes Daejeon's resources and has taken strategic action to move branches, factories, research institutes, and sales offices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
