One of the tasks of upholding and developing Marxism is to use Marxist political economy to explain the practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and to work hard to elevate the fresh economic and social experience to the height of Marxist political economy theory. In the course of this endeavor, a very important question is how to fully learn from and apply various appropriate mathematical methods. It can be said that political economy and mathematical methods have a close origin and connection since the classical period. Marx is a shining example of using mathematical methods to study political economy. For more than a century, both international and domestic scholars have used mathematical tools to study Marxist political economy and have achieved a lot of results, which have greatly deepened their understanding of Marxist political economy. China has upheld and developed Marxist political economy theory in the practice of socialism with characteristics. For example, the “mixed economy” in which public ownership is the mainstay and multiple ownership systems develop together, the progress and current situation of the marketization of the socialist market economy system, and the reform of the income distribution system of China’s public economy and the theory of changes in income differences are the use of mathematical methods and measurement methods. The summary of the Sinicization of Marxist economics has made a significant contribution to the persistence and development of Marxist political economics theory. Marxist economists should actively innovate in research methods, take historical materialism as the guide,combine the practical experience of socialism with Chinese characteristics, correctly and scientifically use various mathematical methods to innovate and develop the theoretical system of Marxist political economy.
