In this study, the treatments with 2-pin shading net covering the potato, without shading net as the control were designed. The effect of different shading treatments on growing, yield and nutritional quality of ‘Qingshu9' was researched. It turned out that height, internode length, leaf area increased obviously compared with the control treatment after shaded, stem diameter decreased compared with the control treatment, main stem number, and pitch number had no significant difference compared with the control treatment. And the shading treatment had a serious effect on tuber yield. Under the 70. 22 % shading, the commodity rate, weight of individual plant, yield decreased remarkably compared with the control which could reduce 87. 08 % production,other shade treatments that the shading over the 80 % was never produced. Therefore the shading 70 % was used as the selection pressure for another 9 potato varieties of shade-tolerant evaluation. The results indicated that the reduction in yield were significant fearfully in all varieties of potato. The reduction rate of yield range between 62. 14 % and 90. 74 %. There were obvious differences between varieties of shade-tolerance. The variety of ‘Zhongshu20 'was the most shade-tolerant,the second shade-tolerance varieties were the ‘Woff', ‘Qingshu9', ‘Favorite', and the least shade-tolerant variety was the ‘Hezuo88'. From the point of tuber quality influence, dry matter and starch content all decreased, however, the vast majority of potato cultivars protein content increased after shading treatment.
