- Abstract
Heart failure is a fatal stage of end-stage cardiovascular disease, which brings a huge medical burden to the society because of its high mortality and re-hospitalisation rates. Intestinal microecology is the largest and most complex microecosystem of human body. It is inhabited by tens of thousands of microorganisms in human gastrointestinal tract. In recent years, with the deepening of the study of intestinal flora, more and more studies have found that the imbalance of intestinal microecology can cause changes of metabolites in heart failure patients, which is one of the key triggers for the development of heart failure, therefore, using the intestinal microbial homeostasis as a new entry point for the treatment of heart failure will be a hotspot in medical research. However, the theory of Chinese medicine, "the spleen is the guardian", covers the physiological functions of the spleen, such as the spleens main function of transporting, spleens main function of ascending and clearing, and its main function of hiding camping, etc., and the functions of intestinal flora and the "spleen is the guardian" are similar to a certain extent. Therefore, this paper starts from a holistic viewpoint and takes the theory of "spleen as the guardian" in Chinese medicine as an entry point to elaborate on the pathogenesis of intestinal microecological imbalance and heart failure, so as to provide a reference for Chinese medicine treatment or drug research. 12. Moving Closer to Village Tradition: Analysis of the Problem of 'Dividing up Brigades and Teams' in the Early 1960s

From the end of the 1950s to the early 1960s, the Party Central made positive adjustments to the people’s commune system. Each tier of the system was downsized. Existing scholarship has mainly provided macro-narratives or policy analyses of this episode of history from the perspective of political history or institutional history. Using archives on “dividing up brigades and teams” of the communes in Pucheng county in Shaanxi province, this article contends that, during the collectivization period, the state neglected the pre-existing environmental, social, economic, and cultural characteristics of villages, as well as the relationships among the villages, in the process of integrating them into larger units of collective production with a higher degree of public ownership, thus engendering new conflicts and ruptures in local society. During the process of “dividing up brigades and teams,” individuals and collectives used their legitimate rights of division to maximize their own interests, during which multiple forces were at play. To some extent, this led to a return to long-standing village traditions. These findings are crucial for us to understand the history of the adjustments in the people’s commune system and to reflect on the institution of agricultural collectives in the pre-Reform era.

BACKGROUND: The majority of current molybdenum ore analysis techniques use absorbance, gravimetric methods, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, XRF, etc., which are primarily based on liquid injection, with a lengthy analytical procedure, complex steps, and a measurable range of 0.01%-5.17%. The joint technologies of EPMA, SEM, and X-ray spectroscopy are more expensive, and the results may not be reproducible. Compared with the above methods, AC-Arc atomic emission spectrometry (Arc-AES), which does not call for the use of acids and bases, has the potential to be applied to the analysis of molybdenum ore and molybdenum powder with a high content of Mo over 5%. OBJECTIVES: To improve the current analytical techniques for determining high content of molybdenum in molybdenum ore. METHODS: The mixed sample was loaded into the lower electrode after being ground at 2400Hz for 30min with the different sample-to-buffer ratio in a 5mL crucible. Two drops of a 2% mass fraction sucrose-ethanol solution were added and dried at 70℃ for 1h. The samples were mounted on an AES-8000 direct-reading atomic emission spectrometer using the vertical electrode method. The internal reference method was used to fit the quadratic curve in logarithmic coordinates by subtracting the background spectral lines of the analyzed elements and the internal reference elements. The experiments were conducted by choosing the internal reference element types and spectral lines, selecting the Mo spectral lines, deciding the sample-to-buffer ratio, optimizing the current loading procedure, setting the spectral uptake time, and other conditions. A set of national-level reference materials and national-level synthetic silicate spectral analysis reference materials were used for calibration. The relative standard deviation and logarithmic deviation were utilized for quality control. RESULTS: (1) The analytical line pair is chosen to be Mo 277.54nm/Ge 326.9494nm. The uniformity of internal reference elements is ensured by the excessive addition of germanium dioxide. Mo 277.54nm and Ge 326.9494nm evaporation curves exhibit good consistency when GBW07142 is used as the sample. (2) The sample-to-buffer ratio is selected as 1∶2. It is discovered that the evaporation behavior is significantly improved when it reaches 1∶2; simply increasing the buffer, is not conducive to the analysis of actual samples. (3) Primary current is 4A for 5s, secondary current is 15A for 30s, and the total interception exposure time is 35s. The results show that the intensity of Mo and Ge greatly increases before 30s and slows down after 35s. (4) The reference series components are shown in Table 1 with the content range between 500 to 500800μg/g. The reference curve equation is y=−0.077x² +1.3077x+1.2725, with a coefficient of determination (R² ) of 0.999. The detection limit of Mo in this method is 27.38μg/g, which is slightly higher than that of alkali fusion inductively coupled plasma spectrometry (0.002%) and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (0.0026%). The RSD ranges from 3.28% to 8.30%, and the RE ranges from −0.43% to 0.73% (Table 2). The results are consistent with the reference values, with significant precision and accuracy, which meets the requirements (△lgC≤0.05, RSD ≤10%) listed in Specification of Multi-Purpose Regional Geochemical Survey (DZ/T 0258—2014). CONCLUSIONS: This method can be employed to determine the high Mo content in molybdenum ore and molybdenum powder without dilution. Moreover, it is suitable for a wider determination range with the upper limit rising to 50%. It can solve possible problems, such as large sample demand, large chemical reagent use, cumbersome operation and contamination in other analytical methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the digestive system. Traditional Chinese medicine has attracted the attention of scholars at home and abroad due to its multi-target and multi-pathway anticancer advantages. Recent studies have shown that small molecular compounds of traditional Chinese medicine represented by flavonoids, phenols, alkaloids and terpenoids, such as quercetin, resveratrol, curcumol, ginsenoside and baicalin, by regulating Wnt/β-catenin, nuclear factor-κB, phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase/protein kinase B/mammalian target of rapamycin, transcription activator 3, mitogen-activated protein kinase and Notch signaling pathways, it plays an effective role in inhibiting tumor cell proliferation, inducing apoptosis and migration of cancer cells, and inhibiting tumor angiogenesis, and synergistically enhancing the sensitivity of chemotherapy drugs. This article reviews the experimental studies in recent years and explores the related signaling pathways of the active components of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of gastric cancer, which is helpful to provide effective reference for the research and development of new drugs and clinical diagnosis and treatment.
