OBJECTIVE: To investigate the application of sex hormone drugs in patients with menopausal syndrome in outpatient department of obstetrics and gynecology hospital,so as to provide relevant data for health care of menopausal women. METHODS: Retrospective analysis was performed on the application of sex hormone drugs drugs in prescriptions clinically diagnosed as “menopause”or “climacterium”in outpatient department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University( hereinafter referred to as“our Hospital”) in 2019,and the age and drug types of patients were sorted out and analyzed. RESULTS: A total of 12 268 prescriptions were enrolled,of which5 808 prescriptions( 47. 34%) were for the application of sex hormone drugs,including 5 808 patients. The mean age of patients with sex hormone drugs was( 48. 85 ± 5. 39) years,including 3 299 patients aged from 40 to < 50 years,2 216 patients aged from 50 to < 60 years,189 patients aged ≥60 years,and 104 patients aged from 35 to < 40 years. There were 14 kinds of sex hormone drugs prescribed in 5 808 prescriptions( with total number of drug use case-times of 6 102),and the top 3 prescriptions were complex packing estradiol tablets/estradiol and dydrogesterone tablets( 2 521 case-times),tibolon tablets( 1 832 case-times) and diprogesterone tablets( 499 case-times). The application of sex hormone drugs in different age groups had its own characteristics. Among patients aged from 40 to < 50 years,the use of complex packing estradiol tablets/estradiol and dydrogesterone tablets was the most( 1 954 case-times,accounting for77. 51% of the total number of drug use case-times). Among patients aged from 50 to < 60 years,the use of tibolon tablets was the most( 1 151 case-times,accounting for 62. 83% of the total number of drug use case-times),in addition,topical vaginal estrogen preparations were used most frequently in this age group. The application of sex hormone drugs in patients aged ≥60 years was based on tibolone tablets and topical estrogen preparations for vaginal application. Complex packing estradiol tablets/estradiol and dydrogesterone tablets and tibolon tablets were used as the main drugs in patients aged from 35 to < 40 years. There were statistically significant differences in the application of sex hormone drugs in different age groups( Fisher exact probability test,P <0. 001). CONCLUSIONS: Different age groups of patients with menopausal syndrome in our hospital have their own characteristics in the application of sex hormone therapy,which can provide reference for the individualized treatment of menopausal hormone.
